Since the opening up of Burma from the dictatorial grip of their military forces, there is great concern over Burma's natural resources and forests. Due to the decades of suppression, this has protected the forests and natural resources from exploitation from greedy companies, western and otherwise.
It is now becoming apparent that logging is on the increase and the influence of the capitalist system is slowly taking effect and some say if it is allow to continue the destruction of the forests and the consuming of many of the natural resources is inevitable. Most of the forests in Asia have been devastated as the financial systems take hold (greed as some call it). Lets hope there is a glimmer of light through the smoke of madness, which will prevent the destruction.
