I shot this video while standing in front of my house, facing east, at about 8 a.m. today. There was no apparent sound associated with this thing.
Interestingly, I absolutely cannot get this video to appear in the Youtube search results, even when entering the exact title in the search field. Things that make you go hmmmmm...

looks like jet con trail to me, heading almost exactly away from you.

Chemtrail tanker.

no, not even that, in this case, I think.
A common garden variety con trail that dissolves out of sight a few miles behind the plane.

Maybe, but I had noticed it a while before I started shooting and it really did appear to be quite a bit higher up in the air. I've watched a lot of planes up there and it didn't look like that to me at all.

Hi Cariellbee,
I played this game with my sister when we where young.
We had a grand window with a view to the skyline of our village.
Every now and then, when the weather was right, we played this game that we looked for planes flying bye (we where in the line of flight from Schiphol airport) and each picked one and then we waited to see which one produced the largest contrail.
I know from remembrance that sometimes, airplane can leave contrail just like this when they fly in a certain angle, just like the plane is falling down to earth.
This one looks just like that to me. A plane flying by at a certain angle, that makes it look like something is falling down. :)
Interesting side note:
I can't remember to have seen a contrail to lasted for the duration of the length of our window.... ever!, let alone a contrail that lasted for hours.

I understand the concern. Planes - descending ones - and under normal circumstances don't fall that steep, or do they?

Oh...My...God.
Birds. Leaves. It sounds like you're wearing shorts. It sounds like it's warm where you are. That is truly shocking.
Considering...where I am...minus 4 C right now, but back to minust 26 C by end of week, snow everywhere, birds at the bird feeder but puffed up because of the cold....
This is truly an evil video. Hiss. Hiss. ;)
ps: once it gets back to our usual horrible cold weather I'll take the cam out n' see if I can show you how our skies look at night up here. ;)

Thank you, Violet. We have a LOT of air traffic around here and this thing just did not look like a plane, so I wasn't worried about that. (Or anything for that matter.)
None of the other planes were emitting contrails or chemtrails, at least not in my field of vision.
I woke up at around 6:30 because of unusually heavy and very loud aircraft activity, so I went outside to watch the sunrise.
I had been outside for about an hour when I first noticed this thing.
It appeared to be very far away, far enough away that there was no detectable sound.
It did not appear to move away from my position while I observed it, with the only apparent movement being downward and leftward from my perspective.
The main part of it appears significantly more solid than a contrail.
And at 0:50 in the video, we see it pass in front of a cloud that is horizontal to the earth. So, can it be a contrail?

The only thing I can say is that it's "falling" down too slowly for anything else than a plane flying away from you; especially if you've been looking at it for a while before starting videoing.
Yes contrail can form below some cloud levels.

Sorry! The current temperature is 85F/29C, way too warm for me. But minus 4C is a bit too cold. I would love it if the temperature was 64F - 74F all the time!
It was probably around 65F when I shot the video. I was wearing pajamas, not shorts!
I'm looking forward to seeing a video or two from you!

I see how it looks like a plane and maybe it is. But why are there no other contrails? Why is that contrail so exceptionally solid looking? If it is a contrail, then there should be a scientific explanation for its appearance and I'd like to hear it!

Hi carrielbee
When we look up and see jets flying high above us we must realize that most of them are at different altitudes. Temperatures and humidity in the atmosphere are not always at a consistent lapse rate, due to the fluidity of it (chaos theory). Meaning a change in temp and humidity can and does exist in areas of our atmosphere merely separated by a few thousand feet.
The conditions to create a contrail are based on factors relating to these. So often we will look up and see some aircraft producing contrails and some not. What we fail to see is the difference in altitude (by naked eye visual recognition alone you cannot tell if and airplane is at FL 360 from one that is at FL 400).
Hope that might help

since you have a camera and a pretty good location , try this ... look in the direction of the sunset , just before it gets behind the horizon , you will notice , three objects falling straight down , then all of a sudden they will seem to freeze in the sky and no one will notice them but you ... imagine your video shots , only the object is red orange with an orange very long tail falling straight down ...usually three of them ... I have some good info on them but I need others to notice them first ...

Thank you ghostrider! I have seen what you are referring to in a few youtube videos. I will look for some of them now, so please check back.
This afternoon, I had to go out to the grocery store. The sun was so bright that I had to keep my eyes almost completely closed as I was driving. I have always been very sensitive to the sun, but it was brighter than I have ever noticed it being and it was a bit uncomfortable. I sense that this could be related to what you have observed.

Here's a pretty good video of multiple suns. Is this what you are seeing? I am still looking for others.

If those were stationary objects, they would not be dancing around like that. I do believe they are covering /hiding someting with all the chemtrailing but IMO, that footage is showing distortion, due to airplane windows that are multiple layers of glass. And the chemtrail cover is also making a distorted appearance out of the Sun itself.
