How the MUFON TV show might shape public perception

It just occured to me after watching the new MUFON show that the creators of the show are in a very influential position and can have an impact on how the mainstream views UFO's. The cliff hanger before commercial break was "how UFOs almost caused WW3." Wonder where the show will lead in future episodes?

The show was about space based weapons so perhaps it colored my view.

Military contracters probably loved it...;)

There are a number of flaws in many productions pertaining to this subject. First the term UFO is only one of many terms that can be referred to as unknown. The word flying doesn't seem to fit the phenomena. There are preconceived ideas associated with the term UFO, this in itself causes problems and can be seen as a negative aspect of the subject. You have to be subtle when dealing with anything unknown in regards to the framework of the masses as a whole, many of whom know nothing regarding this matter except what has been dramatized by the media or shown in films as entertainment. Only deal with facts, not hypothesis, nor witness statements without any verifiable evidence. Use official documents including an understanding on how unknown objects are dealt with by the military that penetrated their countries airspace. Use military pilot statements and those whom the masses would associated with as trustworthy and credible. The alien band wagon isn't going to work for those that are in the mainstream scientific community nor the masses in general, its too much of a gap from what they see has a normal part of their lives.

I haven't seen it, but it won't make any difference, n when they bring skeptics on this type of show it makes it into a joke. UFO skepticism is a complete joke. And MUFON is infiltrated at high levels as Kerry Cassidy has said.

Thanks for sharing that. Do you happen to know where that comment was made? I would agree and have shared about it way back when first becoming a member of Avalon. Thre are some very good field investigators in that organization but somewhere you know that someone is watching the case load...

Thre are some very good field investigators in that organization but somewhere you know that someone is watching the case load...I don't know where Kerry revealed that tidbit of information, but I believe it is pretty well known by those who follow UFO groups. I wrote about an email I got from Elaine Douglass (while I was a member of MUFON) in the Avalon thread "New-Release--MUFON-EXPOSED.." (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?68923-New-Release--MUFON-EXPOSED..-) and I then posted a link to a CNN report of the same information I received titled "Elaine Douglass, The Gagged-for-life Star Team Confidentiality Agreement." Further, the Hangar 1 show states in their opening statements that MUFON is for the first time "releasing" the 70,000 UFO cases they have--ostensibly secreted away for years. Interesting, coming from an organization that claims to not be affiliated with any government agency and all about applying the "scientific method" to UFO investigations to inform the public of the truth about UFOs.

Ok, so they may be a day late and a dollar short, but I must say I'm relatively impressed with the approach and information being disseminated in the Hangar 1 series. They're not bringing on the usual "skeptic" clowns who try to make light of the matter and generally insult the intelligence of any thinking person with their, more often than not, ridiculous and foolish explanations offered up as "scientific" debunking of an event. Maybe MUFON has since been infiltrated by people at the top with a conscience and integrity. One can only hope. ;)

And I do not mean to cast aspersions on the MUFON field investigators who do do good honest work. The problem isn't with the field investigators, but with the leadership and those who siphoned-off and kept the really good cases from the public.
