This was in FAN's (Fluoride Action Network) newsletter today.
I didn't realize the coverup in the US can be traced as high as the Justice Department (see excerpts in bold letters).
The video really should go viral.

An introduction to David Kennedy, DDS, by Paul Connett

I first met David in October of 1996 at a Fluoridation Forum held at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. On the panel along with David and myself was Dr. Phyllis Mullenix (1), the author of the first animal study to show that pre-natal and post-natal exposure to fluoride interfered with animal behavior. Also on the panel was Cliff Honecker who was the person who discovered the formally classified papers on Harold Hodge’s fluoride activities on the Manhattan project. I remember Phyllis being stunned by Cliff’s revelations, because for a time she had worked with Harold Hodge at the Forsyth Dental Research Institute and she had no idea that he had originally proposed doing animal studies to probe fluoride’s interaction with the brain. So this was quite a momentous event and David captured it all on videotape, which he later circulated. The panel for this forum was put together by Deborah Moore, PhD, who has twice successfully kept fluoridation out of Worcester (even though hugely outspent by the proponents) and who later went onto form the group Second Look, which today continues to collect case studies on people injured by fluoride.

This video of the Clark University forum was one of quite a number of videotapes that David has made on both fluoride and mercury, including the famous “smoking teeth” video on mercury amalgams and the powerful video on what fluoride did to Cathy Justus’s horses in Colorado.

In addition to everything else, David is one of the funniest people in the anti-fluoridation movement. No matter how serious the moment, David has a way of finding the funny side to things. He always makes me laugh –whether its over the phone or at a meeting. David is also one of the most generous people in the anti-fluoridation movement. Not only has he poured countless hours and years into this effort but he has also sunk thousands of dollars of his only money as well.
David is a founding member of the International Association for Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and one of its past presidents. He is also on the Board of Directors of Fluoride Action Network’s parent, the American Environmental Health Studies Project, Inc (AEHSP) for which Cliff Honecker mentioned above, was the first director.

The name Fluoridegate was coined by Daniel Stockin of the Lillie Center in Georgia to describe the cover-up by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) of the vulnerability to fluoride of the black American community. The spark for this video was David’s trip to interview some of the civil rights leaders in Atlanta who were inspired by the information provided to them by Dan Stockin to come out against fluoridation and call for an investigation of this Fluoridegate. But in the process David found more cover-up than that occurring in Atlanta – and much of that is in Washington, DC. Now over to David.
Fluoridegate-- An American Tragedy
by David Kennnedy, DDS

Fluoridegate opens with 5th grade students demonstrating alongside New York City Councilmember Peter Vallone in 2012 on the steps of city hall, where the children eloquently explain what they have learned during their study of fluoridation.

In essence, Fluoridegate is a new documentary film about the U.S. government’s response to scientific concerns about the safety of ingested fluoride. It starts with Dr. Robert Carton reviewing the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 1987 demand that employees falsify documents in order to raise the maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for political and economic reasons. This behavior is in total violation of the EPA’s congressional mandate and the sworn duty of their employees. This discussion evolves into the U.S. Public Health Service’s response when a congressionally mandated National Toxicological Program (NTP) study that found animals receiving substantial doses of fluoride were “awash with disease.” The documentary evaluates the implications of a policy of poisoning vulnerable children and what that means for the future of our nation.

Viewers will be shocked that instead of responding to this issue with moral and ethical considerations, the U.S. government took the previously existing deceit and fraud (documented by Chris Bryson in his book The Fluoride Deception) to an even higher level. An interview with Attorney Steven Kohn in the documentary provides a detailed description of the events in Dr. William Marcus’s whistle-blowing trial, during which the Justice Department shredded documents, obstructed justice, tampered with witnesses, and conducted themselves in a manner that audiences are sure to recognize as totally opposed to the values upon which our country was built. At the time he was fired, Dr. Marcus was the senior toxicologist in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water. According to Attorney Kohn the Justice Department went after Marcus with a “vengeance.”

This hard-hitting documentary also explores the disproportionate impact of silicofluorides (the chemicals used in over 90% of the fluoridation programs in the US) on minority populations and especially their babies. In one scene, Professor Boyd Haley (former Chair, Department of Chemistry, University of Kentucky and world renowned expert on mercury’s toxicity) shares his calculations of 16,000 excess U.S. infant deaths per year potentially caused by flawed public health policies still in place today.

Professor Haley asks, “Why are our children dying at such a high rate? Why are our elderly dying at a faster rate and at younger ages than people from 28 other countries when we supposedly have the best medical care in the world?”

Fluoridegate establishes that an overall increase in children’s blood lead levels, along with systemic exposure of newborns to mercury from thimerosal-containing vaccines injected into both babies and pregnant mothers, are likely to be at least partially responsible for the unacceptable infant death rates in the U.S.

To further demonstrate how serious of a problem it is when mercury and lead are combined at low levels, the documentary provides an animated overview of Schubert’s landmark experiment, which reported the dramatic synergistic impact of these two heavy metals when administered together as opposed to seperately (2).

In this powerful documentary, Roger Masters, PhD, also summarizes his groundbreaking work linking silicofluoridation (i.e. fluoridation using silicofluorides) with large increases in blood lead levels in children, and he warns in a very direct fashion on camera,

“Exposing a child to chemicals in the first six years of life that will harm that child's learning capability, self-control and have effects on his brain function that are lifelong-- to permit that to happen when you know it’s happening and not to interfere by stopping the use of something like silicofluoride, which makes it worse-- is immoral. It is evil to harm children by poisoning them in the first six years of life once you know you're doing it.”

This project was originally conceived and funded by David Kennedy. The idea came to him after reviewing the fluoride issue for more than 20 years. Of particular concern was the never-ending parade of dentists and industry lobbyists making completely unfounded claims of fluoridation’s effectiveness and safety.

The toxicity of fluoride has been thoroughly reviewed in the scientific literature and as an example the recent 2006 National Research Council of the National Academies authoritative review is cited (3). There are very good reasons for the public and professional confusion and it is called fraud. The US government has paid millions if not billions of dollars to deceive the citizens of this country and others into believing that the practice of adding one of the most biologically active and toxic ions to the public drinking water is “safe and effective”.

Every person interviewed for this documentary willingly agreed and often encouraged us to push ahead and complete this important project. Not one person asked for any compensation. Mr. Kohn set aside a considerable portion of his day so he could describe the events that overturned Dr. Marcus firing and subsequent successful lawsuits. Dr. Masters generously escorted Monica, her partner and the children out to dinner in Dartmouth. In addition Daniel Stockin of the Lilly Center in Georgia was very helpful in finding black leaders willing to appear on camera and address disproportionate harm to their communities. This documentary has been a joint effort by the producer and director that would not have been possible without enormous amounts of help and encouragement from all of those who appeared in the film.

In 2013, Fluoridegate was shown at numerous film festivals around the country. It has so far received two honorable mentions.

The producer, Monica Esteban, helped build a website devoted to the film. It can be accessed at www.fluoridegate.org where it can be seen free of charge and with the opportunity for viewer questions and comments. Each individual interviewed for the documentary has their own segment available for viewing under the “Proof” tab of the website, which additionally includes many of the PDF documents mentioned in the film, such as the “May Day Memo” authored by Dr. Marcus in his normal capacity as EPA ODW’s senior toxicologist and the key piece of evidence in his successful lawsuit described by witnesses as the only reason for his termination. Thus, viewers wishing to investigate matters discussed in the documentary can review and download documents and even ask questions on this interactive website.

Fluoridegate is also available in individually wrapped DVD’s from FAN, and the critically-acclaimed documentary film makes an excellent gift to improve understanding about the issue of toxic health practices for friends, family, and everyone else who needs to learn the truth about the poisoning of our nation.

NOTE from FAN. We are making this DVD available as a premium for a donation of $34 (or two DVDs for a premium of $52). Please forgive the funny numbers but these are a simple code for us to know which premium our supporters want.

Lets swop this for chocolate

Arman Sadeghpour, a doctoral candidate at Tulane University, discovered an unlikely player in the fight against tooth decay - an extract derived from the cacao bean. Using leftover human molars, he applied either fluoride or cocoa extract. Next, the teeth were placed in a specialized machine which pressed an indentation into each tooth. The depth of the depression indicates the hardness of the enamel. Sadeghpour observed that the teeth treated with cocoa extract were more resilient than those where fluoride was used.

In a second test, each tooth was left overnight in a solution of either fluoride or cocoa extract. The following day, Sadeghpour subjected the tooth surface to strong acid for 10 minutes. When he measured the amount of calcium that had leached into the acid, he found that the teeth soaked in cocoa extract had lost 8 percent less calcium than their fluoride counterparts.

This is a nice reminder of the dangers of fluoride. I think i needed it. Thanks Nat.

A confession: this is totally unlike me, and even I was surprised I did it: I bought (deliberately) fluoride mouthwash and toothpaste. I was at the dentist recently and had some cavities filled. I s'pose the bill and the discomfort and the inconvenience weakened my resolve a little, and I took the dentists' advice to purchase flouride products. I had to kind of trick myself by thinking that the actual fluoride I might swallow would be negligible and therefore harmless. But I could never get comfortable with it. I just chucked the paste and the mouthwash...

...its off to the healthfood store tomorrow (yup, they're open;))

A bit off topic but still about fluoride prevention, I've used this product for a couple of years now. I use to go for cleanings twice a year, but now I go once a year. And it's a short visit.

I still accept the freebie toothbrush for cleaning around my kitchen sink.

Dr Group of the global healing center( who is a genius and excellent supplement creator) is creating supplements for Alex Jones. One is Nascent Iodine, the other is a fluoride cleansing product called fluoride shield. Fluoride harms the endocrine system as a whole but especially the thyroid gland which controls our hormone production.. Infowarslife.com

Fluoridation: Follow the Money
There's an archive of the newletters from FAN now at: http://fluoridealert.org/content/bulletin_12-24-13/
Here's today's issue:

By Carol Kopf, Media Director, Fluoride Action Network

Multi-billion dollar international conglomerates, which benefit from tooth decay and fluoride sales, pour money into organized dentistry which is behind virtually every fluoridation initiative. The American Dental Association (ADA), many of its over 250 constituent state and city associations are benefactors along with other fluoridation-promoting dental groups and schools.

Dentists, inside and outside of government and industry, seem to have vast amounts of money and influence to promote fluoridation. Where does it come from?

The ADA and the ADA Foundation received over $28 million from pharmaceutical companies, dental equipment manufacturers and insurance companies, from 2006 – 2009, according to a January 20, 2010, letter from the ADA’s Chief Financial Officer to U.S. Senator Charles Grassley.

Grassley wants more accountability and transparency between the ADA and industry. The ADA didn’t comply with Grassley’s request to publish its corporate funders on its website. However, Grassley listed them on his own website.

Fluoride-selling pharmaceutical giants listed include: Colgate, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, and others.

ADA’s Seal of Acceptance

Several companies on Grassley’s list paid a “Seal Program Maintenance Fee,” totaling $574,000 for four years (2006-2009).

The ADA requires a one-time, non-refundable submission fee before reviewing over-the-counter products ($14,500 per product). If given the ADA’s Seal of Acceptance, they are required to pay an annual maintenance fee of $3,500 per product, according to Jan Lord, Manager, Acceptance Program, ADA’s Council on Scientific Affairs.

Approximately, 260 items appear on the ADA’s current Accepted “Shopping List.” A large number are fluoride products.

More Legal Financial Exchanges between the ADA and Industry

Sometimes the ADA joins into “Cause-Related-Marketing” with for-profit companies. The ADA gives an example: the William Wrigley Company agreed to donate a percentage of its ADA Accepted chewing gum products to the ADA’s Give Kids A Smile program, according to Guidelines Governing the American Dental Association’s Corporate Relationships.

Wrigley paid the ADA $36,000 to review some of Wrigley’s sugar-free chewing gum studies to get the ADA’s Seal of Acceptance, according to CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Gupta writes, “The ADA stands by its seal and told us any company can apply for the seal, as long as the company pays for it.”

Johnson & Johnson gave $900,000 to fund the ADA’s annual session’s distinguished speaker series (2006-2009).

In 2007, Barbara Walters and Lance Armstrong Headlined the ADA’s Distinguished Speaker Series.

Many prominent journalists and politicians have been paid to speak at ADA conventions. In 2013 former President Bill Clinton was the main event. Some might say it’s a good way to buy influence.

Colgate funds the ADA research institute newly renamed after dentist Anthony R. Volpe, who recently retired as Vice President of Clinical Research and Scientific Affairs at Colgate-Palmolive Company.

Colgate’s Volpe and a Henry Schein, Inc. representative serve on the Board of Directors of Forsyth Institute which bills itself as “the only independent research institute in America specializing in oral health and its impact on overall wellness.” The Forsyth Institute is where Dr. Phyllis Mullenix performed research that found fluoride can cause brain deficits in rodents. Mullenix was fired for publishing her results in a peer-reviewed, respected journal (1), against the orders of her Forsyth boss, as explained in the first chapter of Chris Bryson’s “The Fluoride Deception.”

Members of the dental industry are on Boards of Directors for Dental Schools, other fluoridation promoting groups such as the Children’s Dental Health Project, Oral Health America, Dental product manufacturers are even Friends of the National Institutes of Dental Research.

At the forefront of most fluoridation initiatives are well-meaning but mis-guided dentists who fail to read the literature and are fueled only by the endorsements of dentists at the CDC’s Oral Health Division, or endorsements by dental organizations, or endorsements lobbied by dentists or from other groups and associations. Industry-funded dental groups even lobbied the Surgeon General until she finally caved in and endorsed fluoridation.

Dental Schools are corporation-subsidized

Henry Schein, Inc., the largest distributor of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners gave the New York University Dental School a six figure gift in 2000 and a million dollars the year before.

The New York University Donor Honor Roll reveals that Colgate-Palmolive Company and Nobel Biocare USA, Inc gave from $1 to 4$ million (2011-2012).

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

If a community elects to stop fluoridation, invariably a dentist and his posse shows up intimidating legislators into re-starting fluoridation. As ammunition, they state: “CDC has recognized water fluoridation as one of the 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century.”

That statement may sound impressive. However, it has been promoted by the CDC’s Oral Health Division, who are paid to promote fluoridation. The CDC also says, “It is not CDC’s task to determine what levels of fluoride in water are safe.” (see 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence: http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/safety/)

The CDC’s Oral Health Division may be a stepping stone into a more lucrative career promoting fluoridation for outside interests. When forced to defend fluoridation with words and not hide behind catch-phrases and government credentials, two former CDC Oral Health Division Directors fell short.

a) Dentist William Kohn, former director of the CDC’s Division of Oral Health until Feb 2011 – Now with Delta Dental, a dental “insurance” company that strongly supports fluoridation financially, Kohn does a poor job of convincing anyone to endorse fluoridation in a series of Delta Dental YouTube videos. I’ll bet he makes way more money in his new job.

b) Dentist William Mass, CDC’s previous Oral Health Director retired January 2010 from the CDC. But, In 2009, Dr. Maas was assigned by CDC to serve as an advisor to the Pew Children’s Dental Campaign. Maas was equally impotent when asked to defend fluoridation before a county legislature in 2013 in his new job for the billion-dollar Pew Foundation’s (renamed) Dental Policy group. Under his guidance, Pew fluoridation initiatives in Portland, Oregon and Wichita, Kansas failed when voters rejected fluoridation 60% to 40% despite the vast amount of money spent trying to convince them to swallow the fluoride.

Dentists Doing Very Well, Thank You, Despite Fluoridation

Fluoridation hasn’t hurt dentistry’s bottom line at all. In fact, dentistry is big business today despite 7 decades of water fluoridation and a glut of fluoridated dental products. Americans spent about $108 billion on dentists in 2011, an inflation-adjusted increase from $64 billion in 1996, according to the General Accounting Office. But a dental crisis still exists.

Since fluoridation doesn’t reduce tooth decay, whose best interests are served by protecting fluoride’s image?

The Global Toothpaste Market is expected to reach $12.6 billion by 2015, according Global Industry Analysts, Inc.
And, as you know, toothpaste isn’t the only fluoridated dental product on the market.

The global dental equipment market is predicted to exhibit a compound annual growth rate of 9% to reach over $13 billion by 2016.
Cosmetic dentistry continues to surge with an annual U.S. expenditure of $2.75 billion.
Fluoridation has created a lucrative new market for cosmetic dentistry. Fluoride-overdose symptoms, dental fluorosis (discolored teeth) has increased in incidence and severity over the years. WebMD writes, “Although fluorosis is not a disease, its effects can by psychologically distressing and difficult to treat. Parental vigilance can play an important role in preventing fluorosis.”

Sales of fluoride varnish are soaring as organized dentistry lobbied legislators to increase, require or allow their use among more practitioners – even though the varnish contains a hugely toxic 22,600 parts per million fluoride and has never been FDA approved for cavity reduction or safety tested.

Money is Power

Why does the ADA need so much money? Money is power in American politics. The ADA’s Political Action Committee is considered a Heavy Hitter by the Center for Responsive Politics.

In the last cycle, the ADA gave Congressional representatives $302,500 and Senators $48,500.

It seems that organized dentistry lobbies mostly for laws that benefit their member dentists. Some legislation masquerades as a public benefit. Fluoridation wears such a mask.

The New York State Dental Association brags about its legislative victories on its website.
The New York Times reported about the NY Dental Association’s political clout and sleazy politicking, in 2008.
The Greater New York Dental Meeting which is billed as the largest dental conference in the country generates millions of dollars. Exhibitors look like a who’s who in the dental industry.
Healthy Diets Make Healthy Teeth without Fluoride

Even the ADA admits good dental health begins in the womb. It’s important for pregnant women to receive sufficient amounts of tooth-building nutrients, including calcium, protein, phosphorous and vitamins A, C and D But dentists are mostly focused on fluoride, a drug with adverse side effects, that is not even essential for healthy teeth.

But there’s no money in selling nutrients and healthy eating.

So it’s not surprising that the U.S. is experiencing a tooth decay epidemic along with a fluoride-overdose epidemic. Up to 60% of adolescents have dental fluorosis. Yet 51% of them have tooth decay.

Who’s in Charge?

The CDC is not responsible for fluoridation safety. The FDA regulates fluoride as a drug for topical application and considers ingested fluoride such as fluoride supplements, an unapproved drug. The EPA regulates fluoride in water supplies as a contaminant. Organized dentistry, fueled by corporate cash, protects fluoride’s image and promotes fluoridation.

So Why Fluoridation?

The dental crisis America faces today is because dentistry has become a luxury service that most Americans can’t afford. 80% of dentists refuse to accept Medicaid patients, 130 million lack dental insurance. Many with dental insurance can’t afford dentistry’s high out of pocket fees. The answer is simple – legalize Dental Therapists in the US as they have been for decades in other first world countries. They just need 2 or 3 years training to do simple dentistry. They will go into mouths and areas dentists refuse to go. Studies show they are highly effective and more affordable.

However, organization dentistry, with its pockets full of corporate cash, lobby long and hard to keep affordable dentistry an oxymoron in the US. Dentists lobby against dental therapists because, some say, they infringe upon dentists lucrative monopoly.

Related to this fluoride problem is the fact that amalgam is used in tooth fillings. Amalgam has mercury in it which is one of the most toxic metals known to man.

Dentists are told by the ADA that it is safe to use. Ridiculous. This mercury travels through every cell in our bodies and to brain cells of course when we have amalgam fillings in our teeth.

I recently found a dentist who is qualified to remove amalgam fillings safely. If not removed in a safe manner it can be damaging.

This amalgam is making a lot of people sick and they are unaware of the cause.

Most people don't know that we have to beware of the very people who we trust to keep us well. Unfortunately!!!!
