It seems that nothing we were taught in school is true !
We were all taught a pack of lies. I'd like to start with the "Columbus Day" official holiday in the States. Columbus never even made it to mainland U.S. much less 'discover it'
I'm providing just a few examples of everything we thought we knew is wrong !

The lies they shove down our throats is vile and destructive.

Public school system perpetuates lies and condones violence.

October 12th should be a day of mourning.

Thank you Yiolas for sharring truth that will actualy help people to grow

and..

To help us to NEVER repeat the same thing again.

These videos should go viral ..

I've never quite understood why we celebrate a man who bumped into the Caribbean Islands, thought it was India, realized it wasn't, and then proceeded to murder all the islanders - in the Holy name of God.

My best guess is that our continuation of the "Columbus" myth may have roots in the ancient worship of the goddess Columbia; who seems to be prevalent in much of today's corporate, religious, and political symbology. The names "Columbus" and "Colombia" being quite similar.

I know the history but Ward Churchill is someone I can't stand to watch.

Erm its opposite as to what "established" info is ... so its true.

ummm... okayyy, I guess I was running on the premise of "if I have a foot which is opposite my right foot- that makes it my LEFT foot - not my wrong foot"...

here is my line of thought... the very first reference to the right version of Columbus that I hear about comes from the advertisement of the new movie Skyline...

then I view a couple of videos posted on this forum... and *vio'la* the new truth...
maybe my paranoia is running wild???

and i agree that a whole lot of s**t has been crammed into our brains masquarading as the truth... but pleez i wuld steal lyke to kNOw the source ???

I can't attest to the source, however, here's my one paragraph take on history.

Columbus sailed to the Carribeans which he misidentified as the new world. While the Vikings were here first, that doesn't matter in terms of impact on the indigenous population. It was Columbus's claim that brought more Spaniards, specifically, conquistadors, who proceeded to destroy the indigenous cultures (with help of other indigenous peoples). Competition with Spain led other foreign powers like the Dutch (New Orange or modernly, New York), the French (Louisbourg, Quebec, Louisana) and the English (starting with Jamestown and then New England) to he new world. The Red Man has had the short end of the stick since then.
