That is quite something if it's real. It seems to be a genuine article...though I'm not sure about it being due to radiation...it would take longer than a year or two to get that big, surely? That's the size of squid monsters from old books and films and sea stories...is it possible these things have been around for a long time? If it's real...

LOL, Kersley, I don't think that is real … the website is called "the braised turnip" sort of like a take on "the Onion" and the picture is over the top bizarre ---

If you upload an image here it will reverse search it for you and tell you the origins more or less of that image. I have found it useful in fact checking & general bull**** sniffing.

LOL no way is that real. notice how in focus the entire animal is and the lack of definition of all the people around. definitely fake. sorry!

I wish it were real, however, from just looking at the photo, you can tell the squid has been poorly Photoshopped on to another image.

Ha! Yes of course that photo is completely fake, and the story is sensationalistic. Yet there are giant and colossus squid (actual names of the species) in our oceans that regularly grow to 100 ft or more. The mostly live at extreme depths, only coming up at all to feed. Sperm whales, with their incredible deep diving skills love to munch on these, they often get into good battles, with the only evidence being the deep scars of giant teeth filled tentacle suckers found on sperm whale skin - the whales always win ;)
However, none of this has anything to do with radiation, or is any danger to humans at all.

- So, just to make it abundantly and visually clear.
The fake photo(shop) from LightlyBraisedTurnip :

(when searching googleimage for this I found that it has spread
to an insane number of websites, blogs, forums and the like .. )
Composed from :

A beached whale in Chile ( slightly rearranged )

This giant squid washed up on a spanish beach and is 9 meters long.
- Quite impressive, but not abnormal by any informed standards...
Photoshop is a lot of fun, but we have to know that in this day and time
any clever teenager of any age can make very convincing manipulations,
and no image can be trusted to be real without additional research,
witnesses or collaborating evidence. (minimum)
Be well

Here's a bit bigger one:
I did a little digging and the largest I can find ever "found" (almost no one has seen these alive) was 55 ft, and 1000 lbs. But it is presumed the can grow up to twice that size. Interestingly the larvae start of as almost microscopic. They are elusive, but nothing new and nothing caused by "radiation". I checked out some other stories from the "turnip" site and it is all pretty much satire / facetiousness.
