I see u have this equation based on the letters F, O, X ---so why figure in these terms...I would surmise tht one could get a 666 by figuring three other letters in the alpha....so if u could explain a little further?

666 is just a tailing of our planet's serial number: 5.342.482.337.666. That's why it's called "the human number". The name of our system adds more spice to it ;) Satania.

It becomes an issue only if you focus on it too much...
It's like swastika symbol. It's an ancient religious symbol used through out almost entire world. And because of one insane person it is associated with one particular worldview :(

It's also equated with the hebrew letter that is "w".....guess what...every internet address begins WWW...so the internet is the beast.
Or....lmao...take a deep breath. Revelation, if you read the first few lines, tells you flat out everything that is going to happen in the book will happen before everyone who was living during its writing dies. Tadaaa...it's already happened.
Or you can look at it as allegorical truth. The Apocalypse of John can be a powerful testament to the fundamental changes in a human being who begins to see truth in themselves. Make the book about you, your struggle with truth, self awareness, and read it again.
Or, as a lot of Reform scholars tend to think, it's a historical account of the early church from several different perspectives in a cryptic kind of description.
Something tells me, and I may be wrong and if I am I am sorry (!) that you've never read the the Apocalypse of John.

There are several images from the Apocalypse of John/The Book of Revelation that correspond to some of the images, perhaps with all of the images, of the Egyptian Tarot. Having laid out the Egyptian Tarot in the proper format ala Law of One, and framed them to hang on the wall, it became apparent to me the source of at least some of the imagery contained therein.

In the comments section of the artist formerly known as "665 the plumber...", there is a comment that says:
Artificial Intelligence Is God .com
...when you put that address in, all there is on the page is this:
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
Which is the first stanza of a Blake poem...according to wiki:
Auguries of Innocence is a poem from one of William Blake's notebooks now known as The Pickering Manuscript.[1] It is assumed to have been written in 1803, but was not published until 1863 in the companion volume to Alexander Gilchrist's biography of William Blake. The poem contains a series of paradoxes which speak of innocence juxtaposed with evil and corruption. The poem is 132 lines and has been published with and without breaks that divide the poem into stanzas. An augury is a sign or omen.

I resent that implication...
 :p
Seriously though, I kind of bounce back and forth with the whole 'number of the beast' thing (and an assortment of other biblical concepts). On one hand, modern Christianity should be taken with several grains of salt and not at face value. On the other, I wouldn't discount the idea that some of the Bible's contents could very well be derived from some genuine esoteric knowledge and/or insight.
Based on the number of translations through the centuries, however, as well as (more importantly) the blatant alterations of its content by mortal individuals, it is difficult to determine the value of anything which is not more or less overtly valuable. Numerous teachings of Jesus, for instance, are certainly valid and admirable qualities to strive for (love thy neighbor, etc). The validity of various ominous signs and prophesies though, well...
I would agree that too much Fox News can put one in a rather demonic mindset though. ;)
