‘Solar panels and lighting displays may soon be produced from devices virtually
indistinguishable from inkjet printers, scientists predicted at the recent consumer
electronics trade show (IFA) in Berlin.

The technology in question moves away from conventional electronics manufacturing,
instead producing solar cells and LEDs using small organic molecules that absorb or
emit light. In a solar cell, these molecules absorb light and then generate an electric
charge, which is then transformed into an electric current. In an LED, the molecules
respond to an electric current by emitting light of a specific color.’

Printing computer displays and solar cells
KurzweilAI (2 days ago) - Printable curved computer displays, TV screens, signs,
clothing, fluorescent wallpaper, and flexible solar cells will soon be possible using a new
printing process for flexible, organic light-emitting diodes, or OLEDs,...

Fascinating stuff! Are we ready to face the changes that will be coming as the result of the explosion of 'printing' technology? There seems to be something new each day! Combining the two technologies of printing and solar should give a us results that we cannot even imagine at the moment!
