I came across this talk given by photographer Aaron Huey. It is a very small window into what is still going on just in America today. I understand that oppression is all over the world but this is very close to what I call home today in this world for now.

Karma. Instant Karma, just ad hot water.. We, the people of this planet, find ourselves in much the same situation. Perhaps a little less down the road, but overall we are at the fork in the road, or blank page between chapters. Much as we have the AD BC concept, I beleave we will, in time, measure our history by our understanding of our place in the universe, before contact and after.
We are all the Indians here. Don't get me wrong, what we as a sub race (white) did in the name of development and progress was wrong, plain and simple. However, if we hold any hope of sovereignty for this planet and our descendants we need to get over our past. Revenge making the whole world blind and all that, blind to the truth perhaps. We must ALL find a way to forgive everyone, for everything, ultimately there is no better or worse tragedy, only tragedy.
We must forgive each other and work together to grow and form and make real our collective goal as a diverse species, the creation of a rainbow tribe... X... N

That was a very moving and very powerful talk.
It's a stain on the collective human soul, nothing less. Maybe there's no solution, but what we can do is wake up to the fact that the same is happening today with indigenous people worldwide, and we can demand that it stop.
