(this is not an entirely serious thread)

I recall theories being advanced that Merkel was a child (spawn?) of Hitler.

The press reports of this picture call it an 'unfortunate accident', but I wonder a little.

Apparently this picture has gone viral.

I also imagine I can see a resemblance....

You think Netanyahu was sending a message perhaps?

Funny, but I think the shadow might have been highlighted a bit.

It would not surprise me one bit that this man (trying to be polite) is doing it on purpose. Look at the eyes on this dude, he is loving it.
Just shows how obsessed this man is.
It seems to me he must of been mommy's boy, scared of everything and now he has learned to project this fear in everything he does, pretending to be so macho when in fact probably sleeps with a very old and favorite teddy bear.

I saw the film (Big Bad Wolves) not so long ago and I can honestly tell the jewish actor who plays Gidi (Tzahi Grad) is the absolute apitome of how I envisioned Netanyahu to be when he torture's a man he believes murdered his daughter...:yes4:

Put it this way, he uses full advantage of the (Torture Techniques) he learned whilst serving the Israeli Army Military Intelligence..!

For their cold-hearted psychopathic shear ruthlessness, using any means possible and allowing no-one to stand in their way...!!!

MOST EMBARRASSING PHOTO OF THE YEAR ~~ GOING VIRAL ON THE NET

February 26, 2014 at 07:51 (Germany, Humour, Irony, Israel)

The use of nazi symbols is illegal in Israel unless they are used on the face of the German Chancellor

*

All of these things make a Merkel-Hitler comparison awkward — so much so that, instead of just calling it “Picture of the Year,” we might do better to call it “Embarrassing Picture of the Year.”

The Lesson of Angela Merkel’s Hitler Mustache

By Sigal Samuel FOR

*

Ah, the hazards of light and shadow.

When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a press conference today with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, he didn’t mean to point his finger in a way that would cast upon her face a distinctly Hitler-mustache-like shadow. But point he did — and Jerusalem Post photographer Marc Israel Sellem captured the moment in a photo that’s now gone viral.

The image has unleashed a tidal wave of laughter, praise and puns. BuzzFeed ran it under the tongue-in-cheek headline “There Is Nothing Strange About This Photo of Angela Merkel — And You’re Crazy If You Think Otherwise.” Gawker’s headline joked that “Angela Merkel Did Nazi This One Coming,” engendering a slew of comments like “Something’s not Reich here” and “Heil get you every time.” Inhabitants of the Twittersphere have been busy nominating it for “Picture of the Year,” while the photographer’s personal Facebook page has been inundated with back-slapping comments from friends (“Congratulations!” “Bravo!”).

But the photographer himself, and his employer, seem to be taking an altogether more bashful approach. Sellem initially uploaded the photo to his Facebook page, but then deleted it, according to BuzzFeed. The Jerusalem Post has said that it will not use the photo, with reporter Lahav Harkov taking care to clarify that the image did not (despite appearances) get posted to the Jerusalem Post’s Facebook page, and tweeting in quick succession:

There’s a whiff of embarrassment and defensiveness about these remarks — and that’s probably just as it should be. Looking at this photo, you can’t help but laugh. But you also, well, kind of cringe.

Likening Merkel to Hitler — even accidentally and non-verbally — is especially cringe-worthy given what a conciliatory posture the German leader has taken towards world Jewry, the State of Israel, and even Netanyahu’s right-wing government. She took time out of her election campaign to pay her respects at the Dachau concentration camp. She called for the people of Germany to show “civil courage” in the fight against anti-Semitism. She said that a boycott against Israel is “not an option.” She even came out in support of Netanyahu’s controversial demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as Jewish, calling that recognition “critical.”

All of these things make a Merkel-Hitler comparison awkward — so much so that, instead of just calling it “Picture of the Year,” we might do better to call it “Embarrassing Picture of the Year.”

The Jerusalem Post is right not to run such a photo. And their staff members are right to be (or at least publicly act) a bit bashful about the whole thing.

But, of course, the good sense they’re showing means almost nothing in practice. The image is out there, flooding news sites, social media sites, and even Getty Images. The sad fact is that today will be remembered not as the day a German leader received Israel’s highest civilian honor — oh yes, amidst all the laughter, did you not hear that Merkel received the Israeli Presidential Medal of Distinction from President Shimon Peres? — but as the day she was likened to her most notorious countryman.

Ironically, while accepting the medal from Peres, Merkel herself saw fit to bring up that countryman’s ignominious legacy. “In light of Germany’s responsibility for the tremendous suffering of the Jewish people in the Holocaust, receiving this award today is something of a miracle,” she said.

In other words, she acknowledged that the shadow of the Holocaust looms long and large over Germany’s relationship with Israel. Apparently, she just didn’t realize how literally that phrase applies.

Benjamin Fulford is obviously a highly controversial entity but I have to agree with him when he once stated "Netanyahu is a N**i- people, wake up"-

as for Merkel being a possible "spawn" of the man with the funny little moustache who couldn't keep his right arm down (have no conclusive evidence- am not an insider): but just scrutinize the photos/film footages of the man with the funny moustache and constantly rising right arm (throw in the obviously photo-shopped photo provided by mountain_jim) but I personally find the alarming similarities to be exceedingly disturbing; but draw your own conclusions- I'm the world's foremost expert on nothing-

Well based on everything I have read online so far I don't think the photo is photo-shopped.

A tweet from a Jerusalem Post reader gave a quick reaction: “JPost photographer snaps what must be the most inadvertently hilarious political picture of the decade.”

The photograph was supposed to capture the two world leaders as they shared a press conference stage in Jerusalem.

The photo, making Twitter rounds, was nonetheless not published by the Jerusalem Post — though Mediaite reported that the news outlet reported the shadow image was genuine, not Photoshopped.

“Just want to clarify that none of the higher-ups at Jpost are pushing that picture. It’s not on our site and won’t be in the newspaper,” tweeted Lahav Harkov, a member of the Jerusalem Post newsroom. She also tweeted in a separate message to a reader who questioned if the photo was real: “It’s a real picture, not photoshopped. Obviously this wasn’t Netanyahu’s intention.”

@mountain-jim

it's basic logic (I work professionally in the realm of theater so I think I know a bit about lighting effects); look at the shadows cast by the light source; Netanyahu's hand cast a shadow across her face/upper lip but the right side of Netanyahu's face did not cast a shadow on the pale blue frame between his head and the darker blue background;

both seem to have been equally lit; but why does Netanyahu's hand create a shadow and not his head?-

I think most haven't grasped the reason for my posting; as I stated look at film footage/photos of Merkel and photos/film footage of AH then make up your own mind-

it's why I'm still baffled why my first thread posting about the possible faked death of Michael Jackson (authored by Xaviant Haze) turned almost exclusively into a discussion about Xaviant Haze's research/book regarding Meriwether Lewis' life/death and not Michael Jackson's supposed (or not) demise-

I feel a bit frustrated/misunderstood at the moment-

I did not understand what you are trying to say in the M.J. post, mainly I must admit because I had thought for sometime that Jackson had looked very ill indeed and I was not surprised that he died. He was not a favourite of mine, I think he was lucky to be acquitted of all charges against those young boys, and I think he was taking drugs, I also feel he probably was mentally unstable, and needed better care. I do not think he is now 'not dead'. But I do not know the facts, possibly none of us do.

With regard to Angela Merkel, I also am not sure what you are trying to say again! But taking the cue from your last post I assume you are implying that she bears a facial resemblance to Hitler. But so do a lot of people! I was watching 'Would I lie to you' the other night, and one of the contestants pointed out how like Hitler David Mitchell looked! It was very funny, because it was true, but I do not believe D.M. was Hitler's love-child, he just had a strange hair-cut..

The other thing you may be signalling is that the whole story is obviously (if I suspect it then it certainly is obvious) Photoshopped, and the pose of Netanyahu is angled and highlighted deliberately. Interesting, but odd!

Thanks for the opportunity to figure out a puzzle! I'm probably quite wrong in my reasoning, but it was a neat cryptic post!

Bill Gates is the right age to be spawn of Hitler, but he looks just like Gates Sr, oh well :( huge ears and nose.

Merkel's eyelashes remind me of Hitler's now that you mention it. really tiny like a doll's.

Gosh the closer the look the scarier they are. :( GD celebrities don't up to harsh scrutiny.
