December 27-30, 2013

The 4th branch: A journalist of a famous media in China visited the community to know more about our new lifestyle and the recent event happened to the community.

He also interviewed Xuefeng, some community members, 17 Mangpan villagers and one team leader of the village.

On Dec 27, nine young community members went to another city to work because the community have found jobs for them, and they will work outside temporarily to support the community.

On Dec 30, he went to interview Lincang City Forest Bureau, Public Security Bureau and local Police Station, but he was told that they should get the approval of local government’s press office before they can accept the interview. Then he went to the press office, where he was told to wait and hold reporting the event.

In the afternoon, the journalist left for the 1st branch.

December 31, 2013

The 1st branch: A few officers from local Police Station, Military Office and Subdistrict Office came and took the journalist away, saying that they wanted to invite him for a lunch. The Journalist expressed that he intended to come back after the meal, but the officers told him to take the luggage with him. They left and the journalist did not come back ever since.

At about 8:00 PM, three people from Yi Media, Hongkong, arrived at the 1st branch. Some police officers came right away and requested them to do a registration and show their work identification. They also asked them the purpose for visiting the community.

The 4th branch: The officials from Lincang City Forest Public Security Bureau come to notify us that we should go to the Government Legislative Affairs Office of Linxiang District on January 02 to deal with the “Administrative Reconsideration” matter with regards to our application for the reconsideration of the punishment decision made by Forest Bureau.

January 01, 2014

The 4th branch: Between 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM, a vehicle of Forest Bureau stopped near our gate and blocked the only exit of the community.

Between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, one repaired water pipe was again damaged by vandals. When we walked to check the water pipe and passed by the van, the officials inside the car asked, “What are you guys going to do?”

At 6:00 PM, we called the leader of Forest Bureau to complain and stated that their behaviour had breached Chinese Constitution. Twenty minutes later, they moved the van to a sandy area 100 meters away from the gate. The van did not left until 11:00 PM.

The 1st branch: The chief officer of local Police Station came in the morning to check the community’s situation.

At about 1:00 PM, some officers from local Police Station, Military Office and Subdistrict Office (the same group of people who took the journalist away on Dec 31) came to talk to our Hongkong guests and wanted to invite them for lunch. They refused politely.

January 02, 2014

The 4th branch: The Forest Bureau called in the morning and said that the meeting of “Administrative Reconsideration” at the Government Legislative Affairs Office would be postponed.

From 11:40 AM to 10:30 PM, the Forest Bureau sent two vehicles and used two big loudspeakers directing at the community, continually broadcasting the contents of various Chinese laws, which has seriously disturbed our members’ normal break time. Around 9:00 pm, we called 110 (police emergency call), the police promised to come quickly but they didn't. Around 10:20 PM, Xuefeng called the vice director of Lincang City Public Security Bureau, required them to stop such illegal activity. Then on 10:45 PM they stopped the broadcast and left.

The broadcast has been continued every day since Dec 24, 2013.

They are now treating us as prisoners. When our members go out, they will check very carefully and ask some questions. And they don't allow other people to come to our community now. The three people from Yi Media, Hongkong arrived in Lincang City in the afternoon and wanted to come to the 4th branch of our community (where I'm living now), but the Forest Bureau told them that the mountains are covered and don't allow strangers to go into the mountain.

That's great, thank them that I can experience how the Pandas feel in Chinese zoos now.:p

BTW... the broadcast is still continuing now. They broadcasted from 9 am till now.:cool:

I am so sorry Jena that they are using dirty tactics with constant noise pollution that is most certainly a type of brain washing.

Do you have access to ear plugs?

I use to live in a flat with very noisy neighbours; throughout the day and night playing the same music over and over. It nearly drove me insane. I then learned to override the constant noise by humming a tune, or taking my mind into deep and inspiring thoughts where my mind would become so occupied with such spiraling thoughts the outside noise became a distant sound.

The crisis is getting more and more serious. The 4th branch is pretty much blockaded.The Justice Bureau’s van parks in front of the gate all the time. The power line of our water pump in the 1st branch was cut off.
we were informed that the road leads to the 1st branch will be closed up for maintenance from tomorrow.

The blaze destroyed more than 100 traditional wooden houses in the ancient Tibetan village and caused around £10m of damage.A 1,300-year-old Tibetan village has been partially destroyed by fire, according to state media.
The fire began at around 1.30am in Dukezong, in Shangri-La, in China's southwest Yunnan province, and destroyed more than 100 traditional wooden houses, Xinhua news agency said. More than 1,000 firefighters were called in to battle the giant blaze, which at times had flames more than 10 metres high.

Local authorities said strong winds hampered efforts to control the fire, which was still spreading by mid-morning on Saturday.Villagers were evacuated as the fire broke out and no casualties have been reported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown but the cost of damage is expected to reach 100 million yuan (£10m), according to the Chinese news portal Zhongguo Xinwen Wang.

Dukezong, which means "town of the Moon", was founded around 1,300 years ago, and is known for its well-preserved ancient streets and traditional culture.Earlier this week another high-profile site of Tibetan culture, the Buddhist Serthar institute in the nearby province of Sichuan, also went up in flames with ten buildings destroyed.

This is a 10-minute documentary showing the massive destruction of Serthar Buddhist Institute in Sichuan (aka KHAM) Province in Tibet. The documentary was made from film footage smuggled out from Tibet by ex-residents of the Institute.

Serthar Institute, also known as Larung Gar, is located in Karze "Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture", Sichuan Province. Until last year it was Tibet's largest Buddhist Institute. Serthar's non-sectarian academic teachings by Khenpo (abbot) Jigme Phuntsok attracted Buddhist scholars from all around the world, including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea. It was also home to a large number of Tibetan monks, nuns and lay-people. Total population before the current crackdown was well over 8,000.

In 1999 Chinese Communist Party "work team" visited the Institute and ordered that only 1400 residents were permitted to study there. First to be expelled were students from other Asian countries. Then in June 2001 fifty trucks and jeeps arrived at the Institute and, under the protection of thousands of security officials who camped on the outskirts of the Institute during the demolition, began to destroy the residential area.

The documentary shows Chinese authorities overseeing the demolition of buildings, while monks and nuns try and retrieve their possessions from the wreckage. It also contains interviews with two ex-residents of Serthar Institute who are now in exile. Of particular concern to former residents of the Institute is that Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok and his niece, herself a senior religious instructor, are being held incommunicado in Chengdu. Another major concern described by a nun interviewed in the documentary is that hundreds of nuns in particular are now homeless.

In the last seven years, TCHRD has recorded the eviction of almost 19,000 monks and nuns from religious institutions in Tibet; the closure of 24 religious institutions; and the arrest of thousands of monks and nuns who are often guilty of little more than expressing their opinion or refusing to denounce their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

Youdon Aukatsang said "The documentary completely contradicts China's claim to respect religious freedom in Tibet. China may have escaped condemnation on their human rights record at the Human Rights Commission this year, but with evidence such as this, the world can no longer turn a blind eye."



Now look at this. These people too maintained a 'community' , monastic community they built by their own hands so that they could continue study, practice meditation and live in peace .

Dear Jena,

I have been supporting you since I heard of your communities plight. You have been in my daily focus that the situation would turn around for the betterment of you all. It saddens me close to tears that I am writing such a post now that you are not going to like, yet please know I write this in love and for your well BEingness and future.

I truly understand that what is happening to you and your community seems all a big shock, creating confusion and challenging what you believed; how could people be so unkind, brutal and controlling etc. The things is as I see it, this is a big initiation wake-up call to see through the misty mirrors and lies your government have spoon fed to their people. Yes the government will seem kind and great 'IF' you in 'all-ways' tow 'their line' and always follow 'their laws' and do what you are told without question. It is only when you step outside of their permitted small box of thought/rules (slavery) is when you get to see 'who' they really 'are' and 'their intentions'. I understanding this is a shocking realisation, it rocks the very foundations of all that you thought you knew. It is also a very important realisation that will help you to understand the bigger picture of how humanity is enslaved globally by the very few. This realisation is very much a part of one's spiritual awakening.

From a westerners view of what is happening to you, it is clear that so far they have only taken 'little baby' steps to remove your whole community by inconveniencing you, but their tactics are now becoming more restricting, and I am sad to say it will get worse - much worse. It is time to protect your elderly and your children in your community as well as yourselves, make preparations to move out, holding your heads up high walking with Spirit and go make your dream somewhere else.

The Chinese government as westerners perceive from history never stands down, so if they intend to plough your community down to the ground they will, they do not joke. As Agape keeps trying to remind you, look what they have done to the Tibetan communities - it is a tragic history of slaughter upon peaceful spiritual folk; the Chinese government have not given an afterthought of care towards their victims. You are dealing with an Empire mentality and anything that gets in 'their way' will be turned to dust.

There are many ways to stand up for LOVE in this world, but getting oneself ploughed down by a bulldozer is probably not one of them.

Your community has learned so much, there is so much more you all can share and give and support to others around the world that will bring benefit and change. BUT while you are citizens of China, I am sad to say the likelihood of you being allowed to live the life you wish as a spiritual community your present Chinese Government are unlikely to permit this, it doesn't go along with their greedy 'empire' dreams. Their actions have been persistent, they mean business they want to end your community. Please wisely revise what business you and your community wish to do for the future. Right now you are close to checkmate and it is not in your favour.

Remember we live in a reality of quantum potentials - There will be another time and another place, it just sadly isn't where you are right now.

The 'Future' needs people like you Jena and your community - please be wise in your march that is a path that leads you all to such a bright Future. :hug:

The local governments of this planet are very sensitive to publicity indeed.

That is what I can do for you...

I wish to tell you something , from my heart, on spiritual note but it pertains to all the matters discussed above .

I can tell you this because I've studied for long time with monks, especially Indian monks , not only Tibetan monks and India is the cradle of living spiritual traditions to this day and though it suffers many extremes, also poverty and social inequality , and unsolved health and social care systems,
it's a country that cultivates democracy and is built on its spiritual principles of Ahimsa, non-violence .
There are problems .. but there is in fact no other country in the world that permits such a cultural and religious diversity as India ( I know the US would say it's them but I beg to differ ) .

If you count yourself among 'celestials' and want to follow spiritual path , there's one rule that was common to all of the old monastic orders and that was non-posession and detachment .

Original , authentic Hindu , Buddhist but also Christian monks, or even Muslim Sufis and Fakirs, Yogis , all these people travelled free under every countries law and customs unless they broke those laws for one substantial reason,
they never 'owned' anything nor they attempted to own anything.

Traditional Buddhist or Hindu monks were permitted ( still are and it's in the Vinaya rules and in the Hindu Shastras alike ) to carry 3 pieces of cloth, a staff and a begging bowl. And few basic essentials like shaving blade and a towel.

If they built a hermitage, a monastery or any other place .. they could not call it 'their own' . Whether it was a tree house, cave home or adobe hut , it was to be their temporary dwelling and they were not advised to stay there more than 7 days .

That was in the rules. Likewise, they were not permitted to touch money, touch gold or silver . Or keep objects that maybe of value to people and provoke envy and jealousy . That all was viewed as unnecessary to the real spiritual value .


See what has happened with many of those religious orders till now and why so many governments took clamp down on them . The church became so rich in many countries that those formerly 'poor monks' officially possessed nothing yet they had golden robes, domes - temples full of golden statues and well kept like icons by the lay community .

Spirituality is a lot about detachment from material possessions in my opinion, or dealing wisely with them, non hoarding, sharing, I know you all know this in your community . But in extreme cases ..

it's simply much easier .. to let go. Claim nothing of your own , whether it's buildings, land, trees or books. Your lives are far more precious.

If situation turns bad you must be prepared each to pack your bag within an hour and go.

Have you heard of 'NASA preparedness ' ? Probably not . But it simply means that under critical circumstances you need to be able to put your most necessary belongings including things like documents ( passports, IDs ) in half an hour and evacuate yourself .

I have no idea how many people are you there but surely, you have some good shoes to put on and walk through the woods if necessary . Get to the nearest train station . Leave things behind that may be of interest to them .

I am not saying it's the only option but may also be a necessity . Your lives are more precious ..

I have been tracking the Lifechanyuan situation since Jena's last post and it appears that the Government has increased it pressure on the residents by, for example, blocking vehicle access, cutting water pipes and removing electricity. It also appears that Xuefeng may have decided that it is a lost cause but is still trying to get some form of compensation from the Government for the residents.

This is the situation Blufire and a number of other members at Avalon were concerned with.

Below is the translation of Xuefeng's "statement" which is directed largely to the government in Yunnan province. I must admit quite a bit of concern over the last few days as the forum posts @lifechanyuan from some of the residents seemed to adopt a very ominous "we will be leaving soon" kind of feeling (though not directly stated like that and it could be the result of the language barrier). It appears that Xuefeng may have stepped in and addressed this, if it was a problem, with his below statement. I hope that is the case as it is all too easy for a charismatic leader to take his followers with him when he decides to suicide.

As I said, this does not look to be the path that Xuefeng has decided to take and I hope that remains the case.

The theory system of Lifechanyuan was built upon the basis that there would be a big universal purification around year 2013, which I sensed ten years ago. I forecasted that there would be a cosmic wave coming around year 2013, and it would cause tremendous changes on the earth. After that, the humanity will enter into an unprecedented civilized era, which is what I call Lifechanyuan era, and this highly civilized era will last for a thousand years.

Today, year 2013 had passed and nothing happened. This reality has shown that my feeling was wrong. So the theory system of Lifechanyuan is also wrong, that is to say, Lifechanyuan is a castle in the air built upon an unsolid foundation.

The reality is the projection of one’s consciousness. The crisis and predicament the Second Home currently faces are the result of my wrong consciousness. I lack the good skills to communicate with the government and society. I always think loftily that I am right. Therefore, I should bear all the responsibilities.

I hereby want to apologize to all levels of government in Yunnan province, especially the Vice governor, Ding Shaoxiang. Please forgive my ignorance and fatuity. For any reputation damage I have done to you and the government because of my ignorance, I am willing to accept the punishment. It is all my faults, I am willing to go the jail to make them up.

To build the community, we have almost consumed all funds during these years. Now more than 100 people are facing the survival crisis, I hope that Yunnan government would give us a reasonable compensation for the investments we put into the three branches since we had built them into idyllic places. We will leave Yunnan quietly as long as we are compensated reasonably. We will not do any troubles to local government, and will never say bad words to Yunnan government later.

Because in Lifechanyuan values, there are false statements about free love and sexuality, the outside world think we are sexually promiscuously, however this is not true. We never had any promiscuous activities. And the relationships between men and women do not violate Chinese constitution and laws, instead they are highly civilized. All visitors and the government officers who had visited us knew about this.

The 800 Values will be wrong values, especially the values about the disintegration of countries, political parties, religions, and families. Let us love our countries, our political parties, our religion, and our families. Let everything operate with the current system and principles.

What I need to declare is we have not done anything illegal or committed any criminal activities. We never hurt the nature, other life beings nor hurt the society. The crisis we are facing now and the hurt brought to the local government and some local people are not our original intention. Things had gotten that far and this is not what I wanted. I wish people could treat this in an objective and fair attitude. However, this is the result of my imperfection. And it is the symbol of my lack of wisdom and capability.

From now on, we will completely stop the promotion about Lifechanyuan theories and stop the development of Lifechanyuan. If the government and the general public could forgive my faults by not sending me to the prison and also give us reasonable compensation, I will deal with the survival matters for the rest of the members. Most of them are elders, children, and middle aged people who will be struggling to find a job. Since all the members’ unfavourable situation is the result of my incorrect thoughts, I will be responsible for all members’ survival issues.

If Yunnan government could send some people to give us guidance, it will be highly appreciated. We will try to retract as more articles or statements as possible that damaged the image of Yunnan government. And we want to apologize again.

My original intention was to build up a system that people live in harmony with people, society, and nature. I do not want to hurt anyone, any countries, political parties, religions, or families. However, the reality is going farther and farther from my ideal. Therefore, I am willing to give up my ideal.

That's a very honest and straightforward statement in my opinion and explains the little bit I did not understand about the foundation and origin of this spiritual community .
I feel terribly sorry we live in times that don't allow our best minds and ideals to mature . It's almost the rule of thumb .. if you come with something too good the world shows their immaturity .

People believed this 'ascension times' to arrive too many times yet, I suppose the hippies believed that in the 60s , and at the end of millennium people expected The Age of Aquarius and major expansion of human consciousness ..from temporary mediocre goals to long lasting spiritual state of awareness for all world,
then again,
everyone was waiting for 2012 to do that .

I've been here through it .. telling them it can't happen that way quite yet .. because human beings and society have to evolve almost one by one,
in slow pace and spiritual path is in fact very individualistic endeavour though it changes society at the end .

If I look at my hopes in retrospective , 20 years ago ..sure I had more faith in what could be done for and with people of this planet ..

and it's not that I lost the faith in humanity completely ,

I'm more painfully aware of how long is such process going to take in reality .

How much barbarianism and cruelty are still considered societal norm and goodness ,

how much struggle there is for rationality, normalcy , love and kindness .

If I remember there are actually several hundred members of Lifechanyuan spread throughout the four branches. These people are who my heart goes out to. Their founder and spiritual leader in this statement has said everything they have believed so profoundly the last years, gave all their worldly possessions to and worked hard labor for is a complete and utter lie and illusion.

I have seen this type of thing happen to individuals and small groups but never to several hundred. I have seen this happen on Avalon (Steve Beckow comes to mind) I hope and pray deeply that these people will receive counseling and reorientation back into reality and regular life. They will need counseling and emotional and mental help for many years. They will need to be deprogrammed.

This community was a cult in every negative sense of the word. I also believe strongly that their nightmare is not nearly over.

One of the things that sticks out in my mind is what Jena said about the information that was broadcasted by loud speakers for days and several hours a day was regarding laws of marriage and children.

In the websites and forum about this community it was clear all the members lived as one big family . . . no marriage . . . every one took care of all the children . . .there were no ‘specific parents’. The intimate relationships between the members was consensual and could be multiple partners if they so chose and that it was clearly mutual between both genders.

Logically this means that a woman or man in this community could have multiple children, either by the same partner or different partner for each child.

China has a strong and fast law of only one child to attempt to control this country's exploding population.

By the definition of China’s law, several people of Lifechanyuan and certainly (?) Xuefeng have clearly broken this law.

Ignorance or naiveté is not an excuse to breaking laws and this law is not a difficult law to understand.

This is why I pleaded with Jena to take the children and leave the community as soon as possible. Now it is too late.

I very much hope that when Jena feels like she can (if ever) and if she has the desire and personal ability that she could return to Avalon and speak of her total experience. Hind site is always 20/20 and her experience and recovery from this cult would be valuable to so many.

I also feel that her experience, understanding and actual living and interaction in this community would be extremely valuable in establishing a community in the future that would be truly successful and clear example for others to follow.

For them to make the comment that they would be leaving soon and because they have been traumatized so much not only by the government and outsiders but by their own spiritual leader I am not feeling at all comfortable with what may happen.

I have been tracking the Lifechanyuan situation since Jena's last post and it appears that the Government has increased it pressure on the residents by, for example, blocking vehicle access, cutting water pipes and removing electricity. It also appears that Xuefeng may have decided that it is a lost cause but is still trying to get some form of compensation from the Government for the residents.

This is the situation Blufire and a number of other members at Avalon were concerned with.

Below is the translation of Xuefeng's "statement" which is directed largely to the government in Yunnan province. I must admit quite a bit of concern over the last few days as the forum posts @lifechanyuan from some of the residents seemed to adopt a very ominous "we will be leaving soon" kind of feeling (though not directly stated like that and it could be the result of the language barrier). It appears that Xuefeng may have stepped in and addressed this, if it was a problem, with his below statement. I hope that is the case as it is all too easy for a charismatic leader to take his followers with him when he decides to suicide.

As I said, this does not look to be the path that Xuefeng has decided to take and I hope that remains the case.

Well, we never break the law of marriage. Because all people living here are of no marriage and we don't have any new babies in 4 years. Well, thank you for your words, beautiful sister. My experince is that I like the lifestyle of the Second Home very much, and it is a paradise for me. I feel so peaceful when knowing that we may move out from Yunnan Province soon. There're no fear, no worries and no anger in my heart. I just feel very funny to all these crazy things. My faith to the Second Home and God becomes much stronger than ever. Don't worry about us, no body will suicide here. We are very safe. I will stay as long as I can with my beloved sisters and brothers in the 4th branch. And when the time that God wants me to work in the outside for a while comes, I will follow and wait for the changes. I've seen how beautiful the future is. God's love is with us all the time.

I have been thinking deeply about Jena and her communities scenario and would like to address a couple of things in the light of gaining wisdom.

Firstly I did make private communications with Jena yesterday afternoon and she has since replied in the above posts reassuring PA members that she and her community are well and are keeping a level head of thinking and forward planning for their future.

Perhaps it is a Western mentality from over stimulation of negative movies and negative news agendas that encourages minds to sometimes run away with bouncing syllables of thoughts on dire scenarios expecting the worst. I am glad that Jena has replied to reassure those who were worried that suicide or many love babies or guru sexual favours are NOT part of her community’s scenario.

When one is in a compassionate heart neutral state of mindfulness (Bridge Consciousness or higher) we are invisibly energetically and consciously interconnected with those that we love and care about; no matter where in the world or physical distance, consciously we are still connected and will intuitively KNOW whether all is well or foresee prior to it, if it is not. There is a lesson here for all of us to observe; If our logical mind starts becoming consumed with myriads of worries that later turn out to be unsound, it gives us an opportunity to see and understand the mechanics as to how one slipped out of the natural loving conscious flow of knowingness and became captured in thought scenarios that were not valid or so.

Secondly, I am sending my deepest love to Xuefeng for having the love, courage, honesty and humility to write and explain his present realisations – it could not have been easy to own up to his mistakes and I am sure such realisations have been devastating to him, he understands his responsibility – this is a major dark night of the Soul. Anyone who has perused the spiritual path will know there are many lessons and initiations and ego traps one can fall down along the journey. He is neither the first, nor the last to mistaken what the Higher Conscious Rays mean, so many in history mistook such high consciousness and energy into believing they were a chosen great messenger/saviour appointed by God or are the reincarnation of Buddha, Jesus, Isis, Merlin the saints etc, etc.... YET very, very few ever had the courage to admit their interpretations and conclusions were misguided. I give a deep humble bow to Xuefeng because his actions show the strength and self honesty that is the makings of a loving honourable leader, a soulful compassionate drive that will make a difference for the betterment of all who are in his reality.

The process as I see it, he is in the middle of a great spiritual initiation of the dark night of the soul that many great souls have gone through and overcome over Time. On the other side of this initiation when Self is re-birthed a new, he will be so much wiser as to the present ‘rules/laws’ of this physical reality and understand with clear sight how he can work within these parameters to promote greater balance; he will be wiser and more mindful in his actions and expressions and more importantly have a deeper inner connectedness to his true Self and God Source with greater clarity. All those in the community will also be going through similar initiations. It would not go amiss if we sent supportive compassion to them all as they shift consciously through these realisations and changes within themselves. What they were able to achieve as a community living in a communist country bound by so many stringent rules is quite a marvel and shows their bravery. And although their present dream has been sadly interrupted with negative agendas, each one of them that has participated in these communities I am sure has had life changing experiences of how a loving and supporting community ‘can’ flourish in an ideal world. They all will be so much wiser and in harmony within themselves for such experiences.

My perceptions of Xuefeng have grown deeper in compassion for him – I have no doubt that he will do all that he possibly can to assist all the loving gentle folk in his community, doing whatever is in his means to make sure they will be okay wherever that may be. He is NOT in my eyes responsible for the Chinese Government’s agendas or the lies his and generations before him have been fed to believe. Awaking to the realisation that governments serve themselves and NOT for the betterment of their people is a bitter herb to swallow. It is a realisation that all on their spiritual journey realise along the way, and ignorance is always forgivable.

I have always seen Xuefeng as a good soul endeavouring to bring more light to this world and do what he can to bring positive solutions that will help to change all this unnecessary human suffering. I do not believe he ever had bad intentions of usury. His vision for me was spiritually beautiful where:-

(1) Each person has free will and ownership of their physical body (no forced marriages etc).

(2) Each person has free will to choose to live harmoniously with the land and sustainably grow and eat healthy food.

(3) Each person has free will to choose to live in harmony with others in a community that loves and supports each other, nurturing the children and caring for their wise elderly; (something that rarely occurs these days in the western culture and we wonder why we have a volatile and suicidal youth problems or the elderly abandoned, silently starving to death in care homes and hospitals – this is what happens when community spirit breaks down).

(4) Each person has a free will to choose and engage in the inward journey of reconnecting to their Soul Path, re-remembering their Greater Self and communion with Source.

One would like to think pointers 1 - 4 are common basic human rights – a child would find it incomprehensible that such basic, logical and pure reasoning ideals are deemed a threat to the governments – who prefer for us to live in perpetual fear and servitude.

(5) Xuefeng foresaw Earth changes coming and on the other side of this a civilised era. Many around the world have ‘sensed’ this. For decades intelligent scientists, high ranking whistleblowers and military contactees and remote viewers ALL were foreseeing numerous doomsday possibilities where our planet’s infrastructures could break down in a moment by various Space Weathers events; and also concerned about a natural Galactic Wave that would begin to arrive around 2012 – many suspected this would heighten conscious awareness. IF such possible extinction level event scenarios play out, the chances of humans surviving on the surface isolated from each other in their match box homes is very slim – supportive community living will most likely be the productive way of moving forward into the future. AND, as I see it, in this present timeline of planet Earth we are not yet home and dry, out in the clear, many such scenarios are still possible, and this timeline (fortunately) is unfolding at a slower expected pace giving humanity ‘grace time’ to consciously wake up and make a difference.

So we have Space Weather to consider, there is also another thing to add into this mix:- there are controlling Inter-dimensional Beings and the elite human families of Earth who are endorsing their long focused agenda to cull the population count via numerous means of ‘wildlife management’ for many decades now. We all need to get as savvy, sovereign and spiritually connected to who we really BE, these will be our strengths to guide us through such challenging times IF such events unfold. Jumping into fear is not the answer, we must hold strong re-remembering who we BE and consciously walking in all our footsteps that we are Eternal Beings – if this world/reality washed away today, we would still be Eternal Beings exploring another playground.


Over the last 20 years I have seen many communities come and go around the world. Putting aside the government politics agendas/attitudes towards communities, there is something I observed regularly with those I knew who were living in communities who were preparing for one shape or form of an Earth change scenario. And that is, there is a tendency in their busyness to prepare and become so self absorbed in their own self preservation that they isolate themselves from the outside world and humanity, become highly secretive and also dispassionate and arrogant that ‘they are all right Jack’ type of attitude. I find this curious, because this mentality kind of mirrors the elite’s mentality of being the ‘chosen ones’ preparing and hiding in their deep undergrounds.

So many communities have arisen with the common theme of surviving into the coming Golden Age, the Spiritual Age, the Age of Aquarius (or whatever one labels it) as an AGE of spiritual enlightenment, where everyone lovingly supports and celebrates each other’s uniqueness where illness’, poverty and wars were left behind in the old world. I often pondered on this, for in my simple mind of pure reasoning, to arrive into such a beautiful harmonious ideal surely we have to be frequency specific to this to enter? How does isolating and ‘separating’ oneself saving ‘one’s arse’ drive the gears closer to UNION with each other? It mystifies me....anyway it is just a thought I will leave it there for others if they so choose to ponder.

So to conclude my post, it is important to be consciously aware that when new realisations or epiphanies arrive to us, to throw out the old and obsolete that is limited and serves no purpose in our growth and evolution, YET to be mindful and wise not to be over zealous and throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I am glad that you have said that mass suicide does not appear to be part of your communities future Jena.

I am not a member of your communities portal/forum, nor am I a member of any non-profession based forum other than Avalon.

As I have said previously, I have read much of the Lifechanyuan literature and there is a definite thread in that literature that makes group suicide a possibility. The comments on the lifechanyuan website by members about giving their life for Xuefeng (in this thread you have said that you would give your life to protect Xuefeng) also indicates a level of dedication to your teacher which may be culturally acceptable in China but are seen as signs of possible indoctrination within Western cultures.

At no time, that I'm aware of, has a group who have committed mass suicide clearly said they would before hand. When their literature was viewed after the event, and their final correspondences read, sometimes it was clear what was going to occur, other times not so much.

This was also why I was concerned about your group. Having read the 800 Values and much of the other literature it was not a big step for justification of group suicide if there was no way out of either a confrontation with the government or group failure.

I have always seen Xuefeng as a good soul endeavouring to bring more light to this world and do what he can to bring positive solutions that will help to change all this unnecessary human suffering. I do not believe he ever had bad intentions of usury. His vision for me was spiritually beautiful where:-

(1) Each person has free will and ownership of their physical body (no forced marriages etc).

(2) Each person has free will to choose to live harmoniously with the land and sustainably grow and eat healthy food.

(3) Each person has free will to choose to live in harmony with others in a community that loves and supports each other, nurturing the children and caring for their wise elderly; (something that rarely occurs these days in the western culture and we wonder why we have a volatile and suicidal youth problems or the elderly abandoned, silently starving to death in care homes and hospitals – this is what happens when community spirit breaks down).

(4) Each person has a free will to choose and engage in the inward journey of reconnecting to their Soul Path, re-remembering their Greater Self and communion with Source.

One would like to think pointers 1 - 4 are common basic human rights – a child would find it incomprehensible that such basic, logical and pure reasoning ideals are deemed a threat to the governments – who prefer for us to live in perpetual fear and servitude.

(5) Xuefeng foresaw Earth changes coming and on the other side of this a civilised era. Many around the world have ‘sensed’ this. For decades intelligent scientists, high ranking whistleblowers and military contactees and remote viewers ALL were foreseeing numerous doomsday possibilities where our planet’s infrastructures could break down in a moment by various Space Weathers events; and also concerned about a natural Galactic Wave that would begin to arrive around 2012 – many suspected this would heighten conscious awareness. IF such possible extinction level event scenarios play out, the chances of humans surviving on the surface isolated from each other in their match box homes is very slim – supportive community living will most likely be the productive way of moving forward into the future. AND, as I see it, in this present timeline of planet Earth we are not yet home and dry, out in the clear, many such scenarios are still possible, and this timeline (fortunately) is unfolding at a slower expected pace giving humanity ‘grace time’ to consciously wake up and make a difference.

So to conclude my post, it is important to be consciously aware that when new realisations or epiphanies arrive to us, to throw out the old and obsolete that is limited and serves no purpose in our growth and evolution, YET to be mindful and wise not to be over zealous and throw out the baby with the bathwater.

For the last five years since the Second Home was established, from the permaculture practices, the care of elders, and the education of children, and from the level of freedom of each individual to our love to the nature and all life beings, the Second Home undoubtedly represents the civilized culture and lifestyle. At the mean time, however, we also have many problems and defects. When I reflect the current situation, I realized the rationality of the disbandment plan by the government.

The current problems of the Second Home are as follows:

1. Many people live together for a long time with no registration at the relevant government department, which is beyond government’s management scope, and brought difficulties and troubles for the government, and it has caused that government policies cannot be implemented in the community. So it would not work from the perspective of the government’s administration. If there are more and more societal cells like the Second Home, the government will not be able to manage them effectively, and this will cause a terrible result to our country.

2. Although the Second Home has a school and we are trying our best to give the best education to the children, the school and the country’s education system are not connected. Many questions raised by the local education department are reasonable; at least, we lack enough extracurricular books. The latest education methods and policies cannot be implemented in the community school. If things continue this way, it is a risk that our children are not connected to the society.

3. There are no marriage and family in the Second Home, but in a normal society, marriage and family are not only a custom for thousands of years, but also the primary element of maintaining the stability of a society and a country. When we think of the development of civilization, marriage and family will eventually disappear, but the relations of production of the current society have not reached a level that we can widely promote the idea and lifestyle that marriage and family disappear, since this will give the society a hard blow. Going too far is as bad as not going far enough; the thoughts and behaviours that surpass the reality will not only damage the stability of the society, but also do harm to many people. Sometimes we think that those people’s thinking is backward when they say that we have broken their family, but in fact, we do hurt some family members of the celestials. We often say that we should put ourselves in others’ shoes; when I think from the perspective of those people, my God! The Second Home is wrong, and Xuefeng has sins! For example, the wife of one celestial blames me very often on internet, why? Because the Second Home has hurt her feeling, if the Second Home did not exist, she could have a happy family life with her husband. Where there are irrationality and unfairness, there are complaints and resistance. This is an obvious example; I do not know how many other family members of the Second Home residents are blaming me, hating me, and hating the Second Home.

According to the above three problems, the disbandment plan carried out by the local governments is reasonable. Disbanding us is already a quite mercy and generous. If we could not realize this, and always think that we are right and the local government are wrong,we ourselves are not rational and civilized.

If we could not resolve the above three problems, there is no future for the development of the Second Home. If there is huge difference between the ideal and reality, this kind of ideal will definitely die young.

We need to cooperate with the local government to properly resolve the current issue. If it is still possible (to set up a community) in the future, the Second Home must register with the certain government department. Also, it needs to be running in the form of an economic entity. And the operation of the Second Home must be within the framework of the government management. And we should not have home school, and all children should go to the schools that education department has approved. Moreover, any member who wants to live in the Second Home must take good care of parents first and raise their children up. In the meantime, any permanent residents need to meet one of the following three criteria:

1. Single
2. Divorced before becoming a Chanyuan celestial
3. For any couple, they need to join the community together

I wish all the brothers and sisters in the community could realize the rationality of the disbandment measure carried out by the local governments, and actively cooperate with the local government. If you still have home to go back, please go back to your home. Only by doing this, can the community still have hope. Otherwise, the Second Home will surely disappear, and it would not work no matter where we go.

Do not hate the government because they cut our power and water, and damaged our road. We should become good citizens first."

Report the Current Situation of the Second Home to the Society

The Second Home of Lifechanyuan has been established for nearly five years. Currently we have five branches. The 1st branch is in Anning city, the Yunnan Province of China. The 2nd branch is in Canada. And because the person in charge is still doing her studies so the establishment has been postponed. The 3rd branch is in Chuxiong city, the Yunnan Province of China, and it had been disbanded. The 4th branch is in Lincang city, the Yunnan Province China. And the 5th branch is in Japan. Currently the existing physical ones are the 1st, 4th, and 5th branch.

Besides the 5th branch, there were a total of 180 people at the most. Because the local governments do not understand us and want to disband us, currently there are less than 80 person left in the 1st and 4th branch. Within these members there are about 20 person will go out for work very soon. The left of 60 person will be homeless.

Since the disbandment plan carried out by the local governments, there is no any Chanyuan celestial willing to quit Lifechanyuan. Also, there is no any permanent residents in the Second Home would like to leave. Some went home with no choice and some went out for work.

For the last five years since the establishment of the Second Home, we have not done anything illegal or committed any criminal activities. Also, we have not done anything spooky to the society or anything harmful to the Chinese nation and state interest. Because of this, the local government did not determine the nature of the Second Home as an “illegal organization” or a “cult”. They just think the Second Home might become an unstable and a disharmony factor for the society in future.

The production and life mode of the Second Home have lead the current society at least thirty years. This is why the local governments and the general public could not understand us. But if you come and investigate the Second home, you will come to the conclusion that the Second Home represents human beings’ new culture and new life mode. The government and the general public will understand and support us eventually.

As the founder of Lifechanyuan and the new lifestyle of the Second Home, I hope that all the wise and sages in the government and society will be able to help us get out of difficulties and not to let this new life mode disappear. Because this new life mode is related to the future of China and the entire humanity, and it is also related to the future of yourself. The Second Home community is by no means a group of the illiterate, on the contrary, this is a highly civilized group of people who are diligent, kind, honest, simple, trustworthy, and selfless.

The difficulties we currently face are: the first branch is hard to sustain under the conditions that the water and electricity are at shortage, and the road is damaged and blocked. Although the normal supply of water and electricity are also cut in the fourth branch, we can still manage to stay there for another two or three months. However, we have invested all the funds contributed by Chanyuan celestial to the building of the community, which has a value more than 20 million RMB, but we cannot get any compensation for the disbandment. We only have just enough funds to cover the transportation for members to go back to the society to work or go home. Other than this, we have come to the situation that it is very difficult for us to move a step and we do not yet have the financial capability to start another new home.

We have taken the lesson this time, and in future, we will comply with Chinese regulations and laws. We have given all Chanyuan Corpus and Xuefeng Corpus to the government. And we have closed our home school; we are also willing to disassemble all unauthorised buildings, in short, we will follow and support the directive of the government.

The help we need is: can anybody lend us a farming land (size: a few hundred mu) so that we can do organic farming. We do not have enough funds to pay the deposit for the rent now, and we only have the skills and labour. If you are willing to help us go through this difficulty, we will for sure give you a rich return.

Well, yes, thank the local goverments that they told us that the governments will not give us any compensation because we are dissolving by our own decision. On January 29, we received a notice from the Linxiang People's District Court about the acceptance of the lawsuit between the Lincang City Forestry Burea and us. It will begin in just over one month, on March 4th. So we are now preparing for lawsuit and looking for new places to start our homes again.

President Xiao of the military department asked branch director Xintao and Xuefeng's assistant Hengde to go out and talk with him, however Xintao replied that if he wants to talk, he should do it in the community, that there was no need to leave the community, and we hoped the government could solve the problem of power, water, and road first, otherwise no conversation would be necessary. Later, all members took an attitude of nonviolence and noncooperation, and did not cooperate with their investigation. They stayed until 4:45 PM and left gradually.

Fenghuang Xia, one place of the 1st branch: Around 2:20 PM, sixteen officers from the Anning military department, the police office of QInglong town, and other government agencies, came with one police car and four government cars and tried to persuade and require all members to return home again. We responded that the issue of our loss of water and power had not yet been resolved.

The 4th branch: At 4:00 PM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came to share their thoughts after reading the new article that Guide Xuefeng wrote, "Xuefeng’s Reflection, Self-deprecation, Confession, and Apology" :

1.Since founder Xuefeng accepts without doubt the fact that the Second Home will be disbanded now, they said that how this happens could not be decided by any single individual's desire. If the Second Home were to develop, it could turn bad and could do huge harm to society. For example, the "Falun Gong" was very good and they taught people to be good citizens in the beginning, but later they harmed society. If Founder Xuefeng did not accept as many Chanyuan celestials as he did, the Second Home might be not facing such a difficult situation.

2.They stated their hope that founder Xuefeng will be able to initiate a solution for each branch of the Second Home. They emphasized that the Yunnan provincial government will not disband the entire community at the same time, but in accordance with the individual situation at each branch.

3.If we worry about founder Xuefeng's personal safety, they said that they can accompany him and take responsible for him.

4.About the penalty from the Lincang Forest Bureau which mentioned tearing down all the buildings after February 5th, they suggested that we make some preparations for it, such as selling our physical equipment. They also said that the local governments can help us to sell it in order to minimize our losses.

5.They hoped that founder Xuefeng will file a report about the dissolution of the three branches of the Second Home in order to let them report to their higher authorities on the disbanding of the whole community. The profile needs to include the investment we have put into the building of our three branches and the remainder of our rent.

6.If any members have homes to return to, they are strongly advised to do so before the Chinese New Year. As for the media, they hoped that founder Xuefeng would tell web staff to not contact the foreign media any longer so as not to enable the international anti-China forces.

Then they left at 5:00 PM.

The broadcasting started from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM, then restarted from 2:15 PM till 5:00 PM.

The 1st branch: around 10:00 AM, about ten people from the Wenquan Town police office came and said they were required to investigate every resident here. Under the cooperation of the assistant manager, all members accepted the inspection. They mainly came to investigate their basic backgrounds and the requirements and thoughts of each member. During the whole process, they worked with a friendly attitude. After the investigation, they left at around 2:00 PM, but at around 3:30 PM, five or six people came to inspect the houses of Jinxin Yuan and Shenxian Yuan. They left at 6:00 PM.

The road leading leading down the hill is still under construction and vehicles cannot pass through.

Fenghuang Xia (part of the 1st branch): 10:00 AM, six local police officers from Qinglong Town went to register one of our members. After 2:30 PM, the woman landlord, Zhang Guiding came with government people and used rulers to measure the sizes of our houses.

The 4th branch: the broadcasting started from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM, then restarted from 2:15 PM till 5:00 PM.

January 22, 2014

The 1st branch: around 2:00 PM, three officers from the Public Security Bureau and the National Security Team of Anning City came, met with our assistant manager, and collected information on the thoughts and spiritual states of our current members.

At the same time, they required us to register whenever we travel down the mountain and an identifying paper issued by the village committee must be shown when coming back if people did not register before going down. Vehicles cannot go through.

Fenghuang Xia (a place of 1st branch): Around 10:00 AM, the woman landlord brought twelve people who were identified as her unemployed relatives and announced her intention to reclaim land and then left. Two police officers came to see the situation and then left. The twelve remaining “relatives” went outside and brought their lunches in. Then, without our permission, they took a table and several chairs out from the kitchen, had lunch, drank water, and played cards in the yard. They stayed until 3:00 PM and left in a white car. The license plate number of the car is 云A.736WW.

The 4th branch: around 10:15 AM, two officers from the Forest Public Security Bureau came to get founder Xuefeng's thoughts. They felt very pleased when learning that founder Xuefeng had accepted the government’s disbandment of the Second Home. They personally showed regret about having to tear down these buildings. With regards to our request to postpone the date of tearing down those buildings, they told us that they could not make such a decision and could not comment about it either.

We printed and gave them copies of our latest articles, "Xuefeng’s Reflection, Self-deprecation, Confession, and Apology" and "Understand Deeply the Rationale Why the Government Wants to Disband the Second Home", and they left at about 11:00 AM.

Around 6:00 PM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came again and sat in on our study meeting.

Founder Xuefeng printed our requirements to the local government for them. Our main requirements are that they cancel the penalty from the Forest Public Security Bureau and return the investments we had put into building our three branches, and that they postpone the date for tearing down our buildings to give us two months to gradually move out from the 4th branch.They left around 9 PM.

The broadcasting started from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM, then restarted from 1:45 PM till 2:40 PM.

January 23, 2014

The 1st branch: Around 4:00 PM, three officers from the Wenquan police office came and asked if any people were going to leave to return to their homes outside the community before the Spring Festival. If so, the government would be willing to pay for their train tickets. After realizing that nobody wanted to leave before the Spring Festival, they left at around 5:00 PM.

Fenghuang Xia (a place of 1st branch): Around 10:00 AM, Landlord Zhang Guiqiong came with eight relatives, had a rude attitude and destroyed the flower stand at the gate. At noon, they had lunch just outside the gate. At 1:30 PM, a brother of the landlord drove a vehicle into the yard and began to remove the fireworks they had placed in the storeroom earlier. Their relatives helped with the goods and one elderly women remained to watch. At 2:35 PM, they came a second time. After taking all the fireworks, Zhang Guiding and her brother removed both a decoration plate and the address plate off the gate and took them away. They all left at 2:50 PM. At 6:00 PM, we went out to get some water and found that the only life water source had been buried by them. We returned with no water.

The 4th branch: the Lincang City Culture and Sport Bureau came to give us a legal notice which mentioned that "Chanyuan Corpus" and "Xuefeng Corpus" do not have legal publication rights, so we have to hand in these books to them before January 29.

January 24, 2014

The 1st branch: Around 11:00 AM, Mr. Luo, vice president of the Anning Public Security Bureau, along with five or six officers from the Wenquan Town police office and National Security Team came again to persuade members to leave. Mr. Luo made a public speech to all members, announcing that we have done many illegal things and that the Second Home of Lifechanyuan is absolutely not allowed to exist in Yunnan province any more, and that it would be best for everyone to leave as soon as possible. Mr. Luo and his entourage left at noon.

Fenghuang Xia (a place of 1st branch): Around 10:50 AM, Fenghuang Xia: landlord Zhang Guiding drove thirteen people including her relatives and some villagers to our production area and said they wanted to tear down the shade shed. Branch Director Shengong said it was illegal and that if she dares to attempt to do so, he will defend it. Then, Zhang stopped. At 11:20 AM, she came back with gasoline, a pump, and big water pipes, and told her people to pump the water out of our big tank. Director Shengong used a shovel and threw these pipes out of the gate. At that moment, the lunch which had been ordered by the landlord arrived and was brought into the yard. They took the food outside the gate and ate. At 11:40 AM, our assistant manager and a driver came back, because the food blocked the road, Shengong threw the box lunches onto the road and a young man who comes every day called the police.

At noon, three local police officers came to take photos and investigate the situation. Shengong said that “They buried the only water source we had yesterday, this morning we can only get water from the dirty water sink and cook food after disinfecting it with alkali. Moreover, they want to take all the water from our only sink. They are going too far! These are the water pipes, gasoline and machines, they also want to tear down our shade shed. Yesterday they already removed our flower stand and destroyed the signs on our gate. Yesterday we called you, but you answered that you could not handle this and never came. We cannot live in such a situation, please take photos of the destroyed water source. Two police officers then followed the director, assistant manager, and our driver, while another two officers went to take photos of the place. One of them said that such behavior is wrong. Another police officer photographed the sink in the yard after returning back, and some photos of the water we had disinfected with alkali. One of them said that this is not the real reason, the core reason is that we want to you to leave. At 12:30 PM, Qinglong town sent many police officers to maintain order and let our assistant manager talk with the landlord about the contract. Founder Xuefeng's assistant, Hengde said that if you (the government) pay us the ¥2,000,000 RMB we had requested as compensation to the members of the 1st branch, we would leave at once.

At the same time, the elderly matriarch of the landlord’s relatives stepped out and accused director Shengong of hitting her. Shengong said that the police officers are here, everybody is here, and that you should not lie. I did not touch you at all. If I did, you can beat me to death now, publicly, before the policemen. The police then asked all of them leave. All the police officers left at around 2:30 PM.

The 1st branch: Around 10:10 AM, Mr. Luo, vice president of the Anning City Public Security Bureau, secretary of Anning city political and lawful committee, local officer of Wenquan town came and questioned all members of 1st branch individually, asking questions such as: Do you want to go back home? When will you go back home and what are your requests and needs? Mr. Luo also had a public discussion with us, the main topics were:

1.Why the government needs to disband the Second Home
2.What illegal things we had done
3.That the present situation of this community is absolutely not allowed to continue in Yunnan province.

Therefore, he hoped that everyone will leave soon!

January 26, 2014

Fenghuang Xia (a place of 1st branch): around 2:30 PM, landlord Zhang and her sister drove in again. The assistant and our driver were not their. Around 3:00 PM, Police officer Yinbaoping who is responsible for Qinglong Town, along with another two officers, came, director Shengong opened the gate. They came to bring us a medical bill from the Anning People’s hospital, but it had no doctor’s signature or hospital stamp. The bill stated that our guide had suffered a broken bone. Shengong said that the water pipe was buried but you took no action, that we had called you many times but you never gave us justice. You are now only writing about the event, you are a disgrace to your police uniform. Other members stated as witnesses that her injuries were mainly because she exerted her energy on destroying the shade shed, director Shengong had not touch her at all. The people here are among the most civilized on earth. At 3:50 PM, officer Yin and other two policemen left.

The 4th branch: Around 6:00 PM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came to check whether any members had left and to gather detailed information about them, including their names and ID numbers. They also told us that the government will not give us any compensation because we are dissolving by our own decision. As friends of our community, they personally suggested that we should initiate a request that the remainder of our rent be returned to us in order to minimize our losses. Also, as it is near the Chinese New Year, they hoped that founder Xuefeng will do something to persuade the remaining members to go back their civil homes and also to take good care of himself. They said that they would come again soon.

January 27, 2014

The 1st branch: at 11:50 PM, one of our members, Huiguang celestial was watching the generator when a sudden blast of noise came from the tent. He got dressed, took a flashlight, and went out to check. Five or six young men stood in front of him, two or three of them were holding sticks in their hands and shouted at him to, “Turn off the light! Go back to your tent! Who are you, where did you come from? What are you doing here? You cannot pump the water here, do you know? Take out your ID! Do you not know this is all a forest, what if there is a fire?” One of them kept shining a light in Huiguang’s eyes with the light while two other people took the generator out and destroyed it. Then they escaped quickly, but before leaving they destroyed a chair and said to, “be fast”. Altogether, the event lasted several minutes. Concerned for his personal safety, Huiguang did not fight with them. They all spoke Mandarin and were not tall.

The 1st branch: At 4:00 PM, six or seven people from the Anning Culture, Sports, Television, and Broadcast bureau came and checked our collection of copies of “Chanyuan Corpus”, “Xuefeng Corpus”, and “800 Values for New Era Human Being”.

The 4th branch: The members gather all our copies of "Chanyuan Corpus", "Xuefeng Corpus" and "800 Values for New Era Human Beings" together for a total of 519 books, and we sent these books to the office of the Law Enforcement on Culture Department in Linxiang District of Lincang City. They received the books and gave us a receipt, putting those books in a dark corner in abandoned switch room.

January 29, 2014

The 4th branch: Today, we received a notice from the Linxiang People's District Court about the acceptance of the lawsuit between the Lincang City Forestry Burea and us. It will begin in just over one month, on March 4th, 2014.

January 30, 2014 (Chinese New Year's Eve)

The 4th branch: At 11:00 AM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau, the team leader for maintaining public order, and two colleagues who are a couple came to the 4th branch, bringing some snacks and fruit to our children. They still gave us the same suggestions about the persuasion and disbandment. They left at noon.

January 31, 2014 (Chinese New Year)

The 4th branch: One of our members came from the 1st branch to the 4th branch. Half an hour after he arrived, the vice leader of the local police station along with two police officers came to investigate the member, and to ask him why he came back.

February 1, 2014

The 4th branch: Around 8:00 AM, the headmaster of our home school took five children to the 1st branch.

Around 1:00 PM, three reporters from the New York Times were successful in arriving at the 4th branch.They interviewed some members along with founder Xuefeng. The whole process took about four hours and they left soon after.

February 2, 2014

The 1st branch: at 3:45 PM, four people who identified themselves as officers from the street office of Wenquan Town came. When they arrived in the 1st branch, they asked why we still had water and how many people we still had, they then went to check the water in our storage tank, and left after ten minutes.

The 4th branch: Around 11:00 AM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came, and one of them toured the 4th branch to look for outsiders. They also asked us to provide information about the members who had returned to their secular homes.

February 7, 2014

The 1st branch: around 10:15 AM, four officers from the Forestry Department came and wandered around our community. They said that they had come to check our preparedness for fire prevention. They left at about 10:30 AM. Around 3:30 PM, two officers from the local office of Wenquan Town came and asked the branch director the exact number of people remaining and when will they leave. They left about thirty minutes later.

February 9, 2014

The 4th branch: Around 10:00 AM, two officers from the Forest Public Security Bureau came and told us:

1. We can pay part of the penalty of ¥168,012 RMB first.
2.Though the Linxiang People's District Court has accepted our the lawsuit, they can still tear down the buildings. They can help us sell our physical equipment in order to minimize our losses.

February 10, 2014

The 4th branch: Around 11:00 AM, our Wi-Fi service in the 4th branch was disrupted by the local governments.

Around 4:00 PM, three representatives from the Linxiang People's District Court came to the 4th branch to deliver a forensic subpoena to us and one of them video recorded the delivery. They told us that the land upon which the 4th branch is located has three landlords: the technical school, Mr Xielin and Zhang Tianmi. The technical school sued Mr Xielin and Zhang Tianmi for taking the liberty of renting the land to our founder Xuefeng, while not getting the approval of the technical school. The technical school asks Mr Xielin and Zhang Tianmi to dissolve the contract and restore the land to its original condition and pay breach of contract damages. Because founder Xuefeng was involved as a third party, the lawsuit will begin on March 12, 2014.

Also, because of this, they had delayed our lawsuit with the Lincang City Forestry Bureau by one day, to March 13, 2014. Around 6:00 PM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came to check the latest information about the remaining members and to get founder Xuefeng's thoughts. They told us again that we must never increase the number of members living in the 4th branch and asked founder Xuefeng to deal with the progress as quickly as possible. They also suggested that we should leave some members in the 1st branch through the remainder of our rent, including both the 3rd and the 4th branches. They also told us that we must leave the 4th branch soon because once the court adjudicates upon the case, those villagers will come to cause trouble soon and that they will not be able to do anything to stop them. They then left at 9:00 PM.

February 11, 2014

The 1st branch: At 3:00 PM, three officers from the National Security Team came and asked the five children's name and their basic information. They left after twenty minutes.

February 12, 2014

The 1st branch: In the morning, several officers from the local office of Wenquan Town came to see the latest situation in the 1st branch. They left after five minutes.

February 13, 2014

The 1st branch: Around 8:30 AM, five web staff members arrived at the 1st branch because of our Wi-Fi at the 4th branch being blocked.

February 14, 2014

The 4th branch: Around 4:00 PM, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order came again to ask us to provide information about those members who had left including their names and ID numbers. They emphasized that we must prepare for the disbandment as soon as possible. Around 5:00 PM, they left. After they left, we knew that the team leader for maintaining public order asked one of our children, who is 14 years old, some questions, such as "Do you want to go to the outside school?" "Do you live in this room by yourself?" " Are you afraid when sleeping alone?"

As of today, forty-four of our members have moved to Gesaer Farm and Kataier Farm in Northern China and we have 17 members remaining in the 1st branch and 15 members in the 4th branch. Eight of these 32 people will go to the Farms in Northern China and the rest are preparing to move to Nanhua Farm in Eastern China. Our home’s school has been closed, and the dozen children who had been living here are going with their parents and grandparents and will be enrolling in public schools. The Second Home will temporarily disappear at the end of this month. Our first project will be to integrate our life model into the farms.

Well, the deputy director of the Lincang City Public Security Bureau and the team leader for maintaining public order suggested us to withdraw our lawsuit with the Lincang City Forestry for we are deciding to move out from the 4th branch now. Because I'm now living in the 1st branch, I'm also waiting for the new info of it.

I sent some e-mails but didn't get any replies yet. Other sisters don't share any replies, either. But these days, some oversea friends would like to invite some of our members to their countries to build more about our communities. Guide Xuefeng also considers about that. I'm not very sure about it but always full of hope and dream.;)

As to home schooling, unfortunately there are other countries around the world who do not permit this too;, I think Germany is one of them. Children learn by example and I am sure 'after school hours' they will continue to grow into beautiful minded thoughtful people. I remind myself there is always room for change......

I have camped in tents many times, it can be a very spiritual experience sleeping among Nature, the constant fresh air, hearing the leaves rustle in the breeze and having the moon shine through the tent canvas. And of course it is sleeping under the stars that I have heard spoken such starlight assists in activating our spiritual DNA. If true, this is rather beautiful. :angel:

Hi dear sister, yes, we need to change some of our living style. I also feel grateful that I can still live with my beloved sisters and brothers together. That's enough for me. Praise God. Seems a fairly well planned region that uses mainstream agricultural practices as far as I can work out from the limited material I've found. It's a big step forward from some of the horror stories I remember reading about Chinese agriculture not that long ago.

Must admit I haven't found anything on the other 2 farms so was curious if you know what the main crops are in the Northern Chinese farms you mentioned?

Hi dear Pan, I'm sorry that I can tell little about the 3 farms. Till now, I only know that the North Farms are the orchards. We may grow vegetables there. Don't feel bad, when knowing God is always with me, my heart feels very peaceful. When reading those news on line every day, I can tell China becomes much crazier now.

Just now, one of our members in the 4th branch told me that we had withdrawn the lawsuit and paid the fine of fine of ¥4,000. We may move out from the 4th branch on March 16th. Give up our loved home and Withdraw from Yunnan

Because of the strong pressure exerted from Yunnan Provincial Government, which had been claimed by some local police officers and verified by different sources during the process of the disbandment, we concluded that the disbandment decision is not only from the provincial government but also the Public Security Department of Central Government. We were also told clearly by some police officers that Lifechanyuan had been defined as “illegal organization” internally in Public Security System for a long time. Although the number of Lifechanyuan members is very small and not as influential as Falun Gong, they think its values and new lifestyle are against the government management and not accepted by the general public, therefore Lifechanyuan could develop into a big threat and become an unstable element to the security of Chinese society.

Upon above reasons, we decided to comply with the government’s decision and withdraw from our 1st and 4th branch after the Chinese Spring Festival, to avoid any potential bigger problems and difficulties. Still we have not received any legal official disbandment documents; all requirements on disbandment are delivered by the Public Security supervisors orally. They required the Second Home to leave Yunnan as early as possible, and at the same time they claimed clearly that there would be no compensation to the community or members.

Although we love our home very much, and have put our hearts, money, energy, and wisdom into the creation and building of our loved home in the past four and half years, and we believe that we have successfully realized the ideal dreamed by human beings for thousands of years -- establish a new life mode to realize the utopian that everyone live a happy, free, and harmonious life on earth. We believe this big crisis happens for a reason and it could be a very important lesson for us to learn. Therefore we decided to follow the arrangement of Tao because there is no meaning to oppose the government. The most important thing is to protect all members and make them a safe survival，therefore we are willing to give up what we have created by heart and leave our beautiful home with no hatred and complaints. People are the most precious wealth of the community, and we can start from scratch again. From the middle of December, 2013 to today (March 23, 2014), 95% members of the Second Home have withdrawn from the community, and the remaining 16 members will leave in two weeks.

Spent Two months to find New Residences and Arrange Resettlement

From mid-December, 2013 to January, 2014 (before Chinese Spring Festival), we sent 32 members to work in three places of the East and Northwest China. On a basis of voluntary wills, they are expected to support the community by sharing part of their salary every month, to help the big family through financial crisis. At the same time, around 25 members went home (including 5 children), most of whom went back to deal with heir family issues, and some were called back by the families. (In January, 2014, Yunnan Police Security Department sent fax to the police offices of every members’ hometown, and required their support on the persuasion of calling members back home.）

Except above members, around 80 people including 20 aged were still left in the community and had no places to go. To find new homes for these people, around eight members were sent out to look for properties in the Northwest and East China since January. Till the end of February, two farms were confirmed in the far Northwest. Then 40 people were sent there successively, and lots of life materials were packed and delivered there by two large trucks from Yunnan.

In February, 2014, we found another opportunity of developing a large ecological project in the East, with 50-acre area we can be engaged to develop a new ecological garden by cooperating with the land owner. Till today, 14 members were sent there already to start the preparation work, and the remaining 16 members will arrive in two weeks. Therefore we have three new homes now.

The Disappearance of The Second Home and Our Future Plan

On March 17, Xuefeng, the founder of Lifechanyuan and 14 members left the 4th branch located in Lincang, Yunnan to new residences of the northwest and east. It marks the largest ecovillage and intentional community -- the Second Home established by Lifechanyuan for near five years disappears temporarily in Yunnan and China.

From the experiences in this severe event, we have taken lessons and therefore decide to change our focus in the below aspects in the future:

1. We will give up establishing a new lifestyle like the Second Home in China at this stage, and changing the project direction to organic farming, aquaculture, and ecotourism etc.
2. We will strictly follow the laws and rules of government，we will be very cautious to ensure that all activities of the farms are in the scope of the government’s management.
3. Since the political environment of China is not suitable for community establishment, we will look for opportunities and possibilities of cooperating with oversea communities, organizations, and individuals who have similar pursuit of creating an ideal community life, share the resources and experience to realize our dream together.

APP:
Government actions of pushing the Second Home to dissolve from December, 2013 to March, 2014:

1.In the 4th branch, we were notified that we had violated the Forest Law by building new houses without getting the official permission, and were required pay a fine more than 160,000 Rmb within ten days.2.We were also notified of having violated the Education Law, and Press Law, and were required to submit all books of Chanyuan Corpus and Xuefeng Corpus, because they are “illegal publications”.

2. Before the Spring Festival (the end of January, 2014), the road, water pipes and electricity were damaged or cut off in the 1st branch

3. At 100-200 meters in front of the entrances of two branches, local police office set up a checkpoint to monitor all people, vans and materials in and out of the community for 10 hours every day.

4. Before the Spring Festival (the biggest celebration day in China), all members’ family received a notice from their local police office, requiring them to persuade members of the Second Home to leave as early as possible. They promised to pay the transportation fee if the family would like to come and take the members back home.

5. Four reporters of the national and international medias were stopped and refused by the government officials to enter the community to interview or continue their interview on this event, and they were told clearly that it was not allowed to report the news.

6. The vice directors of City Public Security Department from Anning and Lincang (two branch location) came and did a lot of work on persuading members to leave. One of them did a public conversation to members in the 1st branch, expressing his hope of members to leave as early as possible, otherwise the result could be worse. In the 4th branch, the vice director and team leader of local police officer came every two to three days, talking with us on the specific plan of dissolving members.

Our actions and efforts：

1. We sent invitations to national & international reporters and medias to investigate and report the this event.

2. We stopped the operation of the community school; some children went back home with their parents; some were sent to the local schools where their father (mother) works.

3. We handed in all books of Chanyuan Corpus, Xuefeng Corpus and 800 Values according to the requirement of the Culture and Broadcast Department.

4. We persuaded some members to go back home in the cases that their family can’t understand or support their choice at all.

5. We are sending emails to the governments all over the world applying for the acceptance of Second Home members if they think a new life mode like the Second Home is welcomed in their country.

Chanyuan Celestials Strive for Survival and Drink the Bitter Cancerigenic Water

The three branches of the Second Home community which we have put all our human and financial resources into have been taken by the government without any compensation, and 26 millions worth of property has become an empty dream. Until today, we have not been told which laws we have violated that caused us have such a terrible misfortune.

150 people have been forced to leave Yunnan, and the government does not give us a penny for transportation. We almost face a dead end. Those who are able to work have gone to work, and those who can go home have gone home. The rest of people came to a deserted Gobi to build a farm. There is no toilet nor shower room here; there is no kitchen, the only buildings existing are four shabby houses. We use one room for storage and kitchen, and the other three to accommodate 32 people. They are so crowded that it can be hard to turn over on the bed at night.

However, this is not yet the most difficult and terrible thing. There is a well here, and the water pumped from the well tastes bitter. When you splash the water on the ground, it turns white when get dried under sun, and this is saline-alkali. When we first arrived, we went to the local government, police station, and Urban and Rural Construction Bureau to register, and one government secretary told us that the water is not drinkable here because it contains carcinogens. We then immediately asked the people who live in the nearby farms, they said they never drink the water here, instead they get spring water from the shops. And some people get water from a far way place.

My God! Our situation is just like a Chinese olds saying, “A leaking house caught in overnight rain”. We can’t afford to drink spring water all year along, and it is not practical to get water from far away because the nearest place where has clean water locates tens of kilometres away. We need to buy a water purifying equipment. We have asked five factories, and the cheapest equipment costs 20,000 YUAN. 20,000 YUAN! This is almost astronomical to us now. We do not mind spending money on trees, but we do on a water purifying equipment.

We are walking on a road that is no turning back. We let nature take its course. Since everything is running in the Tao and is the arrangement of Tao, we accept it delightedly. Accept everything means we need to go ahead and have to continue to drink this bitter and cancerigenic water. Anyhow, we want to turn this place into an oasis and a Xanadu. The first thing we did after coming here was we planted eight hundred willows. Next year we are going to plant two thousands more willows. In addition, we will plant all kinds of fruit trees and flowers. And we are going to raise a large crowd of pigeons. Currently we have thirteen pigeons. They will breed at least one hundred pigeons after two years. We want to see the pigeons fly freely in the sky.

When we die of cancer, please come here and have a look! What we left is an oasis, it is a Xanadu on the Gobi. We Chanyuan celestials will not feel ashamed when facing the Creator, human beings, and the society. Also, we have tried our best for our motherland, for the nature, and all living beings.

We are celestial beings and buddhas, we must be able to enter the heaven after we pass away.

The following photos were taken by me just now. From the photos you can see that the water here can corrode the concrete bricks intop owder. The water poured on the ground turned white when it dries out.

The 32 people mentioned by Xuefeng, are they all from the 2nd Home? What level of autonomy does your group have in your present location? Are you permitted to do structural modification and construct where you are? There are a lot of questions if anyone is going to offer their knowledge to assist your group. Oh, by the way, I think it was a good decision to go down the path of 'changing the project direction to organic farming, aquaculture, and ecotourism'. Now back to your groups current situation.

Have you looked at ways to build a cheap water filter and still?

I looked at the photographs and in the below photo are those logs/posts holding up the wall? If so how is the roof attached to the wall? Is there any form of waterproof barrier between the floor pad (if one exists) and the bottom of wall?

For you toilet maybe build a "long drop" for a temporary measure and then construct a composting toilet so your waste material can be used on gardens. Divert urine (into a bucket maybe) as it is a valuable resource. Just be aware that humanure can contain heavy metals and as such don't use it on root vegetables (probably best on trees etc). There is a lot of material on how to purify water around and a search may help you. I've got some plans somewhere from an NGO specialising in 3rd world health mediation strategies. I'll have a look and see if I can find the plans for you. It covers a range of other things and might be helpful in your present situation.

Also are there water tanks there or are you all using ground water? If ground water, what is its source & what is "uphill" from your location? The white stain from the water looked a lot like a salt stain. Is there a salinity problem in the region? If there is, this produces a whole lot of new problems to tackle.

No matter what, always boil the water before drinking it or using it to cook with. At least that will get rid of some of the bacteria that might be present. You are in Spring now. Have you or are you preparing to plant crops? What is your group plan to survive Winter. How cold does Winter get there? Do you have a means to warm yourselves during Winter? What other animals do you have on site? Pigeons are great but how many chickens (eggs/meat/manure/yard preparation/insect killer), goats (milk/meat/manure/yard preparation), pigs (manure/yard preparation/meat) do you have or intend to get? Particularly chickens, as they produce rapidly and will sustain a number of people from a small input.

Before anything, is there any plants or crops growing where you are. The more I look at those photos the more it looks like a salinity problem. If it is there's not much point in planting until you've worked out how far the problem goes where you are. Hopefully it's isolated to only a small area, or maybe only associated with the drying water... Is it mainly in the low-lying areas?

Alright, there are so many questions. Best to start slow and wait for an answer or I could be writing all night!

I'm now living in the East of China with 28 sisters and brothers.

Yes, we are now planting many kinds of crops in the North and East Farm together. What do you mean by surviving Winter? Well, I don't the exact weather in the North, but mine is very cool. Yes, we have electricity here and I think we have no problem in Winter. It is near my hometown. I mean the East Farm. I think there're many birds and pheasants in the North Farm. We will raise chickens, and the pigeons are in the North Farm now which brought from the 4th branch.

Being interested in water and other systems, when I read about the water quality you describe, I thought of "hard water" as it is bitter and chalky? I wonder what aspect of the water the officials consider "cancer causing?" This is from the US but has water problems indicated. Just for your information in case you do not have a list like this already.

In the past, I had looked at solar stills. I wonder if a large solar still could evaporate the well water away from the solutes? Urine can yield water. Urine is also an excellent fertilizer but maybe the two uses could be combined by collecting the residue after evaporation??

The saxaul is one of the most plentiful plants in the Gobi Desert region, and in many parts of the desert it is the only plant that will grow. The saxaul is identified as being a large bush, or small tree with thick spongy bark that soaks in moisture for nourishment. The leaves of the saxaul are so small that the tree appears to have no leaves at all, and it produces small yellow blossoms. The saxaul tree has many uses in its habitat. For example, the bark can be pressed to extract water and as of the 2008 energy crisis in the region, the wood of the tree is used for warmth and fuel. This also is something I remember...Geoff Lawton from Australia is an expert in permaculture and was involved with a desert project. Swales and trenches help to change desert conditions. I wonder if you can use this video information?

The Drinking Water of the Second Home Does not Exceed the Standard

I wrote an article on April 05 “Chanyuan Celestials Strive for Survival and Drink the Bitter Carcinogenic Water”, and the bitter carcinogenic water mentioned in this article is based on its taste and local rumours. However, when we sent the water to the government water test center and the result showed that the water from one well have 5 indexes below standard, while the water from the other well have 6 indexes below standard. But the good thing is that there are still 8 indexed are normal for the water of both wells. This means that our water is drinkable and will not cause cancer directly.

There are three indexes quite high. In China, the standard limit for sulphate, chloride, and soluble solid are 250mg/litre, 250mg/litre, and 1000mg/litre respectively. The indexes for the water in the first well are: sulphate: 621mg/litre, chloride 471mg/litre, and soluble solid 1740mg/litre. Those for the water of the second well are: sulphate: 558mg/litre, chloride 406mg/litre, and soluble solid 1370mg/litre. There is no big problem for chroma, turbidity value, PH value, total hardness, and oxygen consumption for water. Although the turbidity value of the water in one well is 3 times the standard limit, but still the water will not cause disease, and it is drinkable after sedimentation.

Thank you for all those who care the health of the brothers and sisters of our community. Please do not worry because our dirinking water does not exceed the standard and is still ok.

Because we are financially very tight, we are not going to purchase water purifying equipment now, and we will wait for one year and see.

The Current Situation of the Second Home of Lifechanyuan

On April 1st 2014, the last two Chanyuan celestials withdrew from Yunnan, which means that the three branches of the Second Home of Lifechanyuan located in Anning, Chuxiong, and Lincang city have ended their development.

The evacuation process proceeded very orderly. Among the 150 people, mainly women, children, and elderly, those who were able, have left the community and have gone out to work in society, and those who still have homes in which to return, have gone home. The rest of our members who were homeless came all the way across 5000 kilometers to the Gobi Desert in westernmost China to build new homes. There are only a few shabby houses; no toilets or shower rooms, not even kitchens or dining rooms. We need to rebuild our communities from the ground up in a very sandy and dusty desert.

During the time between the withdrawal and the beginning of rebuilding, no extreme or adverse events happened. The government gave us no monetary compensation or relocation allowance. They did not make things difficult, though. Everything was done in a friendly atmosphere. Besides, the government of Lincang city, especially the Public Security Bureau, did a lot of work to help us withdraw. In the Spring Festival this year, the vice director of the City Public Security Bureau and a few other officials bought a lot of foods and came to cook for the community members. Because of the manpower shortage, the City Public Security Bureau also organized a vehicle and got more people to help us load our furniture. I hereby I want to thank the Lincang government for their humane approach.

I left the community on March 16. I shook the hands of and said good bye to the government officials and it was very much like a farewell among brothers. We had maintained frequent contact and therefore understood each other. No matter what happened, we can still forgive each other. We still have long life journeys ahead, and no matter how big our misunderstandings might have been, a satisfactory ending was our common wish.

To be honest, although we have encountered a major setback, we are above hatred. We do not hate the government. It is difficult to accept what we experienced emotionally, but intellectually we know that it is the arrangement of Tao. Consciousness creates reality. Nothing is wrong with this world, if anything is wrong, we ourselves are wrong. Therefore, the major setback we encountered did not arise from the government, or any government officer or policeman. It is Tao’s arrangement during the development process of newborn things, and it is an inevitable consequence. We need to reflect back and correct ourselves.

Now everything goes quiet, and we will start a new round of rebuilding our homes. “A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit”. This time we will put what we do within the framework of national laws and regulations. We will strictly comply with all government regulations regarding any activities that require approval or registration. With regards to our values promotion, we will give up any content that does not comply with China’s actual policies wherever this is possible. Also, we will give up any content within the ideological field that does not comply with mainstream consciousness. We will focus more on permaculture and natural farming. The existing form of the Second Home will be cooperative and corporate. With every step we take, we will try not to exceed the nation’s laws and regulations.

Dozens of elderly members' lives have been properly arranged and all children have been sent to local public schools. Because those who have gotten used to the community life do not want to leave the Second Home, and all the Chanyuan celestials who work outside the community or stay at home want to come back the Second Home, we have expanded two other homes recently. At this stage, our three new homes are in the stage of rebuilding, and eighty Chanyuan celestials are involved in the construction. The names of our three new homes are: Kataer, Gesaer, and Nanhua.

I arrived in Kataier at two o'clock this morning and please rest assured that I had a safe journey on the road.

Some aspects of the situation at Kataier are better than I had imagined, but some are worse. The good part is that nearly four thousand pear trees are adult trees and the land is quite flat and will be easy to maintain. This year we can expect to have Bergamot pears, and a good harvest and income. The bad part is the dusty roads everywhere and our lack of houses. More than ten brothers and sisters are living together in one room, the space is quite narrow, and there are no toilets. There are also no bathrooms. Here, brothers and sisters have not bathed for more than one month, and there is no storage space for many things brought from Yunnan, so they can only be piled outside on the ground.

There is no kitchen, so they built a simple pot and stove to make soup,
More than ten people live together in a narrow empty room,

Where the vegetables are too expensive for us to buy,

I arrived at Gesaer Farm yesterday, and the situation is much more difficult than at Kataier Farm. There are no toilets or bathrooms, or any dining room. Furthermore, there are more mosquitoes and reeds and sand-dust storms. Nothing is growing in the fields and there are only two broken houses. It makes me feel so sad to know that our brothers and sisters have been living here for about one month.

The living conditions are very poor and this puts us in a dilemma. This poor and unworthy place is not good enough for us, but if we leave it, we will lose the land and have no place to go.

The date that I will go to Nanhua Farm is being changed. I will not leave Gesaer Farm until everything here is okay.

From ancient times, "I love you" has been a beautiful song which has been unchanged throughout the ages. People become fascinated, infatuated, and enjoyed crazy bliss when hearing, "I love you". Today, I finally know that "I love you" is a hallucination, the unpredictable clouds, a colorful bubble, and an anesthetic.

Love is a state, like the constantly shining sun, the blooming peony, the roaring river, and the bright stars twinkling in the night sky with all their luster.

Love has no specific target, it is wordless, but if there are specific targets, it is not love. The sun shines down constantly on everything, but if there is a target, it is not the sun, but a searchlight, a torch, or a spotlight. Love is like the shining sun and the blooming flowers. It is a state. Neither the sun nor the flowers ever say "I love you". No matter whether anyone is watching and no matter whether the bees and butterflies come to gather nectar, the flowers always bloom on time.

Love always brings warmth, auspiciousness, harmony, goodness, happiness, and positive energy, and is infinitely fascinating to all living beings. Love never shows coldness, madness, ugliness,worry, suffering, negative energy, or desperation.

Love can not hurt anyone. If love leads to pain, grief, suffering, hatred, disappointment, or desperation, it can not be real love.

Love can only be felt by love. It cannot be demanded or taken by force, nor by money, status, fame, or beauty. Love is totally free, it is priceless, needs nothing in return, and is unconditional, with neither responsibilities, obligations,nor other requirements. Love treats everyone the same: beggars and billionaires, commoners and royalty. Love has no morals. Love has no system of values. Love lives in truth, kindness, beauty, and right, as well as in falseness, evil, ugliness, and wrong.

The differences in the levels of love between different living beings are in the contents of love’s energy. The more love a living being has, the higher itslevel is; the less love it has, the lower its level is. This is the same as the differences of kerosene lamps, electric lamps, and the sun. They are shining different lights. The kerosene lamp can only illuminate one room in a house and the electric lamp can illuminate a yard, but the sun can illuminate a much larger area.

The light of the Buddha can spread everywhere, but the light of human beings can only spread in limited regions. This is the difference between Buddhas and people.

So,we understand that those who love everything and live for the benefit of all living beings are Buddhas, those who only love and think about themselves are devils, those who love and live for only one person or several people are animals, and those who only love and live for a group of people are human beings.

According to this, we know that those who selfishly love themselves are the offsprings of devils, those who only love one person or thing, such as within monogamous marriage, are the lowest level of animals, those who love their families are the the lowest level of human beings, and those who love their own nations, religions, organizations, and political parties are human beings, but those who live for the benefit of all living beings regardless of their selfish interests are more than human beings, they are Bodhisattvas, Angels, and Buddhas.

Human beings are not worthy of speaking the word, “love”. Love is the patent of Bodhisattvas, Angels, and Buddhas. Love is profaned when one person says "I love you" to another.

Love is a nonmaterial existence. Only those who have love for themselves can feel love. You will never feel love if you do not have love by yourself. You can see other lives' eyes when seeing through your own eyes. It is only by having no color blindness that you can see how colorful the world is.

Those people with the greatest love will become Super Celestial Beings. The greatest love is that you, yourself, completely become love.

The Greatest Creator is love. Only by making ourselves become love can we enter the secret garden of the Greatest Creator, the Celestial Island Continent of the Elysium World.

Having existing for more than five years in China, the Second Home of Lifechanyuan has already achieved the qualities and state listed here:

1. The recorded instances of violations of the law and of crimes are zero.
2. The recorded instances of abuse and of fighting are zero and there has been no quarreling or arguing within our community.
3. The situation that no one will pocket anything found on the road and doors will not be bolted at night has been fully realized.
4. All the elderly feel secure and blessed to live here.
5. All children live happily and enjoy good all-around developments of moral, intellectual, physical, esthetic, and labor education within our community.
6. Our community has realized the communist ideal of: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need".
7. A dozen couples get along very well with each other and lovers' tiffs have almost gone away.
8. Heavy household duties have totally disappeared.
9. Serious illnesses have gone away and small illnesses are rare. Residents living here continue to become healthier as time passes.
10. People do their work voluntarily and we have no executive orders or enforcement.
11. We have never had any form of attrition or conflicts with our neighbors and have always maintained very friendly relationships with them.
12. We have never introduced any pollution to nature.
13. We have never harmed any lives.
14. We have never cut down trees.
15. We have never done any harm to our nation or society.
16. We have never conducted any religious ceremonies or activities.
17. We have never conducted any political activity.
18, Without any outside assistance, we have tried our best to remain self-sufficient.
19. Once moving into a new place, we transform it into a picturesque Xanadu.
20. Women's dignity and security have received full-scope safeguards within our community.
21. The core value of socialism has been fully demonstrated.
22. We have established a trusting relationship with GEN (Global Ecovillage Network).
23. The demands of governments go on unimpeded within our community.
24. The environment is clean and tidy. You will not see dirty or messy conditions here.
25. Every resident in our community has a high degree of personal freedom.
26. The cultural and recreational activities in our community are healthy and civilized.
27. Everyone is a laborer. Working has become the most basic and enjoyable daily activity for everyone. There are no executives in the community.
28. Even when our community suffers injustices and setbacks, we never foster grievances in our hearts.
29. There is little negativity and pessimism in our community, but our mood remains full of vitality and vigor.
30. All residents in our community can face the misfortunes and difficulties squarely but keep great hopes up for the future.
31. There are no examples of extravagance or waste in our community.
32. Everyone here gets along well with each other and treats each other as sisters and brothers. They are always full of warmth, harmony, auspiciousness, and peace.


In order to realize the "Chinese Dream", we have already set forth an example through the Second Home of Lifechanyuan. We sincerely hope that the governments will come to examine and inspect our community in order to recognize and support this production and living model.

If the government still worries that our community might develop into an "illegal organization", or perhaps an "evil religious organization", and wants to engage in the same "encirclement and suppression" campaign to our community as the Kuomintang did to the Chinese Red Army, we do not care much about our lives or reputations, but what you do will be recorded in the history of human development.

I love my community and I don't hate China. Because I'm also a Chinese people. After all those unfair disbandment to our community, we never complained to anybody or Chinese government and we moved to Xinjiang where is full of poor but very kind and beautiful people. I love them just the same as our community.

These days, Chinese Central Government still didn't give us any responses to our community. The only people who can save our community in China and all my sisters and brothers is Chinese President Xi Jinping. I had written the letter to him and told many Chinese people that if President Xi Jinping dares to destroy Lifechanyuan and our community in Xinjiang and hurt my beloved sisters and brothers, I will fight to death with him.

Yes, i am still in the hospital and it is not easy for me to recovery so quickly.
It is my karma to get such kind disease.
i feel no hatred now but gratitude.
As a responsible English teacher in a cram school, i pay my life to acheive my duty.

But now we have pics in the 4th branch, and one of our sisters was hurt by them, there came 4 policemen to see the situation this afternoon. There're no result for the local policemen didn't want to help us. So this is why I need your help here to spread the crazy matter so wildely to let Chinese President Xi Jinping know and solve it!

You are certainly serving humanity well, but from the controllers' perspective, what you are doing is a threat to their control system. In their shoes/mind: What if more people follow your ideas and start building their own eco village. Remember the game of them is called ultimate control. You need to be careful, there are obviously forces at work here that don't want your community to flourish. As a foreigner in China, I'm VERY well treated; in nearly 6 years, I have NEVER witnessed anything untoward, and am only aware of the unpleasantness that goes on here via some friends. I don't know the fullness of your situation, and can only suggest that if your occupation of the land is 100% legal, and if your community leader hasn't done anything to antagonize a local official, then I'd like to believe the police should help you. It seems that the people attacking you are "local" people, but from the photos, they do not look like local peasant farmers to me ! If they are, they don't resemble any of the countryside dwellers I encounter in Sichuan. Is there a possibility they are government people mascarading as locals ??

I don't know. But it certainly seems as though there is much more going on here than a simple dispute with a village community. Does your community leader have any influential contacts ? Have you taken legal advice ?

It may surprise many, but homeowners' rights seem to be quite well protected in China, judging by what happened in the case of a man who owned a building right where a highway was supposed to be constructed (http://metro.co.uk/2012/11/22/highway-built-around-house-in-china-whose-owners-refused-to-move-539906/). He had the right to keep his house or be compensated. Eventually he agreed to the latter (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/9717218/Chinese-home-surrounded-by-highway-demolished.html).

If there's vicious people from the local authorities against you, maybe then it's appropriate to let the central government know that local authorities are abusing their power, which would be something that the central government would not want. – 天高皇帝远

In a case like yours, you just gotta think strategically, because being in the right morally doesn't help you when push comes to shove. You gotta see who could have an interest in helping you or who could have an interest in pushing back those who attack you. Find out what leverage you have, who your allies could be, very pragmatically, and go for it, gently but firmly.

Thank you for posting this, like Bill said your vision and situation are special, the work you do is important, thank you. I do not know the locals as you do, nor do I have the understandings that you do, regarding the local political or cultural environment, but I do have one small piece of advice, for what it's worth.

Your old countryman Master Zi or Sun Zu pointed out that if you are weak yet occupy a central position, either geographically or mentally, you should put great effort to make ally's and friends! Make ally's of your neighbor wherever you can. If one or two remain firmly against your position, with work and time, they will become the minority.

Let your enemies plot, while you focus your intentions instead on helping people OUTSIDE of your community, with the support of your wider community you undermine their strength.

Regarding the questions asked of Jena's project, about which I know very little, it strikes me that there's a certain amount of unpleasantness being shown here for reasons that are not easy to understand.

1) If an Avalon member asks for help or at least requests a chance to express themselves because something unwanted and hurtful has happened in their lives, we should offer support and understanding. These are my own strong values and I would very much like this principle to be upheld.

2) Avalon is a virtual but wholly international community. We have members from many dozens of countries in every part of the globe. There's a wonderful opportunity here for all of us, especially those of us who may not have traveled much or who speak other languages, to learn about other cultures, worldviews, and ways of living. (How many of us speak Chinese as well as xidaijena speaks English? And how many of us have ever visited China or have any real qualifications to make any informed comments about the culture there at all?)

3) It's crystal clear to me that anyone who aspires to be trying functionally and practically to create a better world, or examples of a better world, and has made significant and risk-laden personal commitments to do that, should be supported and not criticized as if they're somehow doing something out of line.

We need more people in the world like xidaijena, and we're privileged to have her in our Avalon community. Any new visitor to Avalon might be forgiven for thinking that they can see a certain degree of xenophobia and myopia on this thread.

4) To me, some of the responses to xidaijena have appeared offensive and in direct opposition to Avalon's values. Her own replies here so far to one or two fairly barbed comments and questions have done her great credit.

5) There can be all kinds of reasons for human beings doing anything at all that seems violent or freedom-restricting. Students of world history will know full well that for thousands of years there's been an ongoing battle between the vectors of personal freedom and the vectors of control and suppression. This continues today as strongly as it ever did in the days of Chairman Mao, Attila the Hun, or Herod the Great. China, despite its recent very successful conversion to a western-style economy, is not yet well-known for championing human rights.

Here's what it all boils down to, in my opinion:

If we don't do all we can to stand for and support those of us who are here this lifetime to continue that mission, Planet Earth will be lost pretty much forever and we may all just as well start to plan to reincarnate somewhere else next time round because the battle is lost. We have to get this right this time. Every action counts, even posting a response on the forum. It all adds the balance of energy, in one direction or another.
