View Full Version : US Government Forced Light Bulb Switch
SEAM
18th December 2013, 14:04
Starting January 2014, the US is officially banning safe, affordable, incandescent light bulbs.
Your choices? A cancer causing compact florescent light or CFL, which doesn't cost a lot, at $1.50, or an LED light that cost $24.00. But, as the government is quick to point out, we will save 24% in energy... the chemo treatments are extra...
Once again, a perfect scenario in which the poor will take the blunt end of a very rusty blade.

What would happen if you found smashed compact florescent light or CFL's in gov't buildings? Can a case be made of a hazardous site? In McDonalds? In Bank of America?
Costs of cleanup are very expensive once the proper authorities are involved.

Don't buy cheap CFL bulbs. they fail very fast, and then we have landfills full of what is vaporized or nano mercury, mixed in with a phosphor. Phosphor is a high PH differential material. ie a chemical exchange activator. so, you have a fine phosphor powder and a vaporized mercury.
Essentially a predisposed nano poison for living beings. something ready to break our bodies down at the point of encountering them. alchemy. The most toxic and wrong kind.
The pair of them is very very bad news if it gets out of the bulb, and the emissive characteristic of the light is also not what I would call healthy.

I pay $.58 a kwh.....
BRING ON THE LED! (they last much longer as well, btw)
If you want to see pain and suffering of the 'poor', look at the virgin islands where the power company is run by the government, grocery stores post their electric bills in public areas (and they are SKY HIGH)... it's terrible, in-efficient and corrupt as hell... Obama should be sending US aid....

To import inexpensive solar and wind? Both of those resources are in stark evidence, in the course of every single day.

They did this too us in the UK passing a law a couple of years ago - we were not given an choice. It is very hard to find the old light bulbs anymore sometimes they come up on 'Freecycle'. I have a few old bulbs left in boxes which I use in the room we mainly spend time in. We burn more candles now.

This is old news for the "EU". They started it in 2009.
Only "legal" thing to get from the end of this year are deathbulbs (the spectrum-reduced merc-vapor-emitters), LED, and usable Halogens
(i.e., over 10 Watts, which will be unavailable from sept 1, 2016 - stock up on these for health, don't wait).

I made myself an oven using two cardboard boxes, tinfoil and two light bulbs. (So far, I've used it to bake a pie and to sterilize a blanket.) Those poisonous bulbs don't get hot and so even if I *did* want to cook with mercury vapor, I could not. I guess it's time to learn how to make a real light bulb. I have made a very temporary one using a mason jar and a pencil lead (graphite), with three 9-volt batteries to power it, so I know it is possible... Or I could just get off my butt and finish the solar oven I started!
These mercury vapor bulbs are part of the plan. I guess we aren't dying fast enough to suit them, so we have poison light bulbs, non-labelled GMOs, forced vaccinations, etc. etc. ad nauseam.
I highly recommend the film "The Light Bulb Conspiracy."

Go figure , the government telling us what kind of light bulbs to use ... all to save the power company money ... next they will tell us what kind of toilet tissue to buy, along with tissue insurance , and a tissue license , tissue restrictions, tissue committe , tissue enforcment ... the founding fathers turn over in their graves ... they want to save on energy ??? USE TESLA'S WIRELESS ELECTRICTY PATENT THAT GE HAS, AND IT WONT' MATTER WHAT KIND OF BULB IS USED ...

Read the MSDS on a CFL light. A broken one is officially hazmat. There's a lot to be said for candles and oil lamps....but could this (http://lifehacker.com/5788248/build-a-battery-out-of-pennies)provide the seed of a DIY solution?
In our throwaway society there's a certain nobility in repurposing. I can't find a link just now, but will post when I can....solar chargers for cell phones, cameras, laptops etc. can be made from old lawn lights...

Wow our power bills should be going way down by saving all this energy eh? Lies. The "super elite" need more money, pharma is having trouble in the growth arena these days, with all the patents running out etc. so they need more money. How? Dictate what light bulbs you use in the guise of "saving energy" and watch more profit flow to the energy monopolies. Easy as pie, people are too stupid to see what is really happening.
Reminds me of a Dragon's Den episode (I think the US equiv is "American Inventor"), where a guy brought in a device that doubled electrical output upon input. Anyone in his right mind "knows" this is impossible physics, right? Without even seeing it work, one of the investors paid a good amount of money for 100% of the guys invention and business.
The investor's main investments were in the Canadian private energy sector, so we should soon see cheaper electricity and proof that these concepts actually work, right!? Wrong, more profit for huge private interests. No one will ever know the energy giants will be using these device, AND charging you more for you electricity. More gouging of the masses, more money in criminals hands ... this is the way it works folks.
Not to mention, I'm fairly sure there may be some simple but shady tech going on with these new devices ... Have you seen David Ike's stockpile of the old school light bulbs? He has a whole closet full, lol.

To hell with "their" patent. There's enough information out there about Tesla's ideas that, between all of us, we should be able to figure it out. Many are getting very close. I refuse to acknowledge anyone's claims of ownership of others' intellectual property! This whole selling of energy thing is the thing I find the most irritating. There is electricity all around us and Tesla KNEW it. I suspect he could actually see it. I can see it and believe me, I am nothing special. But there is no money to be made in allowing people to enjoy the freely-given bounty of the earth. :alien:

Here's an article to consider when you purchase candles:
"Toxins in Candles: Sad, But True" (http://www.keeperofthehome.org/2012/04/toxins-in-candles-sad-but-true.html)
“...We work so hard to eat healthy, stay fit, and rid our homes and bodies of toxins, only to find that something as simple and innocent as a pretty candle on our mantle or kitchen windowsill is actually a culprit in the war against our health and wellbeing.”
“...I'm going to tell you why I think you need to reconsider your use of candles, but then I'm also going to share some encouraging ways to bring back those pretty scents , oh yes, and even some healthy candle options as well. Non-toxic living does NOT mean boring, un-enjoyable, avoid-everything-pleasant living, …”

Have we all been so conditioned that we miss the entire point. What right does the government have to tell us us what light bulbs to use. They even tell us what type of toilets we should be flushing. This is not what government was set up to do, this is not the responsibility of the government, this is government run amuk.
Where do you draw the line, should the government stop people from skydiving, extreme skiing, all motor sports, smoking, drinking, over eating, not exercising. When we allow the government to dictate the terms of our lives we all lose.
Our freedoms are being eroded one at a time and people seem to be in a catatonic state of acceptance. People need to wake up and tell the government to stay out of our lives. Part of living is having free will and making choices even if others do not agree with those choices. When government mandates behavior we all lose, it prevents us from living the life we were meant to live!
People need to wake up and tell the government that their role in our lives should be extremely limited!

Lighten up, Avalonians! There is a good alternative. Dr. Mercola to the rescue once again.
I've been buying the full spectrum light bulbs that he sells from his website for several years and love them.
Cheaper, safer, good for plants and Seasonal Effective Disorder.
Check it out at: http://products.mercola.com/light-bulbs/
There have been threads on this subject before, and I've posted this same info.
A couple of savvy Avalonians checked further into these bulbs just to see if they really are good, and they got the thumbs up.
I believe Carmody was one of them, and his expertise on such issues is pretty stellar, imho.

Or if you like you can have free lighting in your home
First buy a set of these lights , they run on AA batteries.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/321085503273?limghlpsr=true&lpid=104
Then get some rechargable AA batteries
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fujitsu-Alkaline-AA-Batteries-24-Batteries-Value-Pack-/121052293130?pt=AU_Tool_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c2f47680a
Then get a 12 V AC charger and connect it to your phone line ( it has continuous 12 volt feed free )
charge your batteries in a 4 hold aa cradle.
it takes 12 to 24 hours to charge 4 AA batteries like this but they last up to a week in action !
You can set these up anywhere and they turn on automatically , some even sense ambient light so when the suns up they don't turn on.
Its great fun going into the laundry or toilet and lights turn on automatically !
Merry Christmas !

This is great advice but only works if you have the old school type phone line, i.e. not VOIP, FiOS, etc.

Correct , you will find most homes still have them around somewhere. They have a clean 12 v supply that is still on in emergency when the grids get shut off ; )

The same thing is happening in Canada. What BS!
Yeah but here it was voluntary, and the government told us how much carbon we were gonna "not" output if we all switched to them. Buddy of mine in North Battleford had an interesting idea.
Since there's nowhere to recycle these bulbs, and since it's totally free to sent mail to your MP of the Prime Minister, he's loading up all the burnt out CFL's into a box and mailing them at no cost to Stephen Harper.
A) You're helping Canada Post (LOL) and B) if they break before they get to the PMO, oh well.....
Same deal state-side? Can you mail the president free of charge? :)
Ho ho ho....

We already have that WTC... XBox , TV , PC's , Stupid fones , I diot phones , Smart Meters .. they are all surveillance tools.
i think its more about market share.. a lot has been invested in fluorescent bulbs tech and manufacture.. now the LED's are here someone wants to drag it out just a little longer ..
