Some disturbing truths on Veterans Today website, you wonder why terrible things happen - despite logic? Here's one reason - and possibly endemic in public service globally (for corporate gain of course).

"The only winner in all this is the military industrial complex, something we have way too many top American political leaders serving in key, high paying positions after they retire from public service. They then begin collecting all of the deferred bribes that were wisely not paid while they were in office. But to pay these afterwards in A-Okay.

This has worked so well with the politicians that the same 'making retirement friends while in government' hustle is being used on military brass, diplomats and yes some of our Intel people. The political hustlers are roll overs, but even formerly loyal people get sucked into it when they see how much money those 'crossing over' are making, and how esteemed they are for doing so."

A point or three to ponder - democracy? It's stuffed by the giant corporate banksters. Obviously. In UK we are victims of this in both major parties - let's face it - there is absolutely NO national democracy, the banksters call the tune, so vote independent, or other parties (until they too are infiltrated with bribes and corruption). Now look at the ginormous pay-offs some of our ex-CEO's are getting.... I hope they enjoy their retirement, and what goes around comes around as we are watching.

It is also scary how CEOs jump from one corrupt company to another, i.e. BP to BAE or vice versa, lol

Not to mention, I wonder how many congressmen etc. have been bribed by lobbyists :(

Makes ya think about Clinton's Los Alamos problem and the spy plane Bush gave to China.

The 'revolving door' of links to major corporations interacting via employment with 'Government' (ahem)...

Sample here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolving_door_(politics)

In politics, the "revolving door" is a movement of personnel between roles as legislators and regulators and the industries affected by the legislation and regulation.
In some cases the roles are performed in sequence but in certain circumstances may be performed at the same time. Political analysts claim that an unhealthy relationship can develop between the private sector and government, based on the granting of reciprocated privileges to the detriment of the nation and can lead to regulatory capture.

Ah well - it's all very tiresome, I'll subject any politician as to past or vested interests. Local/Regional/National. We have to polish our representatives to be squeaky clean, or they can polish themselves OFF!

Since the 50's the game has been played from a different angle by the enlisted folks. They left the service and obtained jobs with the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) in the exact same jobs they worked in as well as double dipping with the government with jobs and retirement. The loop has been effectively closed for more than a few decades. The politicians have passed laws and regulations to make this effective and protect the system also. They made it legal and sold us out at the same time. The conspiracy is not theory folks. IMHO

Peace!
