For those of you that would like to see the reality of wealth today a short video helps explain it.
QPKKQnijnsM
and this is how George Carlin tells it. (some vulgarity)

Needed some humor because of the depressive content of the first video.
Peace!

They tried to warn us, but we fell into the trap of materialism...

Sadly, it's not about wealth. It's about control. Wealth means little to nothing to the off-the-chart demographic in this chart. Money is but the means to achieve control.

Working hard is one thing. Working smarter another. What if I work 380 times smarter than the next person? What about danger? Maybe 380X more dangerous should be worth more. What about the lottery? 380X luckier.
I do think there will be a shift in what we value. Maybe those high paying CEO and Athletes will get a few pay-scales down. Artists and scientists a few pay-scales up.
I was going to question a bit on the wealth distribution of the 1%. You have to make $506,000.00 to be in the top 1% bracket. The US population is 311,000,000 as above stated, which makes 3,110,000 people. Yet the top 400 people made an average of $344,831,528.00, yes, that's an average of these 400 people for 2012. Clearly, we are talking about a huge difference even in the 1%ers. (IRS.gov)
Earning $100,000.00 now makes the 19% range of the population. $200,000.00 the top 6% now. Isn't this a re-distrisbution of wealth? Wasn't this the 1%ers about 10-15 years ago? How do I factor in value of money depreciating? It seems to me a few people, just a few, are making better money, just a little bit better, overall. The poor a little better? A subtle re-distribution of money or illusion? Fairy Friend

Yes, it is getting worse but sometimes it isn't about how much I have.... I can think about something I want and then I get the feeling and head for goodwill and there it is for 99 cents.

Maybe it's just me. I recommend being the 1%er. Get all your material wishes out of the way. Find out who you really are? Gets you to the core. Then be who you are.
