Hi guys,
Just wanted to share with you my first experience with healing. It's nothing major, but baby steps first, eh? It was also very rewarding, encouraging, and I thought others, especially those with no experience healing, might like to read my experience.
So the other night my girlfriend had a persistent case of the hiccups. She tried all the normal ways to get rid of them, but with no success. They persisted for 30 minutes, and this is while we're in bed, so it's preventing her from falling asleep.
I finally got the idea -- hey, why don't I try to heal her?
I put my hand on her stomach area and tried to communicate with the diaphragm. Not much of anything happened.
My girlfriend looked at me. "Um," she says, "that's not right. I think the diaphragm is at the bottom of the rib cage."
I laughed. Yeah, I didn't know where the diaphragm is, or even what it looks like. But I moved my hand into the right spot.
Suddenly, I was hit with a barrage of images. Images of me, looking wild-eyed, with my arms outstretched above my head and my mouth wide open making an "O" shape. I looked frantic and distressed. The image of me was the same, but the orientation of the image changed -- so the first image was right side up, then the next would be rotated 180 degrees, then 90 degrees, so and so on forth, in rapid fire succession.
At first I was taken aback by this and kind of stunned by the energy, but I quickly realized what was happening: the diaphragm wouldn't communicate in words, it would communicate in images and symbols. I was seeing myself in distress, because that's what the diaphragm was feeling, and I was decoding that feeling relative to me.
After absorbing its frantic energy, I attempted to sooth it by communicating images of serenity and calmness.
I have no idea if what I did was the "right" way to do things. I have done very little research on the topic of healing. I only have a slight understanding that it is possible with the right mindset. I only awoke this past summer, which is the same time I started meditating, and also noticed my sensitivity to energy. This is all very, very new to me.
What I can say is that from the second I placed my hand in the right spot, her hiccups completely ceased.
So there ya go. I can't wait to learn more. I know this isn't easy, as it's a lot of tuning your mind. But after that experience I'm eager to learn more.
