Hey All. If anyone is interested in researching how communities can respond locally to widespread economic austerity, I think you might like this dialogue I just recorded with Wayne Walton. It's a little long @ 54 minutes but I think your effort will be well rewarded; Wayne is a real joy to listen to in my opinion. Thanks so much for your attention:

Interview with activist and economic pioneer Wayne Walton. Wayne is an entrepreneur and founder of Mountain Hours: a community-based, usury-free, alternative currency. Much of his activism takes place in his native Summit County, Colorado where he is currently working toward restoring human sovereignty through monetary reform. More information about Wayne, Mountain Hour Money, and Jubilee Shares can be found at http://mtnhours.com/ as well as http://start.hourmoney.net/

Thanks SG. I think global change through local action is really the way to go at this point in history. We literally couldn't move the federal government to do anything short of everyone taking a month off of work and occupying Washington; where we would likely be knocked silly (or pepper sprayed mercilessly) by the police. Wayne in Colorado, Paul Glover in Ithaca, etc. have developed an essential part of the solution. Glad you got something out of the discussion.
