I have been stumbling across information related to this series of events for a few days now so i decided to post a threat to see what other people thought about it...

Here we have 2 amateur archaeologists who allegedly stole samples of King Khufu's cartouche from a small compartment above his burial chamber inside the great pyramid.

The head of the Ancient Egyptian Antiquities Section at the MSA, Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, and the Permanent Committee of the Ministry of the State of Antiquities (MSA) have condemned the alleged actions of these two archaeologists and have consequently rejected the findings simply because "they were carried out by amateurs not expert archaeologists", as Maqsoud stated.

The interesting thing is that the apparent results cast doubt on the construction date of the Great Pyramid itself.

Robert Bauval has just posted this statement on his facebook page regarding this strange series of events:

"BREAKING NEWS. "The Cheops Cartouche Affair"
I have been contacted by Dominique Golwitz an hour ago (4.30 a.m. CET, 18 Dec. 2013). He is still in NYC. He has asked me to get in contact with Dr. Ahmed Moustafa Ahmed Osman in Egypt. It seems that Dr. Osman is advising them of how to 'apologies' to the Egyptian authorities, but it is not clear to the Golwitz how exactly this should be done. So Golwitz asked me to find out for them with Dr. Osman.
I have asked Golowitz to inform Dr. Osman that they wish me to speak on their behalf to him, and thus for Dr. Osman to give his OK to talk to me. It is, of course, VERY IMPORTANT for the Egyptian Authorities (and everyone else for that matter!) to be absolutely clear that I am not (at least at this stage) condoning what the two Germans (Dominique Golwitz and Stefan Erdmann) did in the Great Pyramid. But I truly believe that they should be given the chance to present their case and hopefully clear their names of wrong doing if, indeed, they are innocent of the accusations made against them.
I see my position as a "defence lawyer" who has been asked to take up the case of "Egyptian Goverment vs Dominique Golwitz and Stefan Erdman". But before I consider doing this, I need to assess if the two Germans are indeed innocent as they clain they are. In this respect Golowitz has agreed to talk to me tomorrow on skype from NYC to tell me more of what really happened when the were inside the Great Pyramid on the 17th April 2013. Further to this talk with Golwitz, I will decide whether or not to take the 'case' for the defence.

I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL.

I HAVE ALSO ASSURED DOMINIQUE GOLWITZ OF FULL CONFIDENTIALITY SHOULD I AGREE TO ACT ON THEIR BEHALF.

This is, I am convinced, the correct moral position to take.

Stay tuned."
