Anybody else find it amusing - in a deranged sort of way - that they want to make pot legal and health foods illegal?

Don't forget that there's a move by the FDA to regulate (outlaw) vitamins.

or at least get them under pharma control...
and don't forget the fight against homeschooling, where they mandate student enrollment and achievement testing in the very public schools that are only interested in having your kids memorize rhetoric for showing good 'School Curriculum and Staff Ratings'...
then there is the whole fluoride issue, ... where the fluoride actually gets more poison into your body nowadays than before... it used to be only in city water supplies and dental care products, but now they are also putting fluoride in bottled fruit juices, bottled water, baby foods and infant milk-formulas (ok now I really don't get this one... how in the H*LL can you claim to protect an infants' teeth when he has none yet?)
I really like David Icke's rendition quote from Michael Elner:
****************
todays technologies are turning the planet into a "mess" (he says sh**h*le)
everything is upside down and backwards
doctors destroy health
lawyers destroy justice
schools destroy knowledge
governments destroy freedom
major media destroys information
religions destroy spirituality
*********
so what can we do to turn this thing back around again?

you cant fly a kite on a beach in Australia without getting fined. It's illigeal.
Also if you walk past someone's car, and their number plate is slightly bent out, and you manage to somehow cut/scrape yourself on said numberplate when walking past - the owner of the car is liable, even if the car is parked in a carpark and the owner away at work.
Oh, and i went to the doctor's a while ago - i was stressed out with stuff at work and generaly unhappy - i asked for a doctor's cert/time off for a few days to unwind, and de-stress and get back on track. he gave me a questionare which they use to diagnose stockholm syndrome.

*Ahem* Actually it was meant as a values statement.
However...if you're inclined to get involved I'd recommend the following web site:
http://www.healthfreedomportal.org/
They make it very easy to write to your various public officials.
I personally print relevant information and go door to door to my neighbors...(I'm sort of the Jehovah witness of health foods :^) )
Also, it has proven effective to write companies (growth hormones in milk comes to mind). They will respond to loss of profits if public consensus is high enough.
I keep it simple....
"Dear Kraft, (or company of choice) This is to inform you that I will no longer be using your products due to your dependency on GMO products. I will be spreading this information to my friends, family and neighbors."
These letters can be sent from your computer.
Hang out at your city council meetings.
Also, make sure you make your appreciation known to companies that are making changes. Kroger, for instance, seems to be stepping up to the plate. They have an affordable bottled spring water that has negligible amounts of fluoride...their milk is growth hormone free...and they have begun to change over their canned products from using the Bisphenol A linings.
And of course you have to walk the talk. When you start getting public about it, they start peeking into your shopping cart.
And...Tigahawk, re: kite flying. I expect it will be legalized as soon as someone figures out how to charge you for the air your kite uses.
