The Mars Rover Spirit took this sublime view of a sunset over the rim of Gusev Crater,
about 50 miles (80 kilometers) away. Taken from Husband Hill, it looks much like a sunset
on Earth — a reminder that other worlds can seem eerily familiar. (Look... a real sky :) )

Mars may have once been capable of supporting microbial life for hundreds of millions of years in the distant past, new findings from a long-lived Red Planet rover suggest.

NASA's Opportunity rover, which celebrates 10 years of Mars exploration on Friday (Jan. 24, 2014), has uncovered evidence that benign, nearly neutral-pH water flowed on the Red Planet around 4 billion years ago.

These results, reported today (Jan. 23, 2014) in the journal Science, complement the recent work of NASA's bigger, newer Curiosity rover, which discovered a potentially habitable lake and groundwater system in a different Martian locale dating from about 3.7 billion years ago.

NASA's Curiosity rover found oxygen, water, sulfate and other
elements in a rock sample from Mars.

Bet they can find the same thing in some of our deserts right here on our planet... wonder what else they have found??

Yes , Mars had a civilization on it until , War ... nuclear power was their downfall , we repeat the same history ...

Ghostrider might be correct...

Take Ed Snowden, for example. To our posterity (the people of tomorrow, if they make it) he might be one of the reasons they will know what really happened to our civilization.

The Egyptian pyramids, for example -- they are a shout in the darkness, saying "We existed in this place, we worked together, and things were good for a while".
At least people today have that much to go by. The people back then thought far enough ahead to put those objects there, so we could see them today and realize,
how fast things can change. How small our lives are in the big scheme of things, yet how much we humans can build with those small, brief lives.

Think of the other planets out there, where the destruction was even more total,
and they don't even have the basic math to get off the planet anymore.

We are reliant on NASA and other space agencies for any data on Mars, that being the problem about the truth concerning what Mars was like millions of years ago. The data and photographs would surely be altered if it did not fit with the general scientific assumptions and expectations. This happened with the Moon landings, some of the back grounds were the same for different Apollo missions and so forth.

where the asteroid belt is now it is said , it was a planet that was destroyed by nuclear war in the past ... planet phateon/malona ...The evidence for nuclear war is everywhere in our solar system ... ancient civilizations with high technology with knowledge of space greater than us today ... and they did it without computers and satelites ... simple they had spacecraft ...

Tesla... That's a real interesting site. I'm just beginning to wade through some of the links at the bottom of the page.
