Well many times people who make public images or videos of unidentified objects have had responses stating it could be the result of misidentifications or result of tricky like using modern day techniques like cgi or Photoshop.
Many years ago these techniques didn’t exist so other explanations have to be found according to the technological develop at the time. People inability to believe or even consider the impossible is too much to bear for most of the population, so alternative explanations to fit in with the current mind set have to be found, a frame of reference to make you feel comfortable.
If a very few think of the possibility of an alien present, it has to fit in with our perception of what WE think they should behave, and contact us on OUR terms, so everything in the universe has to fit in with our way of thinking otherwise it cannot be.
Evidence, well what makes us think that the world as a whole is ready for contact with other species? If any contact has happened it would be in secret and at the highest levels and no doubt exploited for self centred interests of any particular country that is lucky or unlucky enough to have contact.
Many also assumes that everything out there has to of had the same processes of development as mankind with wars, etc., being common place for development and progress, this in fact maybe complete untrue and is an assumption. We only have our experience has a yard stick to judge, yet if we are to contact other life forms out there, we have to put away our yard stick and start with a fresh slate. After all we haven’t done very well using these methods, a divided world, and a lack of unity amongst ourselves.
