Our gentle daughter wafts through life itself as if a pristine meadow appreciating beauty in all its forms. She enjoys the trees the birds and flowers all, as they are all perfect. She adores the furry animals, even the bumblebees and turtles and especially loves her brothers and sisters each and every one every single day.
Cute as they are the animals scurry away when approached, denying our precious daughter's warm touch. Her human brothers and sisters are never so discreet. They interact constantly playing, teaching, challenging and even grooming each other, for that is their nature. They are all innocence incarnate. For they are all human.
Then some asshole installs a mirror in the meadow.
When viewed from most angles, this quite obviously organized device may be seen for what it is - a construct. Something not natural. Boys and girls both see this very clearly - instinctively and universally.
How might innocent, uncorrupted human children respond to such a thing? A thorough sensory appraisal of the sparkling mystery which stands before you? Some extra attention to the face perhaps? The boys are naturally suspicious and protective, the girls especially inquisitive and unassuming. Each embody traits of the other in varying degrees. They are all innocence incarnate!
And then the inevitable discovery occurs perfectly naturally as you reach out to the glass with an innocent human finger and discover the truth.
It's certainly not you, it may or may not be alive, it may or may not be the same thing our brothers and sisters see when they look at us. You have seen something like this before, this self-image, yet the image was always fluid and broken - obviously not a true reflection - if there even is such a thing. Your gentle human touch would break the spell every time!
This is something different!
You, as a child know that you cannot possibly know how you appear in the eyes of others. Why should you care anyway? After all, only others look at you! Quite naturally then, in our previously perfect world your brothers and sisters were, in fact responsible for your grooming. That was a huge part of your interaction with each other still graciously enjoyed by some lucky humans to this day. Anyway...
This new thing is so fascinating! Our gentle daughters see an opportunity to make the world more beautiful while our brave sons will endeavor to understand the magic of the thing itself and wrest it into service of well, their beloved sisters most likely, for that is the nature of human men, all of whom know that human women are the real power in this world.
This "thing" is naught but sparkle and scream. Distraction is it's very nature! And distraction makes deception a welcome guest!
But only if you look it in the eye! You see my perfectly innocent fellow divine creators, when viewed from most angles, the un natural nature of the glass is obvious to all.
There is only a very narrow perspective oh I don't know probably 33° or so that would enable one to see the reflection of one's own eye in this "great mysterious thing."

One might easily mistake one's own greatness for that of the thing before you, for surely you are great for you are human and therefore you are all that is good.
How else could you possibly recognize greatness if it did not live within you?
Kubrick was a pussy.
I love all of you!
Each and every one of you, every single day!
Know thyself for thou art all that is good. Anything else is something else entirely.
