Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead with a needle in his arm and heroin near by.....although he was known to have a drug problem and had been in rehab last year, it is very odd that his death was announced January 31st, then it was said he was alive and well Feb 1st, then on Feb 2nd he was actually found dead in his NY City apartment.

Hmmm. Shocking news and it didn't feel right any more than Diana's 'accident' did. Agreed the 'needle in the arm' had a resounding chime with the passports and Korans found in the dust at ground zero.

His performance in The Master was masterful indeed. Was I the only one to realise that film was about L.Ron Hubbard? Surely not. There's much more to this than meets the eye, maybe we'll never know the truth, maybe it was just a tragic accident, he'd been battling addiction for some time.

Either way, agony for his family and dreadful loss to his fans, of which I am one, outstanding talent. What dreams may come now for PSH. May he rest in peace.

I didn't know that about Stallone, I don't want to investigate this hellish stuff either, get sick to my stomach, I guess the reaction of the decent of not even wanting to think that such horrors are possible is how they've managed to thrive unseen for so long. I guess we've all got to find the courage to 'go there' at times, but I do have to put it from my mind to stay sane, but if PSH 'sold his soul' as it were, I'm not surprised at the addiction, the only way to tolerate the unthinkable reality he found himself in. Oh God help.

The only thing more insane than an insidious drug habit is this idea that "they" are to blame for each n every celebrity death. This incessant blaming of "they" only enslaves us more, as it totally negates the idea of personal responsibility. PSH made poor choices. That's it. Why is this so hard to believe?

I mean, if we're to say the PTB create a climate where such things as drug overdoses become common among celebrities....well, I'm on board with that. But to suggest "they" snuck into his house at night to finish him off with a lethal dose of heroin is ridiculous. Heroin addicts die of heroin overdoses:). That's how it happens. Michael Jackson was a drug addict. Yes, he was responsible for his own death. While there were enablers, he became very creative in attaining (illegally) his prescription pills. Ultimately the blame falls on his shoulders. He made the choices that inevitably led to his demise. In america, we're obsessed with blaming somebody. To make everyone happy, somebody has to pay. In this case it was his doctor. It could just as easily have been some other poor bastard elected to look after him. Perhaps he didn't make the best decisions that night, but Jackson would have found some other way to get what he wanted had the doctor not enabled him.

And no, I don't think the doctor was an illuminatti assassin;). The very fact that he went to jail should be proof enough of that.

Tesla, I don't doubt for a second there's some crazy sh#t going on, and people are being messed with in unimaginable ways by nefarious entities. Perhaps it's best to always assume the worst given what we know about things like MKUlta etc. It just that it becomes so tiresome to me when we blame each and every misfortune on the shadow government, as if it were impossible for a celebrity to die by any other means. There's certainly a balance to be achieved somewhere in there, a healthy approach that marries what we know in the conspiracy world with a bit of common sense. I won't claim to have achieved it, but I'm trying.

I mean no disrespect. I find you to be ferociously intelligent. But I do get irritated when we just blindly assume, with seeming certainly, that "they" did this or that.

President Snow and Plutarch it as one of the Capitol's obnoxious trends. Later he shows up as Head Gamemaker and keeps his cover low. It comes as a surprise to Katniss when Plutarch is revealed as a leader of the rebellion. Plutarch comes to the arena in a hovercraft and saves her, Finnick, and Beetee after a plan of his making removed the Capitol forcefield. He had already been involved in an undercover group for several years now that was aiming to overthrow the Capitol.

Mockingjay
Plutarch is a leader of the rebellion and appears during the meeting held by Katniss when she accepts the role of the Mockingjay. Plutarch is happy about her acceptance and that she hasn't changed. Plutarch wishes he could have some coffee and then takes both her and Gale downstairs, but they are stopped on their way by a guard. Gale makes a distraction which allows them to see the guarded room and finds Katniss' prep team being tortured. Plutarch is surprised by this and demands that they be freed.

Plutarch goes along with the others to District 8 to shoot their first propaganda. During their visit to one of the hospitals, the Capitol attacks them. Plutarch tries to keep Katniss safe by not allowing her to fight. Katniss does not accept this and goes to fight. After the propaganda is finished, Plutarch goes to receive medical treatment. They meet in the command room and discuss the propaganda and after they finish they decide to allow Katniss to go into combat again and film more after she is fully recovered.

Plutarch goes to Katniss's hospital room after Peeta's interview draws to an end because he is worried she is going crazy as a result of it. When he enters, Katniss and Finnick pretend not to have seen it. After Peeta's warning of the bombing on District 13 by the Capitol, Plutarch helps evacuate the entire district to safe bunkers. Plutarch is happy during the bombing because Beetee was successful in hacking the Capitol and airing Katniss' propaganda. Katniss does everything she can not to slap him. He informs Katniss and Prim of Peeta's condition and that he is receiving treatment for the injuries the Capitol has inflicted on him. Later, Katniss asks to go to the Capitol but he refuses because they need all the districts to be on their side first, but District 2 is still with the Capitol. Katniss tells him to send her to District 2.

Plutarch shows up later after she is shot in District 2 and is happy to finally have all the districts on their side. Plutarch explains further about the relationship between the Capitol and the districts. He announces that the next propo they will shoot will be of Finnick and Annie's wedding. Plutarch gives the order of shooting new propaganda in the Capitol. Plutarch also tells her to get ready for training so they can film it.

Plutarch was also believed by Snow to be part of the plan that killed Capitol children and rebel Casualty Aides including Prim. Katniss killed President Coin for her part in the plan, but seeks no vengeance against Plutarch. He does Katniss a favor by preventing the execution of Effie Trinket and acting as a witness in Katniss's defense at her trial for the murder of Coin.

Plutarch was appointed Secretary of Communications after the war.

Sky-watchers this week get a rare chance to catch sight of a tricky cosmic target: Mercury. This most elusive of naked-eye planets puts on its best appearance of 2014 in the evening sky starting on Friday.

Locating this baked, barren world is usually a serious challenge, even for seasoned stargazers, because the planet never strays far from the glow of the sun. Mercury is the closest planet to our star—never traveling more than 43.5 million miles (70 million kilometers) in its orbit—so it always sets soon after sundown and rises just before sunrise.

But from now until February 4, Mercury is the farthest it will be from the sun all year—what astronomers call its great eastern elongation. This means folks in the Northern Hemisphere will be able to spot the planet in the twilight sky with the naked eye. It will be relatively high in the southwestern sky, ten degrees (about the width of your fist at arm’s length) above the setting sun.

Among its numerous attributes, Mercury in the mind of the seventeenth century alchemist-physician was a name associated with several attributes. He was believed to be a psychopomp, the messenger to the gods of antiquity and the soul-guide to the questing alchemist - it was also a mythic name connected to the Egyptian god Thoth, inventor of number and alphabet, as well as the name of a mysterious liquid-metal. Because it was a metal seemingly able to shrink and expand in form Mercury was believed to possess 'magical' properties. With its many correspondences in the realms of arcane lore, nature, mythology and early chemistry it is little wonder that Mercury in it's variegated and shape-shifting symbolism acted as a kind of highly charged psychic play-dough upon the imagination of followers of the 'Mercurial Art'. The antinomian or contradictory nature of Mercurius is reflected in his being called duplex, of two natures, male and female, heaven and earth, mother and father, young and old, strong and weak.

Jung says of Mercurius - "In comparison with the purity and unity of the Christ symbol, Mercurius-lapis is ambiguous, dark, paradoxical, and thoroughly pagan. ... The paradoxical nature of Mercurius reflects an important aspect of the self - the fact, namely, that it is essentially a complexio oppositorum, and indeed can be nothing else if it is to represent any kind of totality." and "The magic of his name enables him, in spite of his ambiguity and duplicity, to keep outside the split, for as an ancient pagan god he possesses a natural undividedness which is impervious to logical and moral contradictions. This gives him invulnerability and incorruptibility, the very qualities we so urgently need to heal the split in ourselves." [2]

Browne's declaration on Mercury is testament to his wittingly or unwittingly experiencing projection, that is observing both transmuting substance and active workings of the unconscious. Such projecting onto organic matter was experienced by the alchemist as revelatory or of miraculous significance. Browne's likening of Mercury's properties of revivification to 'artificial Resurrection' - alluding to Christ's Resurrection, is evidence that the alchemical opus with it's many trials, tribulations and set-backs was seen a work of redemption and a necessary augmentation to the adept's faith. The psychic nature of Browne's and other alchemists 'elaboratory' investigations meant that on occasions, according to C.G.Jung, the adept wittingly or unwittingly became both the subject and the object of their experiment. Astute alchemist-physicians recognised themselves as being the very object and subject of their 'elaboratory' investigations.

C.G.Jung in the opening page of Mysterium Coniunctio (1953) lists over fifty differing correspondences associated with Mercury. Elsewhere in Mysterium Coniunctio he unequivocally states of the alchemist's relationship to projection and the unconscious psyche -

Strictly speaking, projection is never made; it is simply there. In the darkness of anything external to me I find, without recognising it as such, an interio or psychic life that is my own.....The alchemist did not practise his art because he believed on theoretical grounds in correspondence; the point is that he had a theory of correspondence because he experienced the presence of pre-existing ideas in physical matter. I am therefore inclined to assume that the real root of alchemy is to be sought less in philosophical doctrines than in the projections of individual investigators. I mean by this that while working on his chemical experiments the operator had certain psychic experiences which appeared to him as the particular behaviour of the chemical process. Since it was a question of projection, he was naturally unconscious of the fact that the experience had nothing to do with matter itself ( that is, with matter as we know it today). He experienced his projection as a property of matter; but what he was in reality experiencing was his own unconscious. In this way he recapitulated the whole history of man's knowledge of nature. As we all know, science began with the stars, and mankind discovered in them the dominants of the unconscious, the "gods" as well as the curious psychological qualities of the zodiac: a complete projected theory of human character. The threefold death, which is suffered by kings, heroes, and gods, is a putatively Proto-Indo-European theme – although it is attested in medieval accounts of Celtic and Germanic mythology.

Some proponents of the trifunctional hypothesis distinguish two types of threefold deaths in Indo-European myth and ritual. It is attested in primary sources that sacrifices were made to Odin during blóts – Norse pagan sacrifices to the Norse gods land spirits. Adam of Bremen relates that every ninth year, people assembled from all over Sweden to sacrifice at the Temple at Uppsala. Male slaves and males of each species were sacrificed and hung from the branches of the trees.

As the Swedes had the right not only to elect their king but also to depose him, the sagas relate that both King Domalde and King Olof Trätälja were sacrificed to Odin after years of famine. It has been argued that the killing of a combatant in battle was to give a sacrificial offering to Odin. The fickleness of Odin in war was well documented; in Lokasenna, Loki taunts Odin for his inconsistency.

Sometimes sacrifices were made to Odin to bring about changes in circumstance. A notable example is the sacrifice of King Víkar that is detailed in Gautrek's Saga and in Saxo Grammaticus' account of the same event. Sailors in a fleet being blown off course drew lots to sacrifice to Odin that he might abate the winds. The king himself drew the lot and was hanged.

Sacrifices were probably also made to Odin at the beginning of summer (mid-April, actually – summer being reckoned essentially the same as did the Celt, at Beltene, Calan Mai [Welsh], which is Mayday – hence as summer's "herald"), since the Ynglinga saga states one of the great festivals of the calendar is at sumri, þat var sigrblót, "in summer, for victory". Odin is consistently referred to throughout the Norse mythos as the bringer of victory. The Ynglinga saga also details the sacrifices made by the Swedish king Aun, to whom it was revealed that he would lengthen his life by sacrificing one of his sons every ten years; nine of his ten sons died this way. When he was about to sacrifice his last son Egil, the Swedes stopped him.

To-day, 2nd February, is the Christian feast-day of Candlemas, that celebrates the purification of the Virgin Mary.

It is also the Feast-day of St Brigid (Bridget, Bride, Bríd, &c.), a celtic Saint and quite possibly a Goddess before that. Her cross of woven rushes or straw, shown upon the floor, is a Christian symbol, derived from the Pagan sun-wheel.

In gaelic the Feast is called Imbolc, or Imbolg, a name derived from Old Irish, meaning 'In the Belly', referring to the pregnancy of ewes at this time.

Candlemas is one of the four cross-quarter days and marks the starting of Spring. The others are Beltane (May-day), Lughnasa (Lammas or Loaf-mass) and Samhain (Halloween), each approximately 3 months from the next.

In the Gaelic tradition Imbolc is associated with the Cailleach— a hag who gathers her firewood for the rest of the winter. Legend has it that if she intends to make the winter last a good while longer, she will make sure the weather on Imbolc is bright and sunny, so she can gather plenty of firewood. Therefore, people are generally relieved if Imbolc is a day of foul weather, as it means the Cailleach is asleep and winter is almost over. Here in London, it is very sunny and bright indeed...

On the Isle of Man (Ellan Vannin in Manx gaelic) where she is known as Caillagh ny Groamagh, the Cailleach is said to have been seen on Imbolc in the form of a gigantic bird, carrying sticks in her beak. I have shown her in avian form at the top of the picture.

Today is a good day to light candles as darkness falls. Its also a great time for Wiccan initiations and a libation of milk poured upon the ground as offering to the earth wouldn't do any harm either.

The groundhog is also symbolic of rebirth and spring, just like the goddess who will make her official appearance on March 21st.

Yes, further suspicions were aroused when it was said that he was found after failing to pick them up. Would a father, even an addict, decide to take a long heroin ride just before such an appointment? That didn't make sense either.

Tesla has offered considerable research to confirm the occult significance of the event, maybe more than most of us want to know, but nonetheless it just goes to validate my own intuition, while at the same time sympathising with Bruno that it is very tiresome to see significance of this kind in every premature celebrity death. Fact is, there's a lot of murders going down in this way and we need to air our suspicions. I was surprised MJ lasted as long as he did after calling out the evil at the head of Sony records. The list goes on and on, Lennon and Diana and Whitney. Tesla could write a book, but you may as well draw a big red target on your back at the same time. Kudos to all the brave researchers and exposers of 'hind feet in high places'.

I find it strange that when celebrities die it is often 6 weeks before we hear the cause of death (which ends up being drug overdose more often than not)......autopsy has to be done and so on, but with Philip we have been told right from the start, drug over dose, syringe in his arm, heroine near by and now this... 50 bags of heroin in the apartment, what the hell was he getting ready for the grid to go down....I just find this amount of info quite unusual and it makes me suspicious
I am sure that the many other celebrities who died of an overdose had the signs of drug use at the scene of death, syringe etc but we don't hear that so why this time??

That era came to an end when one of the parents of a sacrificed boy found out about it. The other students in that year were given a choice to serve in WWI or be put in prison. They chose military service. It was a curious choice to give them as the US was not in WWI yet—in fact, no one was. It would take several more years before WWI started. The Bonesmen elders were behind schedule in getting it off the ground. Per the documents in the Rockefeller Archive much preparation had been done to ensure a world war. It was a relative of a VIP that had been killed, I believe, albeit a fairly unimportant one. He was considered a runt in the family, a distant cousin, and a “tag-along good-for-nothing” by the other boys forced to accept him as a member. He had furthermore a limp left over from an attack of polio, if I remember correctly, and lacked the athletic charisma that the others wanted Skull and Bones to be known for on campus.

Álfablót

The Álfablót or the Elven sacrifice was a pagan Scandinavian sacrifice to the elves towards the end of autumn, when the crops had been harvested and the animals were most fat.[1] Unlike the great blóts at Uppsala and Mære, the álfablót was a local celebration at the homesteads and they were mainly administered by the lady of the household.[2] Nothing is known about the particular rites because they were surrounded by secrecy and strangers were not welcome to the homesteads during the celebrations.[2] However, since the elves were collective powers with a close connection to ancestors and fertility, it is possible that the álfablót concerned ancestor worship and the life force of the family.[2] It also appears that Odin was implied and that the master of the household was called Ölvir when administering the rites.[1] The first element of Ölvir means "beer", which was an important element in Norse pagan sacrifices generally.[1]

There is a notable account of the ceremony in Austrfararvísur by the Norwegian skald Sigvatr Þórðarson, where he tried to impose on the privacy of a series of homes during the sacred family holiday, a privacy that he was accordingly asked to respect.[1]

An elf (plural: elves) is a type of supernatural being in Germanic mythology and folklore.[1][2] Early elves, whose description depends almost entirely on Norse mythology texts, were a race of beings with magical skills, ambivalent towards humans and capable of either helping or hindering them. Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that traces its origins to the local fraternities of stonemasons, which from the end of the fourteenth century regulated the qualifications of masons and their interaction with authorities and clients. The degrees of freemasonry, its gradal system, retain the three grades of medieval craft guilds, those of Apprentice, journeyman or fellow (now called Fellowcraft), and Master Mason. These are the degrees offered by craft, or blue lodge Freemasonry. There are additional degrees, which vary with locality and jurisdiction, and are now administered by different bodies than the craft degrees.

The basic, local organisational unit of Freemasonry is the lodge. Philip Seymour Hoffman boasted a set of names that haven’t been in vogue for a while. Philip, which means “lover of horses,” spent a century in the top 100 names before starting a slow and steady decline in the late 1980s. And it’s currently just in the top 500. It’s a name that’s been associated with royalty (see Prince Philip of England), an Apostle, and a host of luminaries, from novelists to rock musicians.

He stands, 32 feet of rippling cobalt muscles, glowing red eyes, and macabre art history. The sculptor, Luis Jiménez, died while building Blucifer when a piece of the sculpture fell on him in 2006. Undaunted, the airport installed the statue anyway in 2008. I'm having trouble imagining a roundtable committee voting to fund public art of this description, especially the red glowing eyes bit. It is Saturday night. A young Army officer and his wife welcome a small group of people to their comfortable split-level home, which stands amid the tidy landscaping of a housing development in Louisville. The guests — most of them dressed neatly in sports clothes — include a computer programmer, a store clerk, a dog trainer and a psychology major from the nearby University of Louisville. They all troop downstairs to a vinyl-floored recreation room.

Is this a bridge party? A committee meeting for a charity drive? Hardly. The hour is midnight. On the front door of the house is an orange emblem showing black pitchforks. Downstairs, the party is gathered solemnly before a black -draped altar. Facing them, on the wall, is a chartreuse goat-image superimposed on a purple pentagram. “To night there is one among us elected to the priesthood of Mendes,” intones one of the men. “Satan, thou hast seen fit to charge Warlock Shai with thy priesthood on earth … the deification of the human race.” Reciting an ordination rite first in Latin and then in English, the speaker taps a second man on each shoulder with a sword. Someone pours flash powder on the sterno altar flame and whoosh! Fire leaps toward the ceiling.

This recent scene — and many a similarly bizarre one — is being re-enacted all across the U.S. nowadays. In Oakland, Calif., when the moon is full, a group of college-educated people gather in a house in a middle-class neighborhood, remove their clothes, and whirl through the double spiral of a witches’ dance. In southern New Jersey, a 30-year-old receptionist winds thread around a voodoo doll and sticks steel pins into it in a determined effort to harass a rival at the office into resigning. In Chicago, from 75 to 100 otherwise ordinary people — mostly professionals, such as office managers, nurses, social workers and chemists — meet weekly in The Temple of the Pagan Way to take instruction in ancient witchcraft and ceremonial magic from a high priest and priestess.

Crystal Balls. A wave of fascination with the occult is noticeable throughout the country. It first became apparent a few years ago in the astrology boom, which continues. But today it also extends all the way from Satanism and witchcraft to the edges of science, as in Astronaut Edgar Mitchell’s experiment in extrasensory perception from aboard Apollo 14. In this area, serious researchers in the field of parapsychology are increasingly interacting with devotees of such claimed occult gifts as prophecy and telepathy to probe the powers of the human mind. Indeed, the very word occult—denoting hidden knowledge, secret arts or unexplainable phenomena—is no longer fully appropriate. While some practitioners still jealously guard their secrets, much of what once seemed occult has long since emerged from underground.

A good deal of the activity focuses around occult bookshops, which often offer subsidiary courses and services as well. One of the busiest is the Metaphysical Center in San Francisco. Its book department sells out 65% of its $25,000 stock every month. The center also presents tarot-card readings, daylong crash courses in palmistry (at $25 each), reincarnation workshops, and classes in astral projections, numerology and the esoteric Hebrew mystical system, the cabala. There is even a gift shop that sells ritual robes, amulets, special incense made from herbs, and crystal balls (large size, $25; small, $16.50).

Conventional bookshops have felt the impact too. In Manhattan’s courtly old Scribner Book Store on Fifth Avenue, books on the occult have completely taken over a counter that was once reserved for more traditional religious books (theological, inspirational and other churchly volumes are now relegated to a side bookcase).

Major publishers have issued dozens of hard-cover books on the occult and the related field of parapsychology in the past year. William Blatty’s novel The Exorcist has been on the bestseller list for 52 weeks. The 1968 movie Rosemary’s Baby—still the most terrifying of the lot—has spawned a series of occult successors, including, currently, The Possession of Joel Delaney and The Other. But the interest goes beyond books and movies: a growing number of colleges across the U.S. are offering courses on aspects of the occult.

New Alchemy. In a commercial sense, occultists seem to have discovered what alchemists sought for centuries: the ability to turn base materials into gold. The field even has its own monthly magazine, the Occult Trade Journal. Among the “marketing” reports that appeared in one recent issue is an article about Pan Am’s new $629 “Psychic Tour” of Great Britain, including a visit to a psychic healing center, a seance, and a day at Stonehenge with the chief of Britain’s Most Ancient Order of Druids. Each tourist receives his own astro-numerology chart, and flight dates are astrologically plotted to be favorable.

A trip to Europe—especially Great Britain—would be right in keeping with the current boom. England is experiencing such a resurgence of witchcraft and other occult dabbling that an ecumenical commission of Anglicans and Roman Catholics recently recommended that each diocese appoint an official exorcist to drive out demons. In France, a popular seer named Madame Soleil gives weekday advice on radio, and rumors say that Black Masses are being performed in Paris and Lyons.

German Journalist Horst Knaut estimates that at least 3,000,000 West Germans subscribe to some form of the occult, and perhaps 7,000,000 more “sympathize with the secret sciences.” Staid Switzerland abounds with oddball sects, including one in which a supposedly “possessed” girl was tortured to death a few years ago. In Italy, it is not so much the quantity as the quality of occultism that has changed. Long a part of Italy’s superstitious southern peasant culture, occultism has moved north to the industrialists, the doctors and lawyers of the affluent upper class.

Author Owen Rachleff (The Occult Conceit), who teaches a course called Witchcraft, Magic and Astrology at New York University, takes a dim view of the whole movement. “Most occultniks,” says Rachleff, “are either frauds of the intellectual and/or financial variety, or disturbed individuals who frequently mistake psychosis for psychic phenomena.” Yet for all its trivial manifestations in tea-leaf readings and ritual gewgaws, for all the outright nuts and charlatans it attracts, occultism cannot be dismissed as mere fakery or faddishness. Clearly, it is born of a religious impulse and in many cases it becomes in effect a substitute faith.

Much of the occult, after all, is man’s feeble attempt to become godlike, to master the world around him. It is, in short, magic, the earliest of man’s religious responses. The world’s oldest art works, the primitive animal paintings in the cave at Lascaux in southwestern France, for example, were Stone Age man’s magical invocation of success in the hunt. The astrology so many millions follow today is a direct legacy from the astronomer priests of Babylonia. Even when Christianity spread through Europe, many in the countryside kept their rustic rites along with the new religion. (“Pagan” stems from the Latin paganus meaning “country dweller” and “heathen” from “dweller on the heath.”) For centuries, magical arts and Christianity lived in uneasy coexistence, as they still do in Latin American countries. But then, out of ancient lore and the minds of medieval churchmen, came the Devil.

Winged Creature. He was not a Christian invention. One of his most persistent forms in the popular imagination—the horned, winged creature with claws—dates at least as far back as ancient Mesopotamia, where it was the image of Pazuzu, the malaria-bearing demon of the southwest wind, the “king of the evil spirits of the air.” In the Old Testament the Devil was satan, the Hebrew word for adversary, as in the Book of Job. Throughout the Old Testament, he remains clearly subject to the wrath and will of Yahweh. But the New Testament began to give the Devil stature, especially with Jesus’ temptation in the desert, when the Devil offered him all the kingdoms of the world (Matthew 4: 8-9).

By the time the early church fathers were compiling a theology of the Devil, the mystery religion of Gnosticism was on the scene, proclaiming that the world and all material things in it were irredeemably evil. Taking up the Gnostics’ bias, the fathers often wrote as if Satan really were the ruler of the world, or at least its viceroy.

Meantime, an entire mythology of the origin of devils arose. One story, based largely on a nonbiblical narrative known as the Book of Enoch (and brief mentions in Genesis and the epistles of Jude and II Peter), told of an angelic race of “Watchers,” who were tempted to have intercourse with terrestrial women, and sired a race of giants. The giants died in internecine battle, but their bodies gave forth demonic spirits that prowled the world doing evil.

It took centuries more for the church to condemn witchcraft and magic as exclusive tools of the Devil; persecution did not begin in earnest until the 13th century. By then much of the residual paganism had died out, and at least some of the witchcraft and magic had turned more sinister. The spirits now invoked for aid were demons; the pact was with the Devil. So at least the Dominican inquisitors saw it, and so many suspects admitted.

Corrupt Priest. Some of the confessions must have been sheer defiance: faced with a ruling establishment that was sanctified by the church, a resentful peasantry followed the only image of rebellion they knew—Satan. The satanic messiah became especially appealing in times of despair, such as the era of the plague known as the Black Death. Real or imagined, the pact with the Devil may have been the last bad hope for safety in a world fallen out of joint. Thousands died in the persecution, many of them probably guilty only of delusion. Even benevolent magic was swept away in the purges: the “good walkers” of Friuli in the 16th century believed that their spirits rose from their bodies as they slept and went out into the fields to do battle with evil forces. Despite their good intentions, they were categorized as witches and condemned by the church.

Others were not so guiltless. A peak of sulfur-and-brimstone intensity was reached by the Satanists of 17th century France, who were rooted out by a secret court under Louis XIV. A famous case of that day involved a series of demonic rituals commissioned by a mistress of Louis who felt that she was falling out of favor. To regain the monarch’s love, she had a corrupt priest say sacrilegious Masses *over her nude body in a subterranean Paris chamber, sacrificing a live child at the height of each Mass.

Despite such malevolent connections, Satan remained a temptingly attractive figure. Milton made him such a hero that next to him Christ looked almost pallid. Faust’s fiendish friend, Mephistopheles, is one of literature’s great protagonists. It is no new thing for the Rolling Stones to conjure up Sympathy for the Devil. He had it long ago, even from so famous a church father as Origen, who speculated that Satan and his fallen angels would be saved at the end of time.

Even the Enlightenment did not do the Devil in. Just as ancient Romans flocked to mystery cults in the days of religious and political decay, so do more modern men seek out the occult in times of stress or excessive pragmatism. The Victorian period saw one such flowering, the 1920s another. Now an occult revival has come to the space age.

Despite the bewildering variety of fads and fascinations involved in it, there are roughly four main categories, and Lucifer still has his place:

SATANISM. “Blessed are the strong, for they shall possess the earth. If a man smite you on one cheek, SMASH him on the other!” This inverted gospel —from Anton Szandor La Vey’s The Satanic Bible—sets the tone for today’s leading brand of Satanism, the San Francisco-based Church of Satan. Founded in 1966 by La Vey, a former circus animal trainer, the Church of Satan offers a mirror image of most of the beliefs and ethics of traditional Christianity.

La Vey’s church and its branches might well be called the “unitarian” wing of the occult. The members invest themselves with some of the most flamboyant trappings of occultism, but magic for them is mostly psychodrama —or plain old carnival hokum. They invoke Satan not as a supernatural being, but as a symbol of man’s self-gratifying ego, which is what they really worship. They look down on those who actually believe in the supernatural, evil or otherwise.

La Vey’s church is organized, incorporated and protected under the laws of California. La Vey, 42, stopped giving out membership figures when his followers, who are grouped in local “grottoes,” reached a total of 10,000. The most striking thing about the members of the Church of Satan (one of whom is shown on TIME’S cover) is that instead of being exotic, they are almost banal in their normality. Their most insidious contribution to evil is their resolute commitment to man’s animal nature, stripped of any spiritual dimension or thought of self-sacrifice. There is no reach, in Browning’s famous terms —only grasp. Under the guise of eschewing hypocrisy, they actively pursue the materialistic values of the affluent society—without any twinge of conscience to suggest there might be something more.

They jockey for upward mobility in the five degrees of church membership, which closely resemble those in witchcraft covens: apprentice, warlock (or witch), wizard (or enchantress), sorcerer (or sorceress) and magus—the degree that La Vey holds. The ruling Council of Nine, which La Vey heads, makes appointments to various ranks on the basis not only of the candidate’s proficiency in Satanist doctrine but also his “dining preferences,” the “style of decor” in his home, and the “make, year and condition” of his automobile.

The Army officer who celebrated the recent ordination in Louisville is a fourth-degree Satanist priest, a memmber of the Council of Nine and editor of La Vey’s “confidential” newsletter, the Cloven Hoof. He is also the author of a widely used ROTC textbook. Other La Vey Satanists include a Marine Corps N.C.O. from North Carolina and, in New Jersey’s Lilith Grotto, a real estate broker and an insurance executive. Beyond such devotees, La Vey’s sinister balderdash reaches hundreds of thousands more through the black gospel of The Satanic Bible and his second book, The Compleat Witch, in which his advice reaches the downright sordid.

Besides La Vey’s well-publicized group, there are some quasi-Satanists in the public eye. The Process Church of the Final Judgment (TIME, Sept. 6) includes Satan in its Godhead along with Christ, Jehovah and Lucifer (who is seen as a separate divinity), though it has been playing down Satan lately and emphasizing Christ. But the darker, more malevolent Satanists give only rare and tantalizing hints of their existence, and none at all of their numbers —probably for good reason. Sociologist Marcello Truzzi of Florida’s New College at Sarasota observes that one variety of this underground Satanism consists primarily of sex clubs that embellish their orgies with Satanist rituals. A larger variety, he says, are the drug-oriented cults, whose members improvise their Satanism as they go along.

The most famous of such groups, so far, is the Charles Manson “family,” but now and again other grisly items in the news reveal the breed. In New York this spring, police were searching for possible Devil worshipers in a grave-robbery incident. In Miami last summer, a 22-year-old woman Satanist killed a 62-year-old friend, stabbing him 46 times. Convicted of manslaughter, she drew a seven-year sentence, thanked Satan for her light penalty, and said that she had “enjoyed” the killing. In April she escaped from prison, and has not been recaptured.

WITCHCRAFT. In 1921, British Anthropologist Margaret Murray advanced the theory that witchcraft was basically a vestige of the nature worship of Europe’s pagan days. Scholars have challenged her theory, but many of today’s “white witches” take her suggestion and imitate pagan ways rather than satanic witchcraft. Generally, white witches derive their presumed power from beneficent forces of nature and use it in an effort to heal, resolve disputes and achieve good for others. Such benevolent magic may also include defensive spells against the maledictions of black witches. The black witches invoke power from the darker forces of nature—or Satan—and generally employ their magic for themselves, either in an attempt to acquire something or to cast a malicious spell on an enemy.

America’s most famous witch, Sybil Leek, lives comfortably today in Florida, “practically a millionaire,” she says, from sales of her books. She takes pride in being a hereditary witch whose lineage, she says, goes all the way back to 1134. Redhaired, with deep-set blue-green eyes, Sybil at 48 still looks her part. Like many another witch, she prefers to call her craft by the Anglo-Saxon name of wicca, which is thought to have referred to a kind of early medieval medicine man. She admits that witchcraft is power and bemoans the fact that in America “power leads to corruption. People wish to use witchcraft to personal advantage. [In] pure witchcraft, the life force is all important. Satanism is death. Wicca is a religion designed to preserve life.”

Aidan Kelly’s San Francisco Bay area coven seems more designed to celebrate life. Kelly, 31, a former Roman Catholic who is a manuscript editor of physics textbooks, generally follows a variety of witchcraft called Gardnerian, after a retired British customs official, Gerald Gardner, who formulated it in England in the 1940s. Gardnerian witchcraft is what Occult Debunker Owen Rachleff calls “library witchcraft”: it seems to have been largely concocted from books, perhaps combined with some rudimentary witchcraft practices of existing covens in the Hampshire hills. Kelly himself is one of the founders of a Gardnerian spin-off called the New Reformed Orthodox Order of the Golden Dawn, and has rewritten many of Gardner’s rituals and created new ones of his own.

The main ritual is conducted every month when the moon is full. If the ceremony is indoors, it is conducted “sky-clad”—in the nude. It begins with a dance, men and women rotating in a circle facing out. “Thout-tout-a-tout-tout,” they sing, “throughout and about.” The men put their weight only on the toes of their left feet, which gives them a hobbling gait. At a certain moment, the priestess breaks free and guides the others inward in a spiral. When she gets to the center, she kisses the man next to her and begins to unwind the spiral. Each woman then kisses each man, and the spiral opens up into a circle again.

The double-spiral dance, claims Kelly, is a 6,000-year-old symbol of reincarnation, which the witches ardently believe in. Costume, obviously, is minimal: a white waist cord for first-degree witches, a red cord for second degree, and a magic knife called an othame. So far, not even Kelly has felt prepared to go for the highest degree, the green garter. Among other things, it involves a milder version of what Gardner called the “Great Rite,” an act of ritual sexual intercourse. “Nobody in our coven,” says Kelly, “has felt ready to take it.”

PROPHECY. Power, the occultists and their critics agree, is at the core of the occult quest for self-realization. Time and again, converts from traditional religions relate how they resented being told what to do by their priests or ministers, how the occult gives them freedom to do what they want, seek what they want. In Christianity the Gospel message is submission to God; in the occult the ruling motive is control. One anxiety the occultists share with the rest of mankind is about the future. They want to know it, and many of them believe that they can glimpse it.

Astrology has long been the favorite method for divining the future, but many new occultists these days combine their interest in astrology with other ancient methods of divination. The I Ching, the ancient Chinese Book of Changes, provides one of them—an elaborate and complicated casting of sticks (or in another variation, coins). Their random order of fall directs the inquirer to appropriate passages in the book, which then guide his actions. Tarot cards are another favorite. The standard tarot deck has 78 cards, 56 of the “minor arcana,” similar to and forerunners of modern playing cards, and 22 “major arcana” cards depicting such mystical symbols as The Devil, The Fool, The Lovers and The Hanged Man, each of which has many interpretations. The tarots can be laid out in several ways to tell fortunes and interpret character; one method sets them in the form of a cross, another in an outline of a “tree of life.”

The most dramatic prophecies are made by individual psychics who claim the ability to foresee the future. The 16th century physician and astrologer Nostradamus is perhaps the most famous of all time. Nostradamus knew the trick: his writings were cryptic, and interpreters can read any number of different predictions into a single passage. Modern seers like Jeane Dixon are also generally vague, and they bolster their visions by keeping an observant eye on human nature and events. Sybil Leek, for instance, predicted the likelihood of an assassination attempt on Presidential Candidate George Wallace—but many thoughtful and apprehensive laymen could have done the same.

The best-known modern seer is undoubtedly the late Edgar Cayce, a devout Protestant, who made his predictions in a sleep-like trance. His long-range prognostications, such as the imminent rise of the lost continent of Atlantis and another in the Pacific called Lemuria, have become cult favorites, but Cayce in fact had many misses in his predictions. What gave him his credibility was a more limited but very special talent, the ability to diagnose illnesses of persons many miles away. Many Americans —most, the optimistic would say —still find the craze for prophecy foolish and even bankrupt. Others may enjoy the predictions for what many of them are—a parlor entertainment. But millions, obviously, need reassurance about the future.

SPIRITUALISM. Spiritualists are often categorized merely as mediums to contact the “other side,” as holders of seances to call up some departed spirit. In fact, that is only one of their functions. General practitioners of the occult, spiritualists often spend as much or more time healing and counseling as they do holding séances.

The art of spiritual healing is a gift frequently mentioned in the New Testament in connection with Jesus. Many a saint has since established his credentials with healing miracles, and many an evangelical preacher—and occultist—still tries. One such is the Rev. Bonnie Gehman, 32, an attractive woman who heads her own Spiritual Research Society in Orlando, Fla. Founded two years ago, S.R.S. offers religious services, training for mediums and healers, and healing services that evoke the style and flavor of Christian Healer Kathryn Kuhlman (TIME, Sept. 14, 1970).

At least a quarter of the Rev. Geh-man’s work is in health readings for those who seek her help in detecting illness; several reputable doctors in the area bring patients to her for diagnostic clues. Her information, in true spiritualist tradition, comes from “spirit guides,” friendly sources on the “spirit side” who offer secret information to the “earth plane.” On Sundays, standing in a pink chiffon dress in her pulpit, Bonnie will call out, “I want to talk to the lady in the pretty white dress. Those on the spirit side tell me to pass on to you a message not to worry about your lower back.” To another woman: “Your husband has applied for a new job. They tell me it will be a choice of two things. Everything will be all right.”

No skeptic has proven spiritualism to be valid, but there is a residue of the unexplained in these claimed psychic events, some occurrences that seem to defy the laws of chance or mere coincidence. It is just such phenomena that are currently being investigated by parapsychologists under the general heading of ESP, extrasensory perception: telepathy, communication from one mind to another without normal means; precognition, the prediction of future events; clairvoyance, the power to discern objects not present to the senses; and psychokinesis, the movement of material objects with the mind. While investigations go on, though, such gifts pose a problem for Christians. The Old Testament expressly forbids soothsaying; but the prophets’ sort of future prediction was an obvious exception. The New Testament phenomenon of spiritual prophecy among early Christians was seen as a gift of the Holy Spirit —although Christians are warned to discern “good” spirits from bad.

Demonic Dangers. At least some clergymen have chosen the path of investigation. The late Episcopal Bishop James A. Pike was probably the most enthusiastic—and for more orthodox Christians, embarrassing—investigator, claiming to have communicated with his dead son with the aid of the minister-medium the Rev. Arthur Ford. Ford and other, somewhat less flamboyant Protestant ministers had even earlier formed a group known as the Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship to open a bridge between traditional Christianity and the occult. For evangelicals and fundamentalists, on the other hand, nearly every aspect of the occult still remains a demonic danger, from ouija-board prophecy to the evocation of a personal and malevolent Satan. Some fundamental ists even attribute every non-Christian spiritual movement to the inspiration of demons.

Whether as a threat or a promise —or as an object lesson—occultism is a phenomenon with which a growing number of churchmen realize that they must come to terms. One who sees it from a particularly revealing angle is the Rev. Festo Kivengere, an Anglican evangelist in Uganda who has been on a speaking tour of the U.S. Kivengere, who was raised as an animist, discerns in occultism “a trend toward the kind of religion that most of my people were converted from.”

Though his family worshiped the “Great God,” he says, they sought the aid of spirits to prevent “catastrophes that were beyond our control.” He senses a similar need in the West today —”something on which you can lean in this complicated life. There is a profound disappointment in the things that people put their trust in. Whatever his material welfare, man is threatened with non-being.”

Philosopher Huston Smith of Massachusetts Institute of Technology is one of many authorities who see the occult revival as a response to the failure of science and reason, a movement spurred by the conviction that technology has failed to make the world better, as Americans long believed it would. Dean J. Stillson Judah of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley suggests that today’s young people “cannot live as so many of us do, without the depth of myth and symbol and the richness of mysticism that existed before the rise of the empirical scientific attitude.”

In his 1970 book What About Horoscopes? Evangelical Author-Editor Joseph Bayly lays much of the blame at the door of traditional Christianity. “Another age might have turned to the church in its anxiety and desire for a mystical element in life,” writes Bayly. “But to many people, today’s church seems impotent because it is identified with the problems it should be solving. They see the church as a mere authenticator of the Establishment. The individual is a unit to be counted in large church meetings, his money rung up, just as he is counted by business, university and government for their purposes. Beauty’s holiness, or holiness’s beauty, fades before pragmatism and expediency. But the desire for mystery will be satisfied.”

Magician Playmate. Mixed with the desire for mystery, though, is undoubtedly a desire for mere novelty. Jesuit Theologian John Navone of Rome’s Pontifical Gregorian University, who held a “Devil Day” at the Gregorian recently to discuss the theology of the Devil, so far is not seriously alarmed by the recrudescence of Satanism. In modern Devil cults, he argues, the Devil “is more often a type of magician playmate, the product of a Playboy culture rather than the malign personal being found in Scripture. These cults tend to use the Devil for a type of arcane amusement, whereas the unamusing Devil that appears in Scripture manages to use men for his dark purposes.”

Sociologist Truzzi argues somewhat similarly in a recent issue of the Sociological Quarterly. “If we fully believed in demons,” Truzzi writes, “we certainly would not want to call them up.” For most occultists, he says, the occult arts and practices are just a form of “pop religion,” more healthy than dangerous. “It shows a playful contempt for what was once viewed seriously by many, and still is by some.” Mass interest in the occult indicates “a kind of victory over the supernatural, a demystification of what were once fearful and threatening cultural elements. What were once dark secrets known only through initiation into arcane orders are now exposed to everyman.”

There is a danger, of course, in taking the Devil too lightly, for in doing so man might take evil too lightly as well. Recent history has shown terrifyingly enough that the demonic lies barely beneath the surface, ready to catch men unawares with new and more horrible manifestations. But the Devil taken too seriously can become the ultimate scapegoat, the excuse for the world’s evils and the justification for men’s failure to improve themselves.

Perhaps the ideal solution would be to give the Devil his due, whether as a symbolic reminder of evil or a real force to be conquered—but to separate him, once and for all, from “magic.” Beyond all the charlatanism, there is a genuine realm of magic, a yet undiscovered territory between man and his universe. Perhaps it can once more be accepted as a legitimate pursuit of knowledge, no longer hedged in by bell, book and candle. Perhaps, eventually, religion, science and magic could come mutually to respect and supplement one another. That is a fond vision, and one that is pinned to a fragile and perpetually unprovable faith: that the universe itself is a whole, with purpose and promise beneath the mystery.

In Norse mythology, Gungnir (Old Norse "swaying one"[1]) is the spear of the god Odin.

In the Poetic Edda poem Völuspá, the Æsir-Vanir War is described as officially starting when Odin throws a spear over the heads of an assembly of Vanir gods. Whether or not this was specifically Gungnir is, however, unstated. In Sigrdrífumál, the valkyrie Sigrdrífa advises Sigurd on the magical application of runes. She gives Sigurd advice and shares with him lore, including that runes were carved on the tip of Gungnir.

According to chapter 51 of the Prose Edda book, Gylfaginning, Odin will ride in front of the Einherjar while advancing on to the battle field at Ragnarök wearing a gold helmet, an impressive cloak of mail and carrying Gungnir. He will then attack the wolf Fenrir with it.

In Skáldskaparmál, more information regarding the spear is presented. The spear was fashioned by the dwarfs known as the Sons of Ivaldi under the mastery of the blacksmith dwarf Dvalin. The spear was obtained from the dwarfs by Loki, the result of a scheme he concocted as a partial reparation for his cutting of the goddess Sif's hair. The spear is described as being so well balanced that it could strike any target, no matter the skill or strength of the wielder.

If the rider on horseback on the image on the Böksta Runestone has been correctly identified as Odin, then Odin is shown carrying Gungnir while hunting an elk.

In Wagner's opera cycle, Der Ring des Nibelungen, Wotan's (Odin's) spear is made from the wood of the world tree Yggdrasil and engraved with the contracts from which Wotan's power derives. He uses the spear to break the sword of Siegmund, leading to Siegmund's death. When he tries to bar the eponymous hero of the opera, Siegfried (Siegmund's son), from awakening Brünnhilde from her magic sleep, Siegfried breaks the spear in two and Wotan flees. It is implied that this is also the end of Wotan's power and he never appears onstage again.

The threefold death, which is suffered by kings, heroes, and gods, is a putatively Proto-Indo-European theme – although it occurs most commonly in Celtic and Germanic mythology. There are two distinct types of threefold deaths in Indo-European myth and ritual. In the first type of threefold death, one person dies simultaneously in three ways. He dies by hanging (or strangulation or falling from a tree), by drowning (or poison), and by wounding. These three deaths are foretold, and are often punishment for an offense against the three functions of Indo-European society. In Welsh legend, Myrddin Wyllt (one of the sources for Merlin of Arthurian legend) is associated with threefold death. As a test of his skill, Merlin is asked to prophesy how a boy will die. He says the boy will fall from a rock. The same boy, with a change of clothes, is presented again, and Merlin prophesies that he will hang. Then, dressed in a girl's clothes, the boy is presented, and Merlin replies, "Woman or no, he will drown." As a young man, the victim, in a hunt, falls from a rock, is caught in a tree, and hanging head down in a lake, drowns. Myrddin Wyllt also reportedly prophesied his own death, which would happen by falling, stabbing, and drowning. This was fulfilled when a gang of jeering shepherds drove him off a cliff, where he was impaled on a stake left by fishermen, and died with his head below water.The Norse god Odin is also associated with the threefold death. Human sacrifices to Odin were hanged from trees. Odin is said to have hanged himself in order to learn the secrets of magic. If CharlemagneÕs inauguration as the King of the Lombards in 774 had likewise included his grasping of this now-Christianized sacred or royal lance, this would explain how it would have eventually become the oldest item in the German imperial regalia. We might also note that the Iron Crown of Lombardy (dated to the 8th century), which eventually became the primary symbol of Lombardic kingship, takes its name from the tradition that it also contains one of the holy nails.

IRON CROWN OF LOMBARDY

"The Iron Crown of Lombardy (Corona Ferrea) is both a reliquary and one of the most ancient royal insignia of Europe. It is kept in the Cathedral at Monza near Milan, the capital of Lombardy.

Antiquity:

The Iron Crown is so called from a narrow band of iron about one centimeter (three-eighths of an inch) within it, said to be beaten out of one of the nails used at the Crucifixion. According to tradition, the nail was first given to Emperor Constantine I the Great by his mother Saint Helena, who discovered the Cross.

How it fell into the hands of the Lombard Kings, Germanic conquerors of northern Italy, is not well explained.

The outer circlet of the crown is of six gold and enamel segments of beaten gold, joined together by hinges and set with precious stones that stand out in relief, in the form of crosses and flowers.

Its small size and hinged construction have suggested to some that it was originally an armlet or perhaps a votive crown that was presented to the Cathedral of Monza, where it is preserved as a holy relic.

Modern uses:

On March 1, 1026, Heribert, the archbishop of Milan, crowned Emperor Conrad II at Milan with the Iron Crown of Lombardy.

From the 9th to the 12th century the Kings of Italy received the Iron Crown of Lombardy at Pavia.

On the May 26, 1805, Napoleon Bonaparte had himself crowned King of Italy at Milan, with suitable splendor and magnificence. Seated upon a superb throne, he was invested with the usual insignia of royalty by the Cardinal Archbishop of Milan, and ascending the altar, he took the iron crown, and placing it on his head, exclaimed, being part of the ceremony used at the enthronement of the Lombard Kings, Dieu me le donne, prendre garde ceux qui il touche – "God gives it to me, beware those who touch it".

The "Spear of Destiny" is a name given to the Holy Lance in various accounts that attribute mystical powers to it. Many of these have originated in recent times, and several popular New Age and conspiracy theory books have popularized the legend of the Spear.

Ravenscroft repeatedly attempted to define the mysterious "powers" that the legend says the spear serves. He found it to be a hostile and evil spirit, which he sometimes referred to as the Antichrist, though that is open to interpretation. He never actually referred to the spear as spiritually controlled, but rather as intertwined with all of mankind's ambitions.

Over 350 years ago, the apparition of Our Lady of Good Success in Quito, Ecuador predicted that at the end of the 20th century, Satan would almost totally rule the world by means of Freemasonry. Does the Illuminati rule organizations like the Fabian Society and its offspring, the charity Oxfam, too?

Like Freemasonry, the socialist Fabian Society can be understood by its symbology. The Fabian Society's original emblem was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The Fabian Society originated in England in 1884, with the purpose of forming a single, global socialist state. They get their name from the Roman general Fabius, who used carefully planned strategies to slowly wear down his enemies over a long period of time to obtain victory.

"Fabian Socialism" uses incremental change over a long period of time to slowly transform a state as opposed to using violent revolution for change. It is essentially socialism by stealth.

Working hand in hand with the Fabian Society is the charity Oxfam International, founded in 1944 by British Fabians like Gilbert Murray, Quakers, and Oxford academics. Oxfam was originally known as the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, and has always worked closely with the Fabian Society.

Initially, Oxfam helped relieve famine in war-torn Greece. By 1960, Oxfam had become a non-governmental organization. In Canada, they have released a recent curriculum on gender justice, climate change, HIV/AIDS, self-sufficiency, and entrepreneurship for women. This just happens to be a snapshot of the the Illuminati agenda.

Gender Justice for Global Development is a recent curriculum designed by Oxfam Canada for use in Canadian high schools. The curriculum has seven modules that discuss "gender justice," women, power, poverty, humanitarian emergencies, HIV/AIDS, global food security, gender and water, Darfur, Haiti, and body mapping.

Promoting feminism and "gender justice" does not help poor women. The term itself implies that women are being mistreated and feminism is the remedy. If anything it just serves to break down marriage and family.

Like outcome- based education, "Gender Justice for Global Development" encourages young people to become "change agents" for the globalist agenda. The curriculum focuses mainly on the suffering of poor women in Third World and gives statistics relating to their plight. Men apparently do not starve.

Clearly, this is a typical Illuminati effort to turn the sexes against each other, as they have done in the developed world.

The hideous, ugly, and primitive "art" in the body mapping section of Gender Justice is an attack on Western artistic standards. It seems reminiscent of paganism, another aspect of globalism.

As with many socialist promotions, the curriculum Gender Justice fdiscusses climate. However, now that it is increasingly obvious that "global warming" is a myth, they have changed tactics and are using the term "climate change" instead. There is much talk in the curriculum about climate disasters and emergency relief for far off lands such as Haiti and Darfur.

There is no acknowledgment in "Gender Justice for Global Development," that charity begins in the home. Nor is there any acknowledgment that there is increasing poverty and financial hardship in Canada and the United States, or what to do about it.

Oxfam has branches in 14 nations, including the United States and Canada. It is partly funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, which states on its website that it is devoted to spreading globalism.

Singing from the same song book, most major charities appear to be under Illuminati control.

Let us return to the traditional practice of helping our poor neighbors directly by almsgiving.

This is better than throwing money at organizations like Oxfam that do little to help the poor of the Third World, and much to promote the Illuminati globalist agenda.

How do you know PSH made poor choices? I'm assuming your conclusions may be founded on a narrative you are taking at face. In any case, it's a curious conclusion.

We live in a world where we should not believe any narrative, by default, reported by the mediated industrial complex. Nothing. No matter how believable or plausible. Reality itself, as projected via Madison Avenue and the media is one big psyops. One cannot begin to overstate this no matter how ridiculous it sounds. That doesn't mean it is not believable that PSH had a drug problem and overdosed. The suggestion by itself it is credulous (I actually agree with your post). It is possible his death occurred exactly as it was reported with no foul play nor sinister undercurrent. But I don't believe it for a second just because the most credulous and plausible explanation so happens to be what The Times et. al is reporting.

This is a winded answer to your question, but the skinny is, the main reason it is "so hard to believe" is because nothing mediated is ever as it seems.

Philip Seymour Hoffman once intervened to persuade Heath Ledger to quit heroin - talking the actor into believing there was a life worth living outside of hard drugs and guiding him into sobriety - a source tells Popdust.

Sadly, Ledger's new found commitment to staying clean was short lived -the 28-year-old was found dead in his New York apartment in 2008 from an accidental drugs overdose.

Although he had stayed away from heroin it seems he had found other ways to satisfy his addiction, eventually succumbing to a deadly combination of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine.

Street heroin is devastating America today. The heroin overdose death of creative genius Philip Seymour Hoffman – found dead today with a needle in his arm and “Ace of Spaces” heroin in his hotel room — underscores the urgent need for radical reforms that would decriminalize, regulate and assert strict quality control requirements over recreational street drugs.

It wasn’t the heroin itself that killed Philip Seymour Hoffman, you see: it was the unpredictability of the potency of heroin that’s manufactured, distributed and retailed in an unregulated underground economy which has no quality standards and no accountability to its customers and users.

The War on Drugs is an absolute failure

At first glance to the simple minded, the heroin-induced death of a beloved actor might seem justification for an urgent call to escalate the War on Drugs with an even greater degree of police intervention, state surveillance and expansion of the world’s largest prison system. Yet such decades-long efforts did nothing to prevent to death of Hoffman, and in many ways they undoubtedly contributed to it. When an in-demand chemical product cannot be legally regulated, controlled and distributed alongside medical treatment protocols for addiction, it inevitably falls into the hands of underground operators who, almost by definition, exhibit zero quality control standards and are steeped in a culture of violence and criminality.

And that means the heroin which people like Hoffman are able to acquire is unpredictable: it may be contaminated with toxic substances, combined with physiological multipliers that enhance toxicity, cut with deadly fillers, or dosed with dangerously wide variability to the point where users have no idea how much of the drug they’re really getting with each injection. Every dose is a roll of the dice, and far too frequently that gamble ends in tragedy.

How the war on drugs makes drugs even more deadly

The drug war has failed to keep recreational drugs out of the hands of substance abusers all across America, and in its failure it has vastly increased the toxicity of those drugs to the point where the drugs are increasingly deadly. Remember: Hoffman’s overdose was not a suicide. This was an addict who believed he was simply getting another day’s fix. He had no intention of killing himself.

If street drugs like heroin could be decriminalized, regulated, controlled and distributed in a medical context along with serious addiction treatment protocols, those who choose to abuse the drug would, at the very least, be able to count on consistent dosing and drug composition. Shifting the massive demand for recreational drugs out of the hands of shady criminal operations and into the hands of pharmacies, clinics and addiction treatment centers is not only medically justified but morally and ethically demanded. It also has the revolutionary side effect of causing the economic collapse of drug gangs (and all their violence).

Substance addiction is not a criminal mindset; it is a medical addiction. But by forcing substance addicts to deal with the criminal underground, we condemn them to precisely the kind of toxicity and unpredictability that killed Hoffman.

Hoffman’s death is an urgent call for a sane drug policy in America

Hoffman’s untimely and tragic death is yet another urgent reminder that our current drug policies in America — all based on an utterly failed, cruel and outmoded paradigm of criminality — must urgently change.

Nobody wishes to see anyone use heroin, meth, crank or other “hard” street drugs, yet people are going to use them one way or another regardless of what the rest of us wish. If we hope to see fewer of these people die from drug poisoning and overdose, we must find a way to heavily regulate, control and prescribe these synthetic molecules to addicts in conjunction with compassionate addiction treatment programs that treat these addicts as human beings who need help rather than felony criminals who need prison time.
Let Hoffman’s death serve to remind us all, yet again, that federal drug policy in the USA can never work as it is currently configured. Drug addiction is a medical issue, not a criminal issue, and until it is treated as such, the War on Drugs will continue to waste billions of dollars while unnecessarily destroying millions of lives.

Why I Left Freemasonry

When I was converted to Christ I had belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Adams, New York, about four years. During the struggle of conviction of sin through which I passed, I do not recollect that the question of Freemasonry ever occurred to my mind.

New Views of Lodgism

But soon after my conversion, the evening came for attendance upon the Lodge, and I went. They, of course, were aware that I had become a Christian and the Master called upon me to open the Lodge with prayer. I did so, and poured out my heart to the Lord for blessings upon the Lodge. I observed that it created considerable excitement. The evening passed away, and at the close of the Lodge I was asked to pray again. I did so, and retired much depressed in spirit. I soon found that I was completely converted from Freemasonry to Christ, and that I could have no fellowship with any of the proceedings of the Lodge. Its oaths appeared to me to be monstrously profane and barbarous.

At that time I did not know how much I had been imposed upon by many of the pretensions of Masonry. But, upon reflection and examination, a severe struggle and earnest prayer, I found I could not consistently remain with them. My new life instinctively and irresistibly recoiled from any fellowship with what I now regarded as "the unfruitful works of darkness."

Quietly Withdrawing Membership

Without consulting anyone, I finally went to the Lodge and requested my discharge. My mind was made up. Withdraw from them I must -- with their consent if I might; without this consent if I must. Of this I said nothing; but somehow it came to be known that I had withdrawn.

They therefore planned a Masonic festival and sent a committee to me, requesting me to deliver an oration on that occasion. I quietly declined to do so, informing the committee that I could not conscientiously, in any wise, do what would show my approval of the institution, or sympathy with it. However, for the time, and for years afterward I remained silent, and said nothing against Masonry; though I had then so well considered the matter as to regard my Masonic oaths as utterly null and void. But from that time I never allowed myself to be recognized as a Freemason anywhere.

Beginning a Public Testimony

This was a few years before the revelations of Freemasonry by Captain William Morgan were published. When that book was published, I was asked if it was a true revelation of Freemasonry. I replied that it was so far as I knew anything about it, and that as nearly as I could recollect, it was a verbatim revelation of the first three degrees as I had myself taken them. I frankly acknowledged that that which had been published was a true account of the institution, and a true expose' of their oaths, principles and proceedings. After I had considered it more thoroughly, I was more perfectly convinced that I had no right to adhere to the institution, or appear to do so; and that I was bound, whenever the occasion came, to speak my mind freely in regard to it, and to renounce the horrid oaths that I had taken.

Masonic Oaths Procured by Fraud

I found that in taking these oaths I had been grossly deceived and imposed upon. I had been led to suppose that there were some very important secrets to be communicated to me; but in this I found myself entirely disappointed. Indeed I came to the deliberate conclusion that my oaths had been procured by fraud and misrepresentations; that the institution was in no respect what I had been informed it was; and as I have had the means of examining it more thoroughly, it has become more and more irresistibly plain to me that Masonry is highly dangerous to the State, and in every way injurious to the Church of Christ.

Features of an Anti-Christ

Judging from unquestionable evidences, how can we fail to pronounce Freemasonry an unchristian institution? We can see that its morality is unchristian. Its oath-bound secrecy is unchristian. The administration and taking of its oaths are unchristian and a violation of the positive command of Christ. And Masonic oaths pledge its members to some of the most unlawful and unchristian things:

1. To conceal each other's crimes.

2. To deliver each other from difficulty, whether right or wrong.

3. To unduly favor Masonry in political action and in business matters.

4. Its members are sworn to retaliate and persecute unto death the violators of Masonic obligations.

5. Freemasonry knows no mercy, and swears its candidates to avenge violations of Masonic obligations unto death.

6. Its oaths are profane, taking the Name of God in vain.

7. The penalties of these oaths are barbarous, even savage.

8. Its teachings are false and profane.

9. Its designs are partial and selfish.

10. Its ceremonies are a mixture of puerility and profanity.

11. Its religion is false.

12. It professes to save men on other conditions than those revealed in the Gospel of Christ.

13. It is wholly an enormous falsehood.

14. It is a swindle, obtaining money from its members under false pretenses.

15. It refuses all examinations, and veils itself under a mantle of oath-bound secrecy.

16. It is virtual conspiracy against both Church and State.

I renounce the oaths taken and the curses involved in the First or Entered Apprentice degree, especially their effects on the throat and tongue. I renounce the Hoodwink, the blindfold, and its effects, on emotions and eyes, including all confusion, fear of the dark, fear of the light, and fear of sudden noises. I renounce the secret word BOAZ and all it means. I renounce the mixing and mingling of truth and error and the blasphemy of this degree of Masonry. I renounce the noose around the neck, the fear of choking and also every spirit causing asthma, hay fever, emphysema or any other breathing difficulty. I renounce the compass point, sword or spear held against the breast, the fear of death by stabbing pain and the fear of heart attack from this degree. In the name of Jesus Christ I now pray for healing of... (The throat, vocal cords, nasal passages, sinus, bronchial tubes etc.) And for healing of the speech area, and the release of the Word of God to me and through me and my family.

2nd Degree

I renounce the oaths taken and the curses involved in the second or Fellow Craft degree of Masonry, especially the curses on the heart and chest. I renounce the secret words JACHIN and SHIBBOLETH and all that these mean. I cut off emotional hardness, apathy, indifference, unbelief, and deep anger from my family and me. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray for the healing of the chest/lung/heart area and also for the healing of my emotions, and ask to be made sensitive to the Holy Spirit of God.

3rd Degree

I renounce the oaths taken and the curses involved in the third or Master Mason degree, especially the curses on the stomach and womb area. I renounce the secret words MAIIA BONE, MACHABE-N, MACHBINNA and TUBAL CAIN, and all that they mean. I renounce the Spirit of Death from the blows to the head enacted as ritual murder, the fear of death, false martyrdom, fear of violent gang attack, assault or rape; and the helplessness of this degree. I renounce the falling into the coffin or stretcher involved in the ritual of murder. I renounce the false resurrection of this degree, because only Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life! I also renounce the blasphemous kissing of the Bible on a Witchcraft oath. I cut off all spirits of death, witchcraft and deception and in the name of Jesus Christ I pray for the healing of the stomach, gall bladder, womb, liver and any other organs of my body affected by Masonry. I ask for a release of compassion and understanding for my family and me.

Holy Royal Arch Degree

I renounce and forsake the oaths taken and The curses involved in the Holy Royal Arch Degree of Masonry, especially the oath regarding the removal of the head from the body and the exposing of the brains to the hot sun. I renounce the Mark Lodge, and the mark in the form of squares and angles, which marks the person for life. I also reject the jewel or talisman that may have been made from this mark sign and worn at lodge meetings. I renounce the false secret name of God, JAHBULON, and the password, AMMI RUHAMAH and all they mean. I renounce the false communion or Eucharist taken in this degree, and all the mockery, skepticism and unbelief about the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. I cut off all these curses and their effects on my family and me in the name of Jesus Christ, and I pray for healing of the brain, the mind etc.

18th Degree

I renounce the oaths taken and the curses involved in the eighteenth degree of Masonry, the Most Wise Sovereign Knight of the Pelican and the Eagle and Sovereign Prince Rose Croix of Heredom. I renounce and reject the Pelican witchcraft spirit, as well as the occult influence of the Rosicrucians and the Kabbala in this degree. I renounce the claim that the death of Jesus Christ was a 'dire calamity', and also the deliberate mockery and twisting of the Christian doctrine of the Atonement. I renounce the blasphemy and rejection of the deity of Jesus Christ and the secret words IGNE NATURA RENOVATUR INTEGRA and its burning. I renounce the mockery of the communion taken in this degree, including a biscuit, salt and white wine.

30th Degree

I renounce the secret passwords, DEMOLAY-HIRAM ABIFF, FREDERICK OF PRUSSIA, MICHA, MACHA, BEALIM, and ADONAI and all they mean. I renounce all of the obligations of every Masonic degree, and all penalties invoked. I renounce and utterly forsake The Great Architect Of The Universe, who is revealed in the this degree as Lucifer, and his false claim to be the universal fatherhood of God. I renounce the cable-tow around the neck. I renounce the death wish that the wine drunk from a human skull should turn to poison and the skeleton whose cold arms are invited if the oath of this degree is violated. I renounce all other lodges and secret societies such as Prince Hall Freemasonry, Mormonism, The Order of Amaranth, Oddfellows, Buffaloes, Druids, Foresters, Orange, Elks, Moose and Eagles Lodges, the Ku Klux Klan, The Grange, the Woodmen of the World, Riders of the Red Robe, the Knights of Pythias, the Mystic Order of the Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, the women's Orders of the Eastern Star and of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the girls' order of the Daughters of the Eastern Star, the International Orders of Job's Daughters and of the Rainbow, the boys' Order of De Molay and their effects on me and all my family.

I renounce the ancient pagan teaching and symbolism of the First Tracing Board, the Second Tracing Board and the Third Tracing Board used in the ritual of the Blue Lodge. I renounce the pagan ritual of the 'Point within a Circle' with all its bondages and phallus worship. I renounce the occult mysticism of the black and white mosaic checkered floor with the tessellated boarder and five-pointed blazing star. I also renounce the false claim that Lucifer is the Morning Star and Shining One and I declare that Jesus Christ is the Bright and Morning Star of Revelation 22:16.

I renounce the All-Seeing Third Eye of Freemasonry or Horus in the forehead and its pagan and occult symbolism. I renounce all false communions taken, all mockery of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, all unbelief, confusion and depression and all worship of Lucifer as God. I renounce and forsake the lie of Freemasonry that man is not sinful, but merely imperfect and so can redeem himself through good works. I rejoice that the Bible states that I cannot do a single thing to earn my salvation, but that I can only be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary.

I renounce all fear of insanity, anguish, death wishes, suicide and death in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ conquered death, and He alone holds the keys of death and hell, and I rejoice that He holds my life in His hands now. He came to give me life abundantly and eternally, and I believe His promises.

I renounce all anger, hatred, murderous thoughts, revenge, retaliation, spiritual apathy, false religion, all unbelief, especially unbelief in the Holy Bible as God's Word, and all compromise of God's Word. I renounce all spiritual searching into false religions and all striving to please God, I rest in the knowledge that I have found my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and that He has found me.

I will burn all objects in my possession, which connect me with all lodges and or cultic organizations, including Masonry, Witchcraft and Mormonism and all regalia, aprons, books of rituals, rings and other jewelry. I renounce the effects of these or other objects of Masonry, such as the compass, the square, the noose or the blindfold, have had on me or my family, in Jesus Name

All participants should now be invited to sincerely carry out the following:

(1) Symbolically remove the blindfold (hoodwink) and give it to the Lord for disposal.

(2) In the same way, symbolically remove the veil of mourning.

(3) Symbolically cut and remove the noose from around the neck, gather it up with the cable-tow running down the body and give it all to the Lord for His disposal.

(4) Renounce the false Freemasonry marriage covenant, removing from the 4th finger of the right hand the ring of this false marriage covenant, giving it to the Lord to dispose of it.

(5) Symbolically remove the chains and bondages of Freemasonry from your body.

(6) Symbolically remove all Freemasonry regalia and armour, especially the Apron.

(7) Repent of and seek forgiveness for having walked on all unholy ground, including Freemasonry lodges and temples, including any Mormon or other occult/Masonic organizations.

(8) Symbolically remove the ball and chain from the ankles.

(9) Proclaim that "Satan and his demons no longer have any legal rights to mislead and manipulate me because I have repented and proclaim Jesus as my Lord, my Saviour and my only source of Truth."

I renounce every evil spirit associated with Masonry, Witchcraft and all other sins. I command in The name of Jesus Christ for Satan and every evil spirit to be bound and to leave me now, touching or harming no-one, and go to the place appointed for you by the Lord Jesus, never to return to me or my family. I call on the name of the Lord Jesus to be delivered of these spirits, in accordance with the many promises of the Bible. I ask to be delivered of every spirit of sickness. Infirmity, curse, affliction, addiction, disease or allergy associated with these sins I have confessed and renounced. I surrender to God's Holy Spirit and to no other spirit all the places in my life where these sins have been. I ask you, Lord, to baptize me in your Holy Spirit now according to the promises in your Word. I take to myself the whole armour of God in accordance with Ephesians Chapter Six and rejoice in its protection as Jesus surrounds me and fills me with His Holy Spirit. I enthrone you, Lord Jesus, in my heart, for you are my Lord and my Saviour, the source of eternal life. Thank you, Father God, for your mercy, your forgiveness and your love, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Yes but drugs is a bick complicated game. I think more money could be made in other ways. Let's assume there is a groups Masonic or other into a game sense of making money and moves in an unorthodox method. Now most people in Masonry are educated and interest in study of things (yes not all but majority). A smarter game is to influence things and your are on "X" end to recieve the payoff whatever it may be moves or money. This way you are not in it at all.

Take all the talk of the DEA if you have read on it. If we as America wanted to put a halt to drugs coming over the border could we? Could we in an non extreme way like not hiring another 20k agents etc. Some people think we can I tend to agree. However if the drugs come over say 8k a kilo of coke it gets broken down to be sold at 15k kilo and so on. Now if the DEA waits and watches until the money comes in. I am not sure if the government keeps the money as someone once said they burn it? Anyway my point is if you have the leg work in place and can just wait to the best apex to come in you are golden. You can apply this to war to stocks whatever. As romantic as it sounds it would be impossible to say it is true or not in any case. As you have people doing jobs or people to blame etc.

It is hard to find mid ground in this. As when researching we have two extremes total zealot skeptics and total conspiracy nuts. It is that midground where you find truth as in all things in life.

In fact, I have specific evidence of the activities of these people and the line between untouchable criminals, MI5 and the police is often blurred: Police and MI5 acting as criminals for the criminals, criminals doing "Favors" for the police.

This level of corruption runs through the justice system, lawyers, politicians and much of local government.

The links these untouchables have enabled them to commit murder, drug trafficking, and any other heinous crime you can think of with the collusion of masonic police officers, judges, politicians and lawyers.

Ever so often in the UK a "special" police unit is set up to tackle police corruption. These units are allowed to continue as long as they do not uncover the truth. If they ever do, then they are shut down very quickly.
Once such unit based in London was set up to expose pedophile rings trafficking children. Senior people within this covert operation were very close to exposing a network that served important people and was operated by untouchables. The specialist police unit was immediately disbanded.

Some of these "Untouchables" operate with complete impunity. They have access to some of the most advanced technology and resources including equipment which is normally only available to secret service and special forces.

The willingness or obligation from officials at all levels to assist these people comes from two directions. The Freemasonry oath to help "Brothers" before anything else; and the fact that once you cross the line and help these people, you then become their property. These "Untouchables" with the right connections can call on assistance from the very top. When orders come through, those carrying out the dirty work will often believe they are just doing their job. The level of corruption has now reached a stage that they are willing to expose themselves to the public in the belief that they are completely untouchable. The nurse involved wrote a report saying that Maureen was unstable and an unfit mother. The children were immediately taken in to care and very soon after adopted. Maureen has had independant reports stating that she is perfectly fit.

She decided to contact the nurse who made the report. However, the nurse was murdered before she could speak to her. An individual was convicted of the murder and sentenced. Maureen attempted to get a visiting pass to the prison in an attempt to find out if this person did murder the nurse and why. Before she could make the visit the prisoner was killed in prison. Maureen is receiving daily harrasment from Cheshire and Mersyside police organized through the untouchable masonic connections, she has also been the victim of corrupt judges and medical staff.

I can testify to this personally. I once had a black gang fight spontaneously errupt. Significantly I had just taken my girlfriend to watch the satanic Johny Depp movie Sweeny Todd. It was no coincidence that after all that graphic bloody violence something evil was in the air on the streets of Islington.

Funny thing is I could feel it coming, as soon as we left the cinema I had a sense of danger. We stopped on the way home in a nearby alleyway to roll a fag, then I got the feeling of danger again and I told my girlfriend we had to leave NOW, but she was too busy rolling a fag.

Suddenly from nowhere a whole gang of twenty black demon possessed youths rolled up and started squaring off and picked on one particular other black guy and started beating him up.

I suspect that I could have been killed in this piece of street theatre, but I refused to be scared I just stood there, one of the black gang members came past me and looked at me then looked at his mate and said 'he's safe' which means they weren't going to attack me....

I also was present when a couple of schizophrenics started fighting on a tube train. I knew there was something odd about it, they wanted to draw me into it so they could have attacked me but I totally ignored them.

My suspicions were confirmed that it was 'fake' street threat when afterwards one of the guys actually bowed and said 'I hope you enjoyed the show'.

The key is in these situations try to ignore it as much as possible and NEVER GET INVOLVED. They want to involve you then they can attack you. Keep walking never look back and don't be embarrassed to run for your life is you have to.

I wonder if some of the situations involving 'have a go heroes' who get killed are actually set-ups.

Ritual murder includes a wide variety of both sacred and secular acts committed by groups and individuals and is most often attributed to practitioners of occult ideologies such as Satanism, Palo Mayombe, Santeria, and other magical traditions, or to serial killers and sexual sadists who ritually murder their victims. Due to many legal, practical, and ethical controversies the study of contemporary religious violence is in its infancy. There have been no serious empirical studies of ritualistic crimes or classifications that adequately distinguish between ritual homicides committed for sacred versus secular motivations. In the law enforcement community, the investigation and analysis of ritual murder is viewed from a behavioral science perspective derived from methodologies in the fields of psychology, criminology, and forensic science. Problems arising from investigating ritualistic crimes are generally beyond most investigators’ typical experience. Due to the lack of standardized categories, law enforcement professionals cannot agree on the extent of ritualistic crime, the types of crimes committed by individuals and religious groups, or the motives of the perpetrators. Hence, ritual violence is not often recognized, reported, or investigated accurately. Furthermore, academic research on the subject of occult religions typically situates them within the discipline of new religious movements, which is fraught with controversy. Scholars hold vehement debates concerning the credibility of accusations of violence, the validity of research, and the degree of authority that government and law enforcement agencies should assert with respect to new religious movements.

This article is the result of my ongoing research into the phenomenology of image worship, contemporary blood rituals, and sacred violence. It reflects my continual endeavor to protect the religious freedoms of members of alternative religions while assisting law enforcement professionals in the investigation of ritualistic crimes.

To introduce the problem I will summarize occult religions and their magical theologies, and describe the types of ritual practices that are illegal and designated as occult crimes. This will be illustrated by examples from a variety of recent cases. The problem will be clarified by describing current methods of criminal profiling and showing how they are intrinsically flawed when applied to ritualistic crimes. I will argue that to understand the nature of contemporary acts of sacrifice it is necessary to suspend Western values, paradigms, and rational thought processes and examine sacrifice from the standpoint of the phenomenology of religious experience and the magical ideology of the practitioner.

Proposing a solution to the problem, I will introduce an alternative methodology that I have designated "Symbolic Analysis." The expression "Symbolic Analysis" was chosen because profiling is a highly charged word with negative connotations, but, more importantly, because this methodology concerns symbolism in every sense of the term, including those of semiotics, aesthetics, religion, anthropology, phenomenology, psychology, symbolic interaction, history, philosophy, and linguistics. I will contend that the broad interdisciplinary study of symbolism can provide unique insights into the subtle but significant differences in the characteristics of religious violence.

Finally, occult ideologies and ritualistic crime will be examined in the context of diverse theories of ritual murder to demonstrate that symbolic analysis is best understood as a "forensics of sacrifice," defined as pertaining to the legal proceedings or argumentation concerning ritual slaughter as a religious act.

Basically, the superintendent of my building (who had the keys to my unit by the way and could enter it at any time or let anyone else in for that matter) told me straight up that he was a Freemason, that he wanted me to become a Freemason, and that he was friends with the President of the University.

Sorry guys, I'm just not buying your narrative here. It looks like an open and shut case to me. An actor who had a history of drug addiction got a bad batch of heroin and died. You can read all kinds of symbolism into any actor who dies based on the projects they did. You're grasping at straws here. Just my opinion.

Jackson was not overtly political. He never donated to any political party or endorsed any candidates.7

He was an influential, high-profile figure and as such, was somewhat desirable to politicians who might have thought that being associated with Michael Jackson would score them points with voters. He was invited to the White House and recognized by every president from Reagen to George W. Bush.8

The morning of May 29, 1914, Andrews was seen cheerfully working on the lawn at the Archer house. By the following evening, he was dead.

PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE - The name “Plutarch” probably refers to the Greek biographer Plutarch who, though he was from a very wealthy family, valued morality above all else. This is similar to how Plutarch Heavensbee values Katniss’s character and morality. The name may also be referring to Plutarch of Eretria, who gained the trust of an Athenian statesman. During battle, Plutarch jeopardized Athens, and the statesman viewed this as treachery and forced Plutarch to leave Athens. Similarly, Plutarch Heavensbee jeopardized the Capitol even though he was Head Gamemaker, and he switched over to the rebels. The last name “Heavensbee” is probably compounded of heaven (because he brought Katniss salvation and helped her) and bee (an insect known for its hard work and diligence).

Character Analysis
Plutarch is the new Head Gamemaker for the Quarter Quell. It's ballsy to take up that position after the last guy was executed for permitting both Katniss and Peeta to live, but Plutarch doesn't seem to have a problem with it. And his arena is, if anything, even more lethal than the one from the previous Hunger Games. It's the Quarter Quell, after all – gotta kick things up a notch.

Plutarch's inventions are so brutal that later we're surprised to learn that he is on the side of the rebels, and has been all along. If he's trying to save the Quarter Quell tributes, why did he have to go to such lengths to make the arena so deadly? To preserve his status in the Capitol and keep his cover intact?

But Katniss would have realized that there was more to Plutarch than met the eye if she'd known to look for the signs. When she met with Plutarch at a grand event on the Victory Tour, he gave her a hint, which she begins to decipher once she's begun to understand the arena itself:

I see a clock. No, it's a watch, resting in Plutarch Heavensbee's palm. 'It starts at midnight,' Plutarch said. And then my mockingjay lit up briefly and vanished. In retrospect, it's like he was giving me a clue about the arena. But why would he?" (23.9)

The last thing to remember about Plutarch is how savvy he is. He's the Head Gamemaker after all, which means he's a strategy beast who can outthink and outplan the best of them. He understands media and popular culture, based on his analysis of Katniss as the face and embodiment of the revolution. In our opinion, the revolution is lucky to have him.

New York (CNN) -- The day before he was found dead in a Manhattan apartment, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman went to his favorite coffee shop for a four-shot espresso.

That night, he met two others for dinner at a West Village restaurant.

Nothing appeared out of the ordinary -- either that morning or that night.

But some of those who interacted with Hoffman during the day Saturday paint a different picture.

The mother of his children said he appeared high. A passerby who stopped to say hi to him said the actor appeared "out of it."

In New York's Greenwich Village neighborhood, where Hoffman lived, it was common to see him riding a bicycle and walking his children to the public school they attended.

Now, police are trying to piece together the actor's movements last weekend as they look for anyone who might be linked to the drugs that apparently killed him.
Here's a timeline of what has emerged about Hoffman's final hours before the discovery of his body Sunday.

Saturday morning -- Hoffman stops in at Chocolate Bar on 8th Avenue for his regular order: a four-shot espresso over ice with a splash of milk. He is alone and chats with members of staff. "He seemed perfectly fine," manager Jonathan Hanson tells CNN. "He seemed in good spirits. He was very happy."

Around 1:30 p.m. -- Hoffman's assistant speaks to him on the phone. She also thought he seemed fine, she tells police. The assistant says she had visited him at his rented apartment Friday and noticed nothing out of the ordinary then, either.
2 p.m. -- The first hint that something is amiss. Mimi O'Donnell, Hoffman's ex-partner and mother of their three children, sees him near his apartment. She later tells authorities she thought he appeared to be high, law enforcement sources say.

5 p.m. -- Hoffman is spotted walking along Greenwich Street by Paul Pabst, executive producer of the syndicated "Dan Patrick Show." Pabst is with his wife and his sister, who plucks up the courage to say hi to Hoffman. The actor -- bundled up in "a big, puffy coat" -- appears surprised a stranger recognized him, Pabst says on his show. But he still responds, giving Pabst's sister "a half high-five" before continuing on his way. Pabst says his sister remarks that Hoffman seemed "out of it."

Saturday evening -- Hoffman has dinner with two companions at Automatic Slims, a restaurant and bar in the West Village that he frequently visited. It is a short meal, at which Hoffman has a cheeseburger and drinks a cranberry and soda. A bartender at the restaurant, on Washington Street, tells CNN it appeared to be a business dinner.
Around 8 p.m. -- O'Donnell talks to Hoffman on the phone. He again seems to be high, she later tells authorities. After their conversation, no other contact with Hoffman has so far been confirmed.

Between 8 and 9 p.m. -- Hoffman withdraws a total of $1,200 from an automated teller machine in six transactions at a supermarket near his West Village home, two law enforcement sources say, citing bank records. A witness told investigators that he saw Hoffman withdrawing money around 8 p.m. at the supermarket while talking to two men who were wearing messenger bags, the officials said.

Sunday, 9 a.m. -- Hoffman fails to show up at O'Donnell's home in the West Village to pick up his three children. His no-show causes concern.

11 a.m. -- O'Donnell asks a Hoffman friend, playwright David Katz, to check on the actor. Katz and another person subsequently go to the fourth-floor apartment, where they find him dead, lying on the bathroom floor with a syringe in his left arm. He is wearing shorts and a T-shirt, his eyeglasses still resting on his head, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the inquiry.

Around 11:30 a.m. -- Police are called. They arrive at the apartment shortly afterward. O'Donnell is told what has happened. She quickly picks up their son from the playground and brings him home.

The aftermath -- Investigators discover close to 50 envelopes of what they believe is heroin in the apartment where Hoffman is found, the law enforcement sources say. They find used syringes, prescription drugs and empty bags that authorities suspect are used to hold heroin, the sources tell CNN.

After the discovery of Hoffman's body, word of his death spreads through the neighborhood. Friends bring flowers and cards in remembrance. The Oscar-winning actor was 46.

Back in 2009 when Michael Jackson died, suspicion immediately turned to his physician Dr. Conrad Murray, who is now on trial for manslaughter in the death of the pop star.

At the time, a photo was released of Murray dressed in a Masonic officer's collar, and his attorney released a statement in order to bolster his sinking character, saying Murray had joined "the Freemasonry" [sic] in 2006. Almost immediately, Freemasons in California and Murray's state of residence, Nevada, could find no record of his membership.

Back in 2010, Jackson's father Joe and his sister LaToya accused Dr. Murray of being a tool of a Masonic cabal that runs the music industry. Apparently, they have been taken in by the Masonic references by acts like Lady Gaga and Jay-Z who have been using symbolism of the fraternity in their album artwork, videos and stage shows, as "proof" of a larger Masonic conspiracy.

Dr. Conrad Murray was actually a member of the "United Most Worshipful Scottish Grand Lodge of Texas", an irregular, unrecognized bogus group in the Houston area, that has absolutely nothing to do with the Grand Lodge of Texas AF&AM, the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas F&AM, or any other regular, recognized form of Freemasonry. Within three years of joining, Murray was made a grand lodge officer, with the rank of Grand Medical Director, which is the title that appears on his officer's collar in the photo. The United MW Scottish Rite Grand Lodge of Texas is on the list of bogus grand lodges identified by the Phylaxis Society. Their "cabal" extends to the city limits of Houston. But such details generally elude most non-Masons.

One wonders what goes on at their meetings that would require a grand medical officer.

As you can tell from the Phylaxis Society's list of bogus grand lodges, the African-American community has been especially pestered by charlatans who stick a square and compasses on their lapel, buy some aprons, download a ritual, and declare themselves to be a "grand lodge" without any authority whatsoever. The somewhat arcane internal struggles we have involving issues of recognition and regularity undoubtedly seem quaint, silly or puzzling to non-Masons.

Dr. Murray belongs to a self-declared grand lodge in Houston that has no recognition or authority whatsoever outside of its own lodge room. In Texas, only lodges chartered by the mainstream and predominantly white Grand Lodge of Texas AF&AM or the predominantly black Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas are recognized as regular by the overwhelming world of Freemasonry.

The problem is that "Freemason" and "Order of the Eastern Star" are not copyrighted terms, and so bogus groups are not prohibited by law from co-opting them.

The black community has been especially plagued by these irregular Masonic groups. In some states like California, Ohio and Illinois, there are dozens and even hundreds of such fraudulent organizations that sound completely legitimate, or at least suitably ostentatious. Some were formed because of internal squabbles and schisms. Others exist solely to separate the gullible from their cash. And still others (Prince Hall Origination) date back more than 150 years to a brief experiment with a national governing organization that was quickly discarded by most Prince Hall lodges.

In any case, Dr. Murray's allegedly questionable medical activities were not motivated, controlled, or otherwise ordered by a Masonic Plot.™

At the final banquet for the Victory Tour, Plutarch asks Katniss to dance. In an attempt to earn her trust, he shows her his elaborate watch which flashes with a Gold Mockingjay. The Mockingjay had come to represent both Katniss and the Rebellion, but these are things she does not yet realize. Plutarch was actually intending on giving Katniss a hint about the Arena.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died suddenly today at the age of 46, was due to direct Prohibition-era drama Ezekiel Moss later this year. I understand he had been actively involved with the project for well over a year, developing it with Keith Bunin, author of the 2011 Black List script.

On Friday, it was announced that Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal had boarded the hot project which follows a widow whose life is forever changed by a mysterious drifter with the divine ability to channel and physically inhabit the spirits of the dead.

A Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and Mandalay Vision’s Cathy Schulman are producers with PalmStar Media Capital’s Kevin Frakes and Merced Media Partners’ Raj Brinder Singh. In the wake of today’s sad news, they will now assess possible next steps. Exclusive Media was due to kick off pre-sales at next week’s EFM, but Hoffman’s untimely death has put those plans on hold. Here’s a statement from Exclusive:

Exclusive Media is deeply saddened to learn the shocking news of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s passing. He was a truly gifted actor and director who not only inspired his fellow colleagues, but audiences around the world and he will be greatly missed. We give our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. As such, Exclusive Media will not be presenting Ezekiel Moss to international buyers at EFM at this time while producers explore the next steps for the film.

The "Ezekiel Moss" project just got destroyed by Phil's passing.

The long-gestating project will be directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Prohibition Era drama Ezekiel Moss is finally moving forward, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams coming aboard to star.

Philip Seymour Hoffman has long been attached to direct the film from a Black List script by Keith Bunin.

Exclusive Media has come aboard to handle international rights, and will launch the project to foreign buyers at Berlin's upcoming European Film Market.

Adams will play Iris, who, emotionally fragile after the loss of her husband, runs a boarding house to get by and provide for her spirited son, Joel. They reside in a small town overrun by religious fervor, and their lives are forever changed when she begins to fall in love with Ezekiel Moss (Gyllenhaal), a mysterious drifter who has the divine ability to channel and physically inhabit the spirits of the dead.

Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman, PalmStar Media Capital's Kevin Frakes, Merced Media Partners’ Raj Brinder Singh and Cathy Schulman of Mandalay Vision are producing. Singh recently collaborated with Exclusive Media on Rush, on which he served as co-executive producer.

Adams, who is represented by WME, is up for the Oscar for best actress for her role in American Hustle.

Gyllenhaal was last seen in Prisoners. He is also repped by WME.

Los Angeles: After her Oscar nominated performance in `The American Hustle`, actress Amy Adams is joining Jake Gyllenhaal for `Ezekiel Moss`.

The film is being directed by Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and is based on Keith Bunin`s script, which featured in 2011 Black List.

The film is headed to Berlin film market, reported Variety.

The film`s story is about a widow, played by Adams, who supports her son by running a boarding house in a small town overrun by religious fervor.

Her life changes when she falls in love with Ezekiel Moss (Gyllenhaal), a mysterious drifter who can physically inhabit the spirits of the dead.

The script was featured on the 2011 Black List.

It is Hoffman`s second directing gig after `Jack Goes Boating`.

Chaz Ebert, the widow of famed film critic Roger Ebert, says her husband wanted Philip Seymour Hoffman to play him if a narrative feature on his life ever materialized.

The subject came up during a New York City screening Monday of Life Itself, the new documentary chronicling the late movie critic's career.

Chaz Ebert took part in a post-screening Q&A, and during the conversation she took a moment to address the sudden loss of the Oscar-winning actor Sunday.
