I thought the exact same thing. I think we could vote but then all write a message to the company, write in the comment section what we think. I understand that this is a good marketing trick, you see (no pun here) how many are aware of the product right now, good marketing strategy, bad public image. Who wins?

Their e-mail for comments (they won't take any on their website unless you register and then you will have add for blind children, which I do not need).

Kimberly, please, have the families suggest that once their marketing stratégies has brought awareness, to give the product to all the contestants. It makes no sense otherwise in terms of public image. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Thanks for digging up that email.

Apparently there is more about this campaign. The voting system will raise awareness about the product being offered but it will also bring to the public's attention the fact that there are other families there that need help right now and who knows who may find out about their story and jump in to their aid. (You can read about all the families and their children on that page).

While I do not necessarily like the idea of competition it does in fact help to raise awareness about the other families as well... so vote or not vote, but spreading the word may help in reaching the people that can do something about it.
