Or is it just a last chance for the NSA to pick up everyone's eBay password, before eBay enables better encryption?

Why have an old set of passwords, where there may be variance...when you can have all new ones, as an enforced rollover guarantees the viewing window?

Just another thought, just another angle.

I received a fake Amazon email on May 15th. They wanted updates to credit card information.
When you click on the link, it’s obvious. (see sample #2)

My guess is that people with harried lives or pay no attention to detail, got caught in the net: “If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to temporally suspend your account.”

I just closed both Ebay and Paypal. Decided to use snail mail for as much as possible.

multiple PA people said they received phishing attempts in email this week targeting Paypal

i think it has something to do with the political crap storm between USA and China.

we call them hackers and look what happens, magically everything is being hacked.

who knows if it's our people or theirs, another Liberty incident

Hi Guys,

Totally agree with Carmody. To me it smells weird, same as the famous heartbleed bug. Ah these crazy bad hackers, hacking everything, stealing our passwords but then we find nothing coming out of it. From slightly other angle, to me it looks like another bs panic alert to fit it agenda of 'we need new Internet where you will be only able to log on using your fingerprint' etc...then obviously nobody will be able to steal your password right? My personal verdict - not changing password. If something wrong happens to your account with any provider, you can/should contact their fraud team and claim account take over. They have technology to investigate your claim and refund you if its real one.

Fingerprint is the new black. Our ID-cards (Belgium) now require fingerprints and they are trying to make us like the idea of a "future" where we can pay with fingerprints instead of bank cards.
