Hello friends! It's been a while since I posted on this forum. I'm looking for some help in finding a great picture book of the most sacred places of the world. This would include many of the better known ones, but also many of the lesser known ones. A book that would make a great coffee table addition and at the same time peak the curiosity of the most researched spiritual reader. Also if you have any suggestions of books detailing places thought to have strong Extra-terrestrial connections would be great. Thanks and blessings to all!

I want to know too.

For docos and you-tubes I'd suggest the "In Search Of" show from the 70's - that was pretty cool and was into all things such as Atlantis, UFEss, Stonehenge, Bigfoot and so on... Lenord Nemoy (Dr Spock from Star Trek) was the presenter of the series that went for about 20+ episodes I think...

I have a few PDFs on classic mythology and gods and godessess as well as ancient Egypt and Sumeria which are interesting, but yeah I too would like a kind of guide that groups these 'wonders' so when I travel I know where exactly to go :)

Rennes-le-Château

Rennes-le-Château (Rènnas del Castèl in Occitan) is a commune in the Aude department in Languedoc in southern France.

This small French hilltop village is known internationally, and receives tens of thousands of visitors per year, for being at the center of various conspiracy theories, and for being the location of an alleged buried treasure discovered by its 19th-century priest Bérenger Saunière, the precise nature of which is disputed by those who believe in its existence, because of the sheer diversity of conflicting theories.

The Priory Of Sion
Is The "Secret Organization" Fact Or Fiction?

To follow the trail of the Priory of Sion, you first need to go to a small, remote village in the foothills of the French Pyrenees called Rennes le Chateau and to go back in time more than 100 years. It was here that the Priory was said to have had a mysterious influence on the village priest, Berenger Sauniere, who spent money on a scale that was way beyond his means.

After lavishly redecorating the interior of the church, Sauniere built a grand estate for himself, with a promenade that stretched along the edge of the village. At one end he constructed a tower, where he entertained guests and housed his extensive library. Saunière died in 1917, but the mystery of his wealth lived on. In the 1950's, newspaper reports suggested that Sauniere had discovered a fabulous treasure and soon Rennes Le Chateau began to be invaded by treasure hunters from all over the world.

New Haven and Charles Island, What happened to Capt Kidd's gold?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Island

Local records indicate that Captain William Kidd visited Milford in 1699 when he was en route to Boston (where he was subsequently arrested for piracy and murder). Before Kidd’s arrival in Boston, he off-loaded and buried treasure on Gardiners Island off the eastern tip of Long Island. The treasure was retrieved after his arrest but questions remain as to whether all the treasure was in that cache and whether he may have buried more of it along Long Island Sound. Since it is known he visited Milford on his last voyage, it has been speculated that he may have buried some of his treasure on the mainland or on Charles Island.[1]

This seems to be a great internet guide to the world's sacred places. Definitely will want to bookmark it: http://sacredsites.com/

I see also that this web site advertises several BOOKS on sacred sites, e.g. SACRED EUROPE.

There are so many holy spots it would have to be a small encyclopedia if it had many pictures! You'd have all the well-known ones like Stonehenge, Angkor Wat, Jerusalem, Teotihuacan etc., then the lesser-known ones like Baalbek, Serpent Mound in Ohio and the Medicine Wheel of Wyoming, and then there are the utterly mysterious and mostly unknown sites that are the ones that fascinate me the most. I would love to see a publication like that!

I think there is a huge book re: the War of the Roses, and it's got a very large and beautiful Stonehenge diagram in the front inner bit.

Lemme see if I can find it for ya!

was close to this but had more lines in it: http://www.alef.net/ALEFAncientPlaces/EnglandStonehenge/EnglandStonehengeDiagram.Gif
