I became aware of this due to Jim Stone's website:

I've not used it myself. From what I read just now, Pale Moon is a based on Firefox, but compiled with optimizations for reasonably current PC's and primarily for Windows, with some of the little used portions removed. The result should be better performance for the typical user, running Windows on a reasonably current PC.
