This is one of my favorite songs from the band TOOL, and the hidden "Easter Egg" representing the The Fibonacci sequence in its grandeur. This was a integral part of their song LaTeRaLuS, to also include the entire album that went along with the sequence too, which I will post along with this video...
Enjoy!

Tool is a band. All members actually study the occult and influence the creations. Most people (mistakenly) credit Maynard for this.. However, he actually has less influence then it is assumed. (And listening to him speak on rogan's show will show that)
Adam Jones creates the art work. They all add to the lyrics. Danny Carey is likely the one who works the most "magic", in fact, lateralus (the song and the Fibonacci implementation) is mainly Danny's doing.
This is not to say I think less of Maynard. Having the chance to get to know them, I was surprised by how little he knows, compared to the rest of the band. With that said, check out his newer band " Puscifer".

All of what you mentioned about the members I have fully been aware of that for a long time now... Danny is a big Aleister Crowley book collector/practitioner of Hermetics. He also studied in percussion with theory into the principles of geometry, science, and metaphysics as well as delving into Sacred Geometry and certain hidden aspects of life in relation to the occult...Adam used to be an artist/designer for the film set of Spielberg's Jurassic Park. prior to meeting MJK. Chancellor was a student at Durham University afterwards he joined the band formerly known as Peach supported by Tool in the early 90's in England, then in September 1995 Tool was looking for a bass player and they called him to join, and as for Maynard. He is originally from Ohio, but spent his high school and college years in Michigan. Attended West Point Academy went to the Army in the early 1980s, he attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids. He moved to Los Angeles, California in 1988 to pursue a career in interior design and set construction. Shortly thereafter, he formed the band Tool with Adam Jones. Together they are a unit of syncopated, harmonious, badassness!!!

Danny Carey is the master. And the driving force with Jones behind Tool.

Well.. They did green jelly (or is it green jello?) first lol
Definitely my favourite full band. Maynard is my favourite singer as well. (I am even nicknamed after him) I love A Perfect Circle (13th Step being one of the best full albums I have ever heard IMO) and Puscifer also.
Many do seem to think Maynard IS Tool, but it is important to note that all members are "seekers" and combined is what makes Tool so special. Anyone in LA can easily meet Danny. His other band plays live weekly and he is very friendly.
"And you will come to find, that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable " :)
Fun story: Maynard and Adam and the original bassist would jam with another drummer downstairs from Danny. Danny heard them and told them the drummer sucked. That they should let him play. They did. <<one of many Tool "legends" which is probably totally false lol

Reflection is one badass song Shane, btw...I have been looking at their webite www.toolband.com, and they are actually gearing up to go on tour here next month. I wonder if they have finally finished the new LP yet? They're always so mysterious when it comes to their album releases, but it would be cool if that was the reason was for the upcoming tour dates... Wishful thinking... I have seen them for the LaTeRaLuS and 10,000 Days tours, and they always put on one helluva show, I can't wait for the next one...

No new cd yet. They will do a small tour and then head to the studio. :)
The toolshed site is the closest to an "official" site they have. Blair does a good job of creating mystique around the band.
There is a "hitler finds out.." Video about Tool not making a new record yet that is hilarious. Find it if you haven't already!

First off,,,,I freaking love Tool. I mean, I really really love them.
January first 1996 I was partying at a rave and I met this pretty amazing girl.
She couldn't believe I had never heard of Drunvello Melchezidek. She honestly acted embarrased for me.
She had just moved to Phoenix from Sedonna and worked for Drunvello as his nanny.
She asked if I liked the band TOOL, I stated I thought they were okay.
She dropped some hints that one of the band members had studied with Drunvello, I didn't really ask who, but it's pretty obvious in the song below that this happnened to be the case.
At the time my appreciation of TOOL had not awakened, but they stand as the only answer for the modern day musical Heirophant as far as our sorry ass musical industry is concerned.

This homemade TOOL video helps to clarify the Drunvello/TOOL connection. It's really good.

DNA: that is my absolute favourite song by Tool (close second being "pu****").
I was actually given a book of notes by Danny, all from what you've mentioned above. They all study the same things. If you hear them talk about the second bassist in the band (someone who added a whole new layer to the band) you hear them express how he is the "perfect fit" for the band.. The reason being he came in with a lot of knowledge of the occult also.
Even Danny's drum set up, has symbolic meaning. As do the outfits Maynard wears, the art that Adam creates (most recently with the help of amazing artist Alex Grey who made my avatar) and the frequencies the bassist justin is a master of.
Truly a special band, one that can be as valuable as a great book.
"Blood into Wine" is a good documentary for anyone interested in Maynard.
I really liked this interview.
The information on Maynard by Maynard is top notch.
He talks about growing up and living with his father as a teenager. Working in the midwest shoveling snow, and then living in Boston as a pet store manager. I had no freaking idea. This pet store then shipped him to LA to run a shop, he then began frequenting local rock venues, and calling out the bands who didn't know who they were.
Maynard was like, these guys are so busy trying to be glam, or grunge or whatever they are missing the point, and well, they suck.
After calling out so many posers, someone dared Maynard to do better, and he was like, "okay".
Crazy.
Oh,,,and Maynard spent four years in the army.
OH, and Maynard apparently was good friends with the man, the legend the myth Bill Mother F#cking Hicks.
SO much love.
Very cool.

Was never much a big follower of Tool but did enjoy some of their tunes way back in the day -- and the complexity of their art -- it was more than just "music"
Thanks for the re-intro!
