Hello Everyone:

I thought this was an excellent article that goes to show that we have abilities that are natural. The woman just thought it was natural and that everyone else could leave their body anytime they wanted as she does.
There's been lots of movies and series about humans with special powers. Maybe it's not as science fiction as we all think!
What do you all think about people have extraordinary powers?

Here's the link to the articles:

We all have many senses we are taught not to use, and we can do much more than we are ever taught or allowed to do. I think the issue isn't that we can't do these things or sense things in many ways, but just learning to be safe and ethical. :)

If I am not mistaken, I believe Inelia Benz also has this ability. Sounds like something to strive for, as a natural ability that I am sure all humans have the hardware and ability for, but has somehow become lost or supressed.

I saw this article and remembered that a cousin told me at a family reunion that he could leave his body just like this young lady describes. Yes I believe it is possible.

Y'all make me really curious as to what you read on this forum. There's a bunch of folks talkin about their out of body experiences on several different threads in the Spirituality section. I'm also quite surprised that no---one else has mentioned this to you.

Thanks for posting.

I have had out of body experiences since a child, I found out later that it runs in our family lineage. So I wonder if anyone in this lady's family does the same? I have heard others say it runs in their family too, so maybe there is a DNA switch on?

Having said that anyone can learn how to induce out of body experiences, there are plenty of books out there with 'how to' - it just takes self dedication and patience and perseverance and will power learning to drop the 'personal identity' and popping out and having an adventure.

I have met many children that naturally have out of body when young - but unfortunately are told either by parents of society it is just a 'dream', so many children drop it; quite a shame really seeing as there is so much benefit from exploring who we are 'beyond this physical body' - it squashes the notion of no existence after death for instance.

It was when, out of curiosity, I was reading "On the Toltec Path" that I one day stopped and said to myself: You know, there's no reason I can't do this myself. All I have to do is find out how. So then I chewed up some more books by people like Robert Monroe, and Bruce Moen, and then chewed up some of the threads here on avalon about OBE and astral travel, and found some of the people here who could do it. My only problem is I have not put forth the concerted effort, like for example, the way sirdipswitch did. If you ask me why, I really can't say for sure, other than the time just doesn't feel right somehow. Could be fear, maybe. Could be laziness. Could be that I have four kids in gradeschool and don't get any quiet time. :- )

Yes, it's part of who we are as humans. Kids see, hear, feel, and know things they are told are imaginary, so they lose that trust in themselves and it's sad to me to block off part of who we are. I do feel we are spiritual, energetic beings visiting human bodies, so it would make sense we aren't bound to five senses and nothing else.
