The picture posted with the following text: "I have been held hostage by unknown military personal after my flight was hijacked (blindfolded). I work for IBM and I have managed to hide my cellphone in my ass during the hijack. I have been separated from the rest of the passengers and I am in a cell. My name is Philip Wood. I think I have been drugged as well and cannot think clearly."


MY COMMENT: For what it's worth, the Exif is intact. Exif data gets embedded in every image by every camera and includes the circumstances under which the photo was taken. It can be viewed by saving the image to the left to your desktop, and then right clicking it and selecting image properties. Hit the details tab. You can see that the image was taken on March 18 with an Iphone 5, with the ISO at 3200 and a shutter of 1/15. It states no flash was used, which is the only oddity here. But the coordinates are included in the exif data because the Iphone knows where it is, and the coordinates are for Diego Garcia.


Obviously I cannot confirm this 100 percent as real, but I do know that exif can't be rewritten with common software, it can only be added to with some applications and that photos with the exif intact will hold up in court. If the Exif is hacked and this is not real, the CIA or a really good hacker did this, which I doubt, I'd say it's probably real.


Surrounding this story is the fact that the man who managed to get this information to Farganne was harassed and received many threatening voice mails over it, that is another piece of evidence pointing to this as being real. One thing is certain, once it's posted here on this site the genie is OUT OF THE BOTTLE.

Well, in fact is not so difficult to "hack" an image changing the metadata on it like GPS position, camera's model, ISO and so on (Exif in this case).
You just must have the right software to do this and some skills. Also, there is other important info in the file, but you can (again) put whatever you want just using a hex editor and after all, change the file proprieties to adjust the file creation/modified and accessed. Everything is possible.. literally.
I can't imagine what kind of cellphone the IBM's engineer was using.. depending of model should has been very very hard to hide!! :hurt:

You may be a bit surprised but Windows Explorer is actually a wonderful Exif editor. Just right click any image file, choose Properties and click the Details tab. You can now edit a wide range of metadata associated with that image from the camera model to the shooting date to copyright information and more.

What about the "shutdown" of airplane's communications and tracker devices during the hijack? Is not evident to "cut" any in/out communication inside of the airplane like wireless, etc..? I don't know how powerful is the iPhone's antenna to transmit a text message or send a photo so far away from a cell tower in the ground and i don't know any floating on the sea... Only the sattelite phones can do it.

Diego Garcia is a remote center. Wholly controlled by the US government offices.

There is no civilian system operating in the area, IIRC.

I entirely agree. Whatever happened to the flight a whole lot of energy has gone into creating multiple, conflicting theories related to its disappearance. Part of the reason behind that is, no doubt, to muddy the waters and make discerning the truth more difficult. Another part, however, is probably to get those of us who are reasonably awake and aware wasting our time tracking down false leads and fighting among ourselves as to which theory is more plausible. Diago Garcia is an atoll in the indian ocean that has been developed into a U.S. Naval base and the first presence in the area of a permanent base. Given that the reports are that the immediate family distrusts this report, I'd wager the odds are slightly less than even that this story of Wood calling out is truthful.

Given that most of what we're hearing is self-contradictory, ever changing, nonsense, from official parties with an obvious means, motive and opportunity for lying, as well as a long history of and talent for doing so, I'd wager that the odds of anything we've heard being truthful are vanishingly small.
