View Full Version : The Meaning of 222?

I have an ongoing "situation" with the number 222, a few examples of this is, for one my birthday (I know I probably shouldn't put this on the internet but it is the most substantial of all) my birthday is 3-9-1998. 3 squared is 9, 9 times 222 is 1998... When I discovered this my mind went blank for hours. Another situation is every morning on the way to school I walk past a house that has the address 222, when I was playing a dice game with my friend I rolled 3 dice and I got 2-2-2 TWICE. the last three digits of my mothers phone number are 222. my school lets out at 222. You get the point... Whenever it can be possible, it is, at this point I can get a feeling that it's been too long since I've seen 222 and the next thing I know BLAM, there it is. I looked it up and apparently the number 222 is an "Angel Number" and has some significance behind it, it also follows people from time to time and it apparently means something special, but that is too optimistic for my taste. Another thing I have that happens to me often is that I have moments of Deja vu at surprising frequency. But the kicker is that most of the time it is while doing things that I couldn't possibly have done before. It can be as small as remembering that I've had the same exact conversation with someone before when we've practically just met. Or something as "grand" as being able to "predict" what will happen next a second before it actually happens. I'm not saying that I have super powers, because I don't, I'm not saying I'm special, because I'm not. This all could be a HUGE coincidence, but i tend not to believe in those... If anybody has had similar experiences then PLEASE SHARE, even if that involves telling me I'm crazy, I need closure. Also if you want to hear more of these "coincidences" then I'd be happy to oblige, I've usually met The Number 222 at least twice by this time of day.
Sincerely
Smudge222

Don't worry about posting your birthday smudge. We already know your name, birthplace, living address, medical history and all that anyway! ;-)
We are rockin' in the NSA!
It is likely your misfortune that I wondered into the way of this thread before other far more knowing individuals but I will share the feeling I got from this. I have noticed when I first discover something I didn't know existed, I then notice it ALL the time. So much so that I wonder what the heck is going on. In the years I spent studying 9/11 I would coincidentally notice the clock so many times at 9:11 that I thought I was going crazy. Actually, it still happens more than I am comfortable with. As we are creating our own reality, perhaps it's that numbers that resonate with us as individuals tend to pop up more than others in our perception. ???
I will be curious to hear other explanations...
(and what I would have given to have been able to have had access to such a site as this at your age! :-)

22...222 has special meaning for me, however I do not see this sequence repeated as much as you have in daily life. I have had similar situations happen with other numbers...usually 11's (which are related to 22 for me)
Yes and im curious what the connection is to 222 in Bill's post with the ink blot test?

The first time when I was given this test I was too young to feel suspicious about it ;) And I recall I probably named some animals and butterflies .. ( I was around 4 - 5 ) and they wanted me to go to school.
The second time ... I was few years older... and found it so incredibly perverted that I kept stubbornly naming butterflies ... to every picture shown ...
The next time they gave it to me I had the guts to ask the psychologist if she thinks it's sane to interpret fuzzy disfigured picture in way to be used as diagnostic tool ,
and she laughed for 5 minutes .
It was no longer important .

Numerology and synchronicities, happens to me all the time. If it didn't, I would be worried. Probably very common to most of us Avalonians... Just our higher selves guiding us.
Numerology is the study of numbers, and the occult manner in which they reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie. Experts in numerology use the numbers to determine the best time for major moves and activities in life. Numerology is used to decide when to invest, when to marry, when to travel, when to change jobs, or relocate.
Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician who lived from 569-470 B.C., is said by many to be the originator of much of what we call numerology today. The actual origins of numerology predate Pythagoras, the most popular being from the Hindu Vedas. In the twentieth century, the old science seems to magically reappear in the form of a series of books published from 1911-1917 by L. Dow Balliett and it was helped along in the 30's by Florence Campbell, and within the next few decades a wealth of literature was available to the public. Indeed, if you look at the past 90 years, it would seem that the science has moved very rapidly. But perhaps all of this was known at a much earlier time, and it was just hiding from us for a while.
According to this (http://www.spiritual-path.com/numerology.htm) site 222 means:
222, 2222 - This is a sign of confirmation that you are on the right path, doing the right thing and going in the right direction. Continue with this train of thought.

Hey smudge 222 & mpennery welcome to Avalon :-)
Smudge I have been seeing numbers for years and years the big one for me is 11:11 or 1:11 however 444 is also big on my "numbers I see" list. any double or triple or quadruple numbers in a row has significances to me.
I have dabbled in numerology for years and find numbers to be so very interesting.
For me when I see 11:11 I stop and pay attention to what I am thinking and doing at the time I see the number. I have discovered that I am always doing and or having a positive experience/thought. So to me seeing the number or numbers is a confirmation that all is well.
I am also perplexed as to why Bill posted a link about Rorschach test???
Much love! :grouphug:

I suspect the reference to the Rorschach inkblot test is that just as different people see different things when they look at ink patterns, different people see/feel/interpret different meanings from numbers.
I was born April 4th (4/4.) My social security number includes 44. My telephone number and zipcode (where I grew up) both started with 44. I first noticed the repeating 44's when I was assigned to Cub Scout Pack 44. At different times in my life, I have noticed 44's seeming to appear frequently (like when looking at a clock, awakening at 4:44, etc.) Does it mean anything? Not that I ever discovered. Does the number 44 seem to appear frequently simply because I am focused on it, and the millions of other number sequences I'm not focused on are glossed-over by my mind? Probably.
Later, the US government murdered MLK on 4/4.
My most bizarre instance with a 44 was when someone - by chance meeting - (someone I did not know) got into a brief conversation, and then he blurted out, "Is the number 44 significant to you? Because if it is, I invite you to join me and a few others studying the philosophical works of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky. The number 44 is significant because there are 44 spirit guides associated with the group."
What does it all mean? Well, it depends on who is doing the interpreting - or dismissing. Folks into numerology further break down numbers by using multipliers/divisors, and that can yield a much larger pile of numbers and possible meanings. Is it really more significant if we can discover multiples or divisors of "that number" that also seem to appear? I personally don't think so - I think we could easily find false significance and non-existent correlations. But then, we all are free to interpret, and find significance - or not.

The ancient art of numerology espouses to be the purest tool of Divination, and in the realms of our Mathematicians/Astro Physicists they say that numbers are the key to all that is to be understood about the Cosmos. To my understanding - according to Hindu mysticism and 'The Matrix' movie which was based on its teachings.... Zero and Uno hold the answers / the number one is the foundation of All things. So then, we may have a powerfully archetypal and subliminal synergy with numbers that we are yet to fully understand. Numbers are said to carry their own unique vibration... meaning that the numbers we see are transmitting energies to us.
Rorchach Testing on the other hand is such a woefully in-exact science and counter intuitive as a testing tool, as it generates so much subjective/ interpretive flotsam and jetsom... that its a wonder its quackery lasted so long. The method does though make for beautiful imagination inspiring mono prints in the art room!
The old 11:11 has appeared regularly to my eyes for the last 30yrs, since I was pregnant with my daughter who was born on the 22nd of the month.....
such mysteries hold our wonder and instil a sense of magic amongst the banalities of existence. If the connectivity in our awareness to numbers only does that... I am content not to have ALL revealed!

For what it is worth 22 is supposed to be the number of the Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w). I assume, but do not know for sure, that this has something to do with 11:11. It may have started unconsciously, but now I write more or less consciously poems in verses of 11 lines or 22 lines (when it is the entire poem). Numerology can be a real trap I think and it can drive us nuts. Many things seem to be occurring in a non random fashion when indeed they are random. The "The Theory of Runs" deals with this phenomenon in depth. One example of how the odds can be counter intuitive is the "birthday problem" my old professor pulled on the class. This involves figuring the odds that so many people in a room share the same birthday. The odds turn out to be much higher than most think.
But I swear, in my playing of Scrabble over the years the laws of probability have been broken repeatedly! First I had six months of being plagued by the letter 'I'. This never happened again in the following seven or eight years. But very soon this 'I' disease as I called it was replaced by a plague of too many As, Us, and Gs. Generally I have bad luck in drawing letters (including by computer) while my friend has incredibly good luck. Is it my negative attitude? His positive attitude? God help me I think so. Or is it the law of "Lucky in cards, unlucky in love:"?

not sure why but I HATE seeing 9:11 on the clock.
came home last night or the other from a LONG walk and it was exactly 9 freaking 11 pm when I got in.
how depressing after all that effort to regain a sense of self, lol
at least we can make a salad and forget about it for a while.
p.s. did anyone notice that the Ides of March were fairly horrifying?
Missing airplane, explosion in NYC, etc.?

I think things DO mean something if you notice their significance and it is of importance to you. It is up to you to figure out what this means for you - ultimately.
I have always had a love of crystals, and I have collected them all my life. Once I received a pack of beautifully illustrated crystal cards which came with a book explaining the meaning/significance of each card. When i first had the pack, for about the 7-8 first times I picked a card , it was the same one. These cards are also in crystal shops in Glastonbury, and I always just picked out the Aquamarine card. I then went on a crystal course and everyone in the group had to pick one of these cards each. I laughed when i saw the cards and said I'm afraid I only ever pick one card - Aquamarine. About 5 people picked cards before me, then i picked...Aquamarine! We worked out the chances of that happening were less that one in a billion (because from different packs I'd managed to exclusively pick the aquamarine card over 10 times in a row)....so this card had to have a significant meaning for me. I had to use and play with my own pack of cards many times before I started getting different cards.

The problem with assuming that I'm on the right path right now is that this (right now) has been the most physically unfit and irresponsible I've been in a few years...
So my gut's telling me that this is just some sort of HUGE coincidence and I should work to improve myself. Also since 222 has followed me practically since birth, would that mean that I've always been on the right path? But I haven't done the same thing for more than one year in a row, usually with sports I change every year to one I haven't done before. I'm lost in this huge world and I don't know where to go, so how can I be on the right path?

I see how looking at a clock and seeing numbers that are all the same or reminiscent of something can be odd or in some cases ominous. But people who would call us mentally unstable for thinking these things, they could so easily write it off as coincidence, but when the numbers step away from the clocks and follow you, that's when it becomes something more. Something that the ignorant and the closed minded choose to forget, so they can live in their own little world where the borders are clearly set and anything outside those lines are untrue and silly. I fully appreciate the support of all of you who wish to tell me that I'm not crazy... But I almost want a skeptic to look at me and call me crazy, oddly, that would given me peace of mind... Because I can't stop thinking that there is more to this than anybody can imagine, but if none of us can imagine it how can we answer it... Honestly if I had the choice between the red pill and the blue pill... I might just take the blue....

"To each his sufferings: all are men,
Condemned alike to groan,
The tender for another's pain;
The unfeeling for his own.
Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise."

Did you try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequentist_probability ?
Frequentist probability or frequentism is the standard interpretation of probability; it defines an event's probability as the limit of its relative frequency in a large number of trials.

Validity
The authors conclude that "Otherwise, the Comprehensive System doesn't appear to bear a consistent relationship to psychological disorders or symptoms, personality characteristics, potential for violence, or such health problems as cancer".[100] (Cancer is mentioned because a small minority of Rorschach enthusiasts have claimed the test can predict cancer.)
Reliability
United States courts have challenged the Rorschach as well. Jones v Apfel (1997) stated (quoting from Attorney's Textbook of Medicine) that Rorschach "results do not meet the requirements of standardization, reliability, or validity of clinical diagnostic tests, and interpretation thus is often controversial
