I personally was never swayed by the industry.
I was always swayed by want I need and not always what I wanted by anybody.
To bad there are lots of folks out there who think they need to keep up with the Jones.

P.S. And now these days I can pretty much make my own stock footage , ROFL

Oh my. How ironic that his name is also Bill.

Come to think of it, most people I've met who go by Bill are very honest people.

Weird huh??

but unfortunately some do still fall for this kind of bologna.

Good video Bill

I posted it to family and friends on Facebook. They're very awake individuals (Probably only about 10% will get it and it'll probably send my X shopping, which makes it worth it). LOL

It goes so fast that no, people do not see through at all. TV is an hypnotiser by itself, people are already hypnotised, so they will absorb unconsciously anything thrown at them.

Very good article on media manipulations

6 Examples of Media Manipulation
Is Everything in the Mainstream Media Fake?

Sigmund Fraud
Activist Post

The world of television and modern media has become a tool of de-evolution, propaganda and social control. Since the reign of Edward Bernays and the rise of the Tavistock Institute in the early 20th century, nearly unlimited resources have been applied to understanding how to manipulate the human psyche through television and other forms of mass media.

What we have today is an increasingly sophisticated full-spectrum assault on free will and psychological well-being, and we have come to a point where it is no longer even necessary for media institutions to attempt to hide their blatant work of manipulating public opinion, manufacturing consent, and creating winners and losers in the minds of the already brain-washed public.

Here are 6 examples where truth reveals that the impression the media is conveying to a dumbed-down, unsuspecting public differs greatly from what is actually happening behind the scenes. By looking at these examples in a single location, it is easy to see how the mainstream media pushes ulterior motives on the public, and how important it is to be vigilant when consuming their info.

News Media Lies, Scripting, Omissions and Obfuscations

1. Time Magazine sanitizes their covers for American consumption – Time Magazine is considered a leader in national news, yet they consistently portray a dumbed-down, frivolous image of life in America while presenting an entirely different message to the rest of the world. In the two examples below, their magazine covers feature a different cover story for Americans while sending different messages to the rest of the world.

Time Magazine Covers 1

Time Magazine Covers 2

Source: Buzzfeed

2. CNN is the leader in fake war new coverage - Here are just 2 examples of how CNN has scripted and staged live war coverage to create a sense of drama and danger around people who were not in harm’s way.

Anderson Cooper fakes Syria war footage by dubbing in sound effects and playing chaotic video next to a Syrian correspondent. In the video you can see how in one tape the correspondent is in a safe environment, then you see the footage aired by CNN with dubbed in theatrical effects:

In this CNN clip of coverage of the first Gulf War in the 1990s, anchorman Charles Jaco makes a joke of war coverage in Saudia Arabia and demonstrates how the news is overly sensationalized for American audiences, and how hosts pretend to be in danger when they are not. At 7:00 in this clip Jaco quickly puts on a ridiculous gas mask for obvious theatrics while talking to a guest:

Manufactured ‘Reality’ TV

3. The Biggest Loser – Americans should by now already know that ‘reality shows’ are staged. The popular TV show, Biggest Loser, where overweight people compete to lose the most weight for the entertainment benefit of the rest of the world, lies about the circumstances of the training and weighing regimen of their contestants while using underhanded methods to generate phony emotional responses from their contestants.

They want the drama, the tears, the fights, the tears, the triumphs and the tears. Producers would push you to cry because that’s what makes good TV. They continually asked questions like “Do you miss your kids?” Needless to say, I broke down more than once…
Have you ever wondered how the contestants manage to lose a staggering 12 kilos in a single week? We don’t. In my series a weekly weigh-in was NEVER filmed after just one week of working out. In fact the longest gap from one weigh-in to the next was three and a half weeks. That’s 25 days between weigh-ins, not seven. -Andrew ’Cosi’ Costello, former contestant
Source: Courier Mail
It turns out that many of the so-called ‘reality’ shows are actually scripted theatrical presentations that count on the viewer’s suspension of disbelief to garner ratings. More info on the many fake ‘reality’ shows can be found here, and here.

4. Nationally scripted local ‘news’ – The comedian and talk show host Conan O’Brien has done a service for America by compiling overtly ridiculous cases of local ‘news’ broadcasts that were simultaneously repeated verbatim in dozens of markets nationwide. This is proof that you simply cannot trust the authenticity of what you are seeing on news broadcasts. Watch these stunning and blatant examples of this in the following videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM8L7bdwVaA&hd=1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ1mA1NeUmU#t=26&hd=1

Digital Image Manipulation is Ubiquitous in the Media

5. Manipulating Images as War Propaganda - There are many examples of how newspapers around the world photoshop images of war in order to influence public opinion. All sides in a conflict will do this as propaganda, so it is important to remember this when consuming news on international conflicts and to be alert for phonies. The images below of the recent conflict in Syria show how easily images are manipulated for the purposes of propaganda:

http://www.activistpost.com/2014/03/6-examples-of-media-manipulation.html

Syria Photoshop
6. Advertising Industry ‘Touches Up’ Images of People – The practice of digitally ‘touching up’ actors and models in images and videos is an overt industry standard. Yet most people, whether they’re aware of image manipulation or not, still process television and print images on the sub-conscious level as if they were, primarily because everyone is doing it, and our bias for ‘normal’ has been socially reconstructed to adopt advertising lies as normal.

This process is demonstrated in the following video where an ordinary looking woman is transformed into a lusty beauty queen for the purposes of selling more products to consumers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17j5QzF3kqE&hd=1

Conclusion

Whether for marketing or for manufacturing consent, the media industry is guilty of using subtle and not-so-subtle tactics to influence our conscious and subconscious minds to influence our opinions and behavior. There are countless other examples of these practices; and discerning, awake people would be well served to be vigilant of this when consuming modern media in any form.

You don’t have to be paranoid these days to acknowledge that you’re being lied to and that the institutions we should be able to depend on for bringing us an objective view of world are anything but objective.

Do you know the groups of people that are gathered before a new product or marketing advertisment comes out to the market in order to express their opinion?
Well, quite many years ago I needed the extra income and decided to participate in those. I refused to Banks and mobile companies (I don't have and never had a mobile), but agreed to review cosmetics, food products, textile etc.. In this procedure they were screening a couple of advertisment videos on the same product and the non- homogeneuos group needed to decide which of those is the more appealing so the more convincing one can be released to the public. Very fast I understood (verified) that the relationship between the product and the advertisement, if at all, is completely haphazard. (I know you are shocked!)

For example: one Shampoo, two movies. On the first one the girl is walking into a glitzy office with a miliion dollar smile and a wavey hair for a business meeting, then the frame goes into a lab and a very long explanation is given accompanied by scientific study and the tests given to it in the labaratory, and it shows the Silicon materialls and chemicals added to it to coat and 'protect' the hair - a very 'high techi' presentation in nature.

On the other one, the same model is running in the field, wearing white, barefoot, the sun is shining on her wavey hair, the field is green and full of flowers and the word 'nature' and 'we use natural extracts' often appeared on the screen.

My error was by asking if I can actually see the product and whether it is a chemical lab approved or an organic natural one? :) soon to find out that that had no relevence at all, the image is all they cared for, so chosing I didn't.

On other instances, I had to answer honestly that this or that has no impact on me at all and it's the quality of the product itself that is the main determining factor, only to recieve very nervous smiles and a later quick release from this type of work. And so, an extensive and prosperous career was amputated by what could have been a creation of fake bubbles and plastic dreams, and a prosperous career of truth seeking has began. Damn, if only I could adjust..

Tesla, I do agree with your observation that 'Bill' is a trustable name for some reason, I actually though of it as well, no one can perheps support this conviction better than Bill Clinton and Bill Gates, it always good to see real honesty in action.;)

Love to all,

I have a copy of the original Illuminati Manifesto that was written at Jeckle Island meeting in 1954. It stated that Television, was the perfect tool to achieve total control of the "Goyim", but they would need to wait untill "Computers", became big ehough, and fast enough, for them to be able to "track" everyones movement and buying habits.

Something that really "kills" me, is those little store "discount" cards that stores give to put on your key chain, to recieve instant discount for current purchases. Then you pay by check or debit card, and they know who you are and what you purchased. Over a very short period of time they know precisely how to control you through TV, because they already know through your local TV signal provider, everything you watch on TV.

When connecting DOTs', you really need to pay close attention, to "which" ones to connect.

That manifesto also was called the beginning, of "WWIII", the "Quiet" War. Of that document written in 1954, everything has/is come/comming, to pass... to the letter. When my two Sons read it, they looked at crazy ol Dad, and said, in wide eyed shock: "This is all happening now!!!" I just chuckled and said: "Yep."

Do any of you use those handy little store "discount" cards? Do you have a TV? Have you ever wondered why the "Volume" goes "way" up on commercials? So your subconscious, can "Still" hear it when you run to the kitchen for your late night snack. yep.

Of course not! Don't use those little cards, nor do I have a TV! I just sit here on my computer, connecting DOTs'. chuckle chuckle.

You ever wonder when you are out and about, and see something you just have to have, that you don't really need... cc.

Those cards are elementary in the advertising world, just for a small subset of the population. In the industry, the whole population is divided into subsets or "niches" so that you can have target marketing to specific customers.

These cards are used for that mainly, specific subsets related together by zip/post/area codes. Or sometimes by age. One example are all the gifties you receive when giving birth to a new baby and shopping for the cot or the clothes or..... even in the hospital advertisers are there. Once you register and receive your gifties, you are put on a list forever, so that when your kid is a teenager, you will receive offers for cell phone for example, and when your kid is 17, you will receive offers for clothes for college for example. We are being followed up through life. Those are the subsets, there is thousands of them.

You would not imagining either the mathematical algorithms that goes into advertising, this is a very complex business.

Or the ample research on colors to be used and their impact on the brain, eye perceptions, eye movements related to height for example, and of course words, words having the highest number of hits - highest impact - versus words saying the truth, I have a whole list of them.

If people would know that most of what they buy, not only don't they need it, but they are buying after extensive manipulation or their thoughts patterns, including the Partner they chose in their life is often based on thoughts manipulations since childhoods.

For example, now, after large amount of porn provided at 8 + of age, guys get girls that looks like what would have been whore in my générations, and does about the same. And girls, to have guys, will dress and behave as expected from guys, thinking that it is their free choice, when in fact everyone has been pushed into it.

Limor, you were throwing their mathematics off in those focus groups (it is how it is called) you participed in. But most probably, it is that they needed a yes/no (like/dislike) type of answer on specific characteristics to be able to code it, which you would not provide lol

For the non initiated, videos on Bernay's may be of interest

Lets not forget the children. Around October, the Xmas brainwashing begins. Kids are so easily to manipulate, and then the domino falls on the parents who never want to disappoint on xmas.

I also want to mention the absolute 100% infiltration of "noise/music" in the stores now. You cannot go into a store and shop in peace. I remember once about 5 years ago, I went into a retail establishment to purchase one specific item, a gift for someone. I came out with about 10 items that I did not go in for. I was in that store for over 2 hours for something that should have taken me 15 minutes. I returned most of it a few days later, but it was a couple years later I read about the subliminals in the store music to brainwash people into sleep shopping. A light bulb went off that day, and I have never shopped the same again. After that, Every time I enter a store I make a conscious effort to get what I came for and nothing more.

Yup.

And I love that the narrator's voice is the one used in all the ads for giant half-ton pickup trucks. You know, the husky, hard-livin' hard-drinkin' straight shootin' no nonsense cowboy voice that tells the prospective buyer that they can ignore all the crap about climate change spouted by those left wing, America hatin' inti-lect-you-alls and do the right thing by buying one of these here shiny, e-freakin'-normous ve-hicles. Sigh,

B.

Sam Elliot is the current 'voice' in NLP centric advertizing. In music, 'the voice' is Steve Perry of Journey.

Sam is almost perfect. He's close. If someone aided him in his phrasing and flow, just a tad, he could hypnotize entire nations into the insanity of buying monster trucks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoMUOR4jAvg). He's close enough for many but a bit if fine tuning would get him much closer.

EsKoxi12jbI

It's NLP + hypnotics at play in these things. The two are basically synonymous. If this video does not make it clear, I don't know what will.

kIAkLD9HXb4

it's about your eyes being straight ahead and your body not moving. This is the physiological body/mind position for trance.

It is what Dolores Canon was saying when she spoke about (my paraphrasing), 'when people watch TV, no one has ever been able to last more than 30 seconds before moving into the passive acceptance hypnotic state' (a specific brainwave state, IIRC).

The visuals are carefully planned to sneak underneath the conscious mind connection.

In one of these videos the hypnotist states that somewhere in the area of +85% of our day is spent in the autonomous state of mind, the non-conscious state of being.

Ie, that (up to) 88% of our day-to day flow and function is in an unconscious state, no matter how the conscious mind may feel on the subject.

A slight misquote: In the conscious mind, is where your LACK of willpower resides.

In the 88% of your day that is unconscious autonomous acts and flow is the place where your willpower resides.

he talks about 'critical factor' which is the barrier or gatekeeper between conscious mind and unconscious mind. This is why a convincing argument is never harsh or emotional, as it cannot pass the critical barrier. Never bring emotion into your debate, or it will never get past the gatekeeper, it will never get past 'the critical factor'. This is how the calm and logical seeming people on the rotten side of things hold the debate tide against you, as they remain calm and never lose their cool. They 'NLP/hypnotic technique' their way into convincing the 88% of people that is the real willpower of the individual and the masses.

Or the presented scenario/video/show is overly emotional, so as to engage the unconscious mind over any potential for critical analytical thought in the conscious mind. This is 'the O'Reilly factor', shows like Bill O'Rielly, which is about getting below the conscious mind and KEEPING their audience entrained to that mind and state, or level of hypnotic.

I've been trying (on this forum) to get people to understand that their conscious thoughts are CREATED and FORMED by the flow from that 88% where the conscious word in mind forming characteristics come from. That the conscious formation of the voice in the head is NOT in charge it is the 88% of the individual human below the consciousness barriers... the depth of us which is what in charge.

Speak calmly and reasonably, and you'll have your opening. How it is handled, is the key.

If you think this is not true, get into a highly emotional state and then try and think clearly and form clear thoughts. Good luck on that. Not going to happen.

So, we've got our deep body in charge of the very formation of our consciousness. (or what people tend to identify as 'consciousness')

You might begin to understand that we've got a problem happening here. I've gotten into this subject and the overcoming of it, in various threads and places on this forum. (the 'The ego, what is it?' thread started by greybeard [Chris] is also about this. He spends his time in the spirituality area for the most part, as this is where people tend to go, when they encounter this 12% analytical - 88% asleep issue that they exist as)

It is always interesting to note that not a lot of people move toward overcoming or understanding and integrating with this 88% 'deadhead' flow that is the core of what and who they are, that their conscious mind is a dimple on the ass of the beast that tows them around.

Can people be hypnotized quickly, in mere seconds, ie, 10-15 seconds, or less? Yes, very much so. recall the 88% of you is below consciousness aspect, and it becomes clear.

This goes on all the time, with television.

You can't break free, if you watch television, at all. The constant snippets of re-enforcement are a trap. NOT ONE SECOND OF TV, period. End it's viewing, wholesale and completely, or you will continue to be ruled by that 88% that is your willpower and thought formation, that resides in that unconscious 88%. No cutting back on TV and thus advertizing, but whole sale and total elimination of it, from your life, is necessary.

If you go to a restaurant, do not sit near a TV, and do not allow yourself to be positioned so you can see one. No TV's in doctors offices, waiting rooms and what not. If you can't turn off one that you are near, turn away from it. Carry headphones and listen to music on your iPod or phone, but NO video, NO TV.

Again, full circle on why it is important. Your thoughts are formed deep in that unconscious 88%, not via conscious mind. So you have no idea what it is like to think or form thoughts that are free of the effects of television, and if you view any of it at all, it is like trying to quit cigarettes, but sneaking a few, every day. Abstinence has to be total, and permanent.

In a few months, you'll begin to get some of your mind back, it will learn how to think independently of televisions, again. It will take about 6 months to get some balance back into your mind and thought formation.

Remember that the part reading this is only 12% of you. Not exactly accurate, but inaccuracies do in no way serve to allow you to wiggle off the hook. But that 88% asleep part of you will fight to make you move away from looking at this. Since it largely writes the script of your awareness and thought formation, it won't have a very hard time distracting you, will it?

Well, it was not my intent to kill this thread cold, like that.

Fear of television?

Fear of self?

Fear of self knowing? Fear of self fault knowing?

Fear of complexity of self beneath the surface?

People shying away?

Trepidation in the face of complexity of combined and flowing unknowns?

These things are not unusual...in fact...they are the norm.

Evolution in consciousness, in combining the deeper functions with that floating algorithm called 'ego/awareness, that is the direction, the norm.

What the PTB types and such situations seem to be indicating, is that those who might make it into a greater awareness are being slowly separated from those who might not. Like a cell, separating into two.

The food the air the environment, etc...all of it is indicating - sink or swim. Choose, it seems, is the deal. To evolve, is effort.... at the minimum.

Sinking is easy. One simply has to emotionally react and run in circles or not notice that there are any real problems, or to react incorrectly via emotionally derived thoughts and 'prejudices'.

If one cannot resolve an issue or problem, then the viewpoint is incorrect, or the greater problem is that the mind is limited in scope it can hold or discern. This means to resolve an issue, requires growth of self, before the resolution or shape of the problem can appear on the given self's stage of comprehension.

So, in effect, the problems of the world will never be TRULY resolved within the scope of what you know, old hammers and levers must fall away and new tools must be built in the self. To see differently. animal instinct, that 88% that is below the self awareness horizon, that is the part that must change. Note that this is the location that self will is situated in. so the problems are deep inside and have very little to do with conscious analytical aspects, regarding origins and forming of resolution.

Just like the Buddhists said, Seek detachment and look inside. when you fix yourself, then you can help fix the human realm. Until then it is all a case of running in circles and using incorrect hammers on the wrong nails.

skippy

These pieces are from a wonderful four part video essay style mini series 'The Century of the Self' by Adam Curtis.

Don't read the Wikipedia page, watch it. I guarantee you it's worth it. Even if you've seen it once quickly years ago. It goes through so many examples and history pieces it's no wonder it goes still around the internet after all these years:

Back in the mid-sixties, we studied Vance Packard’s The Hidden Persuaders in school, so I was familiar from an early age with the perversities of the motivational research behind advertising. The book, first published in 1957, has a page specially prepared for the 21st century retrospective gaze to linger on:

Eventually – say by A.D. 2000 – perhaps all this in-depth manipulation of the psychological variety will seem amusingly old-fashioned. By then perhaps the biophysicists will take over with ‘biocontrol’, which is depth persuasion carried to its ultimate. Biocontrol is the new science of controlling mental processes, emotional reactions, and sense perceptions by bioelectrical signals.
The National Electronics Conference meeting in Chicago in 1956 heard electrical engineer Curtiss R. Schafer, of the Norden-Ketay Corporation, explore the startling possibilities of biocontrol. As he envisioned it, electronics could take over the control of unruly humans. This could save the indoctrination and thought controllers a lot of fuss and bother. He made it sound relatively simple.
Planes, missiles, and machine tools are guided by electronics, and the human brain – being essentially a digital computer – can be, too. Already, through biocontrol, scientists have changed people’s sense of balance. And they have made animals with full bellies feel hungry, and made them feel fearful when they have nothing to fear. Time magazine quoted him as explaining:
‘The ultimate achievement of biocontrol may be the control of man himself… The controlled subjects would never be permitted to think as individuals. A few months after birth, a surgeon would equip each child with a socket mounted under the scalp and electrodes reaching selected areas of brain tissue… The child’s sensory perceptions and muscular activity could be either modified or completely controlled by bioelectric signals radiating from state-controlled transmitters.’
He added the reassuring thought that the electrodes ‘cause no discomfort’.
I am sure that the psycho-persuaders of today would be appalled at the prospect of such indignity being committed on man. They are mostly decent, likeable people, products of our relentlessly progressive era. Most of them want to control us just a little bit, in order to sell us some product we may find useful or disseminate with us a viewpoint that may be entirely worthy.
But when you are manipulating, where do you stop? Who is to fix the point at which manipulative attempts become socially undesirable?

Do you know about "Millennials?"

Generation Y.

Millennials will outspend "Baby Boomers" beginning in 2017.

They are the entitled generation.

Outspoken.

Millennials watch much, much less television.

But are physically attached to cellular phones and social media.

Can you tell how advertising has changed?

It's hiding innocently in selfies and social media comments, reviews and postings.

How do you manipulate the resistors?

You give them choices.

A pen and a notepad.

Knowing full well what they will sketch.

Because they are convinced there are only two options.

Click like, or click nothing at all.
