We are all aware on alternate sites how big corporation buys up and buries new
inventions that conflict with their interests and profits , but it goes far further
than that to many benign ideas and stifling innovation......

Amazon has been awarded a patent that details a system of taking photos against a
white background, stock image pictured. The files even explain how best to set up a
photography studio. Amazon has been criticised for patenting a generic shot used
regularly by photographers

Our corporations are beyond patent-happy, to the point now where companies own
hundreds of thousands of patents on very basic ideas to the detriment of
humanity's progress. 3M just secured its 100,000th patent; Amazon just patented
taking an image of something on a white background; Nike patents hundreds
of "inventions" every year; now someone is trying to lay claim to owning
podcasting. This MINE MINE MINE mentality of our corporations could spell disaster.
The Resident discusses.

This is truly the worst. I do not want to dwell on the depressing feelings I get from knowing that I live in such an assinine a society where this is legal and even necessary. I can't even continue thinking about it...

I guess (before watching) Monsanto

Does the video talk about patents "classified" for national security purposes?

The Resident discusses. This is the history of the world, OWNERSHIP! In my heart, nobody owns anything, it's just temporary, like the body, How can you own anything, like thoughts? where do they originate, an idea? a plot for a book? is it really yours? can you prove where it came from? Also this ownership conundrum creates competition which divides people.

For me ownership is a no no, apart from the body which is the temporary vehicle of the spirit. And that would be residence, not ownership!

Thank you for the post. Love peace and joy to you all!

So consider a world without trademark, copyright, or patents. It would still be a world with innovation — perhaps far more of it. And yes, there would still be profits due to those who are entrepreneurial. Perhaps there would be a bit less profit for litigators and IP lawyers — but is this a bad thing?
