Does anyone else have experience of this? I've used it for years to ward off migraines, & it does help. However, what I dislike is the way so many people have set themselves up as gurus of the whole thing; they post really mushy videos and advice with very little variation in the scripts they use, and much hype about how it has "turned their lives around", along with exorbitant fees for additional information. It has been degraded, in my view, to a scam. . . . . or am I being too harsh?

If it helps then it's not a scam, but if folks needs to pay for more info it may not have anything to do with that technique (who knows) who knows what it really is but if it works then use it.

If the technique your using works, then make your own vid to help others for free

It's good, I learned with the original creator Roger Callahan years ago, who started Thought Field Therapy. Very simple - no need to say anything, just tap on various meridian points in upper body. Things like EFT came later.

I use it in my practice sometimes. And on me!

The University of Gainesville Florida found that (Emotional Freedom Technique) worked the BEST for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
I learned to use it on Youtube for free, but I do respect a lot of the people who take it to higher levels and charge for what they do.
I think I learned a lot more by researching and doing it for myself.
It really does work :)

EFT really does work. Gary Craig does not get enough credit for developing EFT (derived from the work of Callahan). It's another form of release and God knows we hold onto so much negative energy.

Because you posted this thread, I looked into it, and watched some videos and tried it out. I think this may be really great! I felt an immediate effect. I do not know much about the topic, though. Anyone want to recommend specific free videos/texts that helped them learn this technique?

Here's one that I used a lot at first. He has several to chose from.

Yes, it does work, I have no doubt about that. . . .I use it often. I suppose I am just the sort of person who dislikes sales talk & cute videos presented by couples who gaze adoringly at one another throughout while not getting to any discernible point.

I wish I could remember the name of the person who first introduced it to me - he was an elderly man who simply showed the tapping points without any hype or frills, & made a free CD available to anyone who had suffered trauma in some particular event (9/11, I think) He really deserves the acclaim he renounced by sharing freely & not trying to mystify the process or charging a fee.

It works an animals too, in certain cases, but not all. It seems the cause of the problem needs to have been emotional rather than physical, although I have found it to work well for both.

BTW this may just be of value to others: Tapping about 10cms above the ears with all four fingers (held in a slight curve or half moon, at about 1cm distance from one another) seems to help for migraine (at least, the kind I get, ie hemiplegic migraine; before the paralysis sets in, an attack can be averted like this) But tapping on the crown of the head when migraine with aura begins, can actually increase the symptoms in my experience.

@ Shadowstalker : I really think that each tapping variation can or should only be discovered by the user, for his or her own problem. I'd hesitate to advise any different tapping points for something I had not experienced myself; it seems some people are very sensitive to the tapping & others not as much. A colleague of mine fainted after her first attempt ("instructed" by myself!:( ) I've tried along points on as many meridians as I can identify, & some points can be painful (not those normally used in EFT)

I LOVE TAPPING! use it all the time for all kinds of things.....amazing for dealing with my fears about money, something always pops up and I always feel better as soon as I tap. I told a friend of mine to try it , she was in bed home from the hospital the week of a double mastectomy followed by a major heart attack and heart surgery...she's a tiny little thing so needless to say she was looking and feeling pretty rough after that week. I told her to try tapping and sent her a Robert Smith youtube to watch...she waited until her 'skeptical of everything woo woo' husband went for his bath.....he came back half an hour later and took one look at her and said What have you done to yourself?? you look fantastic! your eyes are sparkling and your colour is so much better!! what has happened?? she told him she would tell him but he wouldn't believe her......but he was so shocked at this visible change he had to know.....when she told him what she had done he was speechless!

There will always be people trying to make money off of everything but there are literally hundreds of Youtubes for tapping available free.....don't focus on the others, there are people who are happy to pay for their services and I am sure with big issues it helps to have a person who really knows how to get to the root of the problems tap with you.

One of the most difficult parts of learning to Tap for me was learning the appropriate positive affirmation that was needed to tap out the negative emotion. So I searched Tapping YouTube's to find affirmations that applied.

I believe that learning verbal self-defense would also be very Helpful/Healthful to reach a positive emotional balance :)
