This is a really nice and clear graphic. It got very close to Mars, but clearly it doesn't get anywhere near Earth. Apologies for a stupid question, but what is all the fuss about? Isn't this Elenin all over again? Hopefully that question will not lead to any :target:

I don't really know at this point I have read so many different variations of why ISON is so important that I'm reserving judgement.

I have also seen a lot of different information. Let me ask a more specific question: what information have you seen that you think is actually credible, and what is the evidence provided by whoever is making the claim to back that up?

I think it is a wonderful thing to see -through out history portents arrived with comets, plus there is nothing good on Tele.

Great thread on Ison plus one other on Avalon right now super pictures of Ison found by AmzerZo.

From what I have read almost none is actually creditable, it is interesting how people make connections they wish to see. But it is up to the reader to decide here is a few links, which may or may not give you some insight.

Thanks. None of these links seem credible. I'm going to wait and see. I think Hoagland is going to be on Red Ice shortly to talk about it, so I will listen to that carefully. He got burnt on Elenin so I expect he will be very careful this time, meaning if he does make any claims, they are more likely to be credible.

This is quite handy, at least for the (non)astronomer I am.
I made two snapshots attached here:
- from the point of view of space and
- from Earth's point of view
at the moment the comet becomes visible from Earth (sometime during November).

I don't want to mess up what I did with the two images (first time image upload here).
You will notice the comet appearing from the southwest from Earth's point of view (POV), second image. The two images are done at the same time, so the position of the comet is one and the same.

And now I will cite from a book I have called "The Universal Seduction" V.3 by Angelico Tapestra, part called Freemasonry, Illuminism and Satanism:

"The Illuminati was officially founded on May 1st, 1776 in Bavaria. "The true purpose of the order" wrote Weishaupt, "was to rule the world. To achieve this it was necessary for the Order to destroy all religions, overthrow all governments and abolish private property".
...
Masonic literature talks about rebuilding the Temple of Solomon in the hearts of Masons. The evidence seems to indicate that they also plan to rebuild the actual temple and do it around the years of 2000.
...
Why the year of 2000? ... The Masons have their own "mythology" in which the year 2000 A.D. is of, quite possible, supreme importance.
...
An ancient sumerian cuneiform tablet deciphered by George Michanowski, author of The Once and Future Star, described a giant star exploding withing a triangle formed by the three stars: Zeta Pupis, Gamma Velorum and Lambdha Velorum. This occurred around 4000 B.C., the date and event on which the Masons begin their calendar.
Dr. Anthony Hewish, a 1974 Nobel Prize winner, investigated a strange rhythmic pulses coming from that same portion of the southern sky. He independently verified that there were radio emissions from the remnants of a star that had collapsed or had blown itself up around 4000 B.C.
This appears to be the source of the Eye in the Triangle motif among many conspiratorial groups and organizations.

The calendar of the Freemasons begins 4000 years ahead of the calendar we use in the Western World.

Cont.
"Strangely the Sumerians believed that man would see again that blazing star 6000 years into their future... around the year of 2000 of our calendar. To again quote from Jim Keith:
"The date the Sumerians, and apparently the Masons, set for the reappearance of the supernova withing the triangle of Zeta Pupis, Gamma Velorum and Lambdha Verrorumis [sic] is around the year 2000 A.D. A possible strategy to take advantage of this event is only too obvious. If the Masons really are planning on setting a World King on the throne, it would be to their advantage to take into consideration Millennial beliefs widely held by the Christians about a Second Coming around the year of 2000, while at the same time also taking advantage of Jewish expectations about the Massiah and the rebuilding of the Tample of Solomon. It may be even that the Masons believe their own legend about Sirius, and expect the year 2000 to see the return of the Oannes, the beings from Sirius, perhaps with plans for another stage of the civilization of humanity. "

Everyone is free to interpret the appearance of this impressive comet in any way one sees fit. There are several threads with information on ISON, and if the mods feel my posts belong to those threads I will be glad if they come of any use.
