Mass graves...

Just found this searching around and thought some might find it of interest. It is about mass graves being found off New York...

It's normal for the poor or orphuned, etc. to be buried this way 100 years ago - and up to recent times.

I don't understand the point of this thread.....
Do you think homeless people should be buried in individual graves with their own headstone ?
I knew a guy once who worked as an ambulance attendant for New York City in the mid 1960s.
He told me that every morning early the driver and 2 attendants would drive around picking up dead bodies of homeless people who has died during the night...The dead
people would be lying in alleys and parks....about 5 to 10 or more every day.....on average. Multiply that times 365 .
I'm not talking about crime victims....

As a child I lived for 3 years in a large city in Brazil.....
There was a large Catholic cemetery that rented grave sites to poor people for 2 to 5 years...Then the body was dug up and thrown into a pit with other skeletons.
When the pit was full it was covered with a few feet of dirt and another pit was dug.
...and so it goes....
I imagine this is the way of things all over Latin America....
Real life is often not what we think it is.
