View Full Version : What type of craft is this?

I watched this craft over head back in 20013 (Edit 2013 not 20013)
It was following a civil aircraft Boeing 737 at about 1500-2000, the plane was on approach to Heathrow Airport, the Wing-Craft was just below and behind. I watched them both for a few seconds until the wing just pivoted on it's wing tip and wen't off back in the direction it had come from?

It was one of those' it seemed to realized I was watching moment' which made it turn!

It's design was all wrong? IE, normally the slightly pointed edge is the leading edge, but not this Wing-Craft and as I typed into the image all other details of the sighting!
It seemed to fly like it was weightless!

Anyone any ideas?

New stealth tech? Or UFO?

Yeah it a UFO for sure because I couldn't name it! It was very stealthy and odd design?
What benefit could it have with such a design?
I think it was weightless because of it's turning style which would probably over ride any very bad flight characteristics of such a design?

Forward swept wings (if functional) do provide a far greater degree of maneuverability, but that also comes with extreme engineering challenges. The challenges are so great that to this date extremely few forward swept wing craft are built. However, the lesser the degree of the sweep - the more stable it will be, this seems to respect that outcome in its design.

This shape makes sense from many aspects of its extremely simple design. The shape though, to me, suggests terrestrial. My 2 cents.

This shape has really got my mind thinking ... interesting, and thanks for the post.

Thanks DeDukshyn and yup I was thinking the same 'Man-made'

One thing that sticks in my mind is the way it just turned ! so strange

One question I have is just what was it doing? so near too and stalking this 737 across part of south London ?

Can you estimate the speed? I am going to guess this craft wasn't all that fast? (compared to say a fighter jet or "flying saucer")

Not fast, about 400 knots or so, it was following behind a 737 Airliner, and I mean right behind.
The turn was fast though, about 3 seconds! ( EDIT (On reflection it only took about 1 second to turn on it's wing tip and go other way))

sounds like a chemtrail drone being tested ...

My two cents: It may be in a class I like to call "toy-like critters" (and as opposed to "energetic critters"). So it would be a shape-shifter too. Anyway my two cents. I have only begun to attempt to organize and characterize UFO obs.

Hmm? interesting, would that account in any way it's strange flight path right behind and below the 737?
Chemtrail Drone! things just get madder and madder :(

Very, very interesting! As I said I did get a feeling it somehow knew I had caught it doing something wrong! and so it skulked off!
I hope it wasn't going to do something really bad!

Again thanks for the input all!

Yup Johnny sorry I made a joke bout it after your reply but you are right I still need to edit first post, on it know.
Plus I've been thinking about the crafts turning time taken, it was more like 1 second to turn not 3.

Don't be sorry Sunny-side-up, I thought your answer was very funny :)

There are several "Flying Wing" plane designs, all experimental of course. I saw a passenger concept on a TV documentary years ago that looks like your drawing (large as a Boeing 737) that flew forward by a wingtip and appeared to be on an angle.
Here is a different NASA concept...
