View Full Version : Anti-Semitic political candidates in Ukraine doomed at the ballot box

The following article is very informative because it illuminates things as they really are in Ukraine.

President Putin Has Called Ukraine a Hotbed of Anti-Semites. It's Not.
Openly anti-Semitic political candidates in today’s Ukraine are doomed at the ballot box.
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/05/140530-ukraine-jews-poroshenko-putin-pushilin-right-sector-lviv-zissels/?google_editors_picks=true

Here are some highlights from this article.

That the 2 far right candidates in that country's most recent election each only received 1% of the vote"flew in the face of Russian President Vladimir Putin's claims that Jews in Ukraine—who number between 100,000 and 300,000—are under threat and that the country is a hotbed of "fascists and anti-Semites." This was one argument Putin used to justify Moscow's annexation of Ukraine's southern region of Crimea and the pressure he continued to exert on the country."

But here are the facts:

Political Poison

"Anti-Semitism is something Ukrainians on either side of the political divide accuse their enemies of, but it's a label they themselves assiduously avoid. Jew baiting is political poison—openly anti-Semitic candidates are repeatedly punished at the ballot box."

http://images.nationalgeographic.com/wpf/media-content/photos/000/802/cache/80233_990x742-cb1401373363.jpg
"Jewish men in Zhytomyr, 80 miles east of Kiev, read from the Torah. The men wear prayer shawls, or tallit, and on their heads, tefillin, or phylacteries, boxes containing a holy prayer."

At any rate, when it comes to anti-antisemitism, the country of Ukraine offers us an excellent model wrt it being a country which was once rampant with that cancer but has, over the course of many years now, transformed into a place where Jews and Non-Jews live together, side by side in peace and harmony.

"Above all, what seems to characterize Jewish life in Ukraine at this moment is a sense of hope.

The Maidan movement, in which a number of Jews were passionate participants, was not just about eradicating corruption and building democratic institutions. For many Ukrainians, it was about creating a new sense of national identity, one based on citizenship, not ethnicity.

While I was in Lviv, I met some young Jewish residents of the city—over pizza and Cokes—who said there'd been a noticeable transformation in Ukrainian society in recent years.

"People are starting to talk about the Holocaust, take an interest in Jewish things," said Olexander Nazar, the head of Lviv's Sholem Aleichem Society for Jewish Culture, who had just taken part in a Days of Yiddish and Jewish Culture festival. "It's just the beginning, but things are changing, like when molecules start to bump up against each other."

"We're patriots of our country," Nazar said."

(An outspoken Jew writes about Jewish politics):

(Opponents) “are not driven primarily by anti-Jewish sentiment … (It is) A time for reflection"

Did the Jews Lose Europe?

By Gilad Atzmon

Following the surge of right wing parties in Europe’s Parliamentary election, Forward, the once-progressive Jewish outlet asks, “Have the Jews Lost Europe?” The tone of this question implies that until just a few days ago, at least some Jews believed that Europe was, in part, a ‘Jewish property.’ Such views were not baseless; Jewish Lobbies have dominated British and French policies by means of aggressive lobbying (CFI, LFI, CRIF etc’).

Following the European poll, Dave Rich, deputy director of the ultra Right Wing Jewish para-military Community Security Trust, is concerned. He detects a growing resentment of Jewish politics in Europe. His article in the Forward’s openly examines whether Jews have lost their grip on the European continent...

. . .

Rich quotes British commentator Paul Mason who contends that, “The Euro project was supposed to make sure the continent could never again go fascist. If European legislatures are now crawling with fascists, what was the point of that?”...

. .
Rich concludes by arguing that European Right Wing politics “are not driven primarily by anti-Jewish sentiment … And Europe’s Jews do not need our American friends to remind us where that can lead.” Rich is correct here, the surge in political awareness of the European underclass and impoverished middle class is not driven ‘primarily’ by anti Jewish feelings, however, increasingly, political commentators identify European malaise with Jewish and Zionist politics. The European new Left was badly beaten in last week polls due, in large part, to its Jerusalemite nature and affiliation. The new left in Europe is driven by kosher ideology, it is dominated by Jewish lobbies such as LFI (Britain) and CRIF (France) and if this is not enough, the entire progressive dissent discourse is closely identified with Jewish interests and is largely funded, directly and indirectly, by liberal Zionists such as George Soros and his Open Society Institutes.

Bearing all that in mind, the political shift in Europe carries a clear message to Jewish institutions. Now’s the time for immediate and deep reflection

Guy Fox, I get the sense that the Jewish issue had very little bearing on the recent elections. The far right are nationalists who would like some control over Islamic people with radically different cultures flooding into their countries

That article was written by Gilan Atzmon.
Are you familiar with him?

For me, a key part was this:
"... not driven ‘primarily’ by anti Jewish feelings, however, increasingly, political commentators identify European malaise with Jewish and Zionist politics. The European new Left was badly beaten in last week polls due, in large part, to its Jerusalemite nature and affiliation..."

What is he talking about here?
I think it is mainly the idea that Multi-culturalism, which is mainly a Jewish-DRIVEN issue, is destroying what remains of traditional European culture.

Atzmon is not the only one concerned with this issue.

Redice is all over it. And I agree with them that I have become an opponent of Politically correct attitudes and "weaponized words" like:
+ Anti-Semite ! (used to attack anyone who is an opponent to Zionist Jewish superiority claims)
+ Rascist ! (used to attack anyone who dares to stand up for the White race, and traditional European culture)

>see: http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?71551-The-Crucial-Battle-against-Political-Correctness--a-new-trend-

I think it is time to wake-up, and insist that these words be de-weaponized.
We need to have many serious and intelligent conversations about Issues being Driven by Zionists, if we are going to save our historic culture and the future of Western countries

Here's Barbara Spectre talking about the change that "Europe needs to make"

Look around the web, and see how much Multi-culturalism you will find in Israel
Example:

Jews think it is "good for Europe", but NOT good for Israel.
This dangerous double standard needs exposing

Here's some Truth from an outspoken Jewish critic of Zionism:

etXAm-OylQQ

Miko is just one of the many modern day Jews against Zionism and the state of Israel, and with the information he delivers in this astounding talk, it is not difficult to see why more and more Jews are rejecting Zionism and calling for the dismantling of Israel. It is a true eye-opener for anyone who has for too long been blinded by the fake misinformation given by the mainstream media, and the truths come straight from the heartland where he has spent many years documenting the real story.

Jews think this and Jews think that....oh dear. The Israeli's have had a disproportionate say in global politics, but they simply don't control everything. What about the role of Saudi Arabia? They have WAY more money and it feeds back into the global Anglo-American banking cartel. What about the Golden Triad and Mexican drug cartels laundering money through Western banks?

When you use the term, "Jews" you are treading on precarious ground. Most Israelis dislike their govt as much as we do.

I am not anti-Jewish,

But I am against an agenda which I see many Jewish folk pushing:
That of Multi-culturalism in all countries where they live APART from Israel.

Let them launch it in Israel first, and show the whole world how well it can work,
before they start pushing it elsewhere.

Meantime, the pushback against these policies is beginning to gain force in Europe as
people see how destructive it has been.

"... We've heard their side on everything broadcast through monopolies of entertainment and medias..."

Haha.
One anti-Zionist poster I know summarized his "pushback strategy" like this:

"I plan to pitch my Tent 'in their faces', and Live there"

(he used this image - which he thought some might find amusing):

( link inactive - it shows a tent with:
"Anti-Semitic just means you dared to oppose Zionist supremacy",
written on the side of the Tent)

That's a bit more aggressive than I am willing to be, but I do think that the days of people being cowed
because they are called "Anti-Semitic", ... or "Rascist" ... are ending.

*(Not all Zionists are created equal. Some are more dangerous than others, and some are also non-Jewist. So the "blanket" opinion on the Tent may be going a bit far. But I do like that it undermines a weaponised word.)

I feel multi-culturalism, as implemented in Europe, appears to me to be more stupid than anything else. And I think the creation of a Jewish state in the Middle East was idiotic. They should have created a Jewish state in Canada somewhere--Saskatchewan would have made a wonderful holy land.

I just generally think this planet is a circus of greed idiocy and I have nothing but deep contempt for all of the war loving clowns running the big top. I sympathize with your point if view, don't entirely disagree with you but feel you've left too many groups out.

Ramzpaul - Hour 1 - Multicultural Chaos, Peaceful Nationalism & White Guilt
May 26, 2014
Ramzpaul is known for his iconoclastic YouTube show that mocks cultural Marxism, mostly satire that pokes fun at the establishment. In the first hour, we'll discuss why ethnicity is important and how it stands in the way of the elite. We laugh at stupid things fanatically politically correct people say and the absurd notion of a one size fits all approach. Ramzpaul explains why he's a nationalist for everyone and how it can solve conflicts. We'll talk about foisted White guilt and the ridiculousness of "White privilege." Paul shares what he believes is at the root of "White guilt." In the second hour, we'll discuss how multiculturalism is creating unnecessary conflict. Cultural Marxists are waging war on reality, pushing their religion of egalitarianism. Ramzpaul speaks about nationalism as a way to preserve diversity. Later, we discuss being brave to speak out against the lies and hypocrisy and to stop self censorship in fear of being labeled the "r" word. At the end, Ramzpaul shares his opinion on how multiculturalism will play out.

I think it is mainly the idea that Multi-culturalism, which is mainly a Jewish-DRIVEN issue, is destroying what remains of traditional European culture.

I agree that multi-culturalism, like many memes, is being used to bend, control and manipulate humanity, in part by destroying and dividing against each other various nations and cultures.

I don't agree that those doing the bending are any large racial, national, cultural, religious, et al group of humanity.

Though I enjoy more than many speculating as to who are these "real bastards" messing with us, I don't actually know. I do suppose that in number, they are far fewer than any significant group of ordinary humanity.

I agree that a case can be made (and doubtless can also be disputed) that an inordinately large propotion of the "real bastards" are Jewish, but I would claim that their apparent Jewishness is usually superficial, a convenient cover, and that their number is far less than the number of Jewish people.

The bastards likely find that one useful aspect of often appearing to be Jewish is that it seeds the distracting and polarizing objection of being anti-Semitic.

Please ... let us not make the bastards job easier for them than is necessary. I recommend finding various names and descriptions for said bastards that rather more clearly distinguishes them from, avoids confusing them with, any of the many large groups of ordinary humans. For example, I might refer to Zionist Israeli leaders, not to all Jews nor to all Israelis when condemning some dastardly act of the bastards that I think these particular "people" had a major hand in promulgating (e.g., 9/11.)

Israel: World must not recognize Palestinian govt

http://vid.alarabiya.net/images/2014/06/01/46cc901d-6c0c-4909-ac32-d03135b75ce2/46cc901d-6c0c-4909-ac32-d03135b75ce2_16x9_600x338.jpg

Sunday, 1 June 2014

Israel’s prime minster on Sunday warned against any international rush to recognize a Palestinian government due to be announced under a unity pact between the Fatah and Hamas Islamist groups.

Israel and the West classify Hamas as a terrorist organization and have no official dealings with the movement, which advocates the destruction of the Jewish state.

Meeting Saturday with French peace activists in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where his limited self-rule government is based, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he expects a joint government of his Fatah party and Hamas Islamists to be announced on June 2.

"We will announce the government the day after tomorrow, it will be formed of technocrats and independents,” he said.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BpBRPXLIIAE0Die.jpg

None of the unity government's members would belong to either the Western-backed Fatah, which rules the Israeli-occupied West Bank, or Islamist Hamas, which holds sway in the Gaza Strip, Abbas said.

The formation of the unity of the government would be a completion to a unity deal the two sides agreed to last month.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said he could not confirm that all the details would be completed by Monday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday urged the world not to recognize the planned move by the Palestinian sides.

"I call on all responsible elements in the international community not to rush to recognize a Palestinian government which has Hamas as part of it and which is dependent on Hamas," Netanyahu, who has said such an administration would be a front for the Islamist group, told his cabinet.

"Hamas is a terrorist organization that calls for Israel's destruction, and the international community must not embrace it. That would not bolster peace, it would strengthen terror," Netanyahu said in public remarks at the cabinet meeting.

Both Hamas and Fatah see benefits to a unity pact, though disagreements have blocked them from achieving such a government for years. The deal would heal a rift that opened between Fatah and Hamas in 2007 when Hamas seized control of Gaza.

Under a strict blockade imposed by neighbors Israel and Egypt, Hamas struggles to prop up Gaza's economy and pay its 40,000 employees. Abbas, for his part, wants to shore up his domestic support since the collapse of U.S.-brokered peace talks with Israel last month.
Israel Threatens Boycott

Israel suspended negotiations with Abbas as soon as he announced a unity deal was in the works on April 23. It has said it would impose economic sanctions against any joint government.

Abbas said Israel "informed us today [Saturday] they would boycott us if we announced the government." He did elaborate on which measures Israel has threatened to take.

A Palestinian official said Israel had denied requests by three Gaza Palestinians expected to be named as ministers to attend the new government’s swearing-in ceremony in the West Bank.

Israel withheld tax revenues from Abbas last month, in retaliation for Abbas signing accords with international organizations, a step Israel said undermined peace talks.

In his remarks on Saturday, Abbas said a joint government with Hamas would continue to abide by his policy of recognizing Israel, though the Islamist group insists it would not change its own policy of rejecting Israel's existence.

Abbas has been keen to assure Western donor countries he will remain the key Palestinian decision-maker and security coordination between his forces and Israel will continue.

Abbas asked Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on Thursday to head the new unity government, though Fatah and Hamas still disagreed about other cabinet appointments.

In a move seen as boosting control over his party ahead of forming a unity government, Abbas ousted five senior party members on Saturday seen as allied with a leading rival, Mohammed Dahlan, the Palestinian news agency WAFA, said." link (http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/middle-east/2014/06/01/Unified-Palestinian-cabinet-to-be-announced-Monday.html)

Israel denies Gaza unity government ministers entrance to West Bank

Israel has denied three future Palestinian Authority ministers from the Gaza Strip entry to the West Bank ahead of the unveiling of a new unity government, public radio said on Sunday.

The head of Israel's military administration in the Palestinian territories, Major General Yoav Mordechai, had informed the Palestinians that the three would not be permitted to cross from Gaza to the West Bank, the radio said.

Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas said on Saturday that the line-up of a unity government would be announced Monday, following a delay over who would head the foreign ministry.

He also said Israel had informed the Palestinians that it would "boycott the government."

"Israel wants to punish us because we have agreed with Hamas on this government," he said.

And he also warned in remarks late on Saturday that the Palestinians would respond to every punitive step taken by Israel in respect to the new government.

The three ministers elect had applied to cross from Gaza to the West Bank on Thursday, but their application was immediately rejected, a senior Palestinian official responsible for coordinating exits and entries told AFP.

"We sent the application in on Thursday and explained that these officials are to be sworn in as ministers in Ramallah, but Israel immediately rejected the application," he told AFP on condition of anonymity.

COGAT, the Israeli defense ministry unit responsible for Palestinian civilian coordination, refused to comment on the matter, as did the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. link (http://english.al-akhbar.com/content/israel-denies-entrance-west-bank-gaza-unity-government-ministers?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AlAkhbarEnglish+%28Al+Akhbar+English%29)

New members of unity govt named

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Seventeen members of a new Palestinian unity government to be announced Monday have been named by well-informed political sources.

They include at least nine new members, while at least eight will remain at their posts from the prior government.

Rami Hamdallah will remain prime minister, according to the sources, and Ziad Abu Amr will be the deputy prime minister and minister of culture.

New members include Mamoun Abu Shahla as minister of labor, Mufeed Hasayneh as minister of public works and housing, and Yusef Idees as minister of endowments and religious affairs.

Nayef Khalaf will be minister of local governance and Riyad al-Maliki will remain the minister of foreign affairs.

Salim al-Saqqa has been named minister of justice, Khawla al-Shakhsheer as minister of education and higher education, and Rula Maaya as minister of tourism.

Allam Moussa will be minister of telecommunication, Shawqu al-Aiysa will be minister of agriculture, and Wael Dweikat will be minister of transportation.

Muhammad Mustafa will remain as deputy prime minister for economic affairs, and Shukri Bishara will stay on as minister of finance.

Furthermore, Jawad Awwad will stay as minister of health, and Adnan al-Husseini is expected to remain minister of Jerusalem affairs.

The unity government will be sworn in on Monday at 1 p.m. in the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, a PLO executive committee member said earlier.

Wasel Abu Yusef told Ma’an that the president’s office sent invitations to PLO executive committee members and ministers to attend the ceremony.

Abu Yusef added that the obstacles that faced the unity government were overcome, as Hamas agreed that al-Malki would stay on as foreign minister, and the issue on the ministry of detainees was resolved.

Hours earlier, a Hamas spokesperson said that no official agreement had been reached to announce the government of national unity, a day after Abbas said it would be formed by Monday.

Sami Abu Zuhri said in a statement that news reports about the possible announcement of the unity government this week were "unilateral," stressing that "there is still disagreement over some points that need to be addressed."

The Hamas official's statements highlight ongoing disputes in the effort to form the national reconciliation government that could potentially end seven years of political division between the two largest Palestinian political parties.

Abu Zuhri said that central to the ongoing disputes is that the Hamas movement continues to have strong reservations about Fatah's insistence on selecting al-Maliki as the minister of foreign affairs.

"Al-Maliki is undesirable from a nationalistic point of view as he used to have very negative stances, especially towards the Gaza Strip," Abu Zuhri said.

Abu Zuhri did, however, point to Hamas' willingness to compromise on the issue, saying that the agreement will move forward regardless and the government will be announced even if al-Maliki remains a cabinet minister.

Abu Zuhri also said that Hamas disagrees with Fatah's suggestion to eliminate the ministry of prisoners’ affairs.

"The prisoners' issue is a national cause which is not restricted to Hamas, and the calls to eliminate the ministry of prisoners' affairs came at the wrong time," he said.

Abu Zuhri highlighted that Hamas would invite all Palestinian parties to a meeting Monday to discuss the prisoners' issue.

An April 23 agreement between Hamas and the PLO paved the way for the formation of a government of national unity for the first time in seven years, but Israel has strongly opposed the deal on the basis that Hamas rejects its right to exist.

Abbas, however, has repeatedly pointed out that the national unity government will adhere to previous PA and PLO policies which recognize Israel.

Israel, in turn, has never recognized the Palestinians' right to exist, and has been reluctant in the past to negotiate with the PA because it did not represent all of the Palestinians, only those in the West Bank, since 2006. link (http://maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=701510)

Israeli warplanes raided targets in the Gaza Strip Monday after Palestinians fired two rockets in as many days, an army spokesman said, hours before a new government is to take office in Ramallah.

The “two terror sites [were] in the central and southern Gaza Strip”, the spokesman said. “Direct hits were confirmed.”

He did not give further details

The new Palestinian government will have 17 ministers, five of them from Gaza, and will be headed by Rami Hamdallah who will also hold the interior portfolio.

Islamists Hamas and the Western-backed Palestine Liberation Organization, which is dominated by president Mahmud Abbas’s secular Fatah party, signed a surprise reconciliation agreement in April to end years of rivalry.

Since the start of the year about 150 rockets have rained on Israeli territory, but the border between Gaza and Israel has been relatively calm for the past weeks.

Palestinian militants fired the last rocket before the weekend attacks on May 23. link (http://betinews.com/?p=402)

The "anti-semites". What are they Anti ?

The term " Semite " has a regional connection, - but is more of a common
culture and language amongst a diverse population,
mainly in arabia, asia and africa.

Some sources :
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Semitic

Semitic (sɪˈmɪtɪk) or less commonly Shemitic
-. (Languages) a branch or subfamily of the Afro-Asiatic family of languages that includes Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, Amharic, and such ancient languages as Akkadian and Phoenician
- (Languages) denoting, relating to, or belonging to this group of languages
- (Peoples) denoting, belonging to, or characteristic of any of the peoples speaking a Semitic language, espescialy the Jews or the Arabs.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/semite

Definition of SEMITE
- : a member of any of a number of peoples of ancient southwestern Asia including the Akkadians, Phoenicians, Hebrews, and Arabs
-b : a descendant of these peoples
- : a member of a modern people speaking a Semitic language

http://global.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/534157/Semite

Semite: Person speaking one of a group of related languages, presumably derived from a common language, Semitic (see Semitic languages). The term came to include Arabs, Akkadians, Canaanites, some Ethiopians, and Aramaean tribes including Hebrews. Semitic tribes migrated from the Arabian Peninsula, beginning c. 2500 bc, to the Mediterranean coast, Mesopotamia, and the Nile River delta. In Phoenicia, they became seafarers. In Mesopotamia, they blended with the civilization of Sumer. The Hebrews settled at last with other Semites in Palestine.

- So.
Not only are the zionists trying to steal the land,
they are trying to steal the language as well.
( they think in the(ir) story, not the truth ...).
They are the true anti-semites, antagonising
most of the real semite groups in the area.
Sterilizing the real ethiopian jews coming to
Israel for refuge and salvage, and destiny.
What a shame .

But I digress.

Language have amazing power.
( in the beginning there was )
Now
Words like Anti-semitic
and Conspiracy-theorist
can have a huge and often
unfounded impact on discusson.
You know .

- What an irony .!.
(would be funny if it was not so tragic)

Be well, aware and awake.

Concerning Israel, the American Jewish community is ignorant

By Rabbi Bruce Warshal

4:38 p.m. EDT, June 2, 2014

The dictionary defines "ignorant" as lacking knowledge (in a particular area or matter). Many bright people are ignorant about a particular subject. I plead ignorance about things scientific, but I am bright enough to accept the conclusions of 99 percent of scientists who tell me that we have a problem with climate change. I am bright enough to know what I don't know. But because of my lack of knowledge you won't find me writing about scientific issues.

Admittedly, the American Jewish community is pretty bright and all of our children are above average. I know this because I have never spoken to a Jewish parent who has not told me about his or her precocious offspring. But I am sorry to report that we are atrociously ignorant about Israel. This may shock you because every Jew that I know has an opinion about Israel and how it should react to the Palestinian quest for statehood.

The problem is that a very large percentage of American Jews form these opinions based on an emotional attachment and not upon knowledge of history or even current events. In short, they are ignorant, even though as individuals they may be very bright. The question is: why are they ignorant?

I think that a good portion of this ignorance is built into the human condition in that there is the natural inclination to ignore defects in someone we love. We American Jews love Israel and we just either ignore or whitewash any defects. To the contrary, I get emails lauding all the wonderful scientific advances there, the number of Nobel Prize winners from our beloved little country and other such accolades (most of which are true). We are proud parents of a precocious offspring.

With this mindset American Jewry remains ignorant of facts on the ground. In my last column I wrote about how all countries, for better or worse, utilize terrorism at some time during their history, and the fact that Hamas has used terrorism is no excuse for not opening negotiations with them. I referred readers to Israeli historians who have documented Israel's use of terrorism against Palestinians during its War of Independence. A reader wrote to me that when she read these historians and tried to share this information, her relatives and friends vehemently denied that it could be true, telling her to, "stop reading such garbage." They prefer to remain ignorant.

This denial of reality is exacerbated by our Jewish victim mentality. As a legacy of centuries of persecution culminating in the Holocaust, a large portion of American Jewry, especially my aged contemporaries, are convinced that the world hates us. A recent letter to the editor in this newspaper declared: "Warning: Holocaust II is coming…the simmering volcano is about to explode." If you really believe this, then anything negative about Jewry, especially Israel, is looked upon as just more anti-Semitic lies. This mindset guarantees ignorance.

The concept that Israel is perfect is reinforced by the Jewish establishment through its many missions to Israel for teens through adulthood. Birthright, the March of the Living, organized bar/bat mitzvah tours, congregational rabbi-led tours, all stress the miracle and magic of Israel. In 10 days we are feted with pride and a heightened sense of peoplehood. I totally agree, Israel is a fabulous country — but it is also a country, like all other countries, with glaring defects and moral lapses. But these hordes of American Jews become 10-day wonders, experts on all facets of Israel. Logical conclusion: if there isn't peace it must be totally the Palestinians' fault.

As a result of all of the above, too many Jews, including rabbis and Jewish communal leaders, treat the Israeli-Palestinian peace process as if it were a football game and their prime responsibility is to root for the home team. In the process they either consciously or subconsciously refuse to accept facts that argue against their predetermined biases.

A few years back at a Brandeis class reunion (my wife's) I encountered a very bright alum and we began to discuss Israel. I mentioned that I felt guilty driving back from Ramallah on a Jew-only super highway while West Bank Palestinians were consigned to a not much better than dirt road. He vehemently burst out against this terrible lie about how Israel treats Palestinians under its occupation. Here's a bright guy from a top American university who was totally ignorant of facts because of his emotional commitments.

A more recent example: A very bright Boca Raton rabbi interviewed in this paper declared that J Street should have been denied entrance into the Conference of Presidents because it supports BDS (Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions) against Israel; therefore it could not be considered pro-Israel. The problem is that J Street explicitly states that it opposes all boycotts. I doubt whether he intentionally misstated the facts. He was merely an intellectual casualty of the emotional milieu of the American Jewish community. He was rendered ignorant.

So how does one personally overcome this smothering miasma of ignorance that is sprayed over us? One word: Read. Read the Israeli press. For $99 per year one can read in English Haaretz every day just as Israelis do. Don't rely on so-called American Jewish leaders to tell you what is really happening there. Read the Forward, America's best independent weekly newspaper. It is printed in New York, but it's really a national newspaper. It's unbiased and it's informative. Read the New York Times. It does a better job covering Israel than it does covering Staten Island. Needless to say, read both historical and political books on Israel.

Unlike a terminal disease, ignorance is something that can be overcome. For its own health American Jewry has to become more sophisticated. With knowledge we can become a better friend and advocate for Israel simply because we will be able to understand its defects as well as its strengths.

I guess somewhere within the supra-elite super-structure, the chickens have come home to roost. When minorities are demonized and suffer genocide several times over, what are you left with? Who survives? The most cunning, the most intelligent.

After the Second World War it became improper or illegal to discriminate against 'Jews'. A meritocracy was created where the brightest would advance the farthest. Further to that, the nepotism that was also a base requirement to survive, helped the 'Jews' to gain traction, economically. And are they a force to be reckoned with? Absolutely. With their history...omg!

Still, some 'Jews' are only a part of the ruling elite. The Anglo-Americans still wield tremendous power.

The bigger story behind troubles in the Ukraine

Israel Shamir - The Ukraine in Turmoil
May 30, 2014
Israel Shamir is an internationally acclaimed radical spiritual and political thinker, internet columnist and writer. His comments about current affairs and their deeper meaning are published on his site israelshamir.net and elsewhere. He is also author of three books, Galilee Flowers, Cabbala of Power and recently published Masters of Discourse, available in many languages. A native of Novosibirsk, Siberia, he moved to Israel in 1969, served as paratrooper in the army and fought in the 1973 war. After the war, he turned to journalism and writing. In 1975, Shamir joined the BBC and moved to London. After returning to Israel in 1980, Shamir wrote for the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz, and was the Knesset spokesman for the Israel Socialist Party (Mapam). He translated and annotated the cryptic works of S.Y. Agnon, the only Hebrew Nobel Prize winning writer, from the original Hebrew into Russian. Shamir’s main topic of focus is on the question of Israel/Palestine relations. Shamir lives in Jaffa and spends much time in Moscow and Stockholm. In this program, we discuss the turmoil in the Ukraine.

We’ll talk about the history behind the struggle for the Ukraine, the Orange Revolution and the oligarchs behind it. Israel also discusses the old Soviet empire in relation to the Ukraine. Later, we deconstruct those who seek to dominate Ukraine from behind the scenes. Also, we’ll talk about the relations between the west and Putin’s Russia and the strange relationship between neo-Nazis and nationalists who work with globalists and Zionists to take control of the Ukraine. The hour ends on the future of Europe and what kind of conditions the planned chaotic conflicts will bring.
