Hi dear Avalonians,
In this forum we often discuss health issues or great inventions that can make life easier and more livable. In the US 18 Mio people suffer from health issues because of snoring and/or sleep apnea. I invented a hand device that can heal both. It's based on the principles of the so called biomechanical stimulation invented by the Latvian scientist Dr. Vladimir T. Nazarov in Soviet times.
I started a campaign on indiegogo this morning. Crowdfunding seems to me the way to get the development funded. Please have a look at my campaign and contribute or spread the word. I'm absolutely confinced that this invention can help millions of people all around the world.

Feedback of any kind is highly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi zippy-
if my read sources are correct (and they always stand to correction) those who most suffer from sleep apnea were not breast-fed in infancy (my oldest step-brother suffers from this affliction; he stated he has no idea whatsoever if he was breast-fed or not) simply because the sucking muscles of the throat were not in infancy fully developed; and we all know we not only breathe through or noses but through our mouths as well (why do so many people sleep with open mouths and subsequently snore at times?- but snoring is probably another concept...)-
I really hope your invention is valid and will work!- God bless you for your efforts-
please stay well in beautiful Heidelberg (ich wohne in der Nähe von Freiburg/Brsg.)-

I don't have sound where I am right now but am interested. I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea but have mostly been ignoring it. I was breast feed as a child but correlation is not necessarily causation or something like that.

My daughter has sleep apnea - and I KNOW she was breastfed.

A very innovative way to help people - I like it. I'll see about getting my brother to fund this since he is the one who snores. Best of luck to your campaign and I've shared this on Facebook as well.

I don't rem sleep , I'm tired every morning , my wife says I quit breathing several times in the night ... maybe I have this sleep apnea ... today at 1220 I passed out and woke up with memory loss it took five minutes to remember what day it was and what I needed to be doing , it scared the crap out of me ... I can fall asleep in one minute but never feel rested , i'm gonna look into sleep apnea ...

Nothing to do with having breastfed or not... i am the proof, since i breastfed till "they" were empty and worn out ;-) till i was almost 2, and i have sleep apnea. Best device ever invented and which really works is here www.breathingrelief.com
If we do not breath properly we will have lack of oxygen. Breathingrelief's nasal dilator, gives you just that oxygen..

Snoring and sleep apnea are often symptoms of a weak heart.
I applaud your ingenuity Zippy, and wish you the best....but every time I hear of a new sleep apnea device I can't help but chuckle, as it seems most folks are totally missing the point.
I've no doubt that some of these devices ameliorate the symptoms of what we call "sleep apnea" or "snoring" -- and I s'pose that can be a good thing for some people -- but it's merely a bandaid in the grand scheme of things. The problem goes much deeper than many think.
Not trying to discourage you, my friend. Just adding my 2 cents. I wish you the best of luck with it!

A thoughtful and considerate designed product. Initial view is that it has a limited market place-but if it could be proven to reduced excess fat deposition in the pharynx it would then serve the obesity problem-a significant cause of OSA.
A precurser or adjunct tool for cpap/bipap therapy?

i agree with bruno date, a weak heart is often the cause. however, the heart weakness is a symptom, too, of an imbalance in the generative/degenerative forces in the place where one sleeps.
simply put, the body does not receive enough generative power during sleep and thus is not able to recover fully and remain in a balanced state, as far as the generation/degeneration ratio is concerned.
if this condition remains in place for a long time, and depending on the intensity of the degenerative force, it can lead to all kinds of problems, also depending on the wavelengths of the radiation (=degenerative force) in the sleeping place.
what can be done? increase your body sensitivity and then find a better place to sleep (that means a place where the radiation towards the earth's core is stronger than the radiation from the earth's core). if you sleep on a water vein or negative area of the grid system get off it. if that's not possible because you live in an area that is negative overall (they exist in varying sizes, just like positive places) move elsewhere.
health problems are always due to generative/degenerative imbalances and the bed is where most people spend most of their (recovery) time so it's important that it's a "good" place. don't treat symptoms, treat the cause!

I snore and grunt and wheeze. It's gross. So does my husband...worse. Something amazing is happening, though. I am going slightly deaf with age, so now I am able to block his noise with earplugs, an iPod white noise app and an overhead fan rumbling in the background.
Husband used to have sleep apnea, but it appears to have gone away, on its own after he had a heart attack. So I wonder if the meds he is taking, along with just slight weight loss are helping. Although he has always been normal weight, so apnea isn't always a consequence of being fat.
Thanks for the thread. APNEA is a killer. Think of the ongoing stress on your body, night after night.
