First Google said if you dont sign up you couldnt comment, now Google stops any emails that you might want to send to your friends and channels members. Never seen a company force users to take their products and Google plus is doing this. Why? Can't the product Google plus stand on its own merit? Why is Google not allowing members in good standing to email ther friends? Dont understand these new enforcements...

Great thread.. This is the problem that I have as well with Google since he started forcing me and other YouTube users onto its social networking site google+..
Google is forcing us to make google+ accounts and invading our social life, every time we comment on a youtube video and trying to take away our anonymous profile.

From Google's point of view, this forcing has the potential to lift its profile at a time when it is arguably playing third (or more) fiddle to both Facebook and Twitter.

Secondly, integration of the two sites will provide Google with even more information about the users of both services, for what purpose we can assume..

I like to use Google but I hate certain aspects about it , Yes it is a nosey so and so it wants me to forgo my UT anonymity but I refuse to play ball, soon it will be more trouble than it's worth. Perhaps.

I like youtube but they change my page , rearrange my subscriptions , and I have absolutely no say in the matter , I thought it was my page ??? some one should create a site called MYTUBE and cut youtube totally out and give members a choice at how their page is dislayed and the placement of their friends ...

No one uses google plus and google doesn't care. Why? Because all the features were just to be a carrot on a stick to get you to converge all your accounts so google can track you at EVERYTHING you do -- you email is scanned, your videos watched are recorded, your searches are recorded, your browser history is recorded, all for two reasons: Targeted advertising (google is now just a pathetic marketing company 1st, 2nd and 3rd), and secondly, to give alphabet agencies a one stop shop for snooping on individuals.

When the carrot didn't work as well as they thought it would, they went to brute force tactics - -something like what one would expect farcebook to do.

No one uses google plus features, the stats are out and google honestly doesn't give a crap -- it just needed you to consolidate your video views, video searches, web searches, and email, so they can track you better.

That's the whole story right there ;) Pathetic that a company has to resort to these tactics.

Use these search engines (below), never use your gmail account for email, never search google or youtube while logged in; log out unless required -- that should help a bit.

Cut 'em loose. Can't stand Google. Want to own it all and call the shots. They need to be shown they are shunned so they only play w/themselves.

Google SEES NO EVIL on doing things ... That`s the reality , it is owned behind curtain by the same owners of facebook, Apple ... Bye bye privacy.

I immediately stopped my G account when I found geographical coördinates of where my last search was carried out from, or so...It was a discovery of something so invasive that led me to the conclusion that nothing is worth such unnoticed tracking. It was in the G account area. If you dig through it, you'll find it.

At first I thought it would be difficult, with YT and such but it's been a while now and I'm doing fine.

All of the spying these days makes me want to put a go pro on my cap and walk around and film and record everything all the time ... especially government types and corporations , see how they like it ... do a live feed 24-7 and follow my congressman around, or sit right across from the NSA headquarters and film them ... HEY what are doing , oh I'm just taken a video , you know trying to keep you safe ...

Non-YouTube/non-Google+ sites are targets, too! Not only do they identify you (even if the site that you're posting on says your email address is kept confidential)., they'll post your picture! I asked a question on a work-related forum, being careful not to put too much info...not only did my real name show up but my picture, too.

I never signed up for Google+ plus but having a Gmail account made bypassing "confidential" okay. How they picked up my photo? A five year old Facebook account that I never used that was registered with an old AOL email address. How's that for collaboration? I've been unable to remove the post.

In the past when google kept on nagging for your real name that was even more annoying than Google+ i don't like the fact that when you post a comment on youtube, the tickbox to automatically post on Google plus is always selected, there should be a option to turn that off by default, it's really annoying having to uncheck it each time you want to comment.

This time Google did it sneaky, they didnt alert any of the channel owners and just cut off the ability to use emails. For comments Google claimed in the past that they had to clean them up as they had no control over what trolls wrote so a link to Google+ was created (so they say) to make troll comments a thing of the past. Did that even work? There is no excuse for stopping emails other than forcing a person to sign up for a product they dont want. Who does that anyway? What company forces a product on people? And, how would you feel about using it after?...

I tried signing on to this forum on duckduckgo. I got to the logon page, filled it out, hit enter and it just took me to a blank logon page. Weird.

I think you just made a mistake with your logon to this forum, when that happens you get brought to the full logon page.

I personally find ixquick/startpage much better than duckduck. How about Yandex? Or Rambler? Anyone try those? Yandex seems to have good SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), although it is no privacy search engine, only startpage is, that I know of.

Yes, yes, yes! Everything you said!

I removed all my videos from YouTube and relocated to Vimeo because of it all. Not sure how safe Vimeo is though. :suspicious:
Up until now, I've only used YouTube to keep in touch with people through private messages. Now, I can't even do that.
Soon now... I will zap my YouTube channel. :laser:

I have tried loging into my channel, but now in order to do that they want my first and last name, phone number and a blood sample. ARGGGG (ok not the blood, but that will be next). And, my channel and subscriptions are all rearranged and in a completely different format. it is complete and utter BS.

I used to not log out of YouTube (to avoid getting asked those stupid questions), but would get 'bumped off' every week or so regardless. Lately, that hasn't happened so I just stay logged on. From what you are saying (they also want a phone number?!), I'd better close up shop... I was wanting to hold out a bit longer... such a waste. :(

I never log myself out. But for some reason, i get logged out anyway, and am forced to log back in, each time having to jump through a different hoop. Sick and tired of it.

Sick and tired is right.

Well, I did it. I closed my Google account. And, I must say, it feels.... good.

My friend was just as mad as you Pris and thought he closed it all out but guess what Google in all their concern leaves a template page open where your account was...How nice of them...Its like a rash you can't rid of it once you decide not to live with it anymore...

Yes, indeed lol! :p Google says something about keeping your account there for a short period of time should you change your mind. Eventually, it's supposed to 'disappear'. I'm certain they keep everything. That's what those big buildings are for. ;)

If I've done anything, I've probably attracted more attention to myself. Still, it felt good to 'delete' it hehe.

Gee wiz, Google is at it again... Did anyone notice the subtle change on youtube watching videos? If you visit a channel and try to watch a single video from the channel it now links you to the whole playlist and can't single out individual ones anymore. It's the whole list now or hit back buttons before it goes to the next one in order. Not totally sure why they did this, maybe to keep viewers on google plus instead of going on youtube? Its really inconvienient thats one thing...

My guess is the goal is to get people away from turning to youtube for a real education about life on this planet. Youtube has opened a LOT of eyes. "they" are not happy about it.

Exactly. They want you to watch, watch, watch without thinking. Also, the more hours you watch, the more ads you play.
