interesting... I don't think solar should ever be more then application specific and a supplementary alternative source. It is practical only with the right environmental context i.e. wide open expanses of land, high sunlight, day and season geographical...

I think there is a hidden maintenance and depreciation cost that is not being addressed... imagine being responsible for cleaning a mile of surface area... The technology keeps increasing at such a fast rate, any investment will become obsolete very quickly, what will a glass and aluminum mirror look like in 10 years? also how obsolete will that particular technology be? And finally I think it is technically vulnerable. It is easier to build and protect a mini-reactor I think.

I believe clean local thorium reactors, built according to the local needs of individual communities could be the workhorse of energy production, this is already available technology, the only drawback is political suppression by the US because they wanted polluting plutonium to make weapons of war... I think that will eventually go the way of mustard gas and biochemical (as soon as the world wakes up...) If they could build it experimentally 50 years ago... they can surely build it today. And with breeder technology there would be an unlimited fuel supply, and no waste by product... And they are fail safe by design.

Fukashima totally backfired and exposed another Illuminati conspiracy, those plants were set up to be time bombs by Rockefeller controlled GE, they didn't want to invest all that money in Japan without building in Kill switch, I think they saw Japan's desire to escape the Western noose after 70 years as per the Global Bankruptcy Debt requirement... (it's all business/commerce admiralty) Japan has put in its 70 years, paid its dues and will very soon be saying thank you very much, for the privilege of kissing your a** for the last 70 years, hope you enjoyed screwing us up the a** all these years, and you certainly earned it, winning that "war" ... dropping those two atomic bombs on our a**es, and now we are all paid up... we would like you to get the f*** off our island.... have a nice day...

Really, Thorium is a conservative option in a world of 'free energy' I can see it coming in the very near future as the natural logical choice. Would love to see it happen. It is nice to hear someone talk about decentralized smaller and medium sized power plants. That is the way of the future. I would love to have my own power plant. I would move out into a remote area, desert or forest and build an earthship type dwelling...
