Got this from Art Bell interview of Richard C Hoagland...

Wow, really, wow

at one point they will have to tell the truth

Ah yes, number 9. Gooood stuff. Ask anyone in construction what it looks like embedded in that rock, and I can bet you they'll say a peice of pipe. ;)

Yes, I have tried that with a few people, and they all say, yes, that that looks like a pipe. Then I tell them it is from Mars... cue long silence... although it did prompt one person to say that she was very interested in ancient aliens and what did I think about them, hehehe.

Serious question: can anyone find the original NASA photographs, especially the Sol64 one? It would be even better to be able to link to an official NASA website or .jpg - or have they taken them down already?

Hoagland never did dig up the actual photo names I don't think. Tho maybe those are the origionals posted. He says what's what on the episode.

When they enhanced the photo. did they take out a bunch load of stuff?
There is so much missing from the first photo.
It doesn't even look like it was taken in the same area.
Did the probe move the object or are they two different objects?
If they are two different objects, that makes it even better as there would be two objects that are all but the same found.

In other words there is not enough info in the OP to make a core determination.

I think the photo is an enhancement. The file name has the word "enhance" in it.

I would really like to see the originals. I went on the NASA website but searching is very difficult.

They don't exactly want to say, here's the one with the pipe!

How can we find the originals?

I've seen hundreds of pictures from Mars like this. Very very few are actually interesting, or could in any way offer 'evidence' of something out of the ordinary. Most people's 'amazed' reactions are a result of wishful thinking, and pareidolia.

The above picture could quite conceivably be - before one jumps the gun and shouts "martian technology" - who knows what kind of natural, geological formation. Or going a little further, a piece of fossilized tube sponge (http://reefguide.org/yellowtube.html), or maybe coral, for one thing - which in itself would be a marvellous discovery, for it would be proof positive of ancient martian life. It could even be a piece of Earth tech, some debris from a probe (check the historical database on missions to Mars, many, many such probes to Mars went awry, or crashed etc).

This is not to say that Mars doesn't have a secret and quite fascinating history (I believe that it does) and that there are many things they aren't telling us (I believe that they aren't). But I also believe that these things just do not crop up in photos available in the public domain.

Has this ever been debunked or explained? (I know all kind of weird imagery has natural causes), but still I always thought this was one of the most interesting Mars images:

the pipephoto was also mentioned by hoagland in one of the new radioshows from art bell and i found it quite amazing for me its one of the best finds yet.

here is another amazing one:

Hoagland's theory is that some people within NASA are deliberately getting the smoking gun photos into the public, but not saying anything about it, so that when the truth comes out, they can say, told you so...

Not that great, but interesting...

I found the original image on NASA website - yup, it's a pipe!

WHY is this not news all over the world? (Yes, I know the answer...)

Hi all,

Funny to let something like this stay on the pix when the picture was clearly modified. I see something on the top, too many "random" pixels there. But I got to say, that picture zoomed can easily look like an entierly created one. But hey, let that pipe/submachine turret/fossil on it, it's cool !

One possible explanation is that the SOL 64 image is from taken from farther to the right which explains why the opening appears more to the left and circular instead of flattened as it does in the SOL51 image. Also it explains why the surroundings look a little different and why the lighting looks different since it was taken at a different time.
