JFK, the accidental trauma nurse and the disappearance of a 'mystery bullet'

Dallas nurse Phyllis Hall held President John F Kennedy's shattered head as staff tried to
resuscitate him and also treated 'attention seeker' Jack Ruby

No inkling: John F Kennedy with Jackie and Texas Governor John Connally in Dallas

Glancing at her watch, nurse Phyllis Hall couldn’t help thinking how the warm autumn
day was beginning to drag. The Parklands Hospital outpatient department in Dallas was
quieter than normal as most of the people she would normally have seen had gone into
the city to see the President.Making the most of the unusual quiet moment almost 50
years ago – on November 22, 1963 – Phyllis went along to see a friend working in
triage. But as the two nurses chatted, the peace of the emergency room was suddenly
shattered by the harrowing screams of Texan Governor John Connally.Six minutes
earlier, he had been happily waving at the crowds, a passenger in the same car as
President John F Kennedy. But as the motorcade swept past a grassy knoll, three shots
were fired, fatally wounding the President and badly injuring Governor Connally.

The two men were rushed to the Parklands Emergency and Trauma department where
bewildered staff had no idea what had just taken place five miles away.Phyllis, then 28,
recalls: “The doors just exploded. At first we thought it was a woman being brought in
who had gone into labour in the car park or even a bad car accident.

“It was only when I saw the mayor and Vice President Lyndon Johnson did we know
something was gravely wrong.

“Johnson looked grey. We thought he was having a heart attack. Then all of sudden the
screams got louder and louder.

“Governor Connally was crying in pain. It was like nothing I had ever heard before.

“Blood was pumping from his body. It was going everywhere.”

As surgeons rushed to his aid, the doors suddenly flung open again and Phyllis saw
Jackie Kennedy running alongside a trolley carrying her husband.

“I recognised her straight away,” says mum-of-three Phyllis.

“She was draped over his body as the medics rushed him to the trauma room. Her face
had a look of incredible disbelief. She was leaning over the President, clutching him.”

Phyllis, who had graduated as a nurse six years earlier, was then unwittingly thrust into
Trauma Room 1, where a team of specialists had descended to try to resuscitate the
President.

“I wasn’t supposed to be there,” she says. “It was only because I had been speaking to
my friend in triage.

Phyllis Hall On the scene: Nurse Phyllis Hall was in the trauma room by accident

“All of a sudden a huge man, I think it was Mr Kennedy’s secret service agent, looked at me.

“He took one glance and said, ‘We need you back there’.

“Quickly, I did as he said and followed the trolley into theatre.

“Already the room was filled to capacity. There were about 15 to 20 staff inside all
trying to do everything they could for the President.”

But she adds: “In my opinion Kennedy was dead on arrival.

“He wasn’t going to survive but it was our job to try. Already signs of cyanosis (the
appearance of a blue or purple coloration of the skin indicating low oxygen) had set in.

“His pupils were dilated and there was a gaping exit wound in his throat.”

As surgeons feverishly worked on the President’s lifeless body, Phyllis made a startling discovery.

She reveals: “Mr Kennedy had such a thick head of hair, and few people noticed the
gaping wound to his skull. The bullet had ripped it clean away.

“His brain was severely damaged and the blood loss was huge.

“But, as we continued to work, I held his head.

“I could see a bullet lodged between his ear and his shoulder. It was pointed at its tip
and showed no signs of damage. I remember looking at it – there was no blunting of
the bullet or scarring around the shell from where it had been fired.

“I’d had a great deal of experience working with gunshot wounds but I had never seen
anything like this before.

“It was about one-and-a-half inches long – nothing like the bullets that were later produced.

“It was taken away but never have I seen it presented in evidence or heard what
happened to it. It remains a mystery.”

Kennedy reacts to her husband's shooting Throughout her husband’s attempted
resuscitation, Jackie Kennedy stood holding his right foot. Phyllis says the First Lady
gave no sign of emotion as she looked vacantly into the distance while the President’s
life ebbed away.

http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2713498.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Jackie-Kennedy-2713498.jpg

After 43 minutes, neurosurgeon Dr Kemp Clark made the decision to stop all further resuscitation.

Phyllis says: “He just looked and said, ‘cut’.

“Dr Clark was a very of matter-of-fact doctor, sometimes appearing immune to emotion.

“He was the best surgeon a patient could ask for but the worse for sympathy.

“As the team moved away from the President’s body, Dr Kemp simply turned on his heels.

“Without looking at Mrs Kennedy he said quite abruptly, ‘Madam, your husband is dead’
and he continued on his way out of the room.

“I couldn’t help feel for her. She was stood with so many people around her but she
looked so alone.

“I turned to her and said, ‘I am sorry for your loss’. Her face didn’t alter. She just
continued to stare.”

It wasn’t until 9pm that Phyllis finished her shift that day.

When she returned home to her husband, she says she didn’t utter a word to him about
what had happened. “It was something for years I just kept inside,” she says.

“As a nurse, it didn’t matter who it was who needed our help, we conducted ourselves
equally the same.”

However Phyllis’s part in history did not stop there.

Jack Ruby Attention: Jack Ruby shoots Lee Harvey Oswald

During the next few weeks she was regularly called on to treat Jack Ruby, who killed
Lee Harvey Oswald – the man accused of murdering President Kennedy.

She tells how Ruby would intentionally hurt himself to get out of his prison cell.

“He was an attention-seeker,” says Phyllis, who also treated Oswald’s pregnant wife
Marina just three weeks before the President’s assassination.

“After shooting Oswald, he couldn’t stand to be held in a cell, so he did what he could to
get out.

“One day he was brought in handcuffed to two police officers after he ran head first at
his cell’s bars.”

She says the hospital continued to treat him until he died from cancer in 1967.

Phyllis, now 78, refuses to go along with the idea that Oswald acted alone to carry out
the assassination.

“There are so many theories out there, who knows what to believe any more?” she muses.

“I truly believe no man could have carried out the attack without some sort of help, and
after seeing the mystery bullet in Mr Kennedy’s head I feel there is something far
deeper to his death than we the public know.”

I saw the Film narrated by some guy, he states that Jackie was trying to retrieve a piece of her husbands Brain from the back of the limo, bless her for her efforts, how horrible this time was for her, so many people thought she was trying to save herself, myself included, when in fact she was trying to help her husband.

Thanks Ced'Man ...

i knew (and once worked for) one of the former naval pathologist who "attended" the so called autopsy at Bethesda Naval hospital ... where JFK was whisked away to upon Air Force One's arriving back from the Dallas murder scene ... For me the real smoking gun to this mystery has always been the forensic medical evidence related to JFK's brain ... Which has been missing from the U. S. Archives vault (it was supposedly kept in) for decades ... Now that's the real ticket to unraveling this crime ...

Oh ... and that pathologist went on to become a very successful business man and banker ...

Has anyone given thought to the idea that a "guncotton" powered weapon may have been involved?

Nitrocellulose is difficult to maintain (kind of hazardous), but it's more powerful than traditional gunpowder...

Many nitrocellulose weapons are classified iirc.

http://jfkassassination.net/russ/jfkinfo4/jfk12/hscawtns.htm

Based on the statements of these witnesses, if the smoke they reported was in fact the result of gunfire, it would have originated in the area of the top of the grassy knoll. There is no way of determining what type of ammunition was used in that "gunfire" so that is can be stated conclusively whether the smoke seen by the witnesses is consistent with smoke produced by the type of ammunition used in any gunfire from the knoll. Nevertheless, a firearms expert engaged by the committee explained that irrespective of the exact type of ammunition used, it would be possible for witnesses to have seen smoke if a gun had been fired from that arena. According to the expert, both "smokeless" and smoke-producing ammunition may leave a trace of smoke that would be visible to the eye in sunlight.(371) That is because even with smokeless ammunition, when the weapon was fired, nitrocellulose bases in the powder which are impregnated with nitroglycerin may give off smoke, albeit less smoke than black or smoke-producing ammunition.(372) In addition, residue remaining in the weapon from previous firings, as well as cleaning solution which might have been used on the weapon, could cause even more smoke to be discharged in subsequent firings of the weapon.(373)

Being a vietnam veteran doesn't give a person any more arbitrary credibility than, say, age does.

You'd think a vietnam vet' would also be aware that nitrocellulose-based smokeless gunpowder had been standard for over 60 years back when JFK was shot.

As November 22 rolls-around each year, I'm nauseated at the moronic ignorance of the Masses, and never more-so than this, the fiftieth anniversary of the JFK assassination.

I can remember exactly where I was, and what my thoughts were, on that fateful day back in '63. My earliest impressions were, "they are lying to us", and I've maintained that opinion to this day.

Below, are the two most significant and telling videos I've ever discovered on the JFK assassination. They should be a mandatory review by every living citizen so that each-and-every one of us understand the significance of the coup d'état that occurred on that fateful day in November.

be reassured a great deal of people alive on this planet in 63 felt that deep down great darkness in their gut and heart when JFK was assassinated but could not digest the reality behind the magnitude of a cover up.

on that fateful night, (GMT) at 5 years old, in a distant land, on a small island off the N. coat of Wales UK, i remember the ATMOSPHERE when the news broke out, this is one of the few memories i have as a child. the wave hit us far and wide and now the puzzle is beginning to gallop into light. they can't fool the people and get away with it for very much longer.

Hard to believe , under the watchful eye of the secret service they shot the president in broad daylilght , right in front of the people who loved him most ... six shots from a bolt action rifle to a moving target protected by agents on all sides ??? We all know it was an inside job , to push for war , and hide what was going on concerning the dark side of the moon ...JFK was curious about what the military industrial complex was up to ... I think he told bobby he was going public with moon discoveries , and the CIA wasn't going to let that happen , sidebar quess who was in Dallas that day ??? George Bush SR ... former head of the CIA ...

Thanks sian both these videos are good and shows
how paranoid the world in general was back then
especially in the US with 'Reds under the Beds' Etc

The bio weapons are very plausible and aids has been
linked to the US military. I have seen other vids about
The Reilly Coffee company and Oswalds being part
of the intelligence operations. There are many threads
to this web, still to be revealed.

Thanks sian for adding this to the mix, however, allow me to state for the record, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Secretary John Kerry (Skull and Bonesman) would ever allow an investigation into the life's work of George H. W. Bush (fellow Skull and Bonesman)

JFK: The Smoking Gun

http://www.jfkthesmokinggun.com/

On the 50th anniversary of the death of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, JFK: The
Smoking Gun presents a cold case forensic analysis of Kennedy’s assassination
conducted by Colin McLaren, a foremost Australian homicide detective. Using
modern technology, he studied all the ballistic evidence and witness testimonies in
order to uncover the truth of what had happened on that fateful day. His analysis
updates the research exposed in “Mortal Error”, a book published in 1992 by Bonar
Menninger and Howard Donahue. The murder of President Kennedy is one of the
world's most shocking tragedies and yet his killing has been surrounded in mystery
and confusion – until now.

This ground-breaking, feature documentary reveals what really happened that day:
that there was a 2nd shooter, who fired accidentally and who was really responsible
for the kill shot to President Kennedy - and subsequently one of the greatest cover-
ups in American history.

The late American ballistics and firearms expert Howard Donahue believed that
while Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin and he did indeed fire at President John
F. Kennedy, the shot that mortally wounded Kennedy was accidentally fired by one
of the Secret Service agents riding in the follow-up car behind the presidential
limousine. Donahue also maintained that there was no conspiracy to kill the
president. Donahue's theory and his supporting arguments is the subject of a book
by Bonar Menninger, MORTAL ERROR (New York: St. Martin's Press, 1992) and of
the recently published book JFK: THE SMOKING GUN by Colin McLaren (Sydney:
Hachette Australia, 2013).

According to Donahue, Oswald only got off two shots. Oswald's first live shot, from
his surplus WWII Carcano rifle, hit the road sign & road near the limousine and
showered the car with fragments, a ricochet hit Kennedy lightly in the head.
Oswald's second shot (the “Neck Shot”) struck the President in the back of the neck
and passed right through him striking Texas Governor John Connally’s back, ribs,
wrist and thigh and was found virtually intact on a stretcher at Parkland Hospital.
Seconds later, Secret Service agent George Hickey accidentally discharged his AR 15
assault rifle in the follow-up car. This bullet hit Kennedy in the back of the head.

Lee Harvey Oswald did shoot President Kennedy. Lee's rifle an Italian surplus WW2
Carcano 6.5 mm first ejected what is called a plug round, that is why 2 empty
cartridges and one non spent bullet which was found in his Dallas Book depository
snipers nest. The plug bullet is a bullet that is just a wasted cartridge to keep the
rifle chamber clear of moisture and dirt.

The 6.5 mm bullets in Lee Harvey Oswald’s WWII Mannlicher Carcano rifle were
medium velocity and had thick copper jackets (called full metal jacket) designed to
pass clean through a target. Oswald's first shot hit the traffic sign then the road
near the limousine and peppered the area with fragments. A ricochet fragment hit
President Kennedy lightly on his scalp. Oswald's second shot (the “Neck Shot”)
struck the President in the back of the neck just to the right of the spine. It exited
from his throat below the Adam’s apple, then struck Texas Governor John Connally
beneath and behind his right armpit, shattering four inches of Connally’s fifth rib,
exited below his right nipple, crashed through his right wrist and thigh and was
found virtually intact on a stretcher at Parkland Hospital. This bullet passed neatly
through Kennedy and Connally causing seven different wounds. This was the classic
behaviour of a full metal round, which is designed that way so a Soldier in War can
seek medical attention but no longer fight.

Again the first live 6.5 mm Carcano round fired by Lee hit the traffic light sign on
Elm Street. This bullet struck this traffic light sign and then ricochet down onto the
curb spraying concrete and hitting JFK in the back of the head causing JFK to say to
Jackie that he had been hit and also hit was a bystander on his chin just before the
Elm Street under pass.

These 2 rifle reports caused the Secret Service Agents in the following car to react
and one pulled up a hidden AR15 and flipped the safety off. As the car sped up this
caused this Secret Service Agent to fall back accidentally pressing the trigger
causing the one non jacketed round from the AR15 to discharge.

THE AR-15'S SOFT POINT/HOLLOW POINT FRANGIBLE BULLET
The .223 rounds in the AR-15 assault rifle are high velocity, soft-point or hollow
point, and frangible bullets with a diameter of 5.56 millimeter. The accidentally
fired bullet shattered the President's skull and sent bone and brain matter
exploding outwards. It left an exit wound the size of a small plate. As it exploded,
molten droplets of lead solidified in the brain matter and left between 30 to 40 tiny
lead fragments in Kennedy’s brain, according to the Warren Commission and the
official Autopsy Report.

This sadly blew President John F Kennedy’s head apart, just a few mere seconds
later. The close rifle report and the smell of ground level gun powder had everyone
think that this shot came from the grassy knoll.

At Parkview Memorial Hospital on November 22nd 1963 it is apparent that the kill
shot in my opinion from the AR 15 killed the President. Hence the removal of the
Presidents body quickly to Washington.
In Washington the Presidents brain was removed and lost so the fine bullet
fragments of the AR15 could not be found.

Jack Ruby a nut himself decided to kill Oswald by shooting and did, causing Lee
Harvey Oswald to die on November 24, 1963, Parkland Memorial Hospital. Jack
Ruby was able to do this as he had access to the Dallas Police Department Parkade.
Jack Ruby later died himself of a pulmonary embolism due to lung Cancer on
January 3, 1967 at Parkland Hospital.

As for the whole actual cover up, it was to spare the Secret Service embarrassment
and the whole assignation was just a tragic comedy of errors!

I watched the 'Smoking Gun' documentary on the Australian ABC programme Four Corners. To me it made more sense than anything I've seen or heard previously. And made me realise more fully how we can get hooked into a myriad of conspiracy theories. HOWEVER, the doco does NOT really get into who set up Lee Harvey Oswald in the first place. So while the shooter of the fateful AR15 explosive round was identified, along with the clumsy attempted SS cover-up, I have yet to be convinced of who was behind Oswald and their motive(s).

So, in a sense, the mystery remains. Given the years between the shooting and today, I wonder if we'll ever really know. If the PTW are good at one thing, it's creating so many confusing scenarios, helped by everyday human imagination run wild, and, voila, the 'truth' is quickly buried under tons of confusing and conflicting 'evidence'.

Don't we have bigger and more urgent problems to deal with in the world today? ;)

The main conclusion was that Oswald could not have killed the President....

This summery I posted on the thread I just posted.

Secret Service Agent George Hickey had access to a AR 15 , its proposed he took
the kill shot that blew President Kennedy's head, from the car following
immediately behind. With an explosive round, that could not have been fired from
Oswalds Carcano rifle in the book depository. Its got some good points, but the end
conclusion that it was an accidental shot. contradicts why it had explosive
ammunition preloaded, still plenty of speculation but clearly points out Oswald
could not have killed the President, with the ammunition he was using, the angle of
the headwound and explosive impact means there had to have been a second
shooter.

It only focuses on two things really, Oswald could not have Killed the President
which is a good enough reason for the doc in itself. The Killer was probably
George Hickey either Murder or Manslaughter. It does not go into any of
the real political reasons for his death, but is interesting in its way.

I can't remember if they mentioned the grassy knoll..LOL
