ike was obsessed with becoming Enlightened since childhood -- for him that was the point of living. He knew from an early age that the voice in his head wasn't him. He had some terrifying experiences of no-self which led to panic attacks and depression.

Eventually he decided that he needed to drop the desire for enlightenment and somehow fix his life. And then, after a time, he was much happier. He then had the experience that ended his search for enlightenment.

'There's just the impersonal flow of awareness being everything without exception, no way to get it and no way to get out of it. It basks in the ordinary and mundane as well as the fireworks.'"

something similar is happening in my life now. there is a voice. a very knowledgeable voice. i find myself in this type of situation frequently these days. Sometimes, I am very much more knowledgeable in a situation than I actually am, especially in school. I can transfigure myself, so to speak, into explaining things that I really have no knowledge or understanding of. which is quite weird, because i cannot do it here........ groan, cuz I wish I could:p...... as it turns out, my inner self knows when higher selves are around giving me guidance to keep my mouth quiet....which shows me, that everyone here, is definitively a part of me. nice. i really like that! higher thinking!!!!

Everything we have been taught from childhood, everything we have learned in school, everything we "think" we know... is wrong. We are Immortal Spirit Beings, of the Highest Order, and this "body" is NOT, who we really are. This body is just a suit that we wear, to have this "Physical" experience. And, we possess the ability to transend this body and return to Spirit, at will, anytime we wish.
