Today i lost my best friend and brother. He was a dog but to me he was no different than a human. unfortunately although I loved him dearly i never appreciated his presence until it was too late.
I know its cliche but please take a moment and think about your loved ones. we often forget about the things that matter to us most until its too late.
Im not looking for sympathy but rather a friendly reminder that to cherish those things that can never come back.

I share your sadness, pumashared, please know it's never too late to tell him what you want to say. I still talk with my Great Dane dog and good friend, Zulu, that passed away more than ten years ago and we share energetics as we did in those heady days.
Thanks for the 'cliche' and the friendly reminder, I cherish such reminders, and my cats now do too :)

Hey pumashared.. I made a call home to Sweden today.. to the lady's house where I left my two cats to.. after a week full on with dreams of them contacting me.. it was very sad news that she had for me.. both have died.. my old Pixie just packed up... and went to sleep after a month of my leaving.. Molly, the fair, got hit by a car the same week.. and my guilt for leaving them and not serving them up until the end is enormous :( I don't know but love in whatever shape or form under incarnation is no doubt painful. But yes I hear you.. sometimes I use my heart as an implosion devise and in that flow all is healed or connecting..
Keep him close and let that neglecting or not fully present be what it is for us all.. a vice of incarnation.. there's a deeper current that is flowing that makes it all come heartfelt if you allow it to. I feel with you tonight friend x

pumashared- I am very sorry for your loss, and I send warm, healing energies in your direction. Please remember, that your beloved four legged friend has only transitioned, into a painless dimension, and there is no such thing as death. The love of your companion will remain at your heart, eternally, and your love will remain in his spirit forever.

Sorry to hear for your loss. Our schnauzer is part of the family and we all love her to pieces. I see her as one of my children. We got a dog in part to demonstrate to my tweener son that "animals" are intelligent, have personalities, can be funny, demonstrate feelings and feel/give love. That they are beings to be respected. Since then, his perspective has been broadened greatly by her presence in our family. I didn't know it at the time but she broadened my perspective too, but in different ways. The profound love and devotion she shows to me is an honor that I have never felt before with other dogs. Maybe she is "special" but I think she was waiting for us, until we finally decided to take that step and add a "dog" to the family.
I think Limor is right in the fact that you can still talk to your dog anytime and he will hear you.

I am sorry for your loss, and I understand how that feels. I assure you that he knows how you felt and how you are missing him now. You don't have to ask for sympathy...I offer it to you. I have lost friends through my life who were animals to others, but dear companions and friends to me. They know...and when they cross over they know the rest...how imperfect we are as humans and how dearly we love them. Just try to remember that he loved (s) you because you are you, not because you are perfect. Hugs...they usually come back to visit after they do some healing, so it's not really goodbye. It's more of a "see you in a bit when it's the right time". Hugs.

A sad loss for you ps, moments like these snap you back to the clarity of now after being lost in the machinations of life, it is like we get brainwashed and just go with the flow
I shall pause a moment tonight and think about this and pay thanks for what we are, have etc
