Why didn't Microsoft issue the warning?

They've finally moved their fear game to include the internet. It's so laughable.

Smelly, very smelly to the point it stinks!

MS discontinued updating XP recently so, what better way to get people to buy Win 7 or Win 8...

... yet the bug affects IE 6-11... which apparently receive updates independently of the version of Windows one is using... see, now, why it stinks?

Why are Homeland Security so concerned, if their systems and others associated with government activities secure? Some predetermine ploy here? A diversionary tactic?

my internet provider is excede/wildblue...i access the internet through a xbox 360..that provides only Internet Explorer as my option.my only option.we chose not to buy a third computer due to some truly crazy things going down with the comps..and to be honest its just simple this way..there gonna hack me.monitor.watch.listen and mess with it anyways..so why not let em..aint hidng anything...and there was NO notice..about the security breach on my xbox 360 dashboard..nadda...the only reason i know this now is because of this thread.thank you.

"there gonna hack me.monitor.watch.listen and mess with it anyways..so why not let em..aint hidng anything.."

That's exactly the mindset they want people to have.

Why not let 'em? Because it's none of their F###ing business! That's why!

They have obviously fallen out with MS, so I figure this is the best reason to go with MSIE.

There hadn't been a thing resembling privacy for a long time, this is just an in-your-face reminder.

It's niave to think there's such a thing as Internet "security", c'mon!

Why didn't Microsoft issue the warning?

They did. I saw it yesterday. The vulnerability is specific to having to fall for a phishing scam first (and clicking a bunch of disguised buttons to allow an attacker to gain control). Most people can avoid those easily.

Don't click strange buttons if you don't know where they come from or where they lead.
I clicked a link within a u-tube vid one time and immeadiately had to disconect my phone line from the modem to get off the internet fast. I didn't reconect, untill I had a friend go through and "clean" my computer, of the intruders fishing links they had installed. I no longr click "Links" within u-tube videos. nope, ain't gonna do it. Friend told me that bug came from a gbmnt computer. Don't know how he knew, didn't ask. I just know he's real good at what he does. chuckle chuckle.
