Will assist one to adapt and adjust to the new frequencies presented to the earth sphere, as many begin their ascension into the higher realms of existence.

Shugnite is a very rare and powerful stone, almost 2 billion years in age. It is a mineral hailed as containing this healing power which nothing else excels in comparison. The healing properties of Shungite have labeled it a miracle stone. Therefore, it is the one stone that everyone should have in their medicine bag, because of its ability to purify, charge, protect, cure, induce recovery, stabilize, heal and promote growth to all living organisms. It also purifies water of almost of all organic compounds (including pesticides), metals, bacteria and harmful micro-organisms.

Shungite is a stone with a strong connection to the Earth, which makes it a good aid for grounding. However, it not only opens and stimulates the Base Chakra, but it, also, triggers the opening and stimulation of the Earth Chakra. Therefore, it is not only a good grounding stone, but also is a strong aid for spiritual grounding.

Shungite has a strong mystical energy. It will help anyone involved with magical and mystical practices. It’s deep primordial energy embodies energies of ancient spirits, which come into play in a protective role during magical work. Shugnite a great protector, a guardian and a body guard. It infuses the auric field with light, which shields the holder with a coat of black permitting only positive and beneficial rays to come through.

The grounding and protective energies of Shungite make it a powerful protection stone.
Shungite works on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies “attacking” the seeds of destruction and decay.
Shungite molecules slow down the growth of cancer cells and can slow down the AIDS virus.
Shungite will often come across as a stern and disciplined teacher, ready to impart its sacred wisdom with those committed to a higher path of evolving. As its frequency can and will align to those who begin to embrace and “wear” a vibratory signature that meets the future with love and light. There is responsibility when working with the energies of Shungite. Its energy source should taken lightly or by the faint of heart. The “ancient of ways” seems to echo through from the Shungite gemstone; Older Souls will be able to “hear” this inner language coming through.

It is very pragmatic and fills one with this energy as well. It is a stone full of potential and possibilities, as it can and will propel one along his/her path, keeping one focused, grounded and centered at all time.

[RANDOM facts:]

Everything of illness is dissolved and anything health-giving is concentrated and restored by this wonderful stone.
Scientists investigating Shungite declare as miraculous.
Place Shugnite in water to purify and charge the water with cleansing energy. Shungite water has an antihistamine effect, as it helps cure burns, cuts, callosities, arthritis, osteoarthritis and varicose veins. Simple mouthwash with Shungite water will cure sore throat, stomach aches, colds and tonsillitis.
Shungite is so important that one day it might well be worth more than gold.
**It is recommended to place Shugnite stones in the sun every 6 months.**

Well, there are certainly many claims there for this rock.

But to start with, I'd like to know a bit more about the frequency of its vibration, how it was measured, what determines the frequency and what the frequency is in Hertz - or any other unit. Then perhaps I understand how it "will assist one to adapt and adjust to the new frequencies presented to the earth sphere..."

This British company should know that the UK Advertising Standards Authority require that an advert be "Legal, Decent, Honest, Truthful."

It's all just a list of unreferenced, unverified claims. Just one example; they won't be allowed to say "Shungite molecules slow down the growth of cancer cells and can slow down the AIDS virus" without evidence.

Are the claims meant to be taken literally?

While I do not doubt for a minute that certain stones / crystals particularly have very interesting properties in regards to the way energy might be transmitted, receive, or augmented; an example would be quartz - can work as a high frequency energy receiver and amplifier, transforming invisible energy into lower frequencies, such as a radio receiver; all that said, I sure would like to see sources, references, or even the theoretical logic behind some of the claims made, or at least about how the particular stone would "work". I somewhat understand how a quartz could "work" in certain regards in the metaphysical based around some known science. But a reference for claims for any stones would be nice.

Making claims like "slows cancer growth" are pretty wild and if true, there has to be some research somewhere that could verify this ... but I haven't found any.

At the same time, placebo can be up to ~40% effective ... ;)

There are a number of misconceptions around quartz.

I don't believe it has any particularly unusual properties, other than being piezoelectric, i.e. bend it and if correctly cut a voltage appears across it. Apply a voltage across it and it bends. That's it. It doesn't amplify or detect; it's not a source of 'energy'. It probably doesn't even focus a person's chakra...

There are other crystals that do are piezoelectric, but quartz is the best known.

This very useful property means that if you apply an alternating voltage of the correct frequency across a quarts crystal it will vibrate at its resonant frequency, usually between 50 kHz and 30 MHz plus harmonics. The important thing about it is that the crystal can be cut so that its oscillating frequency is very precise, hence the use of quartz oscillators in clocks, computers, radio transmitters and receivers, and many other devices.

These devices do not rely on any metaphysical properties of quarts, just well established physics. Sorry if I've shattered anyone's beliefs.

However... quartz may be what causes earthquake lights. When tremendous pressures build up just before an earthquake, the vast quantities of quartz-bearing rock may have huge voltages across them, sufficient to ionize air causing it to glow in spheres.

If you want a material that really does amplify and detect, try germanium, silicon or gallium arsenide.

Being a former rock hound (FWIW), I have never heard of it. In looking at its mineralogy, it does sound like a strange one. It is not a silicate or an ore mineral, rather it seems to be mostly carbon and is non-crystalline. Seems to be petrogenitcally related to oil, petrified and metamorphosed oil bearing sedimentary deposits.

Apparently it does have some special properties as highlighted in red below. Sounds similar to charcoal as a filter for removing particulates from water.

Per wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shungite

Shungite is a black, lustrous, non-crystalline mineraloid consisting of more than 98 weight percent of carbon. It was first described from a deposit near Shun'ga village, in Karelia, Russia, from where it gets its name. Shungite has been reported to contain fullerenes.

Formation

Shungite has been regarded as an example of abiogenic petroleum formation,[4] but its biological origin has now been confirmed.[3]

As taken from source [3] indicated above:
A giant Palaeoproterozoic deposit of shungite in NW Russia: genesis and practical applications

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S016913680300043X

Abstract

Occurrences of 2.0 Ga, mature organic material from the Lake Onega area, NW Russia, constitute one of the most remarkable accumulations of organic carbon from the Palaeoproterozoic. The deposit occurs in a 1000-m sedimentary-volcanic succession developed over an area of 9000 km2 with an estimated total carbon reserve exceeding 25×1010 tonnes. The organic material occurs in the form of the mineraloid, shungite, which is a black, non-crystalline, semi-metallic material that contains >98 wt.% C.

The shungite-bearing rocks were accumulated within a volcanic continental rift setting, in a non-euxinic, brackish-water, lagoonal environment developed on the rifted margin of the Archaean craton. The occurrences of shungite-bearing rocks represent a combination of a petrified oil field, petrified organosiliceous diapirs and oil spills. These are exemplified by three types of deposit: (i) in situ stratified, (ii) migrated diapirs and (iii) redeposited clastic. In situ stratified deposits are composed of metamorphosed oil shales (<50 wt.% C), rocks containing autochthonous kerogen residue and allochthonous organic matter (50–75 wt.% C) and migrated bitumen, originally liquid hydrocarbons (>80 wt.% C). Diapiric deposits form non-stratified, cupolas or mushroom-shaped bodies composed of shungite containing 35–75 wt.% SiO2 and 20–55 wt.% C. These are considered to represent organosiliceous rocks, originally gels or mud. The shungite rocks show abundant shrinkage cracks, cryptic fluidal textures and brecciation caused by multiple fluidisation processes. The current data are consistent with either diapiric or mud-volcanic origins. Occurrences of clastic shungite are hosted by lacustrine volcanoclastic greywackes deposited from turbiditic flows. Shungite occurs in rocks as <1 mm to 20 cm clasts of lustrous shungite that probably represent redeposited, oxidised oil derived from oil spills.

Shungite has a heterogeneous molecular structure in which carbon occurs as 10 nm globules irregularly distributed within carbon showing no structure. The unusual physicochemical and structural properties of shungite are used in diverse industrial and environmental applications including metallurgy, water purification, thermolysis and organosynthesis of cyclic hydrocarbons. Shungite is an effective sorbent for removal of organic and inorganic substances, pathogenic bacteria and heavy metals from contaminated water.

As our understanding of physics grows, it replaces previous understandings of metaphysics. The two are different perspectives of like phenomena (whilst metaphysics contains more extrapolation and theory). We still have a lot to learn about the nature of our reality, which means there is much we don't know properly or don't know at all.

And you are correct, I confused silicon with quartz. If you consider that the frequency spectrums of energy that we understand are incomplete, (which only human arrogance says we know all there is to know at any given point), then it leaves a lot of probabilities for qualities / uses, and understanding of a lot of things around us we take for granted - not just crystals.

My 2 cents ;)

in the end it depends on resonance. some crystals help some people but may actually be harmful for others, or comepletely useless. as long as a person can not really feel if he/she is in resonance with it and if the crystal is generative and not degenerative then it's pointless to spend money on any fancy stone because someone else said it helps against everything from cancer to mothers-in-law.
