Affirmative Action may be Ending

Welcome to a "more fair" and less govt-controlled economy? Or not?

There are bound to be different reactions to the News - but let's put it out there.

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled 6-2 that...
STATES MAY END RACIAL PREFERENCES without violating the constitution*.

So "the finger on the scales of Justice" may be lifted (as some might say),
or
"The assistance from the state to redress historical injustices" may soon be over.

How do YOU see it ??

For the record:
Justices Sonia Sotomayor, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg filed a dissent.
And Elena Kagan was recused.
Two separate concurring opinions were filed by the other Justices

This is a very touchy subject GuyFox. Mind you this is just my perspective but
I think it's a good thing...I'm going to throw out an analogy here.
When I was 22 years old I hurt my knee playing football.I tore my acl and my ncl
I under went surgery to realign my knee cap. After surgery the Dr. prescribed
very heavy pain killers, which I needed very badly.I took them for a month and
a half after surgery. Then one day I was not in pain but I still wanted my pain killer
and then it hit me.. I was becoming addicted to the medicine that once had helped
me greatly so I put the pain pills away and moved on.

That's a good story, and I agree with your reaction.

I will state my own opinion clearly now:
A remedy WAS needed for the injustices of the past.
And it was put in place, and maintained for many decades. It is NOW time to think about Ending Affirmative action.

But it may STILL be necessary in some places, and in some States.
So why not let the States themselves decided When and How to end it?

I don't agree with every decision of the Supreme Court.
But i think they got it right this time.
