View Full Version : The meaning of my dream?

Sometimes I see quite vivid and heavy dreams. Last night it happened again and I wonder that what my dream represented because it seemed so real, though it was not a lucid dream.
In the dream I was in some kind of a group, it felt as if we were students. We walked in a mall and then we went into a some kind of a museum room. We sat there and then there came people who were dressed in black capes and they had masks. The ordered us to to wear same kind of black capes and masks, then we followed them and we had tasks to done, but I don't remember what they were any longer. It reminded me of this movie scene from Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

Also in other parts of the dream I saw really black clouds and heavy energy like auroras in the night sky. I felt that the energy was trying to control people, that it was malevolent. What does it all mean to me? Sometimes when I wake up those dreams I feel that it has left a big negative mark to my auric field and the effect of it might last for hours or even days. Why am I sometimes seeing these kind of heavy lifelike dreams?

Wind,
I can't make any definite interpretations as to what your dream meant, but I wanted to comment because I had a very similar theme (as quoted above) in my dream last night.
It was nighttime and I was in a strange town I have never seen before. There was something going around... the way it spread was akin to a "zombie virus", but the affected were not zombies per se. It was as if they were under demonic possession; they had a vaguely deceased look about them and they wielded supernatural powers. They were driven to mindlessly wander in search for other victims.
There was a group of survivors who were gathering weapons and preparing to make a stand. I ended up leaving them, however, as something about what they were doing made me feel uneasy for some reason.
I stumbled into a very large house or building of some sort, which was clearly still under construction. There were other people there, and I offered to help them finish with the building. Apparently the ceiling was entirely unfinished, leaving the night sky perfectly visible from inside. Contrary to your dream, however, the sense I received from looking up at the starry night sky was a sense of comfort, or liberation, which increased when I suddenly heard an angelic sounding voice begin to sing from some unseen place.
Anyway, sorry that I can't really help out with the interpretation, but I found it interesting that such a similar theme occurred for me on the same night. Furthermore it isn't really a common or recurring theme in my dreams, which makes it a bit more worthy of noting for me, personally.

Freed Fox,
Thanks for sharing your dream, it indeed seemed to be quite similar to mine. When I see heavy and intense dreams like this I always question that what was the message behind them. Many of us seem to have heavy dreams from time to time and I wonder what aspects of ourselves they might represent. Also I wonder if they might be projections from the lower astral?
Before you go to bed pray for understanding for this dream, you may get a answer from your dreams.
Thanks Mu, I certainly will. I pray almost daily and actually sometimes I do ask for guidance in my dreams. I never really get any clear "answers", there are just occurrences and certain people.
So, sometimes my dreams are "normal" and sometimes heavy like this one. They affect my mood. Very rarely if ever I see dreams where I am in so called "higher realms". I actually believe that in dream worlds our souls might travel trough higher and lower astral realms from time to time, but I am not really an expert on the subject.

I just bumped into this interesting article (http://belsebuub.com/articles/nightmares-and-bad-dreams), another synchronicity. Take it as you will.
Now I'm thinking about buying a dreamcatcher, but do they really work?

You can only interpret what your dream really means. IMO Nobody else but yourself can interpret it better. Hope this makes sense.
Museum - To see a museum in your dream indicates that your non-traditional path to success will make you stand out from the rest. Sometimes you need to take a risk. Alternatively, the museum represents your own personal history. You can learn a lot from your past and your heritage. Consider what you have gained from these experiences and apply them to your current circumstances.
To dream that you are in a museum, represents the things you value in life. Objects in the museum symbolizes memories and talents.
Mall - To dream that you are at the mall symbolizes the choices, decisions and options you have in your waking life. These choices will help shape who you are as a person. You are trying to establish your identity and sense of self. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are trying to make a favorable impression on someone. The mall is also symbolic of materialism and the need to keep up with the trends, fads, and/or the latest technology. Consider the type and name of stores that you see in your dreams.
Cape - Cape To see or dream that you are wearing a cape indicates that you are trying to shield yourself from being emotionally hurt. It may also mean that you are trying to cover-up or hide something.
Black - Black Black symbolizes the unknown, the subconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, rejection, hate or malice. The color invites you to delve deeper in your subconscious in order to gain a better understanding of yourself. It also signifies a lack of love and lack of support. More positively, black represents potential and possibilities. It is like a clean or blank slate.
If the feeling in the dream is one of joy, then blackness could imply hidden spirituality and divine qualities.
Mask - Mask To dream that you are wearing a mask suggests that you are trying to be someone you are not. You are trying to hide your true feelings and only reveal half truths. If you have trouble taking off your mask, then it suggests that your true self is lost or blurred. Alternatively, wearing a mask signifies temporary trouble due to some misunderstanding of your action and conduct.
To see someone wearing a mask in your dream denotes that you are struggling against deceit, falsehood, and jealousy. If someone removes their mask, then it symbolizes failure in gaining the admiration and/or respect of someone sought for.

Thanks Whitefeather, your interpretation does make sense. I will also have to meditate on the meaning of my dream.

To me if i dream dark it means to me that i am not on my true spiritual path. Again thats me. The Dreamcatcher is a good idea. Candles and Incense work for me as well. White Sage and Sandalwood. Good to have this burning in the house. White Sage keeps dark energies away. Native American Indians utilize white sage for clearing.

From the link you posted. http://belsebuub.com/articles/nightmares-and-bad-dreams
"Bad dreams are generated by what goes on in the mind during the day. The different thoughts, emotions and images continue when asleep, except that they become real for the dreamer, who gets locked into a model of the world that they’ve created, and they live in the scenes they create, generated by the different emotions and thoughts. Basically, it’s a repetition of what happens in the day, but with the added influence of another plane of existence with all its activity"

May I suggest your dream means you're being too defensive about something, Wind? Instead of facing and bearing and responding in the most aware way to something threatening or unpleasant, it would seem this week you're trying to lie to yourself about it, to sweep it all under the carpet. Think of the mask and cape as the opposite of nakedness, which in dreams usually represents honesty and openness rather than something erotic. I suggest don't think of the other people in the dream as people, but just as extra justification your ego is trying to bring in.
I've had a genuine (as distinct from plastic) dreamcatcher for over ten years. It does have some violet and blue healing-angel energy permanently around it.
