As I understand it, the theory of mirror neurons says that by observing something, the same neurons that get triggered in the actor get triggered in the observer. So it's all about chemical processes, nothing beyond the material realm whatsoever, which is characteristic for TED, which is an organization that is openly hostile to the idea that subtle energy even exists (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?63579-TED-talks-COINTELPRO-Gatekeeper).
