View Full Version : Scientific Approach to Reincarnation and the (Journey of Souls After “Death”)

Science and spirituality have split the public`s opinions on the matter of reincarnation The two sides are evident; science proponents believe biological death to be the absolute end of our human experience, whereas spiritualists believe that our bodies are physical vessels for an eternal energetic aspect of our consciousness called the soul, which implants itself into a new body after the previous body has died.

Many popular religions, such as Christianity and Catholicism, also refute the idea of reincarnation because it contradicts the belief systems within the theologies which state that there is a place where sinners go after death called “Hell” and a place where the devoted go called “Heaven”.

It becoming knowledge that the major religions were used as a control mechanism to manipulate the masses through the use of fear.

It wasn’t until around the 17th century when science began to influence people’s belief systems due to the continued development of the scientific method and advancements with the laws of nature. This system challenged any truth that had no physical proof, and so began science’s dominance in human society.

The scientific systems that were established provided many innovations and advancements for the human race, but there were still many questions that could not be answered by the scientific community such as various paranormal phenomena and other impossible ‘miracles’ in nature.

The 20th century ignited a new wave of science that dealt with the exploration of consciousness, psychedelics, and paranormal psychology that collectively aimed to connect the spiritual and scientific communities.

Instances of near death and out-of-body experiences during which people were consciously aware, after being declared clinically dead, began to test the hard facts that science had previously established. Today these cases are still widely reported and there are remarkable similarities between the reports all over the world.

Dr. Pim van Lommel, a cardiologist in the Netherlands, conducted the largest hospital-based study of NDEs (Near Death Experiences), years after hearing a patient report seeing a tunnel, a light, and beautiful colors and hearing wonderful music during a clinical death in 1969.

Dr. Lommel was inspired to research the matter further after hearing a detailed near death experience of someone who had been clinically dead for six minutes.

“After reading [this] book I started to interview my patients who had survived a cardiac arrest. To my great surprise, within two years about fifty patients told me about their NDE... So, in 1988 we started a prospective study of 344 consecutive survivors of cardiac arrest in ten Dutch hospitals:

62 patients (18%) reported some recollection of the time of clinical death... About 50% of the patients with an NDE reported awareness of being dead, or had positive emotions, 30% reported moving through a tunnel, had an observation of a celestial landscape, or had a meeting with deceased relatives.

About 25% of the patients with an NDE had an out-of-body experience, had communication with ‘the light’ or observed colours, 13% experienced a life review, and 8% experienced a border...

Patients with a NDE did not show any fear of death, they strongly believed in an afterlife, and their insight in what is important in life had changed: love and compassion for oneself, for others, and for nature.

They now understood the cosmic law that everything one does to others will ultimately be returned to oneself: hatred and violence as well as love and compassion. Remarkably, there was often evidence of increased intuitive feelings.” -- David Wilcock’s ‘The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You’
Evidence of life after death continued to rise with the ground-breaking addition of work from hypnotherapists such as Dolores Cannon, Dr. Ian Stevenson and Dr. Michael Newton.

With over 50 years of client-session information documenting people’s subconscious memories of past lives and even memories of the time in between two lives, something has to be said about evidence from the doctor’s research supporting reincarnation.

Dr. Newton explains that people under hypnosis are not dreaming or hallucinating — and in this state they are not capable of lying. They report whatever they see and hear in their subconscious minds as if everything is a literal observation.

While under hypnosis, it is possible for them to misinterpret something they are seeing, but they will not report on anything they do not feel to be the literal truth.

“I also found that it did not matter if a person was an atheist, deeply religious, or believed in any philosophical persuasion in between — once they were in the proper superconscious state of hypnosis, all were consistent in their reports...”

Dr. Newton in David Wilcock’s ‘The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You’.

Dr. Michael Newton discussing how past-life regression became a part of his practice:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk3s40UnoDE&feature=player_embedded
Interestingly, Dr. Newton also reported that many clients were hesitant to reveal too much about their time between lives, almost as if they were following a universal code of ethics of sorts, where the information was not supposed to be revealed to mankind for a reason.

Over the years Dr. Newton noted similarities among client’s descriptions, ultimately putting together a picture of the process that our soul goes through from the moment we ‘die’ to the moment we are ‘reborn’. These are the stages that he described:

1. Death and departure

Most clients recall looking down at their body and seeing people mourning over their death. Some people reported staying around their loved ones until after their funeral. During this time clients could feel a pull towards a light, and described a tunnel of sorts to get there.

2. Gateway to the spirit world

This is the stage where clients report moving through the tunnel and reaching the light at the end. Location of the tunnel varies, as some say it appears right above their bodies and others say they have to travel above the Earth to reach it. After reaching the end of the tunnel clients almost always describe in varying ways beautiful visions, music, and scenery.

Dr. Newton suggests that these images are beloved memories from our lives, to help give a feeling of familiarity during such an overwhelming process. Younger souls may feel sad or confused during this time, and it’s reported that their guides will come to assist and comfort.

3. Homecoming

Here we are greeted by souls who are close to us. They appear as luminous beings who sometimes project faces of people who are still ‘alive’ in a physicality because our souls only project a certain percentage of itself into the physical body, so there will always be a part of the soul existing in the spirit realm.

During this stage the soul begins to remember more about the afterlife and also their previous lives, feeling more at ease with the process. Souls which have committed murder or suicide will analyze their actions with their guide and decide on an appropriate path to begin almost immediately.

4. Orientation

During the orientation stage a soul will shed any regret / doubt / sadness / traumatic memories from its previous life by going through what clients describe as a ‘shower of light’. This renews the soul’s vibrancy and restores it to its original vibration.

Afterwards, we discuss with our guide everything that has happened in our life and decide whether or not we lived up to our expectations about how we dealt with those incidents and if the lessons need to be repeated in the next life.

5. Transition

After we have completed our light shower and have worked through our previous life, we then move onto what most describe as the most breathtaking visions of the entire journey. Here we see a mega-hub of souls at the same stage, all moving through beautiful tunnels of light to their destination.

Clients describe this moment as exciting because there is no darkness, just pure light, and we are also on our way to meet up with our soul family, souls who are at a similar stage in their evolution and who we shared lives with.

Once we meet up with these souls, we usually compare experiences and learn from each other. These are souls that we keep reincarnating with over and over again, playing various roles with each other such as partners, brothers/sisters, parents, children, etc.

Sometimes souls will be present but dimmer and quieter than others, and that is because they are still projecting a physicality at that moment. Another crucial aspect of this stage is to meet a grand counsel that oversees our previous life, going into more detail about the experiences and lessons learned.

6. Placement

This stage is almost like a school where larger groups of soul families (up to thousands) who incarnate around each other in cycles learn about their previous experiences. Here clients report projecting into specific scenes from their previous life and into other people’s minds to gain a full understanding of the larger picture.

Here we feel what others felt to learn how we hurt people in certain situations. This stage can also see the larger soul groups connecting in circles, sharing more ideas, singing, and experiencing other joyful events.

7. Life selection

During this stage we move to a large sphere of light where we then choose our next life path. We are able to see multiple paths and are able to temporarily project into these lives to feel which one would be most appropriate. We also have the ability to fast forward through the timelines to see critical events that will happen. Some souls will choose greater challenges to experience such as a disability or premature death.

8. Choosing a new body

This process is a part of the previous life selection stage, but has a separate categorization because it focuses on the physical appearance that we will possess in the next life. This choice vastly affects our experience, so it usually takes much thought as to what it will be. If you were obese in one life, chances are you will choose to be skinny the next, etc.

9. Preparation and embarkation

After choosing our life path, next we meet up with our soul group, the people who will play roles in the next life, to do extensive planning and to create synchronicities and cues that will guide us throughout our life. Higher-level guides also help to plan out specific symbols we will see or hear that will trigger certain thoughts and actions at specific times.

After the synchronicities are decided, we once again meet with a counsel to go over our goals and plans for the next life. This meeting is also to encourage us to have patience, to hold true to our values, to trust ourselves in the midst of difficult situations, and to avoid indulging in anger and negativity.

10. Rebirth

Clients report traveling back to Earth through the same tunnel they left in, entering the mother’s womb. Until the age of 5, the soul is able to leave the baby’s body to travel and meet up with other souls if it wishes, but will snap back to the body if the baby is in any turmoil. During the first few years the soul will work to integrate its energy with the brain.

This outline of our experience between lives is based on decades worth of research, and like Dr. Newton and other hypnotherapists state, clients under such hypnotic states will never lie and will only describe what they are actually seeing.

How is it that almost everyone who undergoes hypnotherapy or who have NDE or OOB experiences, regardless of whatever religious or cultural background they come from, report such similar experiences? Could it be merely coincidental? How is it that people recall these kinds of experiences after being declared clinically dead?

These are the sorts of questions that can only be answered by the assimilation of science and spirituality. In the years to come we will witness more of this conjunction between two seemingly unrelated spectrums, which will ultimately bring us closer to an understanding of life, death, and consciousness like never understood before.

Really like this thread jackovesk, its something I think about a lot.

I often wonder how long it is between death and reincarnation? ...when loved ones visit us in spirit, will it end when they are eventually reincarnated?
Or do we still visit and watch over our 'past-life's' loved ones with the spirit of our base soul that remains in the ether, while our projecting soul inhabits our new body?

Is the reason some people end up so empty and soul-less maybe due to the fact that their soul didn't integrate as it should for some reason with their mind in early childhood years, as mentioned in point 10, rebirth.

Its question's I've often thought about.

(I also really like the thought of coming back skinny next time...im going to hide all those jeans i never quite got into this time round in a trunk somewhere for next time round!)

What about the idea of the tunnel of light being a memory wipe that scrubs our minds clean and sends back here, is there any merit in that?

Yes, many things to ponder...:yes4:

There is definitely more to this depiction than what NDE's are telling us...:yes4:

So far, we only hear about NDE experiencers talking about being attracted to the immensely powerful "White Light' yet I haven't heard one NDE experiencer talking about what happens when you turn your back on the "Light' and walk in the opposite direction yelling out (I Want To Go Back To SOURCE).

No we don't here to much about that unfortunately...

I don't want to reincarnate back here on earth...:nono:

I want to go (HOME)...:wizard:

i just rushed toward the light and then ended up standing in it -- orange light. I think I got a choice after i decided not to go because the next night I got a tunnel at the end of which was a house - so i believe a reincarnation scenario. At the time, I knew nothing about tunnels, lights etc and tried reading the New Testament to find out if there was anything about it there. That's when i realized the New Testament must have been heavily edited. Then someone told me about astral travelling which I tried but didn't go far -- only to the living room but I did see my grandfather there, laughing at me. He was in a bubble. Later on I learned that departed souls are often seen in bubbles. Interesting experiences in so far that others have similar ones. After that i developed allergies -- and then learned that this is a common result -- from exposure to that light, i understand.

I've been "told" by a Light that there is reincarnation for some of us, but not all. . .I THINK the implication was that if one would benefit from it & agree to reentering a body, one could do so. There are apparently those who find 3D life too stressful and opt out of it as a learning experience.

I find myself hoping that those who present the Light as a Trap are wrong. . .

That's the inherent problem, most do...:yes4:

99% of the departed that "Walk into the Light" and reincarnate back on earth without (Any Memory Whatsoever of their Past-Life/s), so in essence therein lies the PROBLEM...:yes4:

If our Souls live forever and are immortal most come back to earth 3D, then Why? are their memories 'WIPED'...

PS - And that means we not only have to be on our toes when we are alive from earthly & dimensional influences, we also have to be on our toes when we Passover...:faint:

PSS - Unless through meditation &/or contact with the Source to pre-prepare or guide our destination before we leave..?

Perhaps we need our memories wiped because it would make it "easier" for us to know/remember why one was undergoing various unpleasantnesses this time round; also to start from a clean state, without the guilt carried over? I don't think I could bear it if I remembered something awful that I had done in a past life, such as murdering others; but it would make any present day suffering seem easier to bear, which is probably not the idea?

As a psychic who has talked to people who passed over, I have sometimes gone to where they were living in the afterlife. It is very often a house with a garden. Some of them decide to tend to the garden. Some prefer to keep up with the same activities they had on earth, like women who go to women's clubs and chatter non stop. They keep doing that on the other side. Some of them.

It is also normal that your beloved dogs, cats etc, are there. At least some of the time.

What about the idea of the tunnel of light being a memory wipe that scrubs our minds clean and sends back here, is there any merit in that?

No. A tunnel is like a super fast upward movement (in my case I remember ending up in space, going "that was fun!")

We remember who we are. A bit like being in bed and not thinking about our body. We are us, 100 %.

The key is to try to calm down, when we die - or after we die - and feel the love, remember the love. Remember people we love, animals, that sort of thing. This is the emotion that lets you see your loved ones, and the "light" that you go into, and/or the angelic looking guide who is waiting for you. You will then be helped all the way with a deep love and much to look forward to.

I know spirits who decided that even though they were now invisible, they wanted to go to University and study the things they couldn't study in the past. Also; you can go anywhere on earth, pretty much. Lounge in Hawaii. But invisible.

We are pretty much eternal. All of us. And our soul is much bigger (and smarter) than just this little human part of us. I do wonder if we cherry pick which parts of us we want to incarnate with. I suspect we do. After we leave our body (pass over) we suddenly find all the other parts, too. Or rather, - gradually realize we are more parts and that we are pretty darn smart and awesome. As our whole self.

Some say we are becoming that in the coming years. I don't mean that 5D business which is not physically possible. No, I mean: download the whole soul into the body, and become so effing awesome. And it will be like we all became... I don't know.. Gandalfs. Or in a way, a little bit Xmen. That is the "frequency" thing. Earth has changed it's frequency (and others are trying to bombard us with negative frequency) but once we get rid of all the negative debris in our noggins (heads/hearts) the soul will download a lot more. Life will get better. And some claim we will be able to be healers and move stuff by the power of thought etc. I don't know but it would be nice.

The vast majority I've talked to who have passed over are Christian and are still Christian even though they have passed over. They say that there is no such thing as Reincarnation but it's understood that we take with us our belief system to the other side.
I communicate to those who have passed over to the other side either by EVP or clairaudiently.
Here's an audio clip of my deceased dad saying via EVP that "There's no such thing as reincarnation, Linda" (linda is my real name) after I asked him if reincarnation was real or not. I play that EVP 4 x's in this video. But my dad was a devout Catholic and even though he passed over, he still is following the Catholic belief system. Catholics, as we know, do not believe in reincarnation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYXnLp4GM40

But one close friend of mine who passed over 2 or 3 yrs ago though told me after he died that there is such a thing as reincarnation but it's different than what the Buddhists believe, for example. I have that EVP where he's saying that too and will upload it to youtube and post it here later.

We don't have to re-incarnate. It is free will.

I prefer not to use the 3D or 5D terms because I see them as wrong. We are able to shift and become a lot more, yes, but there is no alphabet soup and no "ascension". We are earth beings.

The light is positive. If the light looks "sick" it is negative. You will feel it, instinctively. But when you die, the good guardian that is with you will be there and loved ones will be there - and I do mean: the ones we love. We won't have to face great aunt Annie if we never liked her.

Earth is changing. The negative people who are dying now, will not be allowed back on earth. Ever. That cycle is ending. Spirit told me, and that's just from me, so no guarantees, that the very worst of humans on this planet will start dying off in just a few years. I hope that is true. High time. They will pass naturally.

You can also opt out entirely and cease to exist. If you are sure. After you die you will be asked and if you are sure, you will be snuffed out and never come back.

A few last comments. Yes, re-incarnation is real. We are all old souls. We forget the past because we need to forget. It is important. So it becomes part of the process of becoming a baby. Some exceptions remember who they were and remain partly adult. They go around talking about who they used to be, where they used to live.

I just noticed the post by Roisin. Hi :) We are apparently both psychic.

Yes, faith has a lot to do with how it looks and feels on the other side. When I encounter people who passed over, I see them as their loved ones remember them. Smoking a pipe. Hair cut a specific way. Or rasta weave. All kinds of stuff. Their bigger soul is much more than that, though. I normally don't talk to that part.

I do know, though, from my own experience in going back into the past, that we have many, many lives. But that part is remembered by the bigger soul. Or "higher" soul, if you will.

All the best.

I decided to repost here, because what I wrote is so appropriate for this thread:

Reincarnation versus Connection
My only real answer is "I don't know." So, as I write this alternative concept, please understand that I am not saying I don't believe in reincarnation. It's just that I see people making the absolute statement as fact that reincarnation exists, because they have an experience of remembering a past life, when another explanation IS possible.

When a hypothesis is made, all the variables need to be considered. Sometimes people can't see a variable because it simply does not occur to them. So, I am offering a variable on the hypothesis that when one remembers a past life, it is necessarily their past life.

This takes several steps, so bear with me.

Did you know that the sound of middle C on the piano keyboard is exactly 271 times slower than the vibration of a human body? All by itself, this discovery is mind blowing. It means that the mass of the body and the wave of the sound is the SAME energy, just vibrating at different speeds.

The next step is more in the realm of philosophy and spirituality. It is the idea that the human soul exists separately from the human body, and that the soul is not IN the body, but is rather reflecting ON the body during the life of the human. When the body ceases to vibrate, the soul does not change form, go somewhere, or otherwise "depart." It simply changes perspective to be looking out from its own reality rather than looking out from human eyes.

Ok, so, once the human body is no longer vibrating at 271 times faster than middle C, the soul will no longer reflect on the body, but it does not go anywhere. It is still right here, but is vibrating at a speed that our human eyes cannot usually see (some do.) But the important thing to realize is that the soul that used to be here in the body is now here in the spirit - but still HERE.

Ok, so for this next part, can you remember someone you have met during your life that was such an instant friend, instantly feeling as if you had known each other your entire lives, and you became very close very quickly? It is as if your souls "harmonized." That you were so closely attuned in vibration, that you "melded" with each other.

So, what could happen when your soul, which is not in your body, happens to meld with, flow through, become one with, harmonize with, another soul that is no longer reflecting on a body? It could happen the same way you harmonize with someone whom you meet, but it goes deeper, because there are no bodies to create static. A soul who still exists, still lives, continues to grow and develop, but might have lived on this planet in physical form a hundred or a thousand years ago.

So, you're in a hypnotized state of past life regression, and your soul is very open to receiving impressions from other souls around it, due to the hypnotic state. The souls meld so completely, that when you "remember," you feel as if you are remembering something that happened to YOUR soul, when in fact, it happened to a soul with whom you feel close connection and oneness, who has already ascended into the spiritual realms, which means - still HERE, but on another level of reality.

I'm not saying this is "the answer." I am only presenting a hypothesis to show a variable in the assumption of provability of past lives and personal reincarnation of individual souls.

Do take the time to read Michael Newton's 2 books (the third was written by other hypnotherapists trained in the same technique, but I don't think is an important book.)

Journey of Souls

Destiny of Souls

I think these are among the most important books I ever read. The first one blew my mind. The second one answered some questions and assembled some pieces of the puzzle.

There was no mention in his books (gleaned from the memories/experiences of over 7000 between-life sessions) of the white light being a trick or causing rebirth with amnesia. Every one of the people (souls) he spoke with (under hypnosis) had decided to reincarnate - you don't HAVE to. They also know in advance that they will be entering with amnesia, because taking a test with all the answers is not much of a test (and that is how most described the REAL purpose of incarnating - an experiential test or string of tests.)

There is so much info roaming around on the Internet. That we are all one. Um. We are not. Never were. Never really will be. There is a big something, that people call the creator. (I am not religious. It is just a good word for someone who creates.) I have a soul memory of being inside the creator and being bored. So bored. My life, as an adult, consisted of being inside this womb like place, moving about. Like a gymnast. Stretch leg. Point finger. Forever. Boring. So, one day I was asked (telepathically): "Do you want to take part in an experience?". Words to that effect. I said yes. Next thing I remember was "SPLOUFFF!!!".... We all kind of just burst out into a big fluid like mega space. All of us. It was a kind of cosmos with lots of... um... particles maybe? My memory translates it as a cosmos with various space stuff in it. And I remembered that what happened next was that all individual energies had to decide what they wanted to do in their "life". Some wanted to be galaxies, and some wanted to be trees, and... well, that is the simplified version. But basically... we've been around a while.

And then things just evolved. It takes time for things to evolve. To figure themselves out. What is it like to work as a galaxy? What is it like to be alive on a planet? I remember walking around as a dinosaur with a long neck and getting struck by lightening. I died. But... we are energy. We are just a ball of energy. Not that we turn into horses. The universe has existed a long time now and if we wanted to be horses we should have said so a long, long time ago. Too late now. But now... well, some of us decided to go to earth and take part here.

So. Controlling? Hm. In the end, the creator can pull the switch on the entire universe, but he doesn't get involved that much, I think. We do have... um... rules that we have to follow. If we eat arsenic we die. That is a rule on earth. And in the solar system there is a rule about free will. There is... all sorts of things that matter and exist. Love being the most magical one of all. But other than the rules, it is not about "big brother" of the solar system, no.

The light is true. That place called "Elysium"... I know there is a place of light. I have been there between lives. I don't remember all of that so clearly and haven't asked so much. Light is true, though. If you don't trust the light, then... I don't know what to say.

There is a TON of mis information out on the "Internets" though. I've started to listen within and to my guides a lot. Using my BS detector, too. I hope you guys will do that as well. Heart. Mind. Spirit. Oh, and be careful with spirits who.... hm... well, if they are "Lord Sananda" like who came to me, then kick the imposter out. Long story but I was really angry when I realized it was a mind game ploy. Like... REALLY angry. :mad2:

I realize I am hijacking this and apologize. It is my aim to be helpful even though I do realize I must sound... um... far out to a lot of peeps. I'm used to it.

You are partly right. It is difficult to explain. Imagine that you are in a pretty room and you are packing for a journey. A long journey. You have many shelves of practical stuff. You have a box, that says "math talent" and a box that says "good looks" and a box that says "great singer".... But the suitcase you are taking with you can only hold 5 boxes. So you have to chose.

It is a bit like that. Our soul is brilliant. It knows so effing much. It has learned trillions of things over the years and it knows a lot from the big "supermind" in the sky. Which is like an psychic Internet we can be lucky to link up to and then, like a genius, we just KNOW the answer. So we have lots of experience and also an amazing supermind that we can ask questions. Plus... well, I will get to that later.

But we get to earth with part of our soul INSIDE of us. And part of it was left behind. We can meditate and try and remember it.

Now... the other part. About other people "rubbing off" on us. Yes, they do. A lot. Often. If you are sensitive then you experience this even more. You can be sitting across the room, or just walking past someone and sense them. If you are in an apartment the negative emotions of the neighbors can be felt by you. You can end up getting negative very quickly. And if you are under hypnosis and not quite being guided right and "wandering" a bit in your focus... it is possible that you end up reporting on stuff that isn't yours. We live in an energy world.

But you yourself also have past lives. Just like you also have lots of energy that is yours.

Big topic and I've been all over the place. I really should be quiet now. But... the people I enjoy reading and listening to are Penney Pierce and Chris Thomas. Penney talks about how we are entering into an age now when we need to get more positive so we can enter more of the soul into the body. And how the negative people won't be able to stick around that much longer. She's on youtube.

Have a great evening folks. I hope I was more interesting than annoying. Peace!
